1941 Birmingham Black Barons
I found this image of the Birmingham Black Barons in the 8/10/1941 edition of The Kalamazoo Gazette. While not an ideal photo, I didn't have pictures of Eddie Snead, Nora Listach and Willie Nixon. Beggars can't be choosers.

Clemon Rooney 1941
I located a nice photograph of a young Rooney in the 4/7/1928 edition of The Des Moines Register. He later played briefly for the St. Louis/New Orleans Stars.

Negro League Facepack--Update
For those that are interested, I've updated my Negro League Facepack through the 1941 season. Progress is a little slow as I'm trying to comb through some newspaper sources to find obscure players.

Leon Childress
Catcher Leon Childress was with the Baltimore Elite Giants throughout the 1939 season, but he won't be found in the Seamheads database because he apparently was merely a backup catcher. A somewhat talented player named Roy Campanella was the first stringer at that position.
The photo shows Childress with the Elite Giants. It's from his SABR BioProject biography. |

Eddie Dixon
Pitcher Eddie Dixon appeared with the Atlanta Black Crackers, Indianapolis ABC's and Baltimore Elite Giants during the 1938-40 period.
Dixon is shown here wearing a Baltimore Elite Giants jacket. The photo is from his biography in the SABR BioProject website. |

Ulysses Evans 1942
I didn't see a photo for Evans, also referred to as "Slim", on Seamheads. I was able to locate a photo of him pitching for the Motor City Giants in the 7/31/1943 edition of The Michigan Chronicle.

Griff Lomax 1942
Also known as "Schoolboy" Lomax, he was pictured playing for the House of David in the 7/30/1939 edition of The Bellingham Herald. Sadly he was murdered in 1975 after a card game argument.

1940 Louisville Black Colonels
Here's another helpful team photo which features several players I did not have pictureds of. It was featured in the 6/21/1940 edition of The Vincennes Sun-Commercial and has Charley Carter, Half Pint Allen, and Sam Warmack, all missing players.

Julio baez
Julio Báez was both a Rightfielder , and a reliever for the New York Cubans in 1940. Originally from the Dominican Republic. Not sure if this image is from his time in México (1946 or Venezuela (1938).
