For their proposed move, I am looking for a slight rebrand, not just a swap of the CBO and minor league team. I like the shamrock green and yellow combination. I also like the Fighting Irish Fallout Boy for their logo, which I would probably feature more on the uniform, either on the home jersey or the cap. I'll play around with my uniform maker programs to see what sticks for me.

August 2306
BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 20 August 2306 CBO Analysis With 100 games down, there are just four weeks remaining in the 2306 season. While no teams have clinched a spot in the playoffs, two teams--Goodneighbor and FHE--know that their seasons are definitely over on September 16. The race to the playoffs is also not set just yet, though we have a good idea who will be there in the South Charles Association. For the North Charles Association, there are still some questions. We'll break those down in the league updates. But first, here's the Top 5. County Crossing is again the #1 team after going 6-4 in the past two weeks and taking over the top record in the CBO. The Bloodbugs got swept at Starlight (#9), won two over Nordhagen Beach (#10), split with Bunker Hill (#14), and then swept Salem (#11) on the road. Sunshine Tidings rises to #2 this week with a 7-3 mark and a five-game winning streak to drop their Institute League Magic # to 13. The Chemists split with the Witch Hats, won two of three at Fort Hagen (#15), swept Easy Town (#5) on the road, and then swept Lexington (#22). Vault 81 is the #3 team, going 6-3 the past two weeks and now leading in the South Charles Association and Railroad League by 2.5 games. The Dwellers split at Quincy (#19), won two over FHE (#23), split with Goodneighbor (#24), and then won both games at Diamond City (#18) before the third game was radstormed out. Jamaica Plain comes in at #4 with a 6-4 mark to draw them to within one game of 1st place in a tight Minutemen League race. The Red Rockets swept at the Yao Guai, won two over the Hancocks, split with the Swatters, and then swept the Gunners. Easy Town rounds out the Top 5 after a disappointing 3-7 stretch dropped them out of 1st place in their own league. The Assaultrons split at Bunker Hill, got swept by the Hats, got swept by Sunshine Tidings, and then won two of three at Finch Farm (#20), scoring 34 games in the three games there. Brotherhood League With the Bloodbugs taking over 1st place, Easy Town has to be thinking, "Here we go again." The Assaultrons led for a good portion of the 2305 season before being overtaken by Nordhagen Beach, who also eliminated them in the playoffs. If the Trons cannot find their winning ways soon, they will be staring at the #3 seed yet again. Salem seemed to be making distance for the #5 seed, but they have struggled a bit as of late, allowing Nordhagen Beach to stick around. Should the Witch Hats hold on to that spot, it would mark the first time in franchise history that the Hats have made the playoffs, including the first two years of the disjointed CBO. Salem is the only team that has never made the playoffs and join Lexington as the only teams never to make the playoffs in the full CBO. Institute League it will be hard for Starlight to catch Sunshine Tidings, so we will assume that the Chemists will be the #1 or #2 seed in the playoffs. What may be even harder is for the Killers to hold on to 2nd place since all of Bunker Hill, Concord, and Fort Hagen look as though they are capable of a run. Still, the Killers lead the closest two by 7.5 games with just 20 to play, so their chances of making the playoffs are good. Minutemen League Right now, this league is exciting with University Point, Spectacle Island, and Jamaica Plain all within a game of each other. That also means the last three teams have no chance. Both Quincy and Atom should be eliminated by the end of this week. The Deathclaws are suddenly dealing with some injury problems with the big loss being SS Austin Engill (.227/27/83), who should be back in time for the playoffs. However, it hurts the top offense to lose one of its big hitters in this critical time. The Rockets have not been the most impressive team for the season, winning a lot more tight games than they should be in. However, they are the hottest team in the ML and look better in hitting across the lineup than most teams. The Reapers may not have the best overall offense, but they have four guys--3B Diamond Ball (.390/53/113) already with the HR record, 1B Homestay Lovetap (.347/49/118), LF Judas Stoner (.245/38/80), and RF Matt Basile (.234/25/57)--hitting bombs regularly. Railroad League Vault 81 is getting closer to making their worst-to-first hopes into a reality. No one player is more responsible for that success than SP Exxie Summerset (18-1, 2.35) who is having a historical season. With an assumed five starts remaining, Summerset is just two wins from becoming the fifth 20-game winner and three wins from tying the league record set by Matt Pageturner (2299) and College Luckyman (2305). Currently, he has a .947 winning percentage, which is way ahead of the previous record of .895 set by Digger Vadim in 2304 when he went 17-2. Summerset could afford a loss and still set the record. After Roxbury, no other team appears to be playoff worthy. Oberland and Egret are decent teams, but they would have to be much better and go on an insane run to have any chance to make the playoffs. We expect the rest of the RL to be eliminated sometime around the time we report our next update. CBO Standings CBO Power Rankings CBO Players of the Week August 13 - Grool Manycaps is respected by most Bunker Hill 75ers fans for his no-frills style of play. The 24-year-old third baseman went about his business with vigor last week to grab the North Charles Association Player of the Week honors. He compiled a .429 average (9-for-21) with 3 home runs, 13 RBIs and 5 runs scored. So far this year Manycaps is hitting .295 with 11 home runs. It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Magnum Peaeye, the Diamond City Swatters 21-year-old right fielder, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for South Charles Association Player of the Week honors. He ripped 11 hits in 22 at-bats, compiling a .500 average with 2 home runs and 6 RBIs. In his 2306 season totals, Peaeye has 29 home runs, .361 BA, .401 OBP, 85 RBIs and 71 runs scored. August 20 - Speak softly and carry a big stick and you could win the North Charles Association Player of the Week Award just like Babs Rooth. He really dazzled on the diamond this week with a .455 average to take home the trophy. The County Crossing right fielder went 10-for-22, drove in 13 runs, scored 9 times and hit 7 home runs. So far this year Rooth has 43 home runs and a .332 batting average. The top-rated player in the South Charles Association this week was a pitcher. Dobbie Radoncis of the Spectacle Island Reapers outdistanced all challengers by leading his team to 2 wins in 2 starts. Last week he had a 2-0 won-lost mark with an impressive 0.00 ERA. This year Radoncis has a 13-5 mark in 26 starts with a 4.05 ERA. He has given up 169 hits in 189 innings, struck out 104 and issued 83 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .240 batting average against him. 2306 Season Pass Association
---------------------------------------------------------- Nuka News Update Reporting on the NWL, APL, NWLR, and BBL Leagues by Evan Guy 24 August 2306 NWL Season Ends, Grape-Cherry to Meet The 2306 season has concluded, and the division winners, the Grape Painted Ghouls and the Cherry Ghoulrillas, will meet in the eighth Nuka Series. During the 2306 regular season, the Painted Ghouls won 6 of 9 matchups over Cherry. This will mark just the second appearance for the Painted Ghouls, which clinched home-field advantage with a 55-35 mark. Grape's last trip to the Nuka Series was in 2301 when they defeated the Orange Tourists, four games to three. The Painted Ghouls then went on to defeat the Far Harbor Ghoul Whales of the Vim! League, four games to three, in the first-ever Season Pass Association Series. For Cherry (52-38), they are making their fifth appearance in the Nuka Series. The Tourists won only the 2303 Nuka Series where they defeated the Quartz Star Force, four games to three. The Ghoulrillas were then swept by the Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers in their first of three-straight Season pass Association Series championships. Other appearances in the Nuka Series were in 2299 (Lost 4-0 to Quartz), 2300 (Lost 4-3 to Quantum), and 2304 (Lost 4-3 to Victory). Grape finished 1st in the NWL in both runs scored (501) and runs against (372). Featured players on offense include SS Ah Oona (.341/26/79) who led the NWL in home runs, RBI, WAR, and total bases, C Mousey Rooney (.312/22/61), 1B Tony Caps (.322/10/43), and LF DuWeb Bois (.340/7/47). One key player, CF Organizae Brown (.308/8/41/14 SB) is injured and may be out for the playoffs. For pitching, the Painted Ghouls are led by SP Steven Nebraska (14-7, 3.19), along with SP Jon Gorczyka (10-4, 3.46), RP Bobby Hamilton (6-1, 1.45, 1 SV), and CL Bobby Tippecanoe (19 SV, 2.67). Cherry was 3rd in both runs for (457) and runs against (414). On offense, they have a good all-around team for both average and power at the top of the lineup and speed at the bottom. Leadoff RF Marquise Underwood (.381/9/47/17 SB) led the CBO in runs and hits and finished fourth on his team in steals. LF Zachary Utsinger (.353/22/58) led the team in homers and RBI. 2B Silt Bean (.290/6/48/40 SB) led the NWL in steals. The Ghoulrillas most successful starting pitcher was Neil Persian (10-4, 3.83). RP Khalil