April 4th-April 11th
April 4th, 2027: Happy Opening Day! While Marlins baseball isn't back yet, the MLB regular season starts today! We are projected to finish 97-65, good for 2nd in the NL and 2nd in the East. The Phillies (100-62) are the only team projected better then us, and we are followed by Atlanta (84-78), Washington (77-85), and New York (76-86). Jarred Kelenic (.303/.389/.514, 21 HR's, 103 RBI's, 25 SB) and three pitchers, Jordan Montgomery (16-7, 3.15 ERA, 148 K's), Jake Florence (15-10, 3.50 ERA, 179 K's), and Devon Peterson (15-8, 3.56 ERA, 169 K's) are projected to be top players in the league.
The top 100 prospects were published today, and our very own SS Rogelio Maldonado was ranked #1 in the league. We also rank 11th in the league for systems, although just Jackson Miller (64th) is also in the top 100. Some other notables include 1B Sean Taylor (104th), CF Juan Toeldo (122nd), and LF Sergio Serrano (165th). We start out season tomorrow against the Nationals, and will face Cole Ragans before an off day, followed by Clint Hinshaw and Gage Hinsz. The Nats selected Hinshaw 3rd overall in 2023, but I actually drafted him in the 4th round in 2020, although he decided not to sign with me. April 5th, 2027: The Pirates signed LHP Zach Britton to a 1-year, $3,920,000 contract. The 39-year-old has played for five teams in the past five seasons, with Pittsbrgh being the 6th. The Blue Jays signed SP German Marquez to a 1 year, $11.4 million contract. We opened our year with Jake Florence taking on Cole Ragans. Our 2027 Opening Day Lineup is as follows: CF Lile, 2B Hardamon, 1B Horvath, RF Kelenic, C Dillard, SS Nunez, 3B Reid, LF Ramirez, P Florence. Opening Day couldn't be much more perfect, and Jake Florence was brilliant in a 4-0 shutout win. Florence went 8 with just 4 hits, a walk, and 5 strikeouts. Luis Alcantra made his Marlins debut, 2 strikeouts in a perfect 9th. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a two run homer. Daylen Lile was 2-for-5 with a run scored. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-4 with a run scored and RBI. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-3 with a triple and walk. April 6th, 2027: Arizona signed C Alex Jackson to a 1-year, $2,560,000 contract. The Blue Jays signed RP's Andres Munoz (1-year, $3,560,000) and Trevor Gott (1-year, $5.4 million). Gott will be returning to the Jays. April 7th, 2027: Game two of the season saw Steve Paustian face Clint Hinshaw, who's making his first career big league start after spending last year in the pen. Despite a 1 year age difference, Paustian has made 88 more starts then Hinshaw. The Nats really capitalized in the 5th and 6th, and they evened the opening series with a 8-4 win. Paustian went 5 innings with 9 hits, 4 runs, a walk, and 6 strikeouts. Cho-yeong Hyoun made his Marlins debut, and allowed 2 hits, 3 runs, and 2 walks, while getting just 1 out. Marc Bjork allowed a run in 1.2 innings with 2 hits, a walk, and 4 strikeouts. Marc Bjork went 1.2 innings with 2 hits, a run, a walk, and 4 strikeotus. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-4 with a base clearing double and a solo homer. Chris Reid was 1-for-3 with a walk, steal, and run scored. Jon Reid came off the bench and went 1-for-2 with a run scored. Former Marlin Brennan Malone tossed a 4-hit shutout in a 2-0 win over the Rangers in his first start with Hsouston. April 8th, 2027: We looked to win the opening series with Devon Peterson taking on Kyle Molnar. We got four in the first, and even though that was all we'd get, it was enough for a 4-2 win. Peterson was solid, 7 innings with 7 hits, 7 strikeouts, 2 runs, and a walk. Riley Ferrell made his Marlins debut, pitching the 8th with a walk while earning the hold. Alpha Quivers got the save, an inning with a hit and strikeout in his first game of 2027. Thomas Daillard was 2-for-4 with a three run homer, and he's homered in every game so far this year. Just for fun, he's on pace to hit 162 homers with 432 RBI's and will be worth 32.9 wins above replacement. Wouldn't that be the best way to enter Free Agency? Mac Horvath was 1-for-5 with a double and run scored. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-4. Daylen Lile was 2-for-4 with a walk and run scored. We're on to the Big Apple to face the Mets for three games. We'll see former Marlins Luis Ardon and Tyler Mahle, as well as the ace of the staff Noah Syndergaard (1-0, 0.00 ERA). April 9th, 2027: We opened the Mets series with Jordan Montgomery taking on Luis Ardon. Monty is the longest tenured Marlin, and he's been with the organization since 2019. Not positive, but he likely has started the most games in Marlins history as well. The awful Mets have last year have started the season hot, and beat us 5-2 to improve to a perfect 4-0. Montgomery allowed 7 hits and 4 runs in 5 innings with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. Hyoun allowed an unearned run in 2 innings with 2 hits, a walk, and 2 strikeouts. Juan Ramirez was 3-for-5 with 2 doubles. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Mac Horvath was 2-for-5 with an RBI and steal. Chris Reid was 2-for-4.s April 10th, 2027: The Dodgers signed CL Nick Burdi to a 1-year, $4,320,000 contract. We looked to even the series with Ignacio Hinojos making his first start as a Marlin against Tyler Mahle. We scored 7 in the first 2 innings to win the middle game 9-2. Hinojos pitched well, 6.1 innings with 6 hits, 2 runs, 3 walks, and 8 strikeouts. Jared Taylor pitched in his first game as a Marlin, 2.2 innings with a hit and 3 strikeouts. Daylen Lile was 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI's and a doubles. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-3 with a walk, hit by pitch, and grand slam (130 homers and 389 RBI's now...). Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-3 with 2 walks, 2 runs, and a solo homer. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-4 with 2 runs and a triple. Chris Reid was 1-for-2 with a homer, 3 runs, 2 RBI's, a walk, and hit by pitch. I checked the Marlins game start leaders, with 205, he has the most in our history, ahead of Ricky Nolasco (197). Walker Buehler (140, 5th) is the only other of my players in the top 10. Monty also ranks third in ERA (3.39), although first for all pitchers with more then 1,000 innings, 3rd in wins (65), 2nd in pWAR (23.6), 2nd in innings (1,091), 2nd in BB/9 (2.2, Nolasco is 2.1), 2nd in strikeouts (950), t-1st (with Buehler) for K/BB (3.6), 2nd in WHIP (1.18), and 1st in rWAR (26.9). April 11th, 2027: We looked to win the series with Jake Florence (1-0, 0.00 ERA, 0.63 WHIP) taking on Noah Syndergaard (1-0, 0.00 ERA, 0.94 WHIP) in an ace-off at Citi Field. The Mets got six in the sixth and won the finale 8-0. Florence allowed 6 (4 earned) in 6 innings with 7 hits, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Jared Taylor allowed 2 runs in an inning with 2 hits and 2 walks. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-3 with a double. Jhon Solarte and Chris Reid were also 1-for-3. Syndergaard went the distance, just thouse 3 hits with 10 strikeouts. We're headed home to host the Braves in our first home series of the year. We'll see Lucas Sims (0-1, 5.79 ERA), Ty Madden (0-1, 9.00 ERA), and Justin Dunn (0-1, 21.00 ERA). |

April 12th-April 18th
April 12th, 2027: The first set of Power Rankings as us sit at 17th. At 3-3, I can't expect to be rankes high.
