2305 Season Pass Association
Season Pass Associaton Update by Evan Guy 7 September 2304 Dalton Farm Threepeats as Season Pass Champions The Quantum Nukalurks put up an early fight to win the first two games of the Season Pass Association's Season Pass Series, but the Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers won the last four games to claim their third-straight title. Game 1: Quantum 6 at Dalton Farm 5 Fog Crawlers Hammered by Ransom, Drop Game 1 to Nukalurks The Quantum Nukalurks started the Season Pass Series in style today, winning on the road against the Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers at Blood Tide Stadium by a score of 6-5 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Nukalurks first baseman Joe Ransom excelled. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. Quantum used a clutch hit from Jason Love to get the win. The left fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Nukalurks ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer. "You never want to start a series with a loss, but I saw a lot of good things today," Fog Crawlers manager Spider Webb said. "I'm not worrying. Yet." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Thursday, August 31st , 2305. Game 2: Quantum 6 at Dalton Farm 1 Quantum Tops Dalton Farm Again, 6-1 Starter Smoker Caliman was sensational for the Quantum Nukalurks in his team's 6-1 triumph over the Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers in Game 2 of the Season Pass Series today. Caliman pitched well, but Quantum picked up the win to take a 2-0 lead in the series. Caliman allowed 1 run over 9 innings. He also racked up 8 strikeouts. "We have been clicking right from the start of this series, so our mission statement at the moment is just don't tinker with anything," Quantum manager Scott Dancer told reporters. Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at World of Refreshment Field in Bradberton. Game 3: Dalton Farm 9 at Quantum 7 Dalton Farm Breaks Through for First Win in Season Pass Series; Now Trails 2-1 The Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Quantum Nukalurks, winning 9-7 at World of Refreshment Field today. Fog Crawlers left fielder Sean Harpoonmon went 4-5 with 4 singles. He scored 2 runs. The win cuts the deficit facing the Fog Crawlers to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Season Pass Series. Dalton Farm relied on the bat of Jayden Neo to get the win. The second baseman ripped a bases-clearing triple in the top of the third inning to put the Fog Crawlers ahead, 4-3. For the game, Neo had 1 double and 1 triple in 4 at-bats. "It's a huge change in atmosphere versus last game," Neo said after the win. "I feel like we're back in the mix now. We just can't let up." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at World of Refreshment Field in Bradberton. Game 4: Dalton Farm 1 at Quantum 0 Fog Crawlers Clip Nukalurks 1-0 in SPS Contest The Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers got a complete game effort from starter Phil Cecil to move into a 2-2 tie with the Quantum Nukalurks in the best-of-7 Season Pass Series. The Dalton Farm left-hander went the distance at World of Refreshment Field, cooling off the Quantum Nukalurks and striking out 2 to help Dalton Farm take the 1-0 win that knotted the series. The Nukalurks had trouble solving Cecil, who surrendered no runs on 4 hits over 9 innings. "It feels a lot better to be tied than to be behind, even if it is only one game," Dalton Farm manager Spider Webb said. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at World of Refreshment Field in Bradberton. Game 5: Dalton Farm 17 at Quantum 4 Morris Blasts Nukalurks, Fog Crawlers Take Game 5, 17-4 Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers third baseman Ryan Morris was the difference-maker at World of Refreshment Field today, as he led his club to victory in a pivotal Game 5 of the Season Pass Series. The Fog Crawlers took the 17-4 win over the Quantum Nukalurks to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series. Dalton Farm relied on the hitting of Chris Huffsettler to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Fog Crawlers on top, 13-1. For the game, Huffsettler had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats. "It was all gas and no brake on our side," said Huffsettler. The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, September 6th , 2305 at Blood Tide Stadium. Game 6: Quantum 1 at Dalton Farm 7 Fog Crawlers Prevail In Season Pass Association Series Justin Wentworth pitched a complete game, holding Quantum to three hits and a run with 10 strikeouts in the Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers' 7-1 win in Game 6 of the Season Pass Series. Both Chris Huffsettler and Ryan Morris went deep for the Crawlers. Both went 2 for 4 in the game. Morris scored twice and drove in two. Huffsettler scored once and knocked in three. "It's no easy task to win it all," the Dalton Farm skipper Spider Webb told the press after his club had beaten the Quantum Nukalurks 7-1 to nab the coveted Season Pass Association title. His Fog Crawlers had prevailed over the Nukalurks 4-2 in the championship series. "It's hard enough just to win your own league trophy. To win the Season Pass Association is quite an achievement. We are extremely proud to be that team." During the Vim! League Fog Division regular season, Dalton Farm posted a record of 58-32 to finish first in the standings.

BMU Playoffs Semifinals Trinity Plaza Sweeps into Boston Minor Series The Trinity Plaza Snipers have swept the Somerville Place Sentry Bots and are on to the Boston Minor Series. Trinity Plaza won 2-1 today at Somerville Place Park to clinch the Association Championship. "We're happy to have put the dagger in when we had the chance," said Trinity Plaza shortstop Danny Marker, who was named MVP for the series. "It could have been a tough series to finish if we let them start winning." Marker won the award with a .500 batting average and a .500 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Trinity Plaza Snipers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Everett Mutant Hounds - Union Hope Lifegivers series. That series has not started yet. The Boston Minor Series schedule will be announced after the Association Championship finishes. Everett Takes Association Championship in Deciding Game When the entire season comes down to one game, Gains Baker said you find out what a team is really about. As it turns out, the Everett Mutant Hounds are made of fight and tenacity, as the team got by the Union Hope Lifegivers 3-2 tonight at Irish Pride Industries Park in order to win the Association Championship and book a place in the next round. "It wasn't hard to get excited for this game," said Baker, whose strong offensive output earned him MVP honors. "Our guys answered the call and proved a lot about what our team is all about." Baker hit .250 with a .308 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Everett Mutant Hounds will play against the Trinity Plaza Snipers in the next round. Trinity Plaza won their series against the Somerville Place Sentry Bots 2 games to 0. The Boston Minor Series schedule will be announced after the Association Championship finishes. Boston Minor Series Snipers Win Boston Minor Series The Trinity Plaza Snipers are champions, today and forever. The Snipers topped the Everett Mutant Hounds 4-3 at Memory Den Field today to claim the Boston Minor Series crown. "Nobody can take this away from us, not ever," said series MVP and right fielder Vince Bamburg after his club had sealed the victory. "We worked hard and we accomplished our goal." The atmosphere was electric as the newly-crowned champs stormed the field at the conclusion of the game. Fans cheered, gloves flew in the air, high fives and hugs were the order of the day. "From day one of spring training, I could see it in their eyes," said Trinity Plaza manager Scrappy Barios. "The players had that look of intensity, of hunger, of a desire to accomplish something great, and today they did that. They're champions of the world." The Snipers took the series 3-1. The new titleholders completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the Massachusetts Association Downtown Boston League and a 52-36 record. BYDL Playoffs Semifinals Brewers Cruise to Rooke Series On paper, the Beantown Brewers will be credited with a 2-0 sweep of the Castle Strength in the League Championship, to advance to the Rookie Series. In reality, said starting pitcher Admiral Kelm, it was a lot harder-fought than that might suggest. "They are a great team and although we won every game, it wasn't easy by any stretch of the imagination," he said. Beantown won the final game by a 4-1 score at Radio Freedom Field. Kelm earned series MVP honors for the Brewers, with a 1.23 ERA over 7.1 innings pitched. He also had a 1-0 record and 10 strikeouts. The Beantown Brewers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Clifton Vertibirds - Covenant Refractors series. That series has not started yet. The Rookie Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship finishes. Refractors Win League Championship Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the North League League Championship. It turned out quite a bit different. The Covenant Refractors swept aside the Clifton Vertibirds to advance to the Rookie Series, winning the final game by a 8-5 score at Synth Sympathy Center Field. The series MVP was second baseman Weston Railgun, who hit .500 with a .571 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 2 runs. "We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise," he said. "But we'll take it." The Covenant Refractors will play against the Beantown Brewers in the next round. Beantown won their series against the Castle Strength 2 games to 0. The Rookie Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship finishes. Rookie Series With a 4-3 win over the Covenant Refractors tonight at Beantown Brewers Lot #1 Field, the Beantown Brewers wrapped up their 2nd title in team history. Beantown left little doubt who was the better club. "Team" was the word of the day as the Brewers celebrated the culmination of their banner year in the victors clubhouse following the game. "Hitting, pitching, fielding; those are all things you need to win, but most importantly you need a team, a team that works together toward the same collective goal," said Beantown manager Frank Hermit. "Our players felt that way all year and they played that way. When one guy had an off day, 24 others stepped up their game and filled the void." A jovial mood filled the air as Beantown celebrated into the night. The city's mayor said parade plans were underway and a "huge celebration" in the works. "We're going to celebrate our team, our championship Beantown Brewers," the mayor said. The champions completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the South League Southwest Division and a 51-37 record.