Brite (1-1, 1.35) and CL Old Buck Buchanan (25 SV, 2.18), who led the NWL in saves, lead the bullpen. APL Playoffs The Bradberton Disciples stunned the Galactic Zone G-Force by sweeping the Amusement Park Series 4-0. The Disciples dumped them 16-8 today at John-Caleb Bradberton Honorary Field in the deciding game of the series. This was the 4th time Bradberton has been the league champions. During the regular season the powerful Disciples chalked up a 46-38 mark and finished in first place in the APL North Division. Final scores in the the four games were 5-4, 6-1, 13-9, and 16-8. RF Ghost Hildebrand (.579/2/4) was named Series MVP for the Disciples. Vim! View Veracious, Vivacious, Vainglorious Vision of the Vim! Leagues by Vikky Vail 24 August 2306 Dalton Farm to Battle Grand Hotel in Vim! Series The Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers, winners of three-straight Vim! Series and Season Pass Association Series titles, vies for a fourth title when they face off the Grand Hotel Atoms in the sixth Vim! Series. The Atoms are making their first appearance in the Vim! Series while the Fog Crawlers are in their fifth-straight appearance. Dalton Farm won the season series, 8 games to 1. Dalton Farm (60-30) dominated the Vim! League all season, racking up 535 runs (1st) and allowing 371 (1st). There are very few holes in the Fog Crawlers' lineup, with 1B James Darling (.386/31/75), CF Toppie Gunn (.316/34/90), and 3B Ryan Morris (.340/31/85) all being in MVP consideration. Although the bullpen is not the best, the starting trio of Phil Cecil (15-2, 3.15), Justin Wentworth (11-2, 3.38), and Steve Maskhelm (12-7, 4.02) are. The Atoms were 5th in runs scored (474) and 2nd in runs allowed (412). They have a decent all-around offense though they did not have any dominant hitters in 2306. 2B Ryan Ediger (.349/2/27) was the top in batting average, while their best two power hitters were 1B Clean Mullis (.246/22/51) and CF Kyle Fahnestock (.330/19/60). On the mound, SP Michel Acadiaman (12-8, 3.45) is their best starter, while they also feature the Vim! League's best bullpen: CL Little Rat Swickard (24 SV, 1.87), RP Riff Tamson (2-0, 2.61), and RP Bout Nielsen (2-3. 3.34). MDIL The Mount Desert Island League has also come to a close with the Nucleus Radchickens (56-34) winning the Small Bertha Division and the Haddock Cove Engineers (51-39) taking the Old Longfellow Division. The Radchickens, affiliates of Eden Meadows, are in their second straight series with a win last season over Oceanarium in seven games. The Engineers are making their first appearance.

September 2306
BNN Report News from the CBO, MML, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 1 September 2306 The September Super Post CBO Players of the Month NCA Hitter - Babs Rooth battered North Charles Association pitchers all August and wound up taking home the Batter of the Month Award. "I've been around Commonwealth Baseball Organization long enough to know you really have to work hard day in and day out to be able to put up this kind of consistency," the 27-year-old Rooth told reporters. "I put in a lot of work, even on the days I might not take the field, and it's always nice when everything comes together for me like it did this last month." In 22 games, Rooth hit .429 with 18 home runs, 34 RBIs and scored 30 runs. Rooth is hitting .340 in 2306 with 113 RBIs and 49 home runs. SCA Hitter - The South Charles Association Batter of the Month has been chosen for August and the trophy was presented to Barker Cocoa of the University Point Deathclaws. He stood out this month with a .429 batting average, 33 hits and 7 home runs, along with 19 RBIs and 20 runs scored. Hitting .406 to date, Cocoa has 43 home runs and 124 RBIs. He has played in 108 games. NCA Pitcher - When Gavin Eviritts takes the hill, there's a good chance for a County Crossing victory. At least that's the way it was in May. He excelled with a 5-0 mark and a 3.74 ERA in 6 starts, tossed 45.2 innings, fanned 37, and held enemy hitters to a .186 average. That's why the Bloodbugs star was honored today as the Pitcher of the Month by the North Charles Association. This season Eviritts has 17 wins and 4 losses and a 3.93 ERA. SCA Pitcher - When Exxie Summerset takes the hill, chances are good for a Vault 81 victory. At least that's the way it was in May. He excelled with a 5-0 mark and 1.90 ERA in 6 starts, tossed 47.1 innings, fanned 28 and held others clubs to a .193 average. That's why the Dwellers star was honored today as the Pitcher of the Month by the South Charles Association. To date this year Summerset has compiled a 19-1 mark with a 2.30 ERA in 27 starts. Speaking of Summerset, here is a news story from August 29: The Vault 81 Dwellers were just hoping for a solid outing from Exxie Summerset. Instead, they got something special. The 22-year-old hurler tossed a no-hitter against the Quincy Gunners, helping the Dwellers take the 3-0 win. "I felt good throughout the game," he said after his spectacular outing for the Dwellers. "As I was going into the ninth inning, I wasn't nervous. I knew I had a chance to do something special." Summerset's repertoire has a slider, circle change, fastball, curveball, and sinker, and he used it all to full advantage, keeping the Quincy hitters off balance all game long. The Vault 81 hurler fanned 6 and walked 1 in his history-making performance. "His slider looked about the size of a watermelon seed and it hissed at you as it passed," Quincy manager Jason Personhood joked after the game. For this year Summerset has chalked up 19 wins and 1 loss in 27 starts with 147 strikeouts in 215.2 innings and a 2.30 ERA. NCA Rookie - Booth Larson is still a bit shy, but then, who could blame the newest North Charles Association Rookie of the Month honoree? He hasn't been around the league long enough to fully know the ropes yet, despite the fact that he's putting up veteran-like numbers. In August the Salem hitter tagged opposing pitching for a .309 average with 21 hits, 7 home runs and 15 RBIs. This year Larson is batting .310 with 7 home runs. SCA Rookie - Ken Debate earned August's Rookie of the Month honors in the South Charles Association for last month's performance. The boyish Jamaica Plain left fielder might be wet behind the ears, but he's proving that he has what it takes to play at this level. Debate hit .281 with 13 home runs, 29 RBIs and 22 runs scored this past month on his way to winning the award. Debate currently has a .287 batting average with 121 hits, 40 homers, 88 RBIs, 79 runs scored and a .362 OBP. MML Analysis All but one division is wrapped up with just two games to play in the regular season. The Burlington Ferals (Slog) of the LL Wade Boggs Division, the Lynn Fortune Finders (Obe) of the LL Matt Murtagh Division, and the Sandwich Bay Snakes (Rox) of the SL Carl Yastrzemski Division have wrapped up their postseason appearances. In the SL Ted Williams Division, the Natick Big Leaguers (DC) lead the Eastlake Aquaboys (CC) by a game and the Needham Archers (JP) by two. The Archers are visiting the Aquaboys while they both need Natick to drop its games to the Foxborough Minutemen. MML Players of the Month LL Hitter - Graygarden Action Boys fans believe they've got a talented young star in Mike Thomson. He did nothing to dissuade that notion in August, as he hit .384 with 11 home runs, 26 RBIs and 18 runs scored. The end result was the second baseman being named the Legends League Batter of the Month. This year Thomson has 45 home runs and a .321 batting average. SL Hitter - It's perhaps an award he'll win many more times through his career, as at age 24 Sum Downie has a lot of baseball ahead of him. But for now the young Sandwich Bay Snakes star can enjoy the numbers he put up in August, which have garnered him the nod as the Stars League Batter of the Month. His breakout month featured a .422 average with 14 home runs, 34 RBIs and 26 runs scored. This year Downie has hit at a .367 pace and produced 139 RBIs, 52 home runs and scored 104 runs. LL Pitcher - The spotlight today is on Tom Sweeney of the Everett Mutant Hounds. The relief ace was chosen as the #1 pitcher in the Legends League for August. He compiled a 1-0 record and an ERA of 0.00 in 11.1 innings with 8 strikeouts. Sweeney nailed down 11 saves in 11 save opportunities. To this point in the season, Sweeney has 32 saves in 48 relief appearances with a 5-2 mark and 2.81 ERA. He has 33 strikeouts in 51.1 innings with 14 walks. SL Pitcher - Jack Arasmith was firing on all cylinders in the month of August with 4 wins as he steamrolled all Stars League opposition on his way to the Pitcher of the Month award. During the month Arasmith was 4-1 with a 3.50 ERA. He made 6 starts, tossed 43.2 innings and had 31 strikeouts. On the season Arasmith has a 11-10 record with a 4.56 ERA. BMU Analysis The BMU's regular season has concluded with four teams vying for the Boston Minor Series. The Revere Beach Celtics, the Mystic pines Raybathers, the Neponset Park Criticals, and the Somerville Place Sentry Bots are the four teams battling for supremacy. BMU Players of the Month CA Hitter - Mystic Pines Raybathers fans may just have witnessed a star player blossoming before their eyes in August. Zaire Inquisitor put up a remarkable month at the age of 20 and has been named the Commonwealth Association Batter of the Month. For the month, Inquisitor hit .451 with 9 home runs, 28 RBIs and 30 runs scored. Currently Inquisitor is hitting .417 and has collected 23 home runs, 91 RBIs and scored 89 times, while playing in 88 games. MA Hitter - When Dominant Phillips stepped up to the plate in August