We started our first homestand, a long one, hosting the Braves and Lucas Sims (0-1, 5.79 ERA, 1.93 WHIP). Steve Paustian (0-1, 7.20 ERA, 2.00 WHIP) took the mound for us in our home opener of 2027. It was a close and high scoring affair, but it was tied at 8th in the seventh. If we didn't allow 5 in the fourth... Fast foward all the way to the 14th, and Chris Reid hit a walk off solo homer off former Marlin Touki Toussaint. Paustian had a rough outing, 4 innings with 8 hits, 7 runs, 2 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers allowed the run in the 9th off a hit and strikeout. Cho-yeong Hyoun tossed 3 innings with a hit, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Jarred Taylor got the win, an inning with a walk and 2 strikeouts. Reid was the hero, 3-for-7 with two homers and 4 RBI's. Jarred Kelenic was 3-for-6 with a double, triple, 2 runs, 3 RBI's, and a steal. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-6 with a homer, 3 runs scored, and a hit by pitch. Daylen Lile was 1-for-6 with a walk, 2 runs, and a steal. Jake Taylor was 1-for-5 with a double and walk. April 13th, 2027: We looked to take the second game as well, with Devon Peterson (1-0, 2.57 ERA, 1.14 WHIP) taking on Ty Madden (0-1, 9.00 ERA, 1.75 WHIP). Another walkoff, as Jake Taylor hit a sac-fly off Eric Burtrum, and we won 5-4. Thomas Dillard left with a bruised toe, but he'll likely just miss tomorrow. And, Taylor was his repalcement. Peterson allowed 10 hits and 3 runs in 7 innings with a walk and 6 strikeouts. Riley Ferell allowed an unearned run in an inning with 2 hits. Alpha Quivers got the win with a walk and a strikeout. Mac Horvath was 2-for-2 with a run scored, RBI, walk, and hit by pitch. Eric Kisela was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a double and RBI. Daylen Lile was 1-for-5 with a steal and run scored. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-4 with a walk and run scored. April 14th, 2027: I claimed former Marlin Tylor Megill off waivers and I optioned Cho-yeong Hyoun to AAA. Megill will replace Igancio Hinojos in the rotation. Jordan Montgomery (0-1, 7.20 ERA, 1.80 WHIP) took on Justin Dunn (0-1, 21.00 ERA, 3.33 WHIP) as we looked to finish off the sweep. The pitching looked great today, and we shut them out 1-0 to finish the sweep. Monty left after just 2.2 innings with a sore elbow, but he should be ready for his next start. The pen combined for 6.1 innings with 4 hits, 2 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Luis Alcantra tossed 1.1 innings with a walk and 4 strikeouts. Danny Niewald got the win, 1.1 innings with 2 hits and 2 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers got the save, an inning with a strikeout. We had just 2 hits, the iggest a solo shot by Chris Reed, who's been extremely hot to start the year, hitting .360/.467/.840 with 4 hoemrs and 8 RBI's. He was 1-for-2 with a walk. Jhon Solarte had the other hit, a pinch hit double in the 8th. Down in AA, Nate Bagwell was 5-for-6 in a 9-4 win over the Mississippi Braves. Rockies starter Juan Coira tossed a 6-hit shut out in a 11-0 win over the Giants. We get tomorrow off before the Phillies come to town for three. April 15th, 2027: The Cubs returned Rule-5 Pick Chris Dito. The 28-year-old hit .500/.571/.833 in 6 at bats. Looking ahead to tomorrow, we'll see Bobby Stiles (1-0, 2.57 ERA), Jim Gilbert (1-1, 3.21 ERA), and Josh Weske (2-0, 2.45 ERA) of the first place Phillies. April 16th, 2027: I claimed LF Tyrese Ephron off waivers from the Pirates, optioned 1B Spencer Jones to AAA, and DFA'd 2B Anotni Flores. The Blue Jays added another reliever, righty Edwin Diaz to a 1-year, $31.5 million contract. He's made a living off these big 1-year, $30+ million contracts, the 5th of his career. The series opened with recently acquired Tylor Megill (1-0, 1.69 ERA, 1.13 WHIP) facing Bobby Stiles (1-0, 2.57 ERA, 0.57 WHIP). Tied at three in the 9th, Xavier Carter hit a two run homer off Riley Ferrell, and the Phillies won the opener 5-3. Megill allowed 7 hits and 3 runs in 5.1 innings with 5 walks and 2 strikeouts. Ferell allowed 2 runs and 3 hits with 2 walks in 1+ innings. Why did they trot him out for the 9th... Thomas Dillard was 2-for-3 with a double, run scored, RBI, and he was hit by a pitch. Daylen Lile was 2-for-5 with a run scored. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-4 with a sac-fly and run scored. Chris Reed was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk. April 17th, 2027: I claimed another former Marlin, Luis Ardon, off waivers. I DFA'd Gunnar Hoglund and optioned Jared Taylor to AAA. Ardon will replace Megill in the 5 spot. This is the 2nd time I claimed Ardon off waivers after trading him. The middle game saw Jake Florence (1-1, 2.57 ERA, 1.00 WHIP) take on Jim Gilbert (1-1, 3.21 ERA, 0.93 WHIP) as we looked to even up the series. Runs were extremely common, and the game finished 9 innings tied at 9 runs a piece. In the 10th, former Philly Isaac Nunez hit a walk off single off Blake Treinen, who spent last year in my minor league system. Florence went 5 innings with 8 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Danny Niewald blew the save the first tiem, 0.2 innings with 3 hits, 3 runs, and 2 strikeouts. Igancio Hinojos blew the save a 2n time, 0.1 innings with 2 hits, 2 runs, and a strikeout. Before him, Ernesto Estrella allowed a hit, that later scored when Hinojos was pitching, to the only batter he faced. Alpha Quivers struck out the side in the 9th. Riley Ferrell got the win, an inning with a hit. Nunez was only 1-for-6 with the big walk off. Deshawn Hardamon was 3-for-4 with 4 runs, a walk, a double, and an RBI. Daylen Lile came off the bench, a perfect 3-for-3 with 2 runs, an RBI, and a triple. Jarred Kelenic was 2-for-5 with 2 runs, 2 RBI's, a double, homer, and steal. Jhon Solarte was 2-for-3 with a run scored, RBI, and steal. Tyrese Ephron was 1-for-2 with a run scored, 2 RBI's, a walk, and a steal. Mac Horvath was 1-for-4 with an RBI, walk, and triple. Rangers 2B Tank Espalin was 5-for-6 in a 10-7 win over the Mariners. April 18th, 2027: We looked to finish the series with a win, as Steve Paustian (0-1, 11.00 ERA, 2.22 WHIP) needed to have a good start against former Marlin 1st Rounder Josh Weske (2-0, 2.45 ERA, 0.64 WHIP). It was another extra inning affair, but they edged us 5-4 in 11 innings. None other then Tyler Callihan hit an RBI single off Marc Bjork. Paustian went 5 innings with 4 hits, 4 runs, 3 walks, and 3 strikeotus. Before Bjork, 6 relievers tossed single innings with a hit, walk, and 6 strikeouts. Bjork allowed a run off 3 hits with a strikeout. Tyrese Ephron was 2-for-3 with a solo homer. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-3 with 2 walks, a run scored, and steal. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-5 with a triple and RBI. Mac Horvath was 1-for-5 with a run scored, RBI, and triple. Orioles LF Josh Shuler hit three hoemrs in an 8-2 win over the Yankees. We finish the homestand as the Nationals come to town for three. We'll see Kyle Molnar (1-1, 3.48 ERA), Tyler Dyson (1-0, 0.96 ERA), and Gage Hinsz (0-1, 14.73 ERA). Before I finish this post, I got curious about some Marlins career records that my players have recorded. Thomas Dillard is ranked 7th in OBP with Seth Beer right behind him. Beer is 5th in slugging, with Dillard behind him. Guess who ranks 6th and 7th in OPS? Why of course Dillard and Beer. In terms of oWAR, Dillard ranks 4th. Lewis Brinson ranks 8th in games played for htiters and at bats. Beer ranks 10th in runs. Brinson ranks 9th in total bases and 5th in triples. Seth Beer ranks 5th in homers. Brinson is 9th in RBI's and 8th in steals. Cole Brannen ranks 7th in steals. Beer is 6th in walks. Moving on to pitching (not counting Monty), Walker Buehler is 2nd in ERA and 7th in wins. Yasukazu Shiotani is the All-Time leader for saves with 136. Jorge Moya is 7th, Brad Brach 9th, and Alpha Quivers 10th. Buehler is 4th in pWAR. Shiotani is 3rd in games pitched, Drew Steckenrider 6th, and Kyle Barraclough 10th. Buehler is 5th in starts and 10th in innings pitched. A.J. Puckett is 3rd in BB/9 and Buehler 4th. He's also 3rd in strikeouts and 1st in K/9. Jake Florence ranks 7th. Buehler is 2nd in K/BB and Puckett 6th. Puck is also 5th in WHIP. Buehler is 4th in rWAR. |

April 19th-April 25th
April 19th, 2027: I outrighted 2B Antoni Flores to AAA.