2305 CBO Playoffs
BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 20 September 2305 CBO Playoff Play-In Series Preview NCA Playoffs - #5 County Crossing Bloodbugs (72-48) vs #4 Concord Radstags (63-57) Season Series County Crossing 6, Concord 2 April 20-21 @Con: Con 13-12, CC 4-1 May 9-10 @CC: CC 7-0, CC 9-8 August 1-2 @CC: CC 9-3, CC 5-4 September 12-13 @Con: Con 8-6, CC 3-1 Analysis County Crossing returns to the playoffs for the fifth-straight year though it is the first time that they enter as the fifth seed. Don't let that seeding fool you, though. This team is dangerous. They will face Concord who makes their fourth playoff appearance after a one-year hiatus. The Radstags won the Institute League two years ago. The Bloodbugs finished 3rd in the NCA in runs scored (653). They finished 1st or 2nd in six of the nine offensive categories, so their offense is still quite dangerous. Seven players hit a double-digit number of home runs with 1B Zeldolph Violet (.327/44/118), LF Babs Rooth (.315/31/99), 3B Taygun Topaloglu (.346/18/78), and CF Long Hall (.299/18/57) leading the way. For pitching, the Bugs were 4th in runs against (516), 3rd in Starters ERA (4.06), and 4th in Bullpen ERA (3.98). The starters will be Gavin Eviritts (15-9, 4.15), Urm Rehfeldt (17-7, 3.81), and Whip Lashley (10-7, 4.70) with Bendy Barman (12-7, 3.66) moving into the bullpen for the playoffs. CL Jesse Bibeault (36 SV, 2.05) is among the best in the business closing out games. Concord was 7th in runs scored (545) and finished in the bottom half of every offensive category but stolen bases (2nd at 49) and base running (1st at 2.2). They do have two stars in the lineup in 1B Dusty Brownell (.271/39/93) and LF Dan Erb (.316/26/82). CF Pockets Aintfull (.285/1/38/22 SB) and RF Gene Leftswipe (.242/11/36/16 SB) help to generate runs when they get on base. The pitching was the place where the Stags thrived in 2305. They finished 3rd in runs against (510), 5th in Starters ERA (4.36), and 3rd in Bullpen ERA (3.69). The best starter is Emperry Alizm (12-8, 3.50) with hopes that the other two starters, John Oldsink (12-9, 4.43) and Chris Radsco (7-10, 4.98) will hang with the Bugs. In the bullpen, CL Dan Beantown (28 SV, 2.38) has been good with additional help coming from RP Spider Caddell (3-4, 3.12). Prediction County Crossing mostly dominated this series, and we think they are too talented to fall here. We will take the Bloodbugs to win this one in two games. SCA Playoffs - #5 Atom Cats (75-45) vs #4 Egret Ninjas (64-56) Season Series Atom 5, Egret 3 April 29-30 @Atom: Atom 3-2, Atom 1-0 June 20-21 @EGR: EGR 4-3, Atom 14-5 August 15-16 @EGR: EGR 5-3, EGR 7-4 September 5-6 @Atom: Atom 6-5, Atom 13-4 Analysis Atom is here for the fifth time in a row, while Egret is making its first trip to the CBO playoffs. The Ninjas one other taste was in 2296, the first year of professional baseball, when they made a quick exit against the Institute League's Abernathy Adamantium. The Cats advanced to the Sole Survivor Series once in their history, 2301, when they became the only SCA team to lose in the Sole Survivor Series. The SCA champions have won every other year: 2298-2300, 2302-2304. Atom finished 3rd in the SCA in runs scored (633) with base stealing and running being the only place (9th) where they didn't finish 3rd. They have a powerful trifecta of hitters in RF Melon Sanderson (.300/43/127) who came just short of setting the RBI record, 1B Casey Roux (.298/28/83), and SS Jake Doucette (.331/22/72). This team is powerfully built, and will really strain the Ninjas' pitching. The Cats were 1st in runs allowed (457), 2nd in Starters ERA (3.50), and 2nd in Bullpen ERA (3.84). All of that was accomplished despite ace Scruffy Tagucki (8-10, 3.64) having a down year. The other three starters--Deedee Martinson (18-5, 2.60), Tristan Marble (8-10, 3.38), and Bow Rome (19-4, 3.66)--pitched better than Taguchi at times. Rome will move to the bullpen for the playoffs, joining RP Adam Forestman (13-1, 2.88) and CL Chopsticks McWilliams (28 SV, 4.21). The Cats won a lot of games late. Egret started the season on fire but could just hang on in a weakened Railroad League. The Ninjas finished 7th in the SCA in runs scored (560) with their best statistical categories being stolen bases (2nd at 71) and base running (2nd at 2.5). There is still pop and speed in this lineup to contend with in 1B Joe Mahaney (.280/30/92), RF Rick Pickle (.314/22/82), 2B Ajani Peacock (.348/10/39/23 SB), and SS Hopper Hayes (.293/7/37/15 SB). For pitching, the Ninjas looked to be the best early but also faded in time, finishing 6th in runs allowed (526), 5th in Starters ERA (3.97), and 10th in Bullpen ERA (5.01). The top two starters, Tup Mallory (15-7, 2.99) and Brahmin Lover Beardman (16-9, 3.40), looked good against the opponents, and Mat Nielsen (11-10, 4.49) held his own. In the bullpen, the Ninjas will rely on their two closers in Evan Before (18 SV, 2.87) and Midnight Flowers (15 SV, 4.42) to hold on to tight games late. Prediction Like the NCA, we expect the Atom Cats to easily pull away in this series. We expect the series to end after two games with Roxbury hoping it is an upset.

2305 CBO Playoffs
BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 22 September 2304 NCA Play-in Series: #5 County Crossing vs #4 Concord Game 1 - County Crossing 2 at Concord 1 Bloodbugs Edge Radstags 2-1 to Open PiS The Play-in Series got off to a quiet start today, with the traveling County Crossing Bloodbugs taking a low-scoring 2-1 win over the host Concord Radstags. County Crossing right-hander Gavin Eviritts was marvelous at Nuka Park. The Bloodbugs now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 series. County Crossing used the timely hitting of Mike McDonie to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bloodbugs on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer. "Things broke our way today and that's great," Bloodbugs manager Crow Guai said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Nuka Park in Concord. Game 2: County Crossing 4 at Concord 2 Bloodbugs Advance to Association Semifinal The County Crossing Bloodbugs outclassed the Concord Radstags in all facets of the game throughout the NCA Play-in Series. The end result was a County Crossing series sweep to advance to the Association Semifinal, capped off by a 4-2 win in the final game. "We're a bit surprised it's over in a sweep, to be honest with you," said shortstop Cy Thompson, who hit .667 in the series. Thompson's standout effort garnered him MVP honors. He also put up a .714 on-base percentage and had 1 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 1 runs. The County Crossing Bloodbugs will play against the Sunshine Tidings Chemists in the next round. Sunshine Tidings had a bye in the Play-in Series. The Association Semifinal schedule will be announced after the Play-in Series finishes. SCA Play-In Series: #5 Atom vs #4 Egret Game 1: Atom 0 at Egret 2 Play-in Series Game 1 Victory for Mallory and Egret The Play-in Series got off to a quiet start today, with the host Egret Ninjas taking a low-scoring 2-0 win over the Atom Cats. Egret left-hander Tup Mallory was marvelous at Fallon Field at Egret Tours Marina. The Ninjas now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 series. Mallory, a native of Bradberton, Massachusetts, was dealing all game. He kept Atom hitters off-balance, while giving the Ninjas 8.2 quality innings. Mallory threw 101 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 9. "It was a solid team effort," said Mallory after the game. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Fallon Field at Egret Tours Marina in Egret Tours Marina. Game 2: Atom 5 at Egret 3, 11 inn. Cats Even With Ninjas After Extra-Innings Win The Atom Cats went the distance and then some at Fallon Field at Egret Tours Marina today to drag themselves back into a tie with the Egret Ninjas. It took 11 innings to settle Game 2 of the Play-in Series, but Atom eventually took the 5-3 win despite the performance of Egret starting pitcher Brahmin Lover Beardman, who threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The clubs are now tied 1-1 in their best-of-3 series. Atom used a timely hit from Casey Roux to get the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Cats ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact. "We'll take some time to unwind," said Roux, "and then get after it again." The next game is set to be played for Friday, September 22nd , 2305 at Coolest Field in Town in Atom Cats Garage. Game 3: Egret 9 at Atom 3 Egret Takes Play-in Series in Deciding Game Depending on your loyalties, the Play-in Series was either thrilling or heartbreaking. The series went down to its final game, with the Egret Ninjas and the Atom Cats giving their fans plenty of drama. In the end, the Ninjas came out on top, winning 9-3 at Coolest Field in Town today to take the series 2-1. "We're lucky to be going into the Association Semifinal," said Egret LF Bat Savelli. "If all the series are like this, it'll definitely be an entertaining postseason." Savelli earned series MVP honors, hitting for a .400 average, with 0 home runs, 5 RBI and 3 runs scored. The Egret Ninjas will play against the Roxbury Rad Sox in the next round. Roxbury had a bye in the Play-in Series. The Association Semifinal schedule will be announced after the Play-in Series finishes. Playoff Tree

