He knew what was coming. He looked down during the whole podium shenanigans.

Apparently McDimwit was caught out with a wrong base setup, which they didn't test sufficiently in practice, partly due to several red flags (nail your ******* manhole covers down, ffs), to realize that their cars were too low, leading to too much wear on the planks at the bottom of the car.

Lando was not shown on the final laps (because it's much more exciting to show a well clear blue car), but from what I read the car was sparking ferociously from contact with the ground. So both cars were "randomly selected" for a technical inspection after the race.

And then the FIA took FOUR HOURS to apply its own rulebook after the cars went to scrutineering. The chief technical inspector (Jo Bauer) had them measured to be in breach of the rulebook in under 90 minutes, and then the stewards and McDimwit brass started bickering back and forth.

I'm so done with everything.

I just want to go back to bed.

Lando - 390 points (7 wins, 8 second places)
Ossie - 366 points (7 wins, 3 second places)
Dutch Max - 366 points (6 wins)

Lando wins the title in Qatar by finishing seventh in the sprint and winning the GP, which would give him 390 + 2 + 25 = 417 points with 8 wins, 8 second places.

The best either of the other two could do then would be to win the Qatar sprint and Abu Dhabi, and come second in the Qatar GP, for 366 + 8 + 18 + 25 = 417 points, but Lando beats them both on countback (more wins than Dutch Max, or more second places than Ossie). Note that sprint wins do not count for the tie-breaker.