The Power Rankings moved us up to 12th. At 7-5, it's not the best start, but it could be better. We hosted the Nationals with Devon Peterson (1-0, 3.21 ERA, 1.36 WHIP) taking on Kyle Molnar (1-1, 3.48 ERA, 1.74 WHIP). Peterson had a rough start, but the offense scored in every inning except two (not counting the 9th) and we won 9-4. Deshawn Hardamon left with calf soreness and Daylen Lile was ejected in the 4th for arguing a strike call. Peterson ended up finishing 7 innings with 7 hits, 4 runs, and 5 strikeouts. Danny Nieawld tossed 1.1 innings with 3 strikeouts. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-5 with a two run homer. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-5 with 2 runs and a solo homer. Hardamon had an RBI double in his only at bat. Chris Reid was 3-for-5 with 3 runs, an RBI, and a steal. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-3 with a steal, RBI, and walk. Jarred Kelenic was 2-for-4 with a run scored, RBI, and a walk. Mac Horvath was 1-for-2 with an RBI and two walks. April 20th, 2027: The Indians will be without RHP Angel Tiburcio for the year with a stretched elbow ligament. In 4.1 innings, he allowed 2 runs and struck out 2. The middle game saw Jordan Montgomery (0-1, 4.70 ERA, 1.43 WHIP) face Gage Hinsz (0-1, 14.73 ERA, 2.45 WHIP). There was a lot less runs scored today, and we edged them 3-1. Monty was almost perfect, 7 innings with 2 hits, a run, and 7 strikeouts. Ignacio Hinojos struck out the side in the 8th and got a hold. Alpha Quivers earned the save with a hit and 2 strikeouts. Eric Kisela, our Rule-5 pick, was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI's. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-4 with a run scored and a steal. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-3 with a walk. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored. I outrighted Gunnar Hoglund to AAA. April 21st, 2027: 37-year-old veteran southpaw Daniel Coulombe will miss the rest of the year with a torn flexor tendon. In his long career, he's tossed 438 innings good for a 4.73 ERA and 1.50 WHIP, although this is likely the last season of his career. We looked to finish the sweep with Luis Ardon (1-0, 1.50 ERA, 1.17 WHIP) making his first start with us (one with the Mets) this year against Cole Ragans (1-1, 1.93 ERA, 1.07 WHIP). Ardon and the pen were great, and we shut them out 3-0 to win the series 3-0. Ardon went 5.1 innings with 5 hits, a walk, and 7 strikeouts. Luis Alcantra, Ernesto Estrella, and Riley Ferrell got holds before Alpha Quivers got the save. Alcantra tossed 1.2 innings with a hit and 3 strikeouts. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a steal, run scored, and RBI. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a steal and run scored. Mac Horvath was 1-for-2 with 2 walks and a run scored. Ardon was 0-for-1, but drew a walk with the bases loaded. We're off to Cincy for four with the also 10-5 Reds. We'll see Esteban Aguirre (2-0, 1.31 ERA), Steve Hayes (0-0, 2.93 ERA), Peter Solomon (0-1, 7.56 ERA), and Alan Taylor (1-1, 3.77 ERA). April 22nd, 2027: We opened the Reds series with Jake Florence (1-1, 3.32 ERA, 1.26 WHIP) taking on rising star Esteban Aguirre (2-0, 1.31 ERA, 0.63 WHIP). I'm definitely jealous of this youngster... He pitched well, but we were able to outlast the Reds 4-2. Deshawn Hardamon left with another injury, yay... He was 1 day away from recovery and I benched him yesterday.. He's also dropped from 3.5 to 3 star overall and 5 to 3.5 potential. Yay again... Florence went 6.1 innings with 4 hits, 2 runs, and 7 strikeouts. Danny Niewald got the win, Estrella and Ferrell holds, and Alcantra a save. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-3 with a solo homer and walk. I really want to extend him, and actually have the money, but I'm worries that it'll handicap me too much and I like Jackson Miller for the future. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-5 with a two run homer. Mac Horvath was 1-for-3 with a walk, steal, and run scored. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-2 with a double. April 23rd, 2027: We looked to stretch the win streak to five with Steve Paustian (0-1, 9.64 ERA, 1.93 WHIP) looking to heat up against Steve Hayes (0-0, 2.93 ERA, 1.30 WHIP). It was another close one, but they evened the series with a 3-2 win. Paustian pitched 6.2 innings with 5 hits, 3 runs, 3 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Danny Niewald tossed 1.1 innings with a hit, walk, and strikeout. Chris Reid was 2-for-5 with a solo homer. Mac Horvath was 1-for-4 with a walk and RBI. Daylen Lile was 1-for-3 with 2 walks. April 24th, 2027: Hardamon just has a strained rib cage muscle, and will miss about 5 days. No DL stint for him, and I'll just bench him for 5 games. We looked to re-take the series lead with Devon Peterson (2-0, 3.86 ERA, 1.24 WHIP) taking on Peter Solomon (0-1, 7.56 ERA, 1.20 WHIP). We were firing on all cylinders, and won 9-1. Peterson tossed 5.2 innings with 3 hits, a run, 4 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Tylor Megill tossed 2.1 innings with 1 hit, 1 walk, and 5 strikeouts. Isaac Nunez was 3-for-5 with a two run homer. Chris Reid was 2-for-4 with a solo homer, 3 RBI's, and a steal. Jarred Kelenic was 2-for-3 with 2 doubles, 2 walks, 2 runs, and an RBI. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with 2 runs, a walk, and a double. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-5 with a run scored, double, and 2 RBI's. April 25th, 2027: Before he breaks out, I signed 1B Mac Horvath to a 1-year, $5,240,000 contract to cover his final arbitration year. I was worried that it would jump during the season, and that's not something I want to deal with. We looked to win the finale and the series with Jordan Montgomery (1-1, 3.07 ERA, 0.89 WHIP) taking on Alan Taylor (1-1, 3.27 ERA, 1.12 WHIP). We couldn't score, and they shut us out 1-0. But honestly, a road split with a good team isn't too bad. Monty went 6 with 3 hits, a run, 3 walks, and 4 strikeouts. The pen tossed 2 innings with 2 strikeouts. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-3 with a walk and steal. Mac Horvath was 1-for-2 with a walk. Daylen Lile was 1-for-3 with a walk and steal. We're off for two in Minnesota before a needed off day. We'll see Liam Norris (0-1, 2.40 ERA) and Jeremy Hyenk (2-1, 2.35 ERA). |

April 26th-May 2nd
April 26th, 2027: At 12-7, we are 1 game out of first and up to 9th in the Power Rankings.