2305 CBO Playoffs
BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 23 September 2305 CBO Playoff SCA Association Preview NCA Playoffs - #4 Egret Ninjas (64-56) vs #1 Roxbury Rad Sox (88-32) Season Series Roxbury 12, Egret 0 May 19-21 @ Rox: Rox 7-1, Rox 11-4, Rox 3-1 June 2-4 @ EGR: Rox 5-4, Rox 12-1, Rox 5-3 July 21-23 @Rox: Rox 12-1, Rox 6-5, Rox 9-8 August 25-27 @ EGR: Rox 10-3, Rox 5-4, Rox 14-5 Analysis If any season series between playoff teams was ever more lopsided, we have yet to find it. Outside of playing Roxbury, Egret was 64-44 (.592) and yet Roxbury would have still finished 12 games ahead if they had never played once. However, they did play 12 times and the Rad Sox won every one of those games. The Sox were not even as dominant this year as they were last year, yet here we are looking at the hands-on favorites to win it all again this season. The offense did not dominate any offensive category, but they did finish second in the SCA in most categories, including runs scored (690). All eight of their season starters hit 10 or more home runs, yet they still finished 5th in the SCA in homers (145); of course, that is partially because CF Ben Pawlak (.281/19/80) hit some of those for Fort Hagen. The top three for the Sox were 3B Donn Mattingley (.290/26/104), RF Young Goodman (.335/24/99), and 2B Chris Connexx (.298/18/67). Pitching was also not as dominant as they have been in the past, but Roxbury finished 2nd in runs allowed (459), 3rd in Starters ERA (3.66), and 1st in Bullpen ERA (3.49). The top three starters were dominant: Nuke Laloosh (16-4, 2.47), College Luckyman (21-4, 2.60), and Whokill Poole (20-5, 3.46). Three dominant members of the bullpen are CL Andy Helium (41 SV, 1.60) who set the CBO saves record, RP Sheep Sanchez (3-0, 1.31), and RP Michael Thawt (4-3, 2.54). Prediction We would be mad to choose anything but a Rad Sox sweep. Egret could steal one, but we do not believe Roxbury will allow that to happen. Roxbury 3, Egret 0. SCA Playoffs - #3 Jamaica Plain Red Rockets (77-43) vs #2 University Point Deathclaws (84-36) Season Series University Point 7, Jamaica Plain 5 June 9-11 @UP: UP 6-4, UP 5-4, JP 5-3 June 30-July 2 @JP: UP 3-1, UP 8-4, JP 9-8 September 1-3 @ UP: JP 4-3, UP 3-2, JP 4-3 September 8-10 @ JP: UP 3-0, UP 3-0, JP 5-3 Analysis On the surface, this series appears it will be the best of the four. Both the Minutemen League champions University Point and ML runner-up Jamaica Plain are good, deep teams with two of the best units facing off in an exciting series. For the Deathclaws, they were #1 in almost every offensive category including runs allowed (696) for nearly six runs a game and home runs (186). Four players hit a lot of those 186 home runs in probable Nuka Hitter of the Year 1B Barker Cocoa (.362/43/106), RF Tomas Jones (.329/36/118), CF Aesed Hayjen (.343/36/93/27 SB), and SS Austin Engill (.273/27/78). The pitching could have been better and is part of the reason why the Claws did not earn the #1 seed in 2305 though the ML seemed to be the gamut of the top three teams and an improved Spectacle Island team. University Point was 4th in runs allowed (507), 4th in Starters ERA (3.71), and 5th in Bullpen ERA (4.40). The three starters are Phlip Wallace (13-5, 3.05), Tony Bertha (15-5, 3.26), and Wilson Beachball (10-6, 4.46). In the bullpen, CL Freedom Williams (40 SV, 2.88) fell just a save short of tying for the record. RPs John Walden (7-4, 3.82) and Chase Southie (7-3, 3.72) can help win tight games late. Jamaica Plain and the Claws can almost flip their prowess where the Rockets were not as good on offense but have possibly the best starting four in baseball. On offense, they finished 4th in runs scored (597) with their best offensive categories being stolen bases (1st at 73) and base running (1st at 4.6). Two players that help to generate runs are LF Carney Cornseed (.288/38/97) and RF Damani Beebe (.261/35/93). 2B Bubb Islander (.290/3/43/38 SB) and CF Hid Matsumoto (.277/18/67/21 SB) can help generate runs when they get on base. The Rockets were just 7th in team batting average (.265), so they will need to find success against the University Point pitching. The Red Rockets can help to neutralize the University Point hitting with a good pitching corp. They finished 3rd in runs allowed (467), 1st in Starters ERA (3.49), and 3rd in Bullpen ERA (4.23). The decision for the top two starters in the playoffs, Digger Vadim (12-7, 3.13) and Chris Teddybear (11-6, 2.98), makes sense. However, for the third starter in the playoffs, Manager Mark Sellsword made an interesting decision to go with Chris Deathclaw (10-14, 4.45) over Tim Fusion (14-4, 3.52). In the bullpen, Jamaica Plain got good service from CL Doug Dee El (39 SV, 3.60), RP T-Bone Heagy (7-2, 3.45), and RP Matt Demented (4-0, 2.78). Prediction As we mentioned above, we expect this game to be our top game in the semifinals, so we will also predict this one to go the distance with a slight edge to the Deathclaws to take Game 5 at home. University Point 3, Jamaica Plain 2.