he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the Massachusetts Association Batter of the Month award. The young Neponset Park first baseman posted a .436 batting average with 16 home runs, 34 RBIs and scored 26 runs. Phillips also worked pitchers for 13 walks to post a .511 on-base percentage. Phillips is hitting .358 so far this season with 126 RBIs and 97 runs scored. He has 125 hits including 46 home runs, 55 walks and .450 OBP. CA Pitcher - August's elite pitcher was Junie Celani of Sanctuary Hills. He silenced Commonwealth Association hitters the entire month and claimed the Pitcher of the Month award with 4 wins and 1 loss in 2 starts. Celani restricted opposing hitters to a .182 batting average. He rang up 45 strikeouts in 42.1 innings of work, surrendered 9 walks and crafted a 1.28 ERA. Celani has fashioned a 5-2 mark for the season, 1.94 ERA and thrown 51 innings in 2 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .207 against him. MA Pitcher - Nickleneck Tabletop of the Marlborough Firemen strung a bunch of high quality starts together in August to earn the Massachusetts Association Pitcher of the Month trophy. For the month he finished with a superlative 5 wins and no losses and a 1.87 ERA. The Marlborough star started 6 games, pitched 43.1 innings and struck out 40. This season Tabletop has fanned 93 in 96.2 innings and collected a 7-4 record with a 2.70 ERA. GBRL Analysis The GBRL has completed its 2306 season with four teams still standing: the Med-Tek Eyebots, the Nuka Express Chrono Cowboys, the Poseidon Energy Mongrels, and the Fiddler's Green T-60s. GBRL Players of the Month NL Hitter - At only 19 years of age, Bruce Timmons could very well have many more months like this last one during his career. That would be great news for fans of the Belmont Sneakers, as August was one to remember for the catcher and he has captured the North League Batter of the Month award. On the month he hit .506 with 10 home runs, 33 RBIs and 27 runs scored. In 85 games this season Timmons has compiled a .447 batting average with 157 hits and 32 home runs. He has also scored 109 times and knocked in 108 runs. SL Hitter - Glenn Stackstat made his presence known as one of the best young stars in the South League this past month. The Westing Estate Gunslingers right fielder shined through the month of August and has won the Batter of the Month award. The 19-year-old hit .439 with 8 home runs, 27 RBIs and 26 runs scored. This season Stackstat is batting .316 with 67 RBIs, 61 runs scored and 16 home runs. NL Pitcher - The Pitcher of the Month for August has been picked and the North League award went to Belmont hurler, Sam Apsara. During the month, Apsara was impressive with a 4.50 ERA and 4 wins and 1 loss. In 22 innings he struck out 33 and gave up 24 hits and 11 walks. In 7 starts this year Apsara has fashioned a 4-3 record and a 6.10 ERA. SL Pitcher - August's top-rated pitcher was John O'Brien of Suffolk County Pink Goo. He demoralized South League hitters in posting a 4-0 record and captured the Pitcher of the Month award. In 4 starts, O'Brien limited opposing batters to a .202 average. He rang up 42 strikeouts in 31.1 innings of work, issued 10 walks, and crafted a 2.87 ERA. To date this season, O'Brien has registered 17 starts, 10-3 won-lost mark, 3.74 ERA, 110.2 IP, 153 strikeouts and 79 walks. Opposing teams have hit .225 against him. BYDL Playoffs Only two teams are standing in the BYDL: the #4 Beantown Sprouts of the NR's Benjamin Franklin Division and the #5 Spectacle Island Specters of the SR's Crispus Attucks Division. Beantown is making its first appearance in the Boston Youth Series, while the Specters are making their second trip, winning it as the Reapers in 2303. Top prospects from the Sprouts include the freshman trio of 3B Allee Bobbuh, LF Gremlin T. Squearfish, and CF Aaron Wright. Senior SP Ma'Khail Redstick has been hurt for most of the season but is participating in the playoffs. Spectacle Island is led by two seniors in 2B Lightning Bolt Bunker and 3B Vallhallen Koosalagoopagoop. Freshman RF Innis Sark has been a contributor. Pitching is led by senior SP Make Money, but he had to leave in his last start and may not be back for the series. Senior SP Hard John Horvath will step up in his place as will talented senior SP/RP Carlos Crayon. SCYL Playoffs In our last update, we had the finalists for the first Southern Commonwealth Series. Here are the results: With a 9-7 win over the Freeplat Wicked Goods tonight at Ballpark at the Lighthouse, the Chatham Lighthouse wrapped up their 2nd title in team history. Chatham left little doubt who was the better club. "Team" was the word of the day as the Lighthouse celebrated the culmination of their banner year in the victors clubhouse following the game. "Hitting, pitching, fielding; those are all things you need to win, but most importantly you need a team, a team that works together toward the same collective goal," said Chatham manager Bold Todd Oldfield. "Our players felt that way all year and they played that way. When one guy had an off day, 24 others stepped up their game and filled the void." A jovial mood filled the air as Chatham celebrated into the night. The city's mayor said parade plans were underway and a "huge celebration" in the works. "We're going to celebrate our team, our championship Chatham Lighthouse," the mayor said. The champions completed the regular season with a second-place finish in the Cape Cod League Nantucket Sound Division and a 35-35 record. SCYL Players of the Year CCL MVP - Fern Bulletgraze of the Provincetown Land Pirates had a fine season this year and today he accepted the Most Valuable Player Award for 2306. September 2306
BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 3 September 2306 CBO Analysis With 110 games down and 10 to play, here are a few facts about the 2306 season. Four of the ten playoff teams are set, three in the North Charles Association and one in the South Charles Association. We will break down what is needed for each team in the leagues breakdown in these final two weeks to clinch a playoff spot and what seed that team may expect. Another eight teams have been officially eliminated from the playoffs, including Egret, the #4 seed from a season ago that made it to the SCA Championship Series in 2305. Now on to the Top 5 in the Power Rankings. Sunshine Tidings has taken over the #1 spot in the Power Rankings after going 9-1 in their last 10, including a current winning streak of seven games. The Chemists swept The Slog (#24), won two of three at Bunker Hill (#18), swept the Ghouls again, and then swept Concord (#15) to all but end the Radstags' playoff hopes. County Crossing is the #2 team thanks to holding a three-game lead for the CBO's best record. The Bloodbugs went 8-2 in their last 10 with a split at the 75ers, a sweep of the Ghouls, a split with the Radstags, and a sweep of Salem (#13) which is ice-cold during a critical portion of the season. Roxbury rises to #3 after retaking control in the Railroad League thanks to a nine-game winning streak and a 9-1 mark in the past two weeks. The Rad Sox split at Goodneighbor (#23), swept Egret (#16), swept the Hancocks, and then swept FHE (#22). Easy Town is #4, going 7-3 in their last 10, but still falling three games back of the Bugs. The Assautrons split with Fort Hagen (#12), won two of three over Nordhagen Beach (#11), split at the Silver Shroud, and won all three at The Slog. University Point rounds out the Top 5 after it extended its Minutemen League lead to three games thanks to a 7-3 mark the past two weeks. The Deathclaws were swept at Vault 81 (#6), swept Jamaica Plain (#9) on the road, split with the Yao Guai, and then swept Quincy (#20). Brotherhood League County Crossing and Easy Town are both in the playoffs. With 10 to play, the Bloodbugs and Assaultrons have six left to play against each other, meaning that Easy Town can still control its own destiny for the right to win the Brotherhood League. The Bugs visit Concord and Easy Town this week and then host Sunshine Tidings and the Assaultrons next week. The Trons' two Institute League series are a host of Starlight and a visit to Lexington. Salem and Nordhagen Beach are now tied for the 5th spot in the NCA race to the playoffs after the Witch Hats have dropped six straight and went 3-7 the past two weeks. Meanwhile, the Party Boys went 6-4 to pull themselves to two games above .500. For Salem to make its first playoff appearance in team history, it will need to find the success it had for most of the season. In the last two weeks, the Hats host Lexington and The Slog, giving them a great opportunity to create some distance yet again. In the final week, they visit Bunker Hill and the Boys. The Boys visit Sunshine Tidings and Finch Farm this week, and then visit Starlight and host the Witch Hats in the final week. Institute League Sunshine Tidings is the only team in the CBO to have clinched their league, currently holding an 11-game lead over Starlight, which is close to clinching a playoff spot itself with an eight-game lead over both Fort Hagen and Concord. The only chance for the Shroud, Stags, or 75ers to make the playoffs would be for both the Witch Hats and Party Boys to fall on their faces, while an IL contender wins basically all of their remaining games. We do not expect that to happen, which means . . . The NCA playoff outlook prediction is this: 1. County Crossing 2. Sunshine Tidings 3. Easy Town 4. Starlight 5. Salem We are picking the Witch Hats to outlast the Party Boys thanks to a favorable schedule to end the season. Minutemen League In the ML, half of the teams are alive, though none have clinched