The Rays and Mariners made an April trade, with RF Mike Siani and RHP B.J. Baker heading to the Mariners for RHP Mitchell White. This is actually a pretty big trade, and I like it for both teams. We opened the quick two game set with Luis Ardon (2-0, 0.79 ERA, 1.15 WHIP) facing Liam Norris (0-1, 2.40 ERA, 1.00 WHIP). Up 3-2, Royce Lewis tied up the game with a RBI Double off Alpha Quivers. Fast foward to the 15th, we got 4 runs and won the opener 7-3 in a 5 hour and 20 minute game. Ardon went 6.1 innings with 7 hits, 2 runs, and 6 strikeouts. Ignacio Hinojos went 1.2 innings with 2 strikeouts while earning the hold. Quivers blew the save, a hit, run, and walk in the 9th. Riley Ferrell went 3 innings with 2 hits and 2 strikeouts in extras. Luis Alcantra got the win, 2.2 perfect innings with 3 strikeouts. Jarred Kelenic went 2-for-7 with a two run homer. Thomas Dillard went 1-for-5 with a run scored, walk, and double. Eric Kisela was 1-for-3 with a double, run scored, and 2 RBI's. Chris Reid was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Typhrese Ephron was 1-for-5 with 2 runs, a walk, and a steal. April 27th, 2027: The Rays will be without RHP David Bednar for the year with bone chips in his elbow. He made 7 relif appearence with 5.2 innings with a 7.94 ERA and 6 strikeouts. We looked to finish the quick two game series with Jake Florence (1-1, 3.20 ERA, 1.11 WHIP) taking on Jeremy Hynek (2-1, 2.35 ERA, 0.87 WHIP). The team is extremely tired, so a lot of becnh players took the field. We score in 8 of 9 innings, and won the finale 12-3. Florence tossed 5 innings with 2 hits, a run, 3 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Marc Bjork tossed 2 innings with 3 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Tylor Megill tossed 2 innings with 2 hits, a run, and 2 strikeouts. Juan Ramirez was 3-for-6 with 3 runs, a solo homer, and a steal. Eric Kisela went 3-for-5 with 3 doubles, a steal, a run scored, a walk, and 3 RBI's. Jon Reid went 2-for-4 with a sac fly and 3 RBI's. Mac Horvath was 1-for-5 with 2 runs, a walk, and a steal. Tomorrow is an off day as we head home. April 28th, 2027: FormerMarlin RHP Shane Smith is out for the year with a damaged elbow ligament. He was 2-0 with a 2.61 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 10.1 innings. We'll host the Cubs for four games, facing Pablo Ochoa (2-1, 5.03 ERA), Graeme Stinson (2-0, 2.70 ERA), A.J. Puckett (1-2, 5.17 ERA), and Jorge Flores (2-1, 2.93 ERA). April 29th, 2027: We opened the four game set with Steve Paustian (0-2, 7.84 ERA, 1.69 WHIP) taking on Pablo Ochoa (2-1, 5.03 ERA, 1.42 WHIP). We stayed hot with a 6-3 victory to start the series. Chris Reid was hit in the head, and left for precautionary reasons. Paustian went 7.1 innings with 5 hits, 3 runs, 3 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers got the save, a hit and strikeout in the 9th. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-3 with a two run homer, 2 runs scored, and a walk. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-4 with a run scored and RBI. April 30th, 2027: We looked to finish April strong, with Devon Peterson (3-0, 3.38 ERA, 1.24 WHIP) taking on Graeme Stinson (2-0, 2.70 ERA, 0.99 WHIP. The Cubs got six in the second, and thankfully, that was it, and we edged them 7-6. Peterson went 2 innings with 5 hits, 6 runs (5 earned), 3 walks, and 3 strikeotus. The rest of the pen tossed 7 innings with 5 hits, 3 walks, and 9 strikeouts. Every Marlin pitcher got a strikeout. Tylor Megill went 2.2 innings with a hit, 2 walks, and a strikeout. Danny Niewald got the win, a strikeout of the only batter he faced. Alpha Quivers got the save, 2 hits and a strikeout. Yankees starter Mitch Hart tossed a no-hitter with 9 strikeouts and 3 walks in an 8-0 win over the Jays. The former 28th overall pick is rated a 4/4.5\ and is in his 4th season at just 25. He's 1-0 with a 1.63 ERA and 0.83 WHIP. May 1st, 2027: Down in New Orleans, 3B Ben Davis was named American Confrence Batter of the Month, hitting .398 with 5 homers and 26 RBI's. His teammate, Logan Shore, was Pitcher of the Month, going 4-0 with a 2.73 ERA with 17 strikeouts in 29.2 innings. We looked to keep rolling with former teammates and "co-captains" Jordan Montgomery (1-2, 2.61 ERA, 0.92 WHIP) and A.J. Puckett (1-2, 5.17 ERA, 1.72 WHIP) squared off. We got four quick runs and won 7-4. Jarred Kelenic left with back tightness, and will head to the DL for likely the minimum. Montgomery went 5 innings with 4 hits, a run, a walk, and 8 strikeouts. Luis Alcantra allowed a hit, 2 walks, and three runs without getting an out. Riley Ferrell, Ignacio Hinojos, and Danny Niewald got holds, while Ernesto Estrella got a 2 inning save. Thomas Dillard went 1-for-3 with 2 runs, 2 RBI's, a walk, and homer. Jhon Solarte hit a pinch hit solo homer in the 5th. Juan Ramirez went 1-for-3 with 2 runs, an RBI, walk, and double. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with an RBI. May 2nd, 2027: I recalled 1B Spencer Jones form AAA to replace Kelenic. We looked to finish off the four game sweep with Luis Ardon (2-0, 1.53 ERA, 1.13 WHIP) facing Jorge Flores (2-1, 2.93 ERA, 0.85 WHIP). The pitching was amazing on both sides, with both offenses recording just 3 hits. Luckily, we got the only run in the game, and we finished the sweep with a 1-0 dub. Ardon went the distance, tossing a 3-hit shutout with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts. Just think this dude was a waiver claim. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-2 with a walk and solo homer. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-3 with a double. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-3. Dodgers 1B Guillermo Tatis hit three homers in a 15-6 win over the Brewers. The Mets come to town for three. We'll see Noah Syndergaard (3-2, 2.97 ERA), Tyler Mahle (2-2, 10.67 ERA), and Brady Singer (1-2, 4.21 ERA). Last edited by ayaghmour2; 07-25-2018 at 11:35 PM. |

May 3rd-May 9th
May 3rd, 2027: Ben Davis was named American Confrence Player of the Week, hitting .600 with 3 homers and 10 RBI's. He's the reigning Batter of the Month.
Despite being half a game out of first, we shot up to 1st in the Power Rankings. At 18-7, only the 19-7 Phillies have a better record, as we've both won 6 in a row. The Mets came to town, and the reltaively regular ace-off between Jake Florence (2-1, 2.97 ERA, 1.09 WHIP) and Noah Syndergaard (3-2, 2.97 ERA, 1.02 WHIP) took place. Thor got the better of us in his first start this year, and no one in the lineup has hit over .250 against him. Not even like a 1-for-3 or 2-for-7... Our streak wouldn't reach 7, and they beat us 4-2 to kick off the series. Florence allowed 3 runs in 6.2 innings off 8 hits with a walk and 6 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers allowed a run off a hit with a strikeout in the 9th. Jake Taylor was 2-for-4 with a double and run scored. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-4 with a double. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with a run scored and double. Chris Reid was 1-for-3 with a walk. May 4th, 2027: We looked to even the series back up with Steve Paustian (1-2, 6.75 ERA, 1.34 WHIP) taking on Tyler Mahle (2-2, 10.67 ERA, 2.37 WHIP) who we absolutely demolished earlier in the year. We held off on the demolishing, and they beat us 5-3. If the stupid Mets sweep us... Paustian allowed 2 unearned runs in 6.1 innings with 5 hits, 2 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Yes, the game should still be oging on... Danny Niewald allowed a hit that later scored to the only batter he faced, and was charged with the loss. Ignacio Hinojos allowed a run in 0.2 innings with a hit and 2 strike outs. Tylor Megill allowed a solo homer with a strikeout in the 9th. Isaac Nunez was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-3 with a double, 2 runs, and 2 walks. Angels RF Pete Crow-Armstrong was 5-for-5 in a 4-1 win over the A's. May 5th, 2027: Arizona will be without LHP Mike Hines for the year with a torn labrum. He was 0-3 with a 8.53 ERA in his first year with the Diamondbacks. We desperatley needed to avoid the sweep with Devon Peterson (3-0, 4.71 ERA, 1.43 WHIP) taking on Brady Singer (1-2, 4.21 ERA, 1.36 WHIP). Thankfully, we played well, and took the finale 8-2 as the Mets had to keep the brooms stowed. Thomas Dillard left with an injury after being hit by a pitch... Peterson went 6 innings with 6 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Marc Bjork tossed 2 innings with 3 hits and 3 strikeouts. Jhon Solarte was 3-for-4 with 2 runs, a steal, and RBI. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-4 with 2 runs, 2 RBI's, a homer, and a steal. Mac Horvath was 2-for-3 with a run scored, RBI, walk, and steal. Daylen Lile was 2-for-5 with a two run homer. Juan Ramirez was 1for-5 with a run scored, 2 RBI's, and a double. We're off to Phialdelpha to face the Phillies, who we are now tied with for first place. We'll see Francisco Morales (1-0, 5.23 ERA), Jim Gilbert (2-2, 4.30 ERA), Josh Weske (3-1, 6.10 ERA), and Steve Fettig (3-1, 5.67 ERA) in a early battle for the East. The Amateur Draft pool is also published tomorrow! May 6th, 2027: The 2027 Draft Pool was released, and here's who OSA ranks the top 10 in terms of my scout and theirs: 1. RHP Mike Goodwin (2.5/5) 2. RHP Joel Murphy (0.5/4) 3. RHP Mike Humby (1.5/4.5): Selected by the Cubs in the 3rd Round in 2024 4. RHP Nate Moss (3/5): Selected 4th Overall by the Red Sox last year 5. RHP Goichi Ortega (2.5/4) 6. RHP Leith Kearley (3/4.5): Selected by the Indians in the 5th Round in 2024. 7. RHP J.D. Harcourt (2/4.5) 8. RHP Chris Porter (2.5/5): Selected by the Mets in the 3rd Round in 2024 9. RHP Mike Norman (1.5/5) 10. RHP Ron Leyba (3.5/5) Are there only rigthy pitchers in the pool? The answer? Kind of, and this pool looks pretty bad. The only 4+ guys according to my scout are relievers. SP Dave Culpepper (3.5) might be the only player I'd want to draft. Although SP Marlon Fregia (3.5) and C Juan Castaneda (3.5) aren't bad either. Ignored CF Tim Dunbar (3.5) signing bonus demands, and he'd be a target as well. Here's where by unsigned class of 2024 is now: 2nd Round: SP Mike Bookert (0.5/0.5) 6th Round: CF Omari Golatt (2/2.5) 9th Round: 2B Andy Gibson (2/2) 12th Round: SS Rodolfo Silva (0.5/0.5) 13th Round: CF Steve Senior (1.5/1.5): Selected by the Brewers in the 8th Round in 2025 18th Round: CF Jeff McMaster (0.5/0.5) 19th Round: CF Ben Robinson (1.5/1.5) 24th Round: SP Luis Alderte (Can't find him, must have made a typo) 28th Round: 2B Amari Grevious (0.5/0.5) 29th Round: SP Joe Zumwalt (0.5/0.5) 30th Round: CF Danny Treen (1/0.5) 34th Round: SP Luis Barecneas (Can't find him either...) 35th Round: CF Alfredo Garza (0.5/0.5) 38th Round: SP Sincere Sturrup (0.5/0.5) 39th Round: SP Teagan Squarebriggs (0.5/0.5): Selected by Cleveland in the 13th Round in 2025, released in 2027 then signed with Tampa. Back to baseball, Jordan Montgomery (2-2, 2.45 ERA, 0.94 WHIP) took on Farncisco Morales (1-0, 5.23 ERA, 1.45 WHIP) as we started the series at Citizens Bank Park. This was a must win, so being down 3-2 in the 9th wasn't a good start. Enter Mac Horvath, who cleared the bases against former Marlin farm hand Sergio Monreal, and we won the opener 5-3. Jordan Montgomery, however, left with injury after 2.1 innings with a hit, walk, and strikeout. He was also 1-for-1 with a double and run scored. Marc Bjork tossed 2.1 innings with 2 hits and 2 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrella got a hold, 1.1 innings with 2 hits, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Igancio Hinojos blew the save, 2 runs in 0.1 innings with 2 hits. Luis Alcantra then got the win, 1.2 innings with a hit, run, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers earned save #7, a walk and 2 strikeouts in the 9th. Mac Horvath was 2-for-5 with a double and 3 RBI's. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-5 with a double. Tyrese Ephron was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. Daylen Lile was 1-for-3 with a steal, run scored, RBI, and 2 walks. Braves starter Ty Madden tossed a 2-hitter and struck out 9 in a 4-0 win over the Nationals. May 7th, 2027: Dillard was diagnosed with an elbow contusion, and will be day-to-day for about 4 days. I think I'll play him today then bench him for three. We looked to take the second of four with Luis Ardon (3-0, 1.01 ERA, 0.94 WHIP) taking on Jim Gilbert (2-2, 4.30 ERA, 1.14 WHIP). Can you find a better #5 in the league? Too bad we couldn't score, and the Phillies evened the series with a 2-0 shutout. Ardon tossed 6 innings with 4 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Luis Alcantra tossed 1.1 innings with 2 hits, a walk, and 3 strikeouts. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-5 with a double. Juan Ramirez and Isaac Nunez were both 1-for-3 with walks. Rays two-way player Brendan McKay was 5-for-5 in a 10-8 win over the Rockies. May 8th, 2027: Jordan Montgomery was diagnosed with a torn labrum, and his headed to the DL for 5 months. Yay... I putchased the contract of Matt Hogan, optioned Spencer Jones, and recalled Cho-yeong Hyoun. We looked to retake the division lead with Jake Florence (2-2, 3.16 ERA, 1.14 WHIP) taking on Josh Weske (3-1, 6.10 ERA, 1.42 WHIP). After Jon Reid pinch hit and tripled and scored in the 9th, the Phillies walked off with former Marlin Ernesto Arambula hitting a walk off RBI single off Alpha Quivers and the Phils won 5-4 to retake the division lead. Florence went 6 innings with 6 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Matt Hogan actually came out of the pen, an inning with a hit, run, and 2 strikeouts as well as a hold. Riley Ferrell blew the save, allowing a solo homer to the only hitter he faced. Quivres was charged with 3 hits and a run in 0.2 innings. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-4 with 2 doubles, a run scored, a sac-fly, and 2 RBI's. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-4 with a sac-fly. Chris Reid was 2-for-5 with an RBI. Fllorence was 1-for-2 with a sac bunt and run scored. May 9th, 2027: We looked to walk away with a Steve battle: Paustian (1-2, 5.50 ERA, 1.46 WHIP) versus Fettig (3-1, 5.67 ERA, 1.63 WHIP). We tried to lose really hard, allowing a three run homer to Mason Winn in the 9th, but we escaped with a 5-3 win. Paustian had an interesting outing, 5.1 innings with 4 hits, 6 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Tylor Megill got a hold, 1.2 innings with a strikeout. Marc Bjrok tossed 1+ innings with a hit, run, walk, and 2 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrella allowed the homer, with 2 runs (1 earned) and a stirkeout. Quivers got the save, getting a strike out and fly out to end the game. Jhon Solarte was 2-for-3 with a solo homer. Tyrese Ephron replaced him and went 1-for-2 with a solo homer. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a walk, 2 runs, a triple, and a steal. Daylen Lile and Chris Reid were both 2-for-5 with an RBI. Jake Taylor was 1-for-4 with a run scored. Mac Horvath was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Our road trip continues with three in San Diego before an off day. We'll see Charles King (1-4, 6.10 ERA), Chris Rodriguez (3-1, 3.72 ERA), and Dallas Woolfolk (1-3, 3.89 ERA). |

May 10th-May 16th
May 10th, 2027: Down in AAA, RF Palban Gamboa was named Player of the Week. He hit .400 with 6 homers and 13 RBI's.