2305 CBO Playoffs
BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 24 September 2305 CBO Playoff NCA Association Semifinals Preview NCA Playoffs - #5 County Crossing Bloodbugs (72-48) vs #1 Sunshine Tidings Chemists (78-42) Season Series Sunshine Tidings 5, County Crossing 3 April 23-24 @ CC: CC 4-1, CC 5-2 May 16-17 @CC: ST 11-3, ST 5-0 June 6-7 @ST: ST 3-2, CC 3-2 August 8-9 @ ST: ST 7-1, ST 5-1 Analysis If ever a #1 team dreaded facing the #5 seed, this series would be it. The #5 seed, of course, was the 2304 NCA champions, County Crossing. This season was different, with the #1 Sunshine Tidings Chemists taking the season series, 5 games to 3, with the Chemists winning five of the last six games on the season. Sunshine Tidings made a number of moves both this season and last to show that they are trying to build a championship-quality team. Those acquired players include ace Eugene Gym (17-6, 3.26), SP Terrence Artman (13-7, 3.59), SP/RP Joey Dimes (7-3, 2 SV, 2.04), 3B Ross Merchantman (.278/30/94), LF David Seaweed (.261/23/62), SS Lernz Tentsleep (.275/35/80), and 1B Byran Assman (.261/22/66). On offense, the Chemists are all about power, finishing 2nd in the NCA in runs scored (654) based a lot on their CBO-best 219 home runs. Two of their top home run hitters are leadoff CF Ricky Ticky Laughy (.254/36/89) and RF Baktu DaWell (.324/35/89). All but 2B Paul Warwick (.257/7/48) hit at least 22 home runs. With all that power, the Chemists did not need pitching, just like the Deathclaws, right? Au contraire! Sunshine Tidings was 1st in runs allowed (434), 1st in Starters ERA (3.43), and 1st in Bullpen ERA (3.05). The combination of Gym, Artman, and Brian Bridges (16-8, 2.72) will be a tough 1-2-3 combination in each playoff game. Add to that CL Cush Baker (27 SV, 1.55) and Dime in the bullpen, and it will be difficult for County Crossing to score a lot of runs, show in the regular season with the Bugs scoring just 19 runs combined in their eight games against the Chemists. Prediction It is hard to believe that County Crossing cannot repeat its success from 2304, but the Chemists seem to be the team built best for the playoffs. Still, they have not had previous success in the playoff while the Bugs have. We're going to take the Bloodbugs: County Crossing 3, Sunshine Tidings 2. SCA Playoffs - #3 Easy Town Assaultrons (76-44) vs #2 Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (78-42) Season Series Nordhagen Beach 8, Easy Town 4 June 9-11 @ET: NB 4-3, NB 9-2, NB 4-3 June 30-July 2 @NB: NB 5-4, NB 7-3, NB 4-2 September 1-3 @ET: ET 6-0, ET 6-0, ET 8-5 September 8-10 @NB: NB 5-4, NB 2-0, ET 8-6 Analysis The season series made all the difference in the final standings in the Brotherhood League, with the #2 Nordhagen Beach Paty Boys holding an 8-4 advantage over the #3 Easy Town Assaultrons. While the Trons got a late-season sweep that contributed to the Party Boys not earning the #1 seed in the playoffs, the Boys did have two sweeps of their own earlier in the season when Easy Town had appeared to be the NCA's best team. Nordhagen Beach is now making its 9th-straight playoff appearance, including all eight years of the CBO. With all that success, though, they have won only one Sole Survivor Series (2301) and have mostly folded at some point in the NCA playoffs otherwise. This season has shown that they beat up on bad teams and become just OK against good teams, though their best record against a playoff team was against Easy Town. On offense, the Party Boys finished 4th in runs scored (600) but 2nd in home runs (195). Five players led that home run barrage, led by RF Jonathan Angelou (.279/47/100), who won the CBO home run title and fell just one home run short of tying County Crossing's Babs Rooth who hit 48 in 2304. Other big boppers on the team include CF Maxx Murtagh (.305/36/84), LF Michael Fogcrawler (.253/34/88) who still stands as the CBO's home run king (247 in full CBO, 284 overall), 1B Dustin Mart (.286/24/63), and 2B Jumper Hayes (.318/23/71). The pitching was among the best again though not comparable to the Chemists. Nordhagen Beach finished 2nd in runs allowed (446), Starters ERA (3.54), and Bullpen ERA (3.42). The three playoff starters are a tough matchup for any team: Beachboy Nut (16-8, 2.37), Ugio Church (15-5, 3.84), and Tommy Beach (13-8, 3.80). In the bullpen, David "AntAgonist" Kidd (35 SV, 2.89) had his best season. RP Handsome Frank (8-4, 2.58) and SP Lawdog Whipple (8-4, 3.42) will also contribute in late-game situations. Easy Town is making its fourth appearance overall and its first time in back-to-back seasons. Although they have never won the Brotherhood League, the Assaultrons have been competitive, including losing the first-place tiebreaker to the Boys in 2300. By our count, though, this year's version of the Assaultrons is their best yet. It all starts with having the NCA's best offense. The Trons were the best in runs scored (711), with a best batting average of .292 thanks to six players hitting over .300: probable Nuka Hitter Award winner 1B Lannie Tykeson (.365/35/100), 3B Dog Prairie (.327/22/97), CF Sharkey Lurkfodder (.322/19/66/14 SB), LF Sean Samuels (.312/22/78), SS Rick Rolled (.312/1/64), and C Tyler Shoemaker (.308/8/80). The pitching was not as good but not bad either. The Assaultrons finished 5th in runs allowed (517), 4th in Starters ERA (4.11), and 6th in Bullpen ERA (4.27). The three starters are Tykeson (14-6, 3.80), Charred Lee Widemore (12-11, 4.43), and Austen Austin (15-4, 3.81). CL Good Company Schiller (28 SV, 2.25) and Jame Functionary (6-5, 2.42) are the two main bullpen pitchers. SP Pete Pembroke (11-5, 4.18) is out for the playoffs. Prediction We are tossing this one around a lot but feel that a showdown between these two teams favors Nordhagen Beach. In fact, we will state this series as the one we are second most confident in behind predicting Roxbury to sweep. So, when in doubt, go with the team that seems to be the better: Nordhagen Beach 3, Easy Town 1.

