And, in hopes of showing I'm not trying to be the jerk in the room, here's a Mel Bailey Steve Whitaker Royals image per your earlier request. Last edited by FatJack; 02-08-2018 at 08:01 AM. Reason: Whitaker photo added |

1889 Philadelphia Athletics
Through the combined efforts of myself, UKbaseballfan, and RUKen, we have player IDs for the team photo of the 1889 Philadelphia Athletics. As with most of the other team photos from that year, it came from the book Athletic Sports in America, England and Australia.
Here are the IDs: Top Row, L-R: Henry Larkin, Frank Fennelly, Blondie Purcell, George Townsend (DNP), Tom Gunning, Gus Weyhing, Ed Knouff, Harry Stovey Bottom Row, L-R: Phenomenal Smith, Lave Cross, Curt Welch, Mike Mattimore, Bill Sharsig (Mgr.), Lou Bierbauer, Denny Lyons, Ed Seward As always, if anyone has anything different please let me know. |

Looking for player pic help.
Hi all. I'm new to actually posting to the forum, although I have used some of the fine pics posted here in the past. I'm in the process of updating my baseball pic sets, and was hoping that I'd be able to get some help finding pics for players I couldn't find. Prefer color pics with cap and/or uni, but would gladly settle for b/w. Thanks in advance for any help. Will start with a short list:
Joe Borowski-Tampa Mike Judd-Tampa & TEX J.D.Smart-TEX Brandon Villafuerte-TEX Armando Almanza-ARZ Mike Moher-ARZ Juan Acevedo-FLA Jay Aldrich-ATL Trey Moore-ATL Kevin Beirne-TOR Lance Painter-MILW My apologies if any of these are repeats. Jay Aldrich Braves 1989
I don't know how familiar you are with the search features, but Jay Aldrich was already on this thread with the 1989 Braves. Here is the link: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ostcount=23993

I'm new to actually using the site, so I'm not very familiar with the workings. I did type aldrich's name into the search, but that link didn't come up. Any help on using the search correctly so I'm not cluttering up the post with repeats would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help.

Would like to import all the player pics
Hello!
I had this game back in 2002 and was easily able to import player pics for historical leagues. Can someone please point me to the direction to import all historical pics for all seasons? This thread appears to be one pic at a time which would take years to download. : ) There are also seems to be naming issues, like the gaylord perry pic below says it is from 1964 when it is really the rangers in 1978 So how do i export all the pics to the folder then import them into the game? And when importing to game, do you do it for each 'simulation' you run? thanks so much! |

Since I'm not a player of simulation games, I don't know the answers to your questions about importing the photos into the folders for those games. |

Nick Willhite 1963
With the cap blacked out, it's impossible to know what uniform Willhite is wearing in this photo. But it strikes me that there is a fair chance that it's a Royals uniform. The photo comes from the Omaha World-Herald of July 25, 1970, just as Nick was reporting to the Kansas City affiliate in that city. Willhite had been with the KC Royals throughout spring training and into the season as a batting practice pitcher up until that time.

2018 Photo Day Sets
Can't believe I didn't know it was MLB Photo Day week...one of my favorite times of year. Photo Day is when the national media outlets (AP, USA Today, etc.) and local media outlets take pictures of the teams for use during the year. Its usually the first time you get to see the new acquisitions and new kids in the gear of your hometown teams and its often the only time you'll get to see the NRIs in the hometown duds. The sets have become pretty standard over the years--players in standard poses against a single color background. There are the usual joke pictures every year and you'll no doubt see a wave of those posted online by blog after blog after blog down the road. I prefer outdoor shots, myself, and I love when they get really creative, but few do anymore (the local papers do better at that). Still, the Zimbio sets have become an indispensable staple of our hobby.
Not all the teams have been photographed and posted, yet. And Zimbio has a tendency to add some photos to some sets later (so your team may have 67 images today and 85 tomorrow). Not every team gets the same number of pictures. You get what you get. I'll update this list as necessary. But, for now, the number in parentheses is the number of images for that team and the links should take you to the full Zimbio album of that team (I was in a hurry, so mistakes may have been made). You'll find some of these and others (and some different) up on Getty, as well. But I always go to Zimbio first. As noted, the local outlets do different and, often, better. So far, the only one I've stumbled across is New York Newsday, which has a nice set of Mets looking a little "Field of Dreams"-ish. If I find anything good, I'll update in this post as well. I've included a few examples from Zimbio and one from Newsday below. We've got Andrew McCutchen, Josh Tomlin, Yu Darvish, and Luis Guillorme (one of the best fielding shortstops I've ever seen; I've been saying for years Rosario should be at third and Guillorme at short...long before Luis nonchalantly caught the broken bat in the dugout). [Adding 5th image: Brock Holt of the Red Sox apparently imitating Andrew Benintendi, but I think he looks like a Dr. Seuss character. Found here, but nothing else special there.] Atlanta Braves (63) Miami Marlins (289) New York Mets (143) Philadelphia Phillies (263) Washington Nationals (121) Chicago Cubs (221) Cincinnati Reds (74) Milwaukee Brewers (140) Pittsburgh Pirates (95) St. Louis Cardinals (185) Arizona Diamondbacks (166) Colorado Rockies (196) L.A. Dodgers (64) San Diego Padres (219) San Francisco Giants (181) [link corrected] Baltimore Orioles (101) Boston Red Sox (130) New York Yankees (200) Tampa Bay Rays (63) Toronto Blue Jays (110) Chicago White Sox (294) Cleveland Indians (93) Detroit Tigers (114) Kansas City Royals (174) Minnesota Twins (228) Houston Astros (216) L.A. Angels (158) Oakland A's (464) Seattle Mariners (156) Texas Rangers (117) Local media sets & others: Atlanta Journal-Constitution Braves (16) New York Newsday Mets (53) St. Louis Post-Dispatch Cardinals (129) AZ Central Diamondbacks (74) Dodgers Insider (31) Boston Red Sox (via Fenway Frames) (25) Northjersey.com Yankees (17) Ocean County Register Angels (30) Last edited by FatJack; 02-26-2018 at 07:57 AM. |

.... San Francisco Giants (181) ...... Thanks a lot for these links. Just a slight error in the Giants link...leads us to the Padres. Also, as you wrote, some different pics & players on Getty....you can find Hosmer there with the Padres. |

K-Rod Tries to extend career
Francisco 'K-Rod' Rodriguez, 36, attempts to extend his career to a 17th major league season as a
Non-Roster, Spring Training Invitee with the Philadelphia Phillies. He is 5th all-time in Saves with 437 and ranks in the top 20 in relief appearances with 948. He worked one inning in his first appearance of the Spring exhibition game schedule at the Phillies camp in Clearwater, Florida today. |