At 21-11, we're still tied in first, but dropped to second in the Power Rankings. We opened the series at Petco Park with Devon Peterson (4-0, 4.41 ERA, 1.41 WHIP) taking on Charles King (1-4, 6.10 ERA, 1.77 WHIP). We didn't score until the 9th, and lost the opener 3-1. To be fair, most of the lineup was non-starters. Peterson allowed a run in 5 innings with 3 hits, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Riley Ferrell got just 1 out, and allowed a walk and two run homer. Eric Kisela was 1-for-3 with a triple and a walk. Tyrese Ephron was 1-for-3 with a double, RBI, and walk. Jon Reid hit a pinch-hit double in the 9th and scored our only run. Peterson the pitcher was 1-for-1. May 11th, 2027: We looked to even the series back up with Igancio Hinojos (1-0, 4.40 ERA, 1.40 WHIP) returning to the rotation against Chris Rodriguez (3-1, 3.72 ERA, 1.13 WHIP). We scored, but didn't do any pitching, and were edhed 7-6 and we're now a game away from getting swept. Hinojos pitched fine, 6 innings with 6 hits, 3 runs, and 10 strikeouts. Marc Bjork got the loss, a run and strikeout. Danny Niewald walked the only batter he faced, who later scored. Cho-yeong Hyoun allowed a hit and run in 0.2 innings. Riley Ferrell allowed a hit and run in the 8th. Mac Horvath was a perfect 3-for-3 with 2 runs, 2 RBI's, a homer, and a walk. Chris Reid was 1-for-3 with a solo homer, 2 runs, and 2 walks. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a walk, double, and RBI. Daylen Lile was 1-for-4 with a walk, run scored, and steal. Deshawn Hardamon came off the bench and was 1-for-2 with an RBI. Indians 1B Anthony Rizzo collected his 2,000th career hit. The Veteran lefty is a career .255/.360/.473 hitter with 395 homers and 1,216 RBI's in 2,233 career games, mostly with the Cubs. May 12th, 2027: I DFA'd LF Tyrese Ephron and activated RF Jarred Kelenic from the DL. We looked to avoid the sweep with Luis Ardon (3-1, 1.38 ERA, 0.95 WHIP) facing Dalls Woolfolk (1-3, 3.89 ERA, 1.38 WHIP) as our tired team plays out last game before a much needed off day. Tied at five in the 9th, Rule-5 Pick Eric Kisela (I feel like I'm a legend at Rule-5 picks) hit a pinch-hit, go-ahead solo homer off Fitz Stadler as we salvaged the finale 6-5. Ardon tossed 6 innings with 11 hits, 5 runs, 3 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrella got the win, 1.1 innings with 2 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers notched the save, striking out one in a perfect 9th. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-5 with a run scored and RBI. Daylen Lile was 1-for-4 with a two run homer, a walk, 2 runs, and a steal. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a walk and two run homer. Ardon the pitcher was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Phillies SP Jim Gilbet tossed a 5-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts in a 4-0 win over the Giants. Thankfully, tomorrow is an off day! May 13th, 2027: Former Marlin Josh Watson is out for the year with a torn flexor tendon. He's closing for the Cubs, and has a 2.77 ERA with 7 saves in 14 relief appearences. We're off to LA, where we'll face the Dodgers for three. The projected starters are Nate Ransom (4-0, 4.42 ERA), Robinson Ortiz (2-2, 6.16 ERA), and Lusi Severino (1-4, 7.46 ERA) before another day off. May 14th, 2027: We open the series against the Dodgers with Jake Florence (2-2, 3.14 ERA, 1.16 WHIP) taking on Nate Ransom (4-0, 4.42 ERA, 1.28 WHIP). The pitching was beautiful, and we shut them out 2-0 to start the series strong. Florence went 5 innings with 5 hits, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Tylor Megill, Danny Niewald, and Riley Ferrell got holds while Alpha Quivers got the save. He struck out the side and walked 1 hitter in the 9th. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a run scored. Mac Horvath and Thomas Dillard were both 1-for-4. Florence was 1-for-1 with a sac-bunt. May 15th, 2027: I outrighted LF Tyrese Ephron to AAA. We looked to win the series a day early before Steve Paustian (2-2, 4.76 ERA, 1.51 WHIP) taking on Robinson Ortiz (2-2, 6.16 ERA, 1.40 WHIP). Down 6-5, Matt Hogan hit a pinch-hit solo homer in the 9th to tie it and force extras. In the 11th, Johanser Pontier hit a walk-off single off Marc Bjork, and the Dodgers evened the series with a 7-6 win. Paustian piched 7 innings, allowing 7 hits, 4 runs, 2 walks, and he struck out 7. Danny Niewald allowed a hit and run in 0.2 innings. Riley Ferrell allowed a hit and run in 0.1 innings. Bjork got the loss, 2 walks, a hit, and run in 0.2 innings. Jarred Kelenic was 2-for-4 with a steal and an RBI sac-fly. Chris Reid was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-4 with a walk, hit by pitch, triple, and 3 runs scored. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-5 with an RBI double. May 16th, 2027: We looked to win the rubber match with Devon Peterson (4-1, 4.08 ERA, 1.36 WHIP) taking on Kevin Jalbert (3-2, 1.90 ERA, 0.87 WHIP). We eneded the series strong with a 9-4 victory. Peterson went 6.1 innings with 5 hits, 4 runs, 3 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Luis Alcantra got a hold, and Marc Bjork a 2 inning save. Bjork struck out 3 and allowed 2 hits. Thomas Dillard had a monster game, 4-for-4 with 2 homers, 5 RBI's, and a walk. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-2 with 3 runs, 3 walks, a triple, and a steal. Mac Horvath was 2-for-3 with a run scored, walk, sac-fly, and 2 RBI's. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-4 with 3 runs, a walk, and a steal. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with an RBI. |

May 17th-May 23rd
May 17th, 2027: Down in Greensboro, 3B Juan Sagarra was named Player of the Week. He hit .524 with 9 RBI's.
Rays superstar Jacob Faria signed a 4-year, $93.6 million extension. The lontime Tampa Ace is 105-71 with a 3.52 ERA and 1.15 WHIP. The 2-time Cy Young winner and 5-Time All-Star has lead the league in strikeouts 5 ties, WHIP twice, K/9 5 times, starts three times, wins once, and pWAR twice. We dropped farther down to 4th in the Power Rankings, and we sit at 24-14, trailing the Phillies by 2.5 games. We headed home to face the Reds for three. We'll see Alan Taylor (2-1, 2.41 ERA), Mike Kuhns (3-1, 3.41 ERA), and Esteban Aguirre (3-1, 3.30 ERA). May 18th, 2027: We opened the series hosting the Reds in a sold out Marlins Park with former Red Ignacio Hinojos (1-0, 4.43 ERA, 1.28 WHIP) facing Alan Taylor (2-1, 2.41 ERA, 1.07 WHIP). It was a tight one, but we managed to edged them 7-6 to take the opener after Alpha Quivers got his former teammate Mickey Moniak to ground into a double play to end the game. Hinojos pitched really well, 5 innings with a hit, run, 3 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrella didn't, 4 runs off 3 hits and a walk in 0.2 innings. Cho-yeong Hyoun got the win, 1.1 innings with a hit and 2 strikeouts. Danny Niewald allowed a hit that later scored to the only batter he faced. Riley Fererll for the hold and Alpha Quivers the save. Dayle Lile was a perfect 3-for-3 with 2 runs, a walk, RBI, double, and steal. Jarred Kelenic was 3-for-4 with a homer and 3 RBI's. Mac Horvath was 2-for-4 with a steal. Deshawn Hardamon was a perfect 2-for-2 with a double, 3 runs, and a walk. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-3 with a double, sac-fly, and 3 RBI's. Rockies RF Art Bryant extended his hit strak to 20 games. The former Marlin minor leaguer is hitting .426 with 5 homers and 30 RBI's this year. May 19th, 2027: Arizona lefty Nick Bennett is out for the year with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. The rookie is 1-1 in 2 starts with a 5.25 ERA and 1.00 WHIP. We looked to keep winning with Jake Florence (3-2, 2.81 ERA, 1.19 WHIP) taking on Mike Kuhns (3-1, 3.41 ERA, 1.01 WHIP). We just really didn't play well, and were topped 6-2, despite outhitting them 10-7. Florence went 4.1 innings with 4 hits, 4 runs, 4 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Tylor Megill tossed 2.2 innings with 3 hits, 2 runs, and 3 strikeouts. Juan Ramirez was 3-for-5 with a double and RBI. Eric Kisela had a pinch hit solo homer in the 9th. Matt Hogan had a pinch hit single in the 7th and scored later. Jarred Kelenic was 2-for-5. Daylen Lile was 1-for-3 with 2 walks. And just like that Bryant's hit streak is ended at 20. May 20th, 2027: We looked to win the finale with Luis Ardon (3-1, 2.33 ERA, 1.16 WHIP) facing Esteban Aguirre (3-1, 3.30 ERA, 1.05 WHIP). It was a close one, but they edged us 5-4 to take the series. Ardon allowed 4 runs and 7 hits in 3.2 innings with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. Tylor Megull allowed a run in 1.1 innings with 2 hits and a walk. Chris Reid was 1-for-3 with a walk and two run homer. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a doule and run scored. Mac Horvath was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a steal and run scored. Arizona comes to town next, and they are just 18-23 this year. I needed revenge against them really bad, and they'd send Zach Linginfelter (1-3, 5.02 ERA), Stephen Ridings (2-0, 9.82 ERA), and Jean-Christophe Hernandez (5-1, 2.36 ERA) to the mound. May 21st, 2027: We opened the series against Arizona with Steve Paustian (2-2, 4.82 ERA, 1.48 WHIP) facing Zach Linginfelter (1-3, 5.02 ERA, 1.40 WHIP). Paustian was great, and we topped them 3-1 to start the series. Paustian went 8, allowing 5 hits, 4 walks, and a run while striking out 4. He also hit 2-for-3. Alpha Quivers allowed a hit, but struck out the side in the 9th to earn the save. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-3 with a walk, 2 doubles, and a run scored. Jarred Kelenic was 2-for-4 with a doule and two run homer. Eric Kisela was 1-for-3 with a double and RBI. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with a double. May 22nd, 2027: We looked to take the middle game as well with Devon Peterson (5-1, 4.30 ERA, 1.35 WHIP) facing Jean-Christophe Hernandez (5-1, 2.36 ERA, 1.16 WHIP) who is having a really good season. He was brilliant today, and they shut us out 4-0... Peterson went 6 with 7 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Danny Niewald was charged with 2 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and a strikeout in 0.2 innings. Chris Reid was 2-for-4 with a double. Mac Horvath was 1-for-3 with a walk. Jake Taylor and Deshawn Hardamon were both 1-for-3. May 23rd, 2027: We needed to win the series with Ignacio Hinojos (1-0, 3.91 ERA, 1.18 WHIP) facing Steven Gingery (4-5, 5.19 ERA, 1.43 WHIP). Down 5-4 in the 9th, THomas Dillard hit a walk-off two rum double with Josh Brown pitching and we won the finale 6-5! Hinojos went 5.1 innings with 5 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Matt Hogan tossed 1.2 innings with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. Riley Ferrell hit the only batter he faced, and he later scored. Danny Niewald walked the only batter he faced, who also scored. Alpha Quivers got the win, striking out 2 in the 9th. Mac Horvath was a perfect 4-for-4 with 2 runs, a walk, and RBI. Daylen Lile was 3-for-5 with a run scored. Dillard was 1-for-4 with a walk and the walk off double. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Jarred Kelenic was 2-for-5 with a double, 2 runs, and an RBU. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-5 with a double and run scored. The first place Phillies come to town for three before an off day. We'll face Jim Gilbert (4-2, 3.20 ERA), Josh Weske (4-1, 5.14 ERA), and Steve Fettig (4-2, 5.48 ERA) as we look to make up ground in the division race. |

May 24th-May 30th
May 24th, 2027: To make things fit better with the scheudle, I moved the Amateur Draft to June 6th.