2305 CBO Playoffs
BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 30 September 2305 NCA Semifinal: #5 County Crossing Bloodbugs vs #1 Sunshine Tidings Chemists We predicted that County Crossing would pull off the upset in this series, but we did not predict that it would be a sweep, which in itself was surprising. Probably of no surprise is that LF Babs Rooth stepped up when it counted most and played again as the top player in this semifinal matchup. The Bloodbugs now return to the NCA Final as they did last season when they beat Nordhagen Beach in five games. Game 1: County Crossing 6 at Sunshine Tidings 0 Road Win Lifts County Crossing to 1-0 Lead in ASF Gavin Eviritts and the County Crossing Bloodbugs opened the Association Semifinal in brilliant fashion today, traveling to Sunshine Tidings and shutting out the host Chemists at ArcJet Systems Stadium 6-0 to secure an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Eviritts, the Bloodbugs right-hander, threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. The Chemists had trouble solving Eviritts, who surrendered no runs on 5 hits over 8 innings. "Feels good to get the job done," Eviritts said after the game. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at ArcJet Systems Stadium in Sunshine Tidings. Game 2: County Crossing 7 at Sunshine Tidings 6 County Crossing Tops Sunshine Tidings Again, 7-6 A sweep is in sight. The County Crossing Bloodbugs overcame a spirited performance by Sunshine Tidings center fielder Ricky Ticky Laughy to knock off the Chemists, 7-6, at ArcJet Systems Stadium in Game 2 of the Association Semifinal. Laughy belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice but could not will the Chemists to victory. County Crossing now sits on a 2-0 advantage and has its eyes on sweeping the best-of-5 series. County Crossing used a clutch hit from Cy Thompson to get the win. The shortstop drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bloodbugs ahead, 7-6. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer. "Nice win for us," said Thompson. "Now we'll go after the next one." Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at Beantown Brewery Stadium in County Crossing. Game 3: Sunshine Tidings 3 at County Crossing 7 Bloodbugs Move on to Association Championship The County Crossing Bloodbugs had all facets of their game going and have swept the Sunshine Tidings Chemists in the Association Semifinal. County Crossing now heads off to the Association Championship, after wrapping up the series with a 7-3 win. Babs Rooth was named MVP, as he put up a .500 batting average, with a .538 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 5 runs. In Game 3, he was 2 for 3 with a home run, two runs scores, and two runs driven in. The County Crossing Bloodbugs don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Easy Town Assaultrons - Nordhagen Beach Party Boys series. Easy Town leads the series 2 games to 1. The Association Championship schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal finishes. NCA Semifinal: #3 Easy Town Assaultrons vs #2 Nordhagen Beach Party Boys This was a great matchup of two teams that battled all season for the top spot in the Brotherhood League. We picked the Party Boys to win in four games, but instead they went the distance. The Boys now enter their sixth overall NCA final in the past seven seasons, as well as their second-straight against County Crossing and third matchup overall. Each team won the final once versus the other. Game 1: Easy Town 9 at Nordhagen Beach 1 Road Win Lifts Easy Town to 1-0 Lead in ASF The Easy Town Assaultrons started the Association Semifinal in style today, winning on the road against the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium by a score of 9-1 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Assaultrons pitcher Lannie Tykeson excelled. He threw 9.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Tykeson was effective for Easy Town, seldom allowing the Party Boys to square up a pitch. The left-hander tossed 96 pitches over 9 innings. He limited Nordhagen Beach to just 1 run on 4 hits. "I felt we were ready to go," said Easy Town manager Tim Haysneedle. "Our pregame was pretty good." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop. Game 2: Easy Town 2 at Nordhagen Beach 4 Mart Blasts Assaultrons, Party Boys Take Game 2, 4-2 Nordhagen Beach first baseman Dustin Mart produced all the offense the Party Boys would need today in the club's 4-2 win over the Easy Town Assaultrons. Mart went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once, while Nordhagen Beach moved into a tie in the Association Semifinal. The Party Boys and Assaultrons are now even at 1-1 in the best-of-5 series. The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth when Mart, who finished 2nd in the NCA in home runs with 29 in 2300, hit a grand slam home run. It propelled the Party Boys into the lead, 4-2. "It was a good effort all around," said Mart. Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at Easy Town Field in Easy Town. Game 3: Nordhagen Beach 3 at Easy Town 4 Assaultrons Clip Party Boys 4-3 in ASF Contest The Easy Town Assaultrons moved to within one game of the Association Championship today, downing the visiting Nordhagen Beach Party Boys at Easy Town Field by a score of 4-3. Assaultrons left fielder Sean Samuels did some major damage. He went 2 for 4 with a triple and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win gives the Assaultrons a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal. Samuels contributed in the bottom of the fifth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 2-run triple. It was one at-bat among others that helped Easy Town get the win. "We ground out the win," said Samuels. "That's all that matters." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Easy Town Field in Easy Town. Game 4: Nordhagen Beach 3 at Easy Town 1 Nordhagen Beach Win to Pull Even With Easy Town The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys and the Easy Town Assaultrons will take the Association Semifinal to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation today, the Party Boys beat the Assaultrons 3-1 at Easy Town Field to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Nordhagen Beach left-hander Beachboy Nut had a big role in the win. He threw 7.0 innings allowing 1 runs. The Party Boys got a gift in the top of the fourth inning, when they were leading 1-0. With one out and the bases loaded, Beachboy Nut reached on an error by the center fielder, driving in 1 run. It made the score 2-0, Nordhagen Beach. "We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Nut told the Nordhagen Beach News. Game 5 is scheduled for Saturday at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop. Game 5: Easy Town 2 at Nordhagen Beach 9 Party Boys Prevail, as Association Semifinal Goes to the Wire The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys and Easy Town Assaultrons put on a classic Association Semifinal that was in question until the final game. In the end, Nordhagen Beach won the deciding contest by a score of 9-2, to take the series 3-2. Jonathan Angelou of the Boys earned Game MVP honors after going 2 for 4 with a home run, a walk, two runs, and four RBI. "It doesn't get much tighter than that. To win a series in the last game is a thrill," said Dustin Mart, who earned series MVP honors for Nordhagen Beach. "Our guys are breathing a little easier now." For the series, Mart hit .250 with a .286 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys will play against the County Crossing Bloodbugs in the next round. County Crossing won their series against the Sunshine Tidings Chemists 3 games to 0. The Association Championship schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal finishes. SCA Semifinal: #3 Jamaica Plain Red Rockets vs #2 University Point We thought this would be the best series of the playoffs, but it was tied for the easiest as the #2 seed Deathclaws swept their Minutemen League rivals. The Claws have now reached the SCA Final in four of the past five seasons. Last season, the Rockets won this 2 vs 3 matchup. Game 1: Jamaica Plain 1 at University Point 14 Tarberry, Deathclaws Wallop Red Rockets in Game 1 of ASF The University Point Deathclaws started the Association Semifinal in style today, downing the visiting Jamaica Plain Red Rockets at Gwinnett Brewery Park by a score of 14-1 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Deathclaws left fielder Ed Tarberry went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 5. In the bottom of the second, Tarberry had one of his most important at-bats: a 3-run home run off Digger Vadim that staked the Deathclaws to a 4-1 lead. "There was a kid in the stands with a sign that said 'University Point Deathclaws (probably) 2305 Sole Survivor Series Champions'," Tarberry told reporters after the game. "I told him, 'Premature, but I like the confidence.'" The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Gwinnett Brewery Park in Boston. Game 2: Jamaica Plain 4 at University Point 5 Cocoa, Deathclaws Sink Red Rockets Again in Game 2 The University Point Deathclaws moved to within one game of the Association Championship today, downing the visiting Jamaica Plain Red Rockets at Gwinnett Brewery Park by a score of 5-4. Deathclaws first baseman Barker Cocoa did some major damage. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win gives the Deathclaws a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal. The game turned with two out in the bottom of the seventh when Cocoa, who led the SCA in OPS with 1.170 last year, hit a run-scoring double. It propelled the Deathclaws into the lead, 5-4. "I got everyone together and told them they did great today," University Point manager Woody Lumpkin told BNN reporters after the game. "But I warned them that even if we make it out of the Association Semifinal, it's only going to get harder." Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday at Red Rockets Stadium in Jamaica Plain. Game 3: University Point 7 at Jamaica Plain 5 Deathclaws Dominate, Sweep Association Semifinal The University Point Deathclaws made it look easy and are heading to the Association Championship. They have ousted the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets in a sweep, the final win coming by a 7-5 score, clinching the 3-0 series win. RF Tomas Jones of the Claws was Game MVP, going 2 for 3 with a home run, two walks, a score, and three RBI. "Everything's clicking for us right now," said Ed Tarberry, who was named MVP for the series. Tarberry hit .583 with a .571 on-base percentage. He added 1 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 3 runs. The University Point Deathclaws don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Roxbury Rad Sox - Egret Ninjas series. That series is tied at 1 game each. The Association Championship schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal finishes. SCA Semifinal: #4 Egret Ninjas vs #1 Roxbury Rad Sox This was the easiest series to predict. Roxbury was 12-0 against Egret in the regular season and held the largest record gap (24 games) in CBO playoff history. Everything pointed to the Rad Sox making it to their third-straight SCA Final. Instead . . . Shock! Awe! Miracles! The Ninjas pulled off the biggest upset in CBO playoffs history, reaching the SCA Final for the first time in franchise history in their first trip to the playoffs other than in 2296 before the NCA and SCA existed. That season, Egret was defeated as the #5 overall seed by #4 Abernathy in the first round of the playoffs. Game 1: Egret 2 at Roxbury 8 Home Field Advantage: Williams, Roxbury Open Association Semifinal with Win The Roxbury Rad Sox started the Association Semifinal in style today, downing the visiting Egret Ninjas at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury by a score of 8-2 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Rad Sox left fielder Bloatfly Williams went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The Rad Sox picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching. The Association Championship schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal finishes. Playoff Tree

