This photo shows Aulds in a Pawtucket Sox instead of a Boston Red Sox uniform, but it may be an improvement over what we have for this major league player. It's better than what is shown on Baseball-reference.com. It comes from the San Antonio Light of 5/31/1952.

Eddie Kasko's 1970 Topps card (I believe) is from his playing days for several reasons:

1. He is holding a bat with a #2 on the knob. Kasko wore #2 as a player; he wore #30 as a manager.
2. Kasko was named manager in October, 1969. This shot appears to be in a ML ballpark (Old Yankee Stadium?). That means that the shot would have had to be taken VERY early in the season...
3. The card is #489...which makes it a series 4 card...not one of the last two series, meaning it was an earlier release date.
4. Topps during this era had a tendency to use photos from earlier years.

Here are two photos from the Boston Globe.

The one on the left is from the issue of 5/30/1995. It shows Rhodes being hit in the face by a bouncing ball.

The one on the right is from the issue of 6/5/1995. Rhodes is in the foreground. I had to lighten his Red Sox uniform dramatically in order to bring out his facial features, as the quality of the photo was quite dark. The larger photo showed him congratulating Troy O'Leary on his heroic efforts in that day's game.