At 27-17, we remained 4th in the Power Rannkings. We hosted the Phillies for a three game set with Jake Florence (3-3, 3.27 ERA, 1.24 WHIP) taking on Jim Gilbert (4-2, 3.20 ERA, 1.03 WHIP). Tied at one in the 9th, Jhon Solarte was walked by Sergio Monreal in the 9th and we won 2-1. Florence went 6 innings with 2 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 7 strikeouts. The pen went 3 innings with a hit, walk, and 5 strikeotus. Alpha Quivers got the win, an inning with a strikeout. We only had 3 hits, but we walked 7 times. Jarred Kelenic went 2-for-4 with a double. Mac Horvath was 1-for-2 with a run scored, a steal, and 2 walks. Jacksonville 3B Juan Romo hit for the cycle in a 12-11 win over the Jackson Generals. Giants 2B Nick Allen was 5-for-6 in a 7-5 loss to the Nationals. May 25th, 2027: Giants righty Pat Light will be out for the year with radial nerve compression. He tossed 22 innings with a 4.09 ERA and he struck out 24. Luis Ardon (3-1, 2.98 ERA, 1.28 WHIP) looked to bounce back against former Marlin 1st Rounder Josh Weske (4-1, 5.14 ERA, 1.27 WHIP) who's had a rough stretch as well. Most of the scoring was late, and the Phillies evened the series with a 6-2 win. Ardon pitched well, 6 innings with 4 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 8 strikeouts. Marc Bjork blew the save, an inning with 3 hits, a run, and a walk. Tylor Megill got the loss 2 hits and 2 runs with a strikeout. Cho-yeong Hyoun allowed 2 runs and 4 hits with 1 walk in an inning. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-3 with a double. Daylen Lile was 1-for-3 with 2 walks, a steal, and a run scored. Mac Horvath was 2-for-3 with a sac-fly. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a steal and RBI. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a run scored. New Orleans C Jackson Miller went 2-for-4 to extend his hit streak to 20. The young catcher looks posied to force his way into the lineup, hitting .350/.428/.443 in 140 at bats. May 26th, 2027: We looked to win the series with Steve Paustian (3-2, 4.28 ERA, 1.43 WHIP) taking on Steve Fettig (4-2, 5.48 ERA, 1.59 WHIP). We struggled to do just about everything, and lost the finale 7-2... Paustian went 5.2 innings with 6 hits, 4 runs (3 earned), 4 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Marc Bjork allowed 2 runs and 2 hits in an inning while getting 1 strikeout. Tylor Megill went an inning with 4 hits, a run, and 2 strikeouts. Eric Kisela was 1-for-3 with a walk and two run homer. It was the only hit all game... Luckily, we get tomorrow off, and that is when All-Star voting opens. May 27th, 2027: We're off to Chicago for three with the White Sox. We'll see Jackson Gillis (2-5, 3.95 ERA), Santiago Elizondo (2-4, 4.82 ERA), and Jake Baker (4-2, 3.59 ERA). May 28th, 2027: We opened the series at Guaranteed Rate Field with Devon Peterson (5-2, 4.15 ERA, 1.37 WHIP) facing Jackson Gillis (2-5, 3.95 ERA, 1.34 WHIP). We got to use the DH today since it was an American League game. We got four in the first, but so did they. After 8 full, we were down 11-10, but Juan Ramirez got a game tieing RBI single. In the 10th, both teams managed to score 10 in this pitchers duel. Now 13-13, we decided we wouldn't let them back into the game again, scoring a touchdown and two point conversion to win the opener 21-13. Yes, we won 21-13 in 11 innings. Wow! That wwas a crazy one! Peterson wishes it didn't happen, 2.2 innings with 7 hits, 8 run, 4 walks, and 3 strikeotus. Hyoun allowed a hit and run in 2.1 innings with a walk and 2 strikeouts. Jarred Kelenic allowed 2 htis, 2 runs, and 2 walks while getting a strikeout. Alpha Quivers went 2 innings, the 9th and 10th, allowing 3 hits 2 runs (1 earned, so it shouldn't have gotten to the 11th...) a walk, and 3 strike outs. There was a lot of offense, as Ramirez was the only hitter who didn't have more then one hit! Even Eric Kisela, who came off the bench, was 2-for-2 with 2 doubles, 2 runs, and an RBI. Thomas Dillard was 3-for-6 with 2 runs, 5 RBI's, a walk, and a homer. Isaac Nunez was 3-for-5 with 2 runs, 3 RBI's, a walk, steal, and sac-fly. Jon Reid was 3-for-6 with 3 runs scored. Daylen Lile was 2-for-5 with 2 walks, 4 runs, a double, and a steal. Mac Horvath was 2-for-4 with 3 runs, 3 RBI's, 3 walks, a steal, and a double. Jhon Solarte was 2-for-6 with a solo homer and grand slam. Chris Reid was 2-for-5 with 2 runs, 2 RBI's, 2 walks, and a home run. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-5 with an RBI. May 29th, 2027: We looked to try to not allow a ton of runs in game two, with Ignacio Hinojos (1-0, 4.11 ERA, 1.21 WHIP) taking on Santiago Elizondo (2-4, 4.82 ERA, 1.35 WHIP). It was another extra inning game, but Jarred Kelenic managed a solo homer in the 10th, so we could finish the game 6-5 after 10 innings. Hinojos went 3.2 innings with 4 hits, 5 runs (2 earned...), and 5 strikeouts. The pen tossed 6.1 hitless innings with just 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrella got the win and Alpha Quivers got the save. Juan Ramirez went 3-for-5 with a steal, double, and 2 RBI's. Kelenic was 1-for-4 with the solo homer, a steal, and sac-fly. Daylen Lile was 2-for-4 with a walk, steal, and three runs scored. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-5 with a run scored. Mac Horvath was 2-for-4 with a run scored and walk. Miller's hit streak was snapped at 21. May 30th, 2027: First fan vote update: Dillard is 2nd for catchers. Kelenic is 2nd for right field. Quivers is third for closers. The finale saw Jake Florence (3-3, 3.09 ERA, 1.18 WHIP) face Jake Baker (4-2, 3.59 ERA, 1.27 WHIP) and the team that took Florence #1 overall back in 2020. We scored 6 in the 6th and we won the finale 7-5. Florence went 5.1 innings with 6 hits, 5 runs, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Marc Bjork and Luis Alcantra got holds and Riley Ferrell earned a 2 inning save. Matt Hogan was 3-for-4 with a double and grand slam. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-3 with 2 runs, a solo homer, and a walk. Mac Horvath was 1-for-2 with a run scored, RI, and 2 walks. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-3 with a walk. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a run scored and RBI. Freddie Freeman got his 2,500th career hit. The 37-year-old is having a rough season, hitting .186/.314/.379 with 8 homers and 24 RBI's, a far cry from his .285/.382/.516 career slash. In total, he's hit 463 homers with 1,456 RBI's. We're on to Tampa for an away and home series. In Tampa, we'll see the recently extended Jacob Faria (4-3, 3.29 ERA) and recently acquired Mitchell White (2-5, 2.14 ERA). |

May 31st-June 6th
May 31st, 2027: Orioles righty Tyrese Sinkfield is out for the year with a torn labrum. The former 2nd overall pick in 2021 is likely a starter, but htye were using him as a closer, where he tallied 12 saves and 34 strikeouts in 26 innings with a 3.12 ERA.