October 2305
Hmmmm. Egret's two minor league teams won championships and the Ninjas just had a major upset over Roxbury. Franchise of destiny???
BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, GBRL, Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 1 October 2305 The October 1 Super Post CBO Players of the Month NCA Hitter - Zeldolph Violet battered North Charles Association pitchers all September and wound up taking home the Batter of the Month Award. "I've been around Commonwealth Baseball Organization long enough to know you really have to work hard day in and day out to be able to put up this kind of consistency," the 28-year-old Violet told reporters. "I put in a lot of work, even on the days I might not take the field, and it's always nice when everything comes together for me like it did this last month." In 13 games, Violet hit .460 with 10 home runs, 20 RBIs and scored 14 runs. So far this season Violet has 44 home runs and a .327 batting average. NCA Pitcher - September was a very good month for Eugene Gym of the Sunshine Tidings Chemists. He held opposing hitters for a .205 average and took home the North Charles Association Pitcher of the Month award. In 4 starts he claimed a 4-0 record as he put up a 1.69 ERA and struck out 29 in 32 innings. This season Gym has compiled a 17-6 record with a 3.26 ERA. NCA Rookie - Youngster Ken Debate emerged as the latest North Charles Association Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Starlight deserved the honor, batting .415 with 5 home runs and 10 runs batted in. Is the month of September a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Debate enjoy the limelight. In 27 games this year Debate has posted a .359 average and put up these numbers: 6 home runs, 22 RBIs and 11 runs scored. SCA Hitter - When Homestay Lovetap stepped up to the plate in September he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the South Charles Association Batter of the Month award. The young Spectacle Island first baseman posted a .420 batting average with 10 home runs, 17 RBIs and scored 15 runs. Lovetap also worked pitchers for 6 walks to post a .482 on-base percentage. So far this season Lovetap is hitting .286 with 45 home runs. SCA Pitcher - When Hollywood Joe Horn takes the hill, there's a good chance for a Quincy victory. At least that's the way it was in May. He excelled with a 3-0 mark and a 1.61 ERA in 3 starts, tossed 22.1 innings, fanned 15, and held enemy hitters to a .145 average. That's why the Gunners star was honored today as the Pitcher of the Month by the South Charles Association. For the year Horn has compiled a 8-10 record with a 4.66 ERA. SCA Rookie - End Yamada's eyes seem to light up whenever he sees the baseball. The young Vault 81 second baseman has been hitting everything in sight for the better part of a month. In September he was voted the Rookie of the Month. During the month he hit .306 with 2 doubles, no triples and 5 home runs. Yamada also scored 10 times and drove in 13 runs. To date, Yamada has collected 104 hits for a .292 average. He has posted 21 home runs, scored 51 runs and driven in 76 runs. 2305 CBO Playoffs
BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 1 October 2305 CBO Playoff Association Championship Series Preview NCA Playoffs - #5 County Crossing Bloodbugs (72-48) vs #2 Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (78-42) Season Series Nordhagen Beach 7, County Crossing 5 May 5-7 @NB: NB 2-0, CC 9-3, CC 10-8 May 12-14 @CC: CC 7-5, NB 7-3, NB 10-6 July 28-30 @CC: CC 6-3, NB 7-1, NB 7-0 August 18-20 @NB: NB 10-7, CC 3-0, NB 5-4 Analysis This matchup will mark the third time that the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys and County Crossing Bloodbugs have met in the playoffs, all in the NCA Championship Series. In 2301, #1 seed Nordhagen Beach swept the #3 Bloodbugs on their way to winning the Sole Survivor series over the Atom Cats, 4 games to 1. Last season, the Bugs got revenge over the Boys, winning the series 4 games to 1 before falling to Roxbury in the Sole Survivor Series,4 games to 1. This season sees a role reversal from last season when the Bloodbugs claimed their second-straight Brotherhood League title. Now Nordhagen Beach is battling for BL supremacy once again as they controlled the BL from 2298-2302. The Boys are looking to make it to their fourth Sole Survivor Series. Their first trip was in the pre-CBO era when they made it as the BL's 2nd seed and 6th seed overall but fell to #1 Oberland, 4 games to 2. Nordhagen Beach won it all as mentioned in 2301 when they were the top team in the CBO all season. The Party Boys returned to the Sole Survivor Series one more time in 2302 but fell to University Point in seven games. County Crossing is making its fifth-consecutive playoff appearance with five appearances overall. Other than a dropoff this season, they had improved every season from 2301 until last season when they made it to their first and only Sole Survivor Series. While they are the fifth-seed this season, know that they are a dangerous team that could definitely win eight more games this season. Looking at the teams, we would give the Bloodbugs most advantages in the lineups, while we favor Nordhagen Beach's pitching staff. Players to watch for on the Bugs include 1B Zeldolph Violet who hit .372 with four home runs and 12 RBI against Nordhagen Beach and LF Babs Rooth who was .333 with four homers and 12 RBI. Bendy Barman (2-0, 3.38 against the Boys) was the most successful pitcher in the season series but is not expected to start this series. For the Party Boys, they found a lot of power versus County Crossing in 2305. RF Jonathan Angelou (.271/6/15 versus the Bugs), CF Maxx Murtagh (.432/5/15), 1B Dustin Mart (.319/4/11), and 3B Burtie Cuttooth (.367/3/5) all went off on the Bloodbugs. Ace SP Beachboy Nut was 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA in his two matchups against them. Prediction Last season, all the advantages seemed to be in County Crossing's favor. Because they were better than the Party Boys the past two seasons before this one, we are almost leaning on them to have the advantage. However, for some reason the 2305 Nordhagen Beach team matches up better. We hope this series is fierce and competitive, and that is what we will predict. Nordhagen Beach 4, County Crossing 3. SCA Playoffs - #4 Egret Ninjas (64-56) vs #2 University Point Deathclaws (84-36) Season Series University Point 6, Egret 2 May 16-17 @EGR: UP 8-2, UP 3-1 May 23-24 @UP: UP 4-1, UP 4-3 June 6-7 @UP: UP 8-5, UP 4-3 August 22-23 @EGR: EGR 6-2, EGR 3-2 Analysis These two teams have different pedigrees in their CBO success, which again would make it seem obvious which team has the bigger advantage. We are not going to assume as much as we did last round, though, and really look at how these teams match up heading into University Point's return to the SCA Championship Series while the Egret Ninjas are making their first appearance. University Point is making its sixth-straight playoff appearance and sixth appearance overall. This is the fourth time that the Deathclaws have made the SCA Championship Series where they are 1-2 in series. Their one win was in 2302 when the #4 seed Claws took down #2 Jamaica Plain in seven games and ended up upsetting the defending champion Boys in seven games in the Sole Survivor Series. Egret has never made the CBO playoffs and only made it to the playoffs once in 2296 as the Railroad League's 2nd-place team and #5 overall seed. In that one series, they were dismissed by the #4 seed, Abernathy, three games to two. That season, the Sole Survivor Series was a battle of two Brotherhood League teams when the #7 The Slog Ghouls won the series over the #3 Finch Farm Four Leafs, four games to one. There is only one player--backup RF Jason Foghorn (.295/1/12)--from that 2296 Egret squad still with the team, but they do get to face their ace pitcher from that season, Phlip Wallace, in the SCA Championship Series' first game. The Ninjas' starting CF from that 2296 season, Bill Chaney (.272/12/28), is also with the Claws. Looking at the lineups, the Deathclaws seem to have every positional advantage over Egret with the one spot in the lineup where the Ninjas seem to have the advantage is the 2nd slot. SS Hopper Hayes (.293/7/37) is slightly better there than University Point's 2B Chris Recore (.257/11/44). Otherwise, the hitting favors the Claws. For pitching, Egret may have a slight advantage with the ace vs ace matchup favoring Egret's Tup Mallory (15-7, 2.99) over Wallace (13-5, 3.05). That could make a difference if this series reaches seven games. Prediction If the Ninjas can somehow extend this series, we would give them that advantage. However, we think the Ninjas may steal an early game at best but expect the Deathclaws to dominate otherwise. University Point 4, Egret 1.

Hey hey, busy holiday season, but hope it's going well for you. Been keeping me away. I think the playoffs/end of season is shaping up to be pretty entertaining despite early season worries. Honestly, I think if we got our "fan mindset" a little more invested in the right side of the bracket we'd get a little more excited each year haha. There's a lot more dynamism in those sectors than with our classic favorites. Of course I like seeing the Boys, and now the Bugs be familiar faces, a mix of old and new each year, but I think our diamonds in the rough have been sitting here all along with exciting things happening.