a spot and the other half are officially eliminated from the playoffs. University Point is the CBO's least healthy team. Already down SS Austin Engill, LF Ed Tarberry, and RP James Schwerdtfeger, now RF Tomas Jones is out, possibly for the playoffs, with a fracture in his foot. Still, the defending champions hold a three-game lead over both Spectacle Island and Jamaica Plain for the right to the 2306 ML crown. Looking at the remaining schedule, the Deathclaws may also have the easiest path. This week, the Claws visit Diamond City and Quincy, and next week they visit Roxbury and then host Goodneighbor. Spectacle Island and Jamaica Plain will probably prevent each other from winning the ML and are vying for which team is likely to be the #4 or #5 seed in the Play-in Round of the playoffs. The Reapers visit Oberland and Jamaica Plain this week and then host the Swatters and Red Rockets next week. In their two Railroad League matchups, the Rockets host the Sox and visit Vault 81. Based on their schedule, the Rockets had better eke out a couple of series wins to guarantee a playoff spot. Railroad League With their nine-game winning streak, the Rad Sox lead the RL by a game over Vault 81, with six head-to-head matchups remaining. Both teams have brutal schedules to finish, but Vault 81's is slightly easier with a matchup against Goodneighbor and then hosting Jamaica Plain. Roxbury visits the Rockets and hosts the Deathclaws in their final two ML series, meaning they are likely playing against three different playoff teams in the final two weeks. Oberland is also still alive, though the T-51s, which have gone 8-2 the past two weeks, still need to win big and hope either the Reapers or Rockets collapse. The T-51s trail Vault 81 by 10 games, so they can only really hope to earn the #5 spot, in which they trail Spectacle Island and Jamaica Plain by six games. Oberland gets to help their own cause this week when they host the Reapers. They also have a favorable schedule the rest of the way with a trip to Diamond City and then home series against the Gunners and FHE to close out their schedule. We think that the T-51s will win most of those games, but will not be able to close the gap, which means . . . The SCA playoff outlook prediction is this: 1. University Point 2. Roxbury 3. Vault 81 4. Spectacle Island 5. Jamaica Plain CBO Standings CBO Power Rankings CBO Players of the Week August 27 - North Charles Association pitchers will attest that it was tough to get Babs Rooth of the County Crossing Bloodbugs out last week. His all-around performance at the plate made him the league's most recent Player of the Week. The 27-year-old right fielder boasted a .409 average with 4 home runs, 6 RBIs and 7 runs scored. Rooth went 9-for-22 for the week. So far this season Rooth is batting .336 with 47 home runs. It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Ken Debate, the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets 21-year-old left fielder, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for South Charles Association Player of the Week honors. He ripped 8 hits in 20 at-bats, compiling a .400 average with 6 home runs and 12 RBIs. This season Debate is batting .288 with 118 hits and 38 home runs. He has scored 76 times and has 84 runs batted in. September 3 - This week's standout performer in the North Charles Association was right fielder Babs Rooth of the County Crossing Bloodbugs, winning his second-straight Player of the Week award to complement his Player of the Month award. He belted out a .444 average and was voted the Player of the Week. Over the last week Rooth collected 8 hits in 18 at-bats and 3 home runs, drove in 9 runs and scored 4 times. In his season totals Rooth has 50 home runs and a .340 batting average. Homestay Lovetap has the tools to stick in this league for many years. The 24-year-old first baseman of the Spectacle Island Reapers had a hot bat in the South Charles Association over the past seven days and won the Player of the Week honors. Lovetap batted .524 with 11 hits in 21 at-bats, 6 home runs and 15 RBIs. In this current campaign Lovetap is hitting at a .350 clip with 55 home runs and 134 RBIs. September 2306
BNN Report News from the CBO, MML, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 6 September 2306 Franchise Update Finch Farm owner Jake Finch has announced that the Four Leafs franchise will experience some significant changes for the 2307 season. For one, Finch has decided that the team will relocate to Nahant where it will have a fan base in both Nahant and the Lynn area, two rapidly growing communities in the Boston Commonwealth area. While decisions have yet to be made, Finch has stated that Village Uncle Park in Nahant is already under expansion to accommodate a CBO crowd and will be renamed in honor of the Finch family. The Finch Farm stadium is currently named Finch Family Park. Finch also stated that the CBO team, as well as its three minor league teams, will exhibit an Ireland-Boston theme. "My father's family is originally from Ireland," Finch said. "And Boston has a history of an Irish connection. All of our Finch franchise therefore will maintain that Irish theme." In addition to the franchise's Finch Farm and Nahant locations trading leagues between the CBO and MML, there will be a new BMU location in Brockton and a new GBRL location in Lowell. Current BMU affiliate, Revere Beach, Roxbury's BMU team, has agreed to trade its Celtics team name and will take the Shoremen team name from Nahant. Also, Lexington will take over the GBRL's Taffington Boathouse Spy Hunters, dropping its current affiliate, the Galleria Robotics Experts. The Synths' owner, Trashcan Carla, released a statement: "We are losing money in the Galleria due to very little human presence overall. Commissioner Howard has agreed that Galleria is no longer an acceptable location for a team. Therefore, we have purchased the Taffington Boathouse team from Jake Finch." Finch has decided that even the Finch Farm team will slightly change its name, stating that he never liked the Four Leafs team name but loved their logo. The Nahant team will retain that logo and work it into the CBO team jersey. Team names will be the Nahant Celtics (CBO) with the Celtics team name coming from an old professional basketball team in Boston, the Finch Farm Shamrocks (MML), the Brockton Irish (BMU), and the Lowell Leprechauns (GBRL). Logos of the new teams for 2307 are below:

September 2306
BNN Report News from the CBO, MML, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 10 September 2306 CBO Updates Just a few quick updates with just one week to play in the exciting 2306 regular season. We now have four teams clinched in each association with just one more spot to fill. In the NCA, Fort Hagen and Concord are actually though not officially eliminated since they trail by five games against two teams that play each other. In the SCA, Oberland still has a chance, needing to go 5-0 and another team needing to go 0-5 to finish in a tie. Brotherhood League Easy Town took two of three over County Crossing, bringing them to two games back for the league title. The Bloodbugs took the Sunday game, which was a chance to leave the weekend tied. Nordhagen Beach and Salem are still tied in what is the battle for the 5th seed in the playoffs and the right to take on Starlight. Assuming everything remains the same heading into the weekend, the Party Boys and Witch Hats will have a weekend series for which team is in the playoffs. Minutemen League University Point did not have a good week, going just 2-3 against both Diamond City and Quincy. That leaves the league open for Spectacle Island, which went 4-1, including a 2-1 series win at Jamaica Plain. The Rockets also were swept by Roxbury, leaving them four games back of the Deathclaws with five to play. Jamaica Plain leads the T-51s by five game, so they need just won win or one Oberland loss to clinch at least the 5th seed in the playoffs. Railroad League Vault 81 and the Rad Sox each got a mid-week sweep before facing each other with Roxbury up by a game. The Dwellers, though, were prepared to defend their home field, sweeping the Sox to take a two-game lead. Vault 81 now needs to hold off Roxbury with both Jamaica Plain and the Rad Sox left on the docket. The Sox face off with the Claws in midweek action in what should be a thrilling last week of the season. Updated Playoff Predictions NCA 1. County Crossing 2. Sunshine Tidings 3. Easy Town 4. Starlight 5. Nordhagen Beach SCA 1. Roxbury 2. Spectacle Island 3. Vault 81 4. University Point 5. Jamaica Plain Homerun Race Spectacle Island is not only chasing a first-time league title since the full CBO; they also have two players chasing history. Commissioner Nate Howard mentioned it was like a historic battle in pre-War baseball for two players who played for a New York team. The Reapers' 1B Homestay Lovetap currently has the CBO single-season home run record with 57, leading his teammate, 3B Diamond Ball, by one. With five games to play, the next question is if the players will extend the record to 60. County Crossing RF Babs Rooth, who held the record at 48, has also surpassed his record with 51 on the season. Though he is not likely to catch Lovetap and Ball, he has secured the best season in NCA history for power. There are also three other players who could surpass the previous record: Easy Town's 1B/SP Lannie Tykeson (46), Starlight's 1B Oren Gep (45), and University Point's 1B Barker Cocoa (45). Two rookies, the Red Rockets' RF Ken Debate and Reapers' LF Judas Stoner, each have 42 home runs in the race for the Red Rocket Rookie Award in the SCA.