2305 CBO Playoffs
BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 30 September 2305 SCA Association Championship: #4 Egret Ninjas vs #2 University Point Deathclaws We thought that the Deathclaws would pull off this series in five games with Egret getting its one victory early in the series. Well, we were spot on in that prediction. The Ninjas were able to wrestle away Game 1, but the Claws prevailed in every other game. Egret should be proud of its 2305 season since they were not a team expected to be there. GM Gunner Sprague and staff may need to make some moves to guarantee that they can return to the playoffs, but the overall achievements of this team can help a lot in their enthusiasm for the 2306 season. Game 1: Egret 5 at University Point 4 Ninjas Edge Deathclaws 5-4 to Open ACS The Egret Ninjas started the Association Championship in style today, winning on the road against the University Point Deathclaws at Gwinnett Brewery Park by a score of 5-4 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Ninjas first baseman Jesus Church excelled. He went 3 for 3 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Jace Nightwatch, the 26-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Nightwatch contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put Egret up, 5-2. "We squandered some opportunities," said University Point manager Woody Lumpkin. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Gwinnett Brewery Park in Boston. Game 2: Egret 3 at University Point 5 Raucous Gwinnett Brewery Park Crowd Propels Deathclaws to 5-3 Victory; Series Tied at 1 The University Point Deathclaws topped the Egret Ninjas by the score of 5-3 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the Association Championship today. The largest share of the credit belongs to University Point starter Tony Bertha, who threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball in the win. Tomas Jones hit a 2-run double off Mat Nielsen in the bottom of the first, which put the Deathclaws in front, 2-0. In addition to the double, Jones had 1 single, while going 2 for 4. "We've got a great group of guys," Jones said, "and we're having fun right now." Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at Fallon Field at Egret Tours Marina in Egret Tours Marina. Game 3: University Point 7 at Egret 5 Road Win Lifts University Point to 2-1 Lead in ACS Riding the 3-hit performance of center fielder Aesed Hayjen, the University Point Deathclaws got a road win against the Egret Ninjas, 7-5, in Game 3 of the Association Championship today. Hayjen was 3-5 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Deathclaws, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1. In the top of the second, Hayjen had one of his most important at-bats: a 2-run single off Brahmin Lover Beardman that staked the Deathclaws to a 3-1 lead. "I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Hayjen told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Fallon Field at Egret Tours Marina in Egret Tours Marina. Game 4: University Point 9 at Egret 6, 11 inn. Almost There: University Point On Cusp of ACS Triumph After 9-6 Win With right fielder Tomas Jones leading the charge, the University Point Deathclaws got past the Egret Ninjas, 9-6, in extra innings in Game 4 of the Association Championship today. Jones went 4 for 6 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 at Fallon Field at Egret Tours Marina as University Point managed to take a 3-1 lead in the best-of-7 series. Jones had a clutch at-bat in the top of the seventh for the Deathclaws. Coming up with a runner on 1st and University Point trailing 5-4, he hit a 2-run home run. "I'm just trying to make good contact," said Jones, "one at-bat at a time." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Fallon Field at Egret Tours Marina in Egret Tours Marina. Game 5: University Point 6 at Egret 1 Deathclaws Heading to Sole Survivor Series The University Point Deathclaws will continue the trek towards a Sole Survivor Series title, while the Egret Ninjas are headed home for the season. University Point won the Association Championship with a clinching game 6-1 victory at Fallon Field at Egret Tours Marina, concluding the series at 4-1. 1B Barker Cocoa was the Game MVP, going 3 for 4 with a home run, a walk, a run, and an RBI. RF Tomas Jones hit his second home run of the series and ninth RBI for a back-to-back affair with Cocoa in the top of the 5th. "We didn't want this thing to go any further, that's for sure," Jones said after officially being named series MVP. He turned in a dominant offensive performance to win the award, with a .500 batting average, .500 on-base percentage, 2 home runs, 9 RBI and 4 runs scored. The University Point Deathclaws don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the County Crossing Bloodbugs - Nordhagen Beach Party Boys series. Nordhagen Beach leads the series 3 games to 0. The Sole Survivor Series schedule will be announced after the Association Championship finishes. NCA Association Championship: #5 County Crossing Bloodbugs vs #2 Nordhagen Beach Party Boys We predicted this series would go seven with the Party Boys prevailing, and we were exactly right. Granted, our projections are informed but still up to the baseball gods, but we are proud of going 100% in our predictions for this round. As far as this series was concerned, it was a classic, and will make the Sole Survivor Series tough to compare, especially if that series does not go seven games. For County Crossing and Nordhagen Beach, it looked to be a snoozer when the Party Boys jumped out to a 3-0 series lead. However, this Bloodbugs team has a "never-say-die" attitude and fought back before the Boys figured out how to win again in Game 7. Game 1: County Crossing 3 at Nordhagen Beach 7 Association Championship Game 1 Victory for Nut and Nordhagen Beach The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys started the Association Championship in style today, downing the visiting County Crossing Bloodbugs at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium by a score of 7-3 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Party Boys left-hander Beachboy Nut threw 7.0 innings allowing 1 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, Nordhagen Beach first baseman Dustin Mart had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and no one out, Mart stroked a 2-run double to left. It made the score 3-1, Nordhagen Beach. For the game, he went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. "We put it together today and came out with the win," Mart said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop. Game 2: County Crossing 1 at Nordhagen Beach 7 Murtagh, Party Boys Sink Bloodbugs Again in Game 2 Riding the 4-hit performance of center fielder Maxx Murtagh, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys stopped the visiting County Crossing Bloodbugs, 7-1, in Game 2 of the Association Championship today. Murtagh went 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Party Boys, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0. One pivotal at-bat came with one out in the top of the fourth. With runners on 1st and 2nd and County Crossing trailing 2-0, Tommy Beach needed to bear down against Darth Horse. Beach won the battle, as Horse lined out and the Party Boys went on to win. The next game is set to be played for Thursday, October 5th , 2305 at Beantown Brewery Stadium in County Crossing. Game 3: Nordhagen Beach 4 at County Crossing 1 Party Boys Win to Extend Series Lead to 3-0 The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys are one game away from a sweep of the County Crossing Bloodbugs today after a road win at Beantown Brewery Stadium, 4-1. Party Boys left-hander Ugio Church had a strong outing. He threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Nordhagen Beach now holds a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Association Championship. Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jumper Hayes? The Nordhagen Beach second baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Party Boys on top, 3-1. For the game, Hayes had 1 double and 2 singles in 4 at-bats. Church attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Beantown Brewery Stadium in County Crossing. Game 4: Nordhagen Beach 1 at County Crossing 5 County Crossing Breaks Through for First Win in Association Championship; Now Trails 3-1 The County Crossing Bloodbugs have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Nordhagen Beach Party Boys, winning 5-1 at Beantown Brewery Stadium today. Bloodbugs right-hander Gavin Eviritts threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Bloodbugs to 3-1 in the best-of-7 Association Championship. Darth Horse, the County Crossing catcher, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 2-1, Bloodbugs. For the game, Horse went 2-4 with 2 singles. Eviritts said his team "played with determination." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Beantown Brewery Stadium in County Crossing. Game 5: Nordhagen Beach 2 at County Crossing 5 Thompson Blasts Party Boys, Bloodbugs Take Game 5, 5-2 The County Crossing Bloodbugs have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Nordhagen Beach Party Boys, winning 5-2 at Beantown Brewery Stadium today. Bloodbugs shortstop Cy Thompson hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The win cuts the deficit facing the Bloodbugs to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Association Championship. The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fourth when Thompson hit a solo home run. It propelled the Bloodbugs into the lead, 3-2. "I got everyone together and told them they did great today," County Crossing manager Crow Guai told BNN reporters after the game. "But I warned them that even if we make it out of the Association Championship, it's only going to get harder." The next game is set to be played for Monday, October 9th , 2305 at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop. Game 6: County Crossing 10 at Nordhagen Beach 0 County Crossing Win to Pull Even With Nordhagen Beach The County Crossing Bloodbugs and the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys will take the Association Championship to a decisive 7th game. Facing a must-win situation today, the Bloodbugs shut out the Party Boys 10-0 at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. County Crossing left-hander Whip Lashley did his part. He threw 9.0 innings of shutout ball. Lashley, who was born in Attleboro, Massachusetts, threw 88 pitches over 9 innings, while allowing no runs. "We did a lot of things right," said Lashley. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop. Game 7: County Crossing 1 at Nordhagen Beach 5 Party Boys Win Association Championship Depending on your loyalties, the Association Championship was either thrilling or heartbreaking. The series went down to its final game, with the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys and the County Crossing Bloodbugs giving their fans plenty of drama. In the end, the Party Boys came out on top, winning 5-1 at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium today to take the series 4-3. Beachboy Nut earned Game MVP honors, winning his second game of the series. In 8.2 innings, Nut allowed one earned run on two hits with two walks and six strikeouts. he entered the 9th inning having allowed just one hit. In the 9th, he walked Long Hall to start. Hall advanced to 2nd on a wild pitch and scored on Babs Rooth's two-out double. David "AntAgonist" Kidd came on to record the final out in the series. "We're lucky to be going into the Sole Survivor Series," said Nordhagen Beach CF Maxx Murtagh. "If all the series are like this, it'll definitely be an entertaining postseason." Murtagh earned series MVP honors, hitting for a .400 average, with 2 home runs, 4 RBI and 5 runs scored. The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys will play against the University Point Deathclaws in the next round. University Point won their series against the Egret Ninjas 4 games to 1. The Sole Survivor Series schedule will be announced after the Association Championship finishes. Playoff Tree