Interesting to see population changes shaping the league development. That's always something I like to see, as I'm a major nerd, especially for statistics (and I have a stats background). I wish OOTP natively accounted for it more, but even I realize that would definitely be asking too much haha. Still, it's always something I try to account for when running my own leagues.
On another note, surprisingly, I find myself drawn to the Chemists as the season played out this time around. |

As far as Sunshine Tidings is concerned, I am rooting for them in a few ways, too, especially since they have never won a playoff series. On the same hand, I am rooting for Salem to get in over Nordhagen Beach since the Witch Hats have never been to the postseason and they are the last remaining team to do so. In the playoffs, I will root for the Chemists and Killers and Hats to make it to the SSS since Fort Hagen is the only Institute League team to ever make it. All of Nordhagen Beach, County Crossing, and Easy Town have been there before though they are a combined 1-4 there. The SCA has dominated the SSS, winning 7 of 8.

2306 Season Pass Association
Nuka News Update Reporting on the NWL, APL, NWLR, and BBL Leagues by Evan Guy 13 September 2306 SPA-NWL-VL Playoff Results The Season Pass Association season has concluded with the Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers winning their fourth straight title. Here are the results. Nuka Series: Cherry 4, Grape 3 Game 1: Cherry 4 at Grape 3 Utsinger Blasts Painted Ghouls, Ghoulrillas Take Game 1, 4-3 The Cherry Ghoulrillas started the Nuka Series in style today, winning on the road against the Grape Painted Ghouls at King Cola Park at Kiddie Kingdom by a score of 4-3 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Ghoulrillas left fielder Zachary Utsinger excelled. He was 3-4 with 2 home runs and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The Ghoulrillas took a 4-1 lead in the top of the seventh inning. Facing Grape hurler Steven Nebraska with two outs, Utsinger hit a 2-run home run. "You hit 2 home runs in the regular season and you remember it," Utsinger said later. "You hit 2 home runs in the Nuka Series and everyone remembers it." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at King Cola Park at Kiddie Kingdom in Bradberton. Game 2: Cherry 1 at Grape 2 Painted Ghouls Clip Ghoulrillas 2-1 in NS Contest The Grape Painted Ghouls defeated the Cherry Ghoulrillas, 2-1 in Game 2 of the Nuka Series today. Doing his part was starter Jon Gorczyca, who threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The win moves Grape into a 1-1 tie with Cherry in the series. The Ghoulrillas had trouble solving Gorczyca, who surrendered 1 run on 3 hits over 7 innings. In comments to the Grape Chronicle, Gorczyca admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves." Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday at Grandchester Mystery Mansion Park in Bradberton. Game 3: Grape 5 at Cherry 1 Grape Takes 2-1 Lead in Nuka Series Starter Matty Lamplight was sensational for the Grape Painted Ghouls in his team's 5-1 triumph over the Cherry Ghoulrillas in Game 3 of the Nuka Series today. Lamplight pitched well, but Grape picked up the win to take a 2-1 lead in the series. Lamplight allowed 1 run on 5 hits over 8.1 innings for the Painted Ghouls. He walked 0 and struck out 3. "It's still just a game," said Lamplight, "whether you win or lose." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Grandchester Mystery Mansion Park in Bradberton. Game 4: Grape 5 at Cherry 4 Almost There: Grape On Cusp of Nuka Series Triumph After 5-4 Win The Grape Painted Ghouls defeated the Cherry Ghoulrillas, 5-4 in Game 4 of the Nuka Series today. Doing his part was starter Steven Nebraska, who threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The win moves Grape into a 3-1 lead in the series. Mousey Rooney tagged a home run off David Hill in the top of the first. His 2-run blast put the Painted Ghouls on top, 2-0. In all, Rooney had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5. "We aren't quitting," Cherry manager Jimmy Straw said. "Yeah, the odds are definitely in their favor, but they've got to earn it." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Grandchester Mystery Mansion Park in Bradberton. Game 5: Grape 2 at Cherry 9 Cherry Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-2 Neil Persian was not about to watch an opponent celebrate a championship on his home field. The right-hander pitched the Cherry Ghoulrillas to victory at Grandchester Mystery Mansion Park today, staving off the Grape Painted Ghouls, who remain one game away from a title. Persian threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The win cuts the series deficit for the Ghoulrillas to 3-2 in the best-of-7 series. Davis Pacman, who finished 5th in the NWL in stolen bases with 21 in 2306, chipped in for Cherry with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 runs batted in. "We played hard and won," said Persian. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.' Game 6 is scheduled for Saturday at King Cola Park at Kiddie Kingdom in Bradberton. Game 6: Cherry 4 at Grape 3, 11 inn. Ghoulrillas Even With Painted Ghouls After Extra-Innings Win The Cherry Ghoulrillas and the Grape Painted Ghouls will take the Nuka Series to a decisive 7th game. Facing a must-win situation at King Cola Park at Kiddie Kingdom today, the Ghoulrillas beat the Painted Ghouls 4-3 in extra innings to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Grape catcher Mousey Rooney was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Cherry relied on the hitting of Zachary Utsinger to pick up the win. The left fielder ripped a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Ghoulrillas on top, 4-3. For the game, Utsinger had 1 triple and 2 singles in 5 at-bats. "Exhilarating win," said Utsinger. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at King Cola Park at Kiddie Kingdom in Bradberton. Game 7: Cherry 2 at Grape 1 Cherry Takes Title A celebratory mood filled the air as the Cherry Ghoulrillas closed out the season with a 2-1 victory over the Grape Painted Ghouls at King Cola Park at Kiddie Kingdom to capture the Nuka Series, 4-3. Giving the Painted Ghouls credit for a hard-fought series, Ghoulrillas players said they believed throughout the postseason that their "destiny" was to be crowned Nuka World League champions. "We felt like this was our year all season long," said left fielder Zachary Utsinger, who was named series MVP. "It was our destiny to win it and we did." It was the 2nd in franchise history. During the South Bradberton Division regular season Cherry put up a 52-38 record and finished first. "They're the champions and they deserve it," said a dejected Grape manager Malik Christmasstory. "We played good ball, they just played better than us." Vim! Series: Dalton Farm 4, Grand Hotel 3 Game 1: Grand Hotel 3 at Dalton Farm 1 Grand Hotel Draws First Blood in Vim! Series With 3-1 Win The Grand Hotel Atoms powered past the hometown Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers, 3-1, in the opener of the Vim! Series at Blood Tide Stadium today. Grand Hotel starting pitcher Michel Acadiaman threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Atoms now lead the series 1-0. Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Adam Henderson? The Grand Hotel catcher had a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put the Atoms on top, 1-0. For the game, Henderson had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats. "You never want to start a series with a loss, but I saw a lot of good things today," Fog Crawlers manager Spider Webb said. "I'm not worrying. Yet." The next game is set to be played tomorrow Monday, August 27th , 2306. Series contest today. The right-handed O'Malley threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball in the win, just enough for the Atoms on a day when their offense dried up. Grand Hotel now leads the best-of-7 series 2-0. Grand Hotel used a clutch hit from Clean Mullis to get the win. The first baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Atoms ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer. "We haven't stopped playing," Dalton Farm manager Spider Webb said. "We didn't get this far to give up." Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at Harbor Grand Hotel Grounds. Game 6: Grand Hotel 1 at Dalton Farm 4 Fog Crawlers Even With Atoms After Home Win The Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers and the Grand Hotel Atoms will take the Vim! Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Fog Crawlers beat the Atoms 4-1 at Blood Tide Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Dalton Farm left-hander Phil Cecil had a big role in the win. He threw 9.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The Atoms had few good swings against Cecil, the left-hander, who threw 120 pitches over 9 innings. He allowed just 1 run on 4 hits. "I'll be honest," said Cecil. "I was running on fumes at the end." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Monday, September 3rd , 2306. Game 7: Grand Hotel 6 at Dalton Farm 7, 10 inn. Fog Crawlers Beat Atoms in Vim! Series The Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers pulled out all the stops tonight, winning the Vim! The champs finished the regular season 60-30 and claimed first place in the Vim! League Fog Division. Season Pass Series: Dalton Farm 4, Cherry 1 Game 1: Cherry 1 at Dalton Farm 3 Season Pass Series Game 1 Victory for Cecil and Dalton Farm The Season Pass Series got off to a quiet start today, with the host Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers taking a low-scoring 3-1 win over the Cherry Ghoulrillas. Dalton Farm left-hander Phil Cecil was marvelous at Blood Tide Stadium. The Fog Crawlers now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. In the bottom of the fifth, with Dalton Farm leading 1-0, third baseman Ryan Morris hit a run-scoring single. The hit came off David Hill and put the Fog Crawlers ahead, 2-0. "For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Cecil. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Friday, September 7th , 2306. Game 2: Cherry 10 at Dalton Farm 5 Fog Crawlers Hammered by Utsinger, Drop Game 2 to Ghoulrillas Cherry left fielder Zachary Utsinger was the difference-maker for the Ghoulrillas in what turned into a shootout with the Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers. Utsinger earned accolades after going 3-for-4 in the 10-5 Ghoulrillas win. With the victory, the Ghoulrillas moved into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-7 series. Utsinger had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the third inning, when he hit a run-scoring single. The Ghoulrillas went on to win. "Win or lose, the second this season ends, I'm going on vacation," Utsinger said in his postgame remarks. The next game is set to be played for Sunday, September 9th , 2306 at Grandchester Mystery Mansion Park in Bradberton. Game 3: Dalton Farm 6 at Cherry 3, 10 inn. Dalton Farm Takes 2-1 Series Lead Behind 5 RBIs from LF Harpoonmon With left fielder Sean Harpoonmon leading the charge, the Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers got past the Cherry Ghoulrillas, 6-3, in extra innings in Game 3 of the Season Pass Series today. Harpoonmon went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI at Grandchester Mystery Mansion Park as Dalton Farm managed to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series. The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Harpoonmon delivered big-time for Dalton Farm, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Sooner Coen. The game-changing hit put the Fog Crawlers on top, 5-3. "I hate extra innings," Dalton Farm manager Spider Webb said. "It makes everyone more tired, wears out the bullpen, wears out the fans. Even winning doesn't make me feel good about it." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Grandchester Mystery Mansion Park in Bradberton. Game 4: Dalton Farm 6 at Cherry 3 Almost There: Dalton Farm On Cusp of Season Pass Series Triumph After 6-3 Win With shortstop Chris Huffsettler leading the charge, the Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers got a road win over the Cherry Ghoulrillas, 6-3, in Game 4 of the Season Pass Series today. Huffsettler was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times at Grandchester Mystery Mansion Park to help Dalton Farm take a 3-1 lead in the best-of-7 series. The Fog Crawlers took a 2-0 lead in the top of the fifth inning. Facing Cherry hurler David Hill with two outs, Huffsettler hit a run-scoring single. "Things aren't going great right now," Cherry manager Jimmy Straw said. "But you don't need me to tell you that." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Grandchester Mystery Mansion Park in Bradberton. Game 5: Dalton Farm 2 at Cherry 1 Dalton Farm Crowned Season Pass Association Champions The Season Pass Association championship series is now history with the trophy going to the Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers. The defending champions knocked off the Cherry Ghoulrillas 2-1 to cop the crown 4-1. Dalton Farm has now won the past four Season Pass Series titles. The victorious skipper, Spider Webb, was just happy to be a part of it. "I would've bought a ticket to watch this series." During the Vim! League Fog Division regular season, the Fog Crawlers posted a record of 60-30, good enough for first place in the standings. Talking to reporters after the game, Webb recapped the experience. "The run we've been on has been remarkable," he said, "so for it to end this way is fitting. Our conversation before the playoffs was to just keep on playing and keep on plugging. This is the playoffs and it's not over 'til the last pitch of the last game. Anything can happen and it can change fast."

Jamaica Plain CBO Standings CBO News and Notes The Slog Makes Agreement with Saugus Ironworks In an ambitious move set to redefine community and sports in the Commonwealth, The Slog has announced a landmark partnership with Saugus Ironworks. This collaboration aims to transform the beloved Tarberry Field Forever into a state-of-the-art "Iron Stadium," a project that promises to blend the industry of the area with the appeal of baseball. It will also celebrate the role of ghouls in the resurgence of the Commonwealth. Under the revamp, Tarberry Field Forever will see a comprehensive overhaul, integrating iron and steel elements into its design to create a unique stadium experience that also pays homage to the region's industrial prowess. Plans include the installation of majestic iron sculptures, robust steel beam structures, and a fortress-like entrance gate, setting a new standard for sports venues in the Commonwealth. But the ambition of The Slog and Saugus Ironworks extends beyond the field. Adjacent to the stadium, the creation of Saugus Ironworks Park is set to provide a tourist appeal for families and fans. Featuring iron-themed playgrounds, intricate sculptures, and a welcoming picnic area, the park is designed to be a year-round destination for community events and youth baseball clinics, nurturing a new generation of baseball enthusiasts. Said team owner Wiseman Slog, "We may even convince Magnolia to hold a concert here." In a nod to the storied past and vibrant present of baseball in the Commonwealth, a dedicated Baseball Museum will also grace the stadium complex. This interactive space will celebrate the sport's rich history and The Slog Ghouls' remarkable journey, featuring collected memorabilia, holographic replays of games, and personal stories from notable players. The museum is poised to become a pilgrimage site for baseball fans, offering an immersive journey through the game's local legacy. "This partnership is more than just a project; it's about community, heritage, and the future of baseball in the Commonwealth," said Slog. "The Slog will stand as a beacon of resilience, bringing together the best of our past and our hopes for the future." The agreement between The Slog and Saugus Ironworks represents a significant investment in the local community, promising economic revitalization and a renewed sense of pride. 2306 CBO Playoffs
BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 18 September 2306 CBO Playoff Tree CBO Playoff Play-In Series Preview NCA Playoffs - #5 Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (62-58) vs #4 Starlight Killers (68-52) Season Series Nordhagen Beach 4, Starlight 4 April 22-23 @NB: Star 8-4, NB 10-4 June 12-13 @Star: NB 4-0, Star 4-2 July 3-4 @NB: Star 3-2, NB 2-1 September 11-12 @Star: NB 6-1, Star 3-2 Analysis This season marks the first time that Nordhagen Beach and Starlight will meet in the playoffs. While both teams have been in the playoffs in the same season three times, the Killers were eliminated in their first matchup in all three. In Starlight's four playoff appearances overall, they have yet to clinch a series. The Party Boys, on the other hand, have been one of the NCA's best teams over the years, appearing in the playoffs 10 straight years, including all nine seasons of the full CBO. Nordhagen Beach has won three NCA titles and one Sole Survivor Series (2301). On offense, the Party Boys stepped back, finishing 8th in the NCA in runs scored (554). Part of the problem is that all of the production is in the front of the lineup: 2B Jumper Hayes (.306/18/63), LF Michael Fogcrawler (.265/30/71), CF Maxx Murtagh (.324/30/77), and RF Jonathan Angelou (.254/34/77). The pitching was also not as good, though the Boys were 3rd in runs against (527) with the Starters ERA finishing 5th (4.21). There was no problem at all with the first two pitchers, SP Beachboy Nut (16-8, 3.15) and SP Ugio Church (14-11, 3.74), though Nut has his highest ERA since 2299 with Roxbury (4.30). The Bullpen ERA was also 5th (4.16), led by CL David "AntAgonist" Kidd (28 SV, 2.98). SP Tommy Beach (10-11, 5.39) had his worst ERA since 2297 (6.79) and will be relegated to the bullpen in the playoffs with SP Deedee Martinson (11-8, 4.87) getting the call as the third starter. Starlight returns to the playoffs for the first time since 2302, also as the 4th seed. The Killers' revamped team and lineup did well in moving to 3rd in runs scored (650). While they are not as powerful of a team as some (6th with 159 HR), they were top three in every other offensive category, including 1st in stolen bases (84). The heart of the offense is 1B Oren Gep (.302/49/124) who came to the Killers last season in a surprise trade for prospect pitcher Scott Fuhr. Other 2306 contributors were SS Nick Maris (.313/18/70/14 SB), CF Glenn Higinbotham (.321/27/86/28 SB), C Biter Trout (.329/6/66), and RF Goody Cloyse (.312/19/87). The pitching was not as good, finishing 7th in runs allowed (543). That was not the fault of the starting pitching, which finished 2nd in ERA (3.92). Ace SP Digger Vadim (11-12, 3.30) had his first losing season, though his ERA was better than his career average of 3.38. Still, he lost in faceoffs against other aces. SP Alex Alexson (16-6, 3.01) had more success overall, and SP Quest Dawg (12-9, 4.49) is still an up-and-coming pitcher who went 4-1, 3.58 since joining the KIllers from Spectacle Island in July. The bullpen was not good, finishing 10th in Bullpen ERA (5.93). CL Ryan Mills (30 SV, 4.55) was among the best in the bullpen, though Starlight could have competed for a title this season with a better pen. Prediction Starlight seems to be on the rise, but it is always dangerous to go against Nordhagen Beach's experience and overall success. We will pick the Boys to slightly edge the Killers, 2 games to 1. SCA Playoffs - #5 Jamaica Plain Red Rockets (66-54) vs #4 University Point Deathclaws (71-49) Season Series University Point 9, Jamaica Plain 3 May 18-20 @UP: JP 5-4, UP 7-0, JP 8-2 June 1-3 @JP: UP 2-1, UP 11-4, UP 6-1 July 20-22 @UP: UP 9-2, UP 14-8, JP 10-2 August 24-26 @JP: UP 7-5, UP 12-7, UP 5-2 Analysis Both franchises started slowly in finding success, but now they have both been in the playoffs six of the past seven seasons, with University Point appearing in seven straight. Jamaica Plain missed the playoffs in 2303. In 2305, the Deathclaws won it all, their second championship, and they come in with a 9-3 season series advantage in 2306, including winning all six games in Jamaica Plain. The Red Rockets have been on the brink of reaching the Sole Survivor Series twice, but lost by 4-3 margins in the SCA Final twice (2302 vs the Claws and 2304 vs Roxbury). This season will mark the 5th time they have met in the playoffs with each team having won two series: 2300 Play-in: #4 Jamaica Plain 2, #5 University Point 1 2302 SCA Championship: #4 University Point 4, #2 Jamaica Plain 3 2304 SCA Semifinal: #2 Jamaica Plain 3, #3 University Point 2 2305 SCA Semifinal: #2 University Point 3, #3 Jamaica Plain 0 Jamaica Plain was consistently at or around 5th in the SCA in most offensive categories, including 5th in runs scored (611). However, they were the 2nd most powerful team with 195 home runs, including seven in the lineup who hit 12 or more. Rookie 21-year-old LF Ken Debate (.284/44/95) was phenomenal, making the trade that sent SP Digger Vadim to Starlight well worth it. Other top contributors included 2B Bulleye Shooterson (.323/31/86), CF Hid Matsumoto (.284/25/66), SS Jake Doucette (.289/21/60), and 1B Damani Beebe (.269/24/68). Other than the 8th and 9th spots, this lineup is formidable. For pitching, the loss of Vadim was evident, even with the acquisition of SP Derek Green (16-11, 4.20) in the offseason. The Rockets finished 5th in runs allowed (577) and 8th in Starters ERA (4.75). While he finished with a losing record, SP Tim Fusion (12-13, 3.93) had the best overall performances on the season. SP Chris Deathclaw (9-12, 6.04) had his worst season with the Red Rockets and worst since 2299 with Finch Farm when he started 5-8 with a 6.34 ERA before being traded to Jamaica Plain where he finished the season at 7-12 with a 5.66 ERA. The Rockets' bullpen also struggled, finishing 7th with a 4.50 ERA. CL Doug Dee El (28 SV, 3.44) was OK, and RP T-Bone Heagy (5-3, 2.62) was their best overall performer from the pen. University Point was an offensive juggernaut in 2305, but were not as good in 2306 despite still finishing 1st in runs scored (697). Part of the Deathclaws' problem this season has been the injury bug, losing both SS Austin Engill (.225/29/85) and RF Tomas Jones (.304/20/89) for significant amounts of time. Jones is out for the Play-in Round and would probably be out for the SCA Semifinals should the Claws win their first series. Someone who did not struggle was 1B Barker Cocoa (.401/45/128) who became the second player ever to hit over .400, seven points behind Jarrett Metalbox who hit .408 in 2298 for Easy Town, and will likely win his fourth-straight Nuka Hitter Award. CF Aesed Hayjen (.374/34/92/11 SB) also had another stellar season. Pitching is not University Point's strength, but it was also not detrimental to success. The Deathclaws finished 6th in runs allowed (586), 6th in Starters ERA (4.60), and 8th in Bullpen ERA (4.61). The three playoff starters all helped: Tony Bertha (11-6, 3.37), Wilson Beachball (12-8, 4.28), and 37-year-old Phlip Wallace (12-8, 4.50). Nobody in the bullpen was outstanding, but RP Marc Pondsip (3-2, 3.05), 40-year-old Tom Mannequin (0-0, 2.87), and CL Chase Southie (30 SV, 3.77) all helped. Prediction The defending champions can still put up runs and they were highly successful against the Rockets. We will choose the Claws to take this one in three games, 2-1.

This could shape out to be a great postseason. Can't believe how close a lot of the teams are record wise, especially how hot Vault 81 got to overtake the Rad Sox. Funny how not too long ago I thought three of the races were settled, but we got three good races at the end!
Still think the Rad Sox are the best. My guess is them vs the Bloodbugs in the final. But it could go so many other ways. Can't wait! |

As for the current ongoing status of baseball: I agree with ayaghamour, this is actually quite the interesting bracket we got here for the post season, I think a bit more variation than we might have thought we'd get given the general sentiments going around the past few seasons. Eager to see how it goes.

I think a County Crossing-Roxbury prediction is a safe choice. I am past the Play-in Round now, so eight teams remain. Of those eight, the Bugs and Sox are probably the most talented and deepest teams. Looking at Vault 81, though, they seemed to come from nowhere, but they made two trades that makes them very deep in their lineup. Maybe one or two of those guys can be traded for pitching and then they could be favorites in 2307. That' crazy to say about the team with the CBO's 2nd-best record, but I am not sure they even performed as well as they could have. In the NCA, any of County Crossing, Easy Town, and Sunshine Tidings look to have teams of overcoming the SSS jinx that has mostly been in place. It seems that the SCA is a bit weaker this season, so this season is the best time as any. Anyway, I am already going to predict both Spectacle Island and Vault 81 to fall in the next round since their players are not seasoned playoff veterans like those from the Claws, Rockets, and Sox.