2305 CBO Playoffs
BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 12 October 2305 CBO Sole Survivor Series Preview NCA #2 Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (78-42) vs SCA #2 University Point Deathclaws (84-36) Season Series University Point 1, Nordhagen Beach 0 April 6 @UP: UP 6-1 In their sole game this season in just the third game of the season, the Deathclaws easily handled the Party Boys. Behind an impressive start by Wilson Beachball, University Point beat Nordhagen Beach, 6-1. Chase Southie earned save number 1 this season. The loss drops the Party Boys to 1-2. In the top of the eighth, Nordhagen Beach were in rally mode. The score was 4-1, University Point, with one out and runners on 1st and 2nd. But on a 1-1 pitch, Mike Swift flew out. Game 1 Lineups Nordhagen Beach Party Boys University Point Deathclaws Analysis This series marks a rematch of the 2302 season when the 4th-seeded Deathclaws from the South Charles Association upset the 1st-seeded and defending champions Party Boys, 4 games to 3. In that Sole Survivor Series, the Boys took a 2-0 lead at home and also won Game 4 at University Point to take a 3-1 series lead. However, the Claws won their final game at home and then Games 6 and 7 at Nordhagen Beach to clinch the series. This season, University Point is the favored team, having a six-game advantage over the Party Boys, including a victory in their sole matchup. In a stats versus stats comparison, the Claws have all the advantages, while the Boys get the overall pitching nod. On offense, the Deathclaws finished 1st in the SCA in runs scored (696), Average (.295), OBP (.374), OPS (.854), WAR (31.5), wOBA (.367), and Home Runs (186). For Nordhagen Beach, they were lower in every category but home runs. They finished 4th in the NCA in runs scored (600), 4th in Average (.267), 5th in OBP (.345), 4th in OPS (.802), 4th in WAR (22.2), 4th in wOBA (.346), and 2nd in Home Runs (195). For pitching, University Point was not as successful. They finished 4th in the SCA in runs allowed (507), 4th in Starters ERA (3.71), 5th in Bullpen ERA (4.40), 5th in FIP (4.22), 6th in WAR (17.1), and 5th in Strikeouts (728). The Party Boys were much better in every category, though they were not the best pitching staff in their association. They finished second in the NCA in runs allowed (446), Starters ERA (3.54), Bullpen ERA (3.42), FIP (3.99), WAR (20.6), and Strikeouts (817). Position vs Position - OSA Talent Ratings C - Swift vs Cherry - Adv: UP 1B - Mart vs Cocoa - Adv: UP 2B - Hayes vs Recore - Adv: NB 3B - Cuttooth vs Country - Adv: UP SS - Shroud vs Engill - Adv: UP LF - Fogcrawler vs Tarberry - Adv: NB CF - Murtagh vs Hayjen - Adv: UP RF - Angelou vs Jones - Adv: UP SP 1 - Nut vs Wallace - Adv: NB SP 2 - Church vs Bertha - Adv: UP SP 3 - Beach vs Beachball - Adv: NB CL - Kidd vs Williams - Adv: UP RP 1 - Whipple (SP) vs Walden - Adv: UP RP 2 - Frank vs Southie - Adv: UP Prediction Because the Party Boys' Association Championship series went longer than University Point's series, their pitching staff is not as rested, meaning that Nordhagen Beach is pitching their 3rd starter versus the Claws' ace. That tips the balance overall in University Point's favor. Our game-by-game prediction thus goes this way: Game 1 - UP Game 2 - NB Game 3 - UP Game 4 - UP Game 5 - NB Game 6 - UP We are predicting the Deathclaws to repeat their success against Nordhagen Beach in the Sole Survivor Series and win it all in six games.

What an upset! I can't believe Roxbury went out first round!
Not surprised the Deathclaws ran through everything. I think they're going to finish it off |

It would have been something indeed, but I suppose sometimes there's simply victory in not getting swept, and the Ninjas can be back next year.

The South Charles Association overall has been better, evidenced by winning 6 of 7 Sole Survivor Series. University Point's offense has been something to behold this season and will overpower any pitching staff in a series.

Hopefully GM Gunner Sprague is not too hard-headed and will seek to upgrade some of the positions lacking in talent. The Ninjas have five prospects in the Top 100 that they can use to maneuver a few key players.

2305 CBO Playoffs
BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 15 October 2305 2305 Sole Survivor Series - Games 1 and 2 at University Point Game 1: Nordhagen Beach 3 at University Point 7 Home Field Advantage: Cherry, University Point Open Sole Survivor Series with Win The University Point Deathclaws started the Sole Survivor Series in style today, downing the visiting Nordhagen Beach Party Boys at Gwinnett Brewery Park by a score of 7-3 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Deathclaws catcher Shawn Cherry was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, University Point first baseman Barker Cocoa had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and one out, Cocoa stroked a 2-run home run to right. It made the score 2-0, University Point. For the game, he went 1 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. "We played hard and won," said Cherry. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.' The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Gwinnett Brewery Park in Boston. Game 2: Nordhagen Beach 8 at University Point 2 Cuttooth, Party Boys Wallop Deathclaws in Game 2 of SSS Nordhagen Beach third baseman Burtie Cuttooth was the difference-maker for the Party Boys in what turned into a shootout with the University Point Deathclaws. Cuttooth earned accolades after going 3-for-5 in the 8-2 Party Boys win. With the victory, the Party Boys moved into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-7 series. Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Michael Fogcrawler? The Nordhagen Beach left fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Party Boys on top, 3-0. For the game, Fogcrawler had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats. "We'll enjoy this win," said Cuttooth. "But there's more we hope to accomplish." The next game is set to be played for Sunday, October 15th , 2305 at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop. Quincy Gunners Update Uniforms The Quincy Gunners are going to be in new uniforms in 2306 with a cleaner, more updated look. 2305 CBO Playoffs
BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 18 October 2305 2305 Sole Survivor Series University Point Runs Away with 2305 Title The University Point Deathclaws are the 2305 champions, winning their second Sole Survivor Series, both over Nordhagen Beach, in five games. The Deathclaws had an answer for everything that the Party Boys threw at them and had their pitching step up in the SSS, holding the Party Boys to three total runs in three games at Nordhagen Beach. The Claws' first championship was in 2302 when they came into the playoffs as the fourth seed but was able to defeat the defending champion Boys in seven games. While Roxbury seemed to be the team to beat in the CBO, University Point sported the second-best regular season and lost only two games of 11 in the playoffs on their way to the championship. The Deathclaws swept Jamaica Plain in three games in the SCA Semifinals, beat the Egret Ninjas in five games in the SCA Association Championship, and then beat the Boys in five games in the Sole Survivor Series, sporting an 11-2 postseason record. Game 3: University Point 5 at Nordhagen Beach 2 Road Win Lifts University Point to 2-1 Lead in SSS Starter Wilson Beachball was sensational for the University Point Deathclaws in his team's 5-2 triumph over the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys in Game 3 of the Sole Survivor Series today. Beachball pitched well, but University Point picked up the win to take a 2-1 lead in the series. It could have been a different outcome for University Point, had it not been for Austin Engill, the 27-year old shortstop . Engill contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put University Point up, 2-0. Engill called the win the result of "everyone being in sync." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop. Game 4: University Point 4 at Nordhagen Beach 1 Almost There: University Point On Cusp of Sole Survivor Series Triumph After 4-1 Win With starter Phlip Wallace leading the charge, the University Point Deathclaws defeated the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys, 4-1, in Game 4 of the Sole Survivor Series today. The left-hander threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium to help University Point take a 3-1 lead in the best-of-7 series. University Point used the timely hitting of Bobb County to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Deathclaws on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer. Wallace said his team "played with determination." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop. Game 5: University Point 6 at Nordhagen Beach 0 University Point Wins Sole Survivor Series! Sometimes the winner is the one who got the lucky bounces and the lucky calls, and sometimes the winner is just the one who played better. It was the latter case in 2305, as the University Point Deathclaws topped the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys 6-0 tonight at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium to win the Sole Survivor Series. It was the 2nd title in franchise history. Starter Tony Bertha and RP John Walden combined for the shutout. Bertha allowed six hits, walked three, and struck out three in 7.0 innings. Walden did not allow a hit and struck out four in the final two innings, earning the save since he entered the game with the Claws up 3-0. CF Aesed Hayjen had the best game offensively, going 3 for 4 with a walk, two runs scored, and a run batted in. Probable Nuka Hitter Award winner Barker Cocoa was just 1 for 5, but he hit a two-run double in the 5th inning and added an extra RBI for three in the game. "When you play for championships, you have to play better than the team in the other dugout. We did that in this series, and all year. Now we're the best team in baseball," said University Point second baseman Chris Recore, who was named series MVP. The Deathclaws took the series 4-1. The new titleholders completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the South Charles Association Minutemen League and an 84-36 record. University Point manager Woody Lumpkin grinned and nodded when asked to comment on Recore's words. "Chris said it best -- we played better than the other team," the skipper said. Hometown officials announced they were already planning a "grand celebration" for the winners in the days to come. Final Playoff Tree