2306 CBO Playoffs
BNN Report News from the CBO, MML, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 21 September 2306 Play-in Results NCA: Nordhagen Beach 2, Starlight 0 Game 1: Nordhagen Beach 3 at Starlight 2 Party Boys Edge Killers 3-2 to Open PiS The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys faced a tough opponent in Starlight Killers pitcher Digger Vadim, but did just enough to pull out a win in Game 1 of the Play-in Series, which they now lead 1-0. The Party Boys won 3-2 at Valentine Detective Agency Field, despite the Killers getting a strong start from right-hander Vadim, who went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Nordhagen Beach used the timely hitting of Jonathan Abern to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Party Boys on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer. "There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Abern told the Nordhagen Beach Gazette. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Valentine Detective Agency Field in Lexington. Game 2: Nordhagen Beach 13 at Starlight 1 Party Boys Move on to Association Semifinal The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys outclassed the Starlight Killers in all facets of the game throughout the NCA Play-in Series. The end result was a Nordhagen Beach series sweep to advance to the Association Semifinal, capped off by a 13-1 win in the final game. "We're a bit surprised it's over in a sweep, to be honest with you," said center fielder Maxx Murtagh, who hit .444 in the series. Murtagh's standout effort garnered him MVP honors. He also put up a .500 on-base percentage and had 1 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Party Boys jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the 1st and never looked back in knocking the Killers out. Murtagh was 4 for 5 with a double, a home run, three runs, and three RBI. Jonathan Angelou had two hits, both homers, scored twice, and knocked in four. Ugio Church pitched the complete game, allowing just one run on four hits with a walk and seven strikeouts. The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys will play against the County Crossing Bloodbugs in the next round. County Crossing had a bye in the Play-in Series. The Association Semifinal schedule will be announced after the Play-in Series finishes. SCA: Jamaica Plain 2, University Point 0 Game 1: Jamaica Plain 2 at University Point 1 Red Rockets Edge Deathclaws 2-1 to Open PiS The Play-in Series got off to a quiet start today, with the traveling Jamaica Plain Red Rockets taking a low-scoring 2-1 win over the host University Point Deathclaws. Jamaica Plain left-hander Tim Fusion was marvelous at Gwinnett Brewery Park. The Red Rockets now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 series. Though he didn't earn the victory, Fusion kept his team in the game until the bullpen took over and the Jamaica Plain offense came through. Over 7 innings, he allowed 3 hits and 1 run, while striking out 6. "We found a way to get it done," Fusion said. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Gwinnett Brewery Park in Boston. Game 2: Jamaica Plain 9 at University Point 3 Red Rockets Win Play-in Series It's a sweet sweep for the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets and they have won the Play-in Series. The University Point Deathclaws were not able to keep pace with the Red Rockets and dropped the series in short order, losing 9-3 in the deciding game. "This wasn't really the effort we hoped for," said University Point manager Woody Lumpkin. It's now on to the Association Semifinal for Jamaica Plain after their 2-0 series win. Leading the way for the winners was second baseman Bulleye Shooterson, who was named MVP. For the series, Shooterson hit .444 with a .444 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Red Rockets blew open the game in the top of the 3rd, scoring five runs to break a 1-1 tie. Jake Doucette led off with a double off Claws' starter Wilson Beachball. Hid Matsumoto then singled, and Doucette scored from third later on a wild pitch. Shooterson singled in Matsumoto with runners on the corner, and then Carney Cornseed hit a two-run home run to make it 5-1, chasing Beachball from the game. Damani Beebe added another home run on a 14-pitch at bat against reliever Bow Rome. Shooterson finished the game 3 for 4 with a home run, two runs, and four RBI. Mike Castillo had three hits for University Point in a losing effort. Austin Engill drove in two for the Claws. The Jamaica Plain Red Rockets will play against the Vault 81 Dwellers in the next round. Vault 81 had a bye in the Play-in Series. The Association Semifinal schedule will be announced after the Play-in Series finishes. Playoff Tree

2306 CBO Playoffs
BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 21 September 2305 NCA Semifinals Preview NCA Playoffs - #5 Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (62-58) vs #1 County Crossing Bloodbugs (78-42) Season Series County Crossing 10, Nordhagen Beach 2 May 4-6 @NB: NB 6-4, CC 10-6, CC 10-2 July 27-29 @CC: CC 5-4, CC 6-5, CC 4-3 August 3-5 @NB: CC 5-4, CC 9-1, CC 7-3 August 10-12 @CC: NB 7-2, CC 6-5, CC 10-5 Analysis After finishing at or near the bottom of the Brotherhood League their first five years of existence, County Crossing has now turned that around and made their sixth-straight playoff appearance, winning the BL for the third time in the past four years. The Bloodbugs made the Sole Survivor Series just once, a 2304 appearance where they were dominated by Roxbury, 4 games to 1. This season, County Crossing also dominated the Party Boys, winning 10 of 12 regular season games. This will mark the 4th time the Bugs and Nordhagen Beach meet in the playoffs, all in the NCA Final before, all won by the higher seed, and now the third-straight season: 2301 NCA Final: #1 Nordhagen Beach 4, #3 County Crossing 0 2304 NCA Final: #1 County Crossing 4, #3 Nordhagen Beach 1 2305 NCA Final: #2 Nordhagen Beach 4, #5 County Crossing 3 County Crossing's offense was dominant all season, finishing number 1 in all categories but stolen bases and base running (11th). They scored 713 runs and hit 212 home runs, tied with Sunshine Tidings for the top power number. RF Babs Rooth (.348/53/125) appears he will win his second Nuka Hitter Award, and 1B Zeldolph Violet (.334/39/106) would be the top player on most teams. Other 2306 standouts include SS Cy Thompson (.294/37/96), 3B Taygun Topaloglu (.339/22/76), and CF Any Why (.286/24/74). All eight players in the starting lineup hit at least .260 and had at least 10 home runs. Who can stop them from scoring? The pitching does not match the offense, but that does not mean they are bad. The Bloddbugs finished 4th in runs allowed (535) and 3rd in Starters ERA (4.05). Leading the way is SP Gavin Eviritts (19-5, 4.11), who took advantage of the best run support in the league. The other two playoff starters, SP College Luckyman (12-6, 3.25) and SP Whip Lashley (15-5, 3.95) had good seasons. The bullpen was 6th with a 4.25 ERA. Wick Prater (30 SV, 4.55) took over as closer this season, displacing Jesse Bibeault (5-0, 2.08) who was hurt for a good portion of the season but looks fully healthy now. Bibeault had 33-36-36 saves the past three seasons, and his ERA was below 3.00 in four seasons as the closer. RP Drama Miller (4-4, 2.84) also helped the bullpen. Prediction Despite Nordhagen Beach returning to the top last season, winning the BL and the NCA Final over County Crossing, we expect the Bloodbugs to continue their 2306 domination over the Boys. We predict that County Crossing will win this one in four, 3 games to 1. NCA Playoffs - #3 Easy Town Assaultrons (76-44) vs #2 Sunshine Tidings Chemists (76-44) Season Series Sunshine Tidings 5, Easy Town 3 May 1-2 @ST: ET 3-2, ET 7-6 May 22-23 @ST: ST 10-5, ET 7-3 June 12-13 @ET: ST 4-3, ST 4-3 August 14-15 @ET: ST 6-2, ST 6-5 Analysis This season series was a strange one with the home team going 1-7 in the eight games the two teams played in the season. Whether that has significance for the playoffs is yet to be seen, but we are considering that statistical anomaly in our prediction. For the teams, Sunshine Tidings ended up winning 5 of 8, including the last four, all in Easy Town. The Assaultrons also enter the playoffs having to be disappointed that they did not hold on to the #1 seed; being the CBO's best for most of the season, they finished tied for 3rd in the CBO behind County Crossing and Vault 81 for the top record. Both teams have to think they are capable of winning it all, though they will probably have to get through the Bloodbugs to prove it. First, one of these two good-to-great teams is going to win this NCA Semifinal matchup. The Trons are making their 5th playoff appearance, including their third straight. The Chemists are making their 4th straight and 4th overall playoff appearance. Despite both teams being in the playoffs at the same time in 2304 and 2305, the teams have never met. Easy Town has one Sole Survivor Series appearance, a 2298 appearance as the NCA's #3 seed, but a 4-0 series loss to a tough Goodneighbor team. Sunshine Tidings has yet to win a series in the playoffs, falling 2-1 to #4 Fort Hagen as the #5 seed in 2303, dropping the series 3-0 to #3 Nordhagen Beach as the #2 seed in 2304, and then being swept again, this time by #5 County Crossing as the #1 seed in 2305. The Assaultron's offense was just behind County Crossing, finishing second with 657 runs scored. 1B/SP Lannie Tykeson, who appears to be exclusively a 1B in the playoffs set the association on fire once again, finishing with a .352/48/124 line. While Rooth is expected to win the NCA Hitter Award, Tykeson who won it last year is likely to be 2nd in voting. Other top contributors were CF Sharkey Lurkfodder (.309/20/63), LF Seas Samuels (.312/20/62), and 3B Dog Prairie (.287/28/92). The pitching was pretty good, too, with all four starters winning at least 12 games. The Trons finished 5th in runs allowed (536) and 4th in Starters ERA (4.20). SP Major Tom Brennan (19-9, 4.34) benefited from high run support, and the two other playoff starters, Charred Lee Widemore (14-7, 3.91) and Pete Pembroke (12-5, 4.08), pitched well. The bullpen finished 7th in ERA (4.57). CL Good Company Schiller (35 SV, 2.89) led the bullpen, along with RP/SP Austen Austin (3-4, 3.62). Tykeson (16-4, 4.47) will pitch in a pinch. Sunshine Tidings was the opposite of Easy Town, being OK on offense but great at pitching. The Chemists finished 5th on offense in runs scored (619) but tied for 1st in home runs (212), showing that they score on power and in bunches. The reason for the high home run numbers were because of five players hitting 25 or more dingers: RF Baktu DaWell (.311/39/96), 3B Ross Merchantman (.275/38/101), CF Ricky Ticky Laughy (.242/35/69), C Red Sone (.299/29/75), and 1B David Seaweed (.304/25/59). For pitching, the Chemists were 1st in all three top categories: runs allowed (473), Starters ERA (3.82), and Bullpen ERA (3.56). Helping in the first two categories was ace SP Eugene Gym (17-4, 3.75) tying his career high from last season in wins in his second season with Sunshine Tidings. The other two starters will be SP Mike Rubric (12-10, 3.28) and SP Joey Dimes (11-8, 3.84). The bullpen is led by CL Cush Baker (40 SV, 2.65) who led the CBO in saves and fell just short of Roxbury CL Andy Helium's record of 41 a season ago. Other key contributors in the playoffs will be SP Brian Bridges (12-5, 4.41), RP Jamie Collins (7-3, 3.04), RP Danny Haines (2-2, 2.20), and RP Jason Bourque (1-0, 1.61). Prediction This is a tough one to predict. We think that Sunshine Tidings is the better team overall, although the records are even. The home team struggled, and the Chemists have never won a playoff series, despite being the host in the Semifinals the past two seasons. This is a tough call, but we are going to predict Easy Town to edge out the Chemists, 3 games to 2.