We dropped a spot to 5th in the Power Rakings, and are currently 31-19 and 3 games out of first. We opened the first of two in Tampa with Luis Ardon (3-1, 2.79 ERA, 1.24 WHIP) facing Jacob Faria (4-3, 3.29 ERA, 1.12 WHIP). Ardon pitched great, and we topped the struggling defending champions 4-1. Ardon tossed 8 innings with just 4 hits, a run, and a walk to go with 3 strikeotus. Alpha Quivers pitched the 9th, earning the save with a hit and strikeout. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-3 with a solo homer, walk, and 2 RBI's. Daylen Lile was 1-for-3 with a walk, 2 runs, and 2 steals. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a double, steal, and RBI. Chris Reid was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. Phillies CF Ernesto Arambula increased his hit streak to 20 games. June 1st, 2027: Down in AAA, RF Palban Gamboa was named Batter of the Month. He hit .358 with 9 homers and 30 RBI's. In Greensboro, 3B Juan Sagarra was named South Atlantic Batter of the Month. He hit .330 with a homer and 19 RBI's. His teammate RHP Jamie Casaday was Pitcher of the Month, going 5-1 with a 2.04 ERA in 35.1 innings with 41 strikeouts. Arizona extended LHP Jared Miller 2-years at $4,640,000 per year. He's spent his whole career in Arizona, and didn't want to hit the open market. This year, he's allowed just 1 run in 22.2 innings (0.40) with a 0.53 WHIP and 32 strikeouts to just 6 walks. We looked to finish the Tampa portion of the Florida series with Steve Paustian (3-3, 4.33 ERA, 1.46 WHIP) facing former Marlin minor leaguer Mitchell White (2-5, 2.14 ERA, 0.89 WHIP). Paustian was brilliant, and we shut them out 8-0. Isaac Nunez left with a bruised shin after getting hit by a pitch. He'll miss about 4 days, but will be able to play through it. He was 1-for-2 with a run scored, steal, and the hut by pitch. Paustian allowed just 1 hit in 7 innings with 4 walks and 6 strikeouts. Riley Ferrell tossed 2 perfect innings with 2 strikeouts. Chris Reird was 4-for-5 with a double and 3 RBI's. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-4 with a run scored, RBI, and steal. Daylen Lile was 2-for-4 with 2 runs, a walk, and solo homer. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-5 with 2 runs scored. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-4 with 2 runs, a walk, and RBI. Arambula's hit streak was ended at 20. We're headed south to Miami, and we'll see Nehemiah Adeniran (former Marlin 1st Rounder Ken Adeniran's brother) make his season debut and Brendan McKay (2-2, 2.51 ERA). June 2nd, 2027: Back at home, Devon Peterson (5-2, 5.27 ERA, 1.50 WHIP) took on Nehemiah Adeniran. The Rays offense was too much, and they beat us 9-5. Peterson went 5.2 innings with 10 hits, 7 runs (4 earned), a walk, and 2 strikeouts. Matt Hogan allowed 2 runs in 0.2 innings off a hit, walk, and strikeout. Chris Reid went 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI's. Jon Reid was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI's. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a run scored and double. Daylen Lile was 1-for-5 with a double and run scored. Peterson was 1-for-2. Reds 1B Jamie Zerger launched three homers in a 9-4 win over the Indians. Astros SS Tyler Freeman was 5-for-6 in a 16-1 win over the Rockies. June 3rd, 2027: We looked to split the home part and win the Florida series with Igancio Hinojos (1-0, 4.19 ERA, 1.19 WHIP) taking on Brendan McKay (2-2, 2.51 ERA, 1.17 WHIP). Tied at 1 after 9 innings, Chris Reid hit a walkoff two-run homer off Keegan Akin, and we won the finale 3-1. Two thirds of my outfield left with day-to-day injuries. Daylen Lile sprained his ankle and Jarred Kelenic had back tightness. Both can play through it. Hinojos tossed 6 innings with 5 hits, a run, 3 walks, and 9 strikeouts. The rest of the pen combined for 5 innings with 4 hits, a walk, and 2 strikeouts. Reid was 2-for-3 with 2 runs, 2 walks, 2 RBI's, the homer, and a double. Mac Horvath was 2-for-5 with a double. Kelenic was 2-for-5 with a steal. Nunez was 2-for-5. Dodgers SP Luis Severino tossed a 1-hit shutout in a 7-0 win over the Angels. We'll stay home with the Mets coming to town for three. We'll see Livio Montella (2-4, 4.03 ERA), Eric Walker (3-2, 4.75 ERA), and Chandler Ferguson (0-0, 2.95 ERA). June 4th, 2027: We opened the Mets series with Jake Florence (4-3, 3.53 ERA, 1.21 WHIP) taking on Livio Montella (2-4, 4.03 ERA, 1.16 WHIP). The pitching was great, and we won the opener 4-1. Florence went 8 innings with 5 hits, a run, 3 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers got the save, an inning with 2 hits. Matt Hogan was 2-for-3 with an RBI and walk. Chris Reid was 1-for-3 with a two run homer. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a double and RBI. Jon Reid was 1-for-3 with a hit by pitch and run scored. Mac Horvath was 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored. Jake Taylor was 1-for-3 with a walk. June 5th, 2027: The middle game saw Luis Ardon (4-1, 2.56 ERA, 1.15 WHIP) take on Eric Walker (3-2, 4.75 ERA, 1.44 WHIP). It wasn't the pitching of yesterday's game, and the Mets evened the series with a 7-5 win. Cho-yeong Hyoun and Tylor Megill both left with day-to-day injuries. I'll place Megill on the DL with a sprained ankle, and will likely send him on a long rehab assignment after. Ardon allowed 4 runs in 3 innings with 4 hits, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Megill was charged with 2 runs off 2 hits and a walk while getting just 1 out. Jarred Kelenic tossed 2 innings with 3 hits, a run, walk, and 2 strikeouts. Kelenic hit for himself, and launched a solo homer in the 5th. Eric Kisela was 1-for-3 with a three run homer and a walk. Jon Reid was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. Mac Horvath was 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored. Daylen Lile was 2-for-5 with an RBI double. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a double. June 6th, 2027: I recalled Joseph Jarneski from AAA to replace Megill. Fan vote update: Dillard 2nd. Kelenic 2nd. Quivers 3rd. The Yankees will be without C Shea Langeliers for the rest of the year. One of the better catchers in the game, he was hitting .273 with a homer and 13 RBI's. The Astros acquired LHP Joe nelsen and RHP Takeji Nakao from the White Sox for RHP Chris Brimmer. it's an even enough deal. We looked to win the rubber match with Steve Paustian (4-3, 3.88 ERA, 1.38 WHIP) taking on Chandler Ferguson (0-0, 2.95 ERA, 1.59 WHIP) who's making just his 3rd start (he's made 14 relief appearences). It was an all-around good performance, and we won the finale 5-2. Paustian went 7 innings with 3 htis, a run, a walk, and 3 strikeouts. Riley Ferrell and Danny Niewald got holds before Alpha Quivers picked up the save. Ferrell allowed a run and 3 hits in a third of an inning. Juan Ramirez was 3-for-4 with 2 doubles and an RBI. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-3 with a homer, sac-fly, and 4 RBI's. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-3 with a walk, steal, and 2 runs scored. Paustian was 1-for-2 with a sac-bunt, run scored, and triple. Mac Horvath was 1-for-3 with a walk. Matt Hogan was 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored. We're off to Philly for a three game set with the first place Phillies. We'll see Francisco Morales (3-2, 4.26 ERA), Bobby Stiles (3-5, 7.33 ERA), and Jim Gilbert (5-3, 3.06 ERA). But, first! The 2027 Amateur Draft! |

Amateur Draft
Happy draft day! Today, I'm looking to select the next wave of young talent in the Marlins organization. The pool isn't the best, but I'll make due with what I have!
It started with the Cardinals, who selected CF Tim Dunbar #1 Overall. He's one of the better hitters according to my scout, and a 5* according to OSA. 1st Round, 29th Overall: Geoff Jalpa (3): He's a monster, with 83 contact potential and 93 gap power, but he said he won't sign. The worst part is, there are absolutely no good players available. He wants over $5 million, and I have just a bit more then #3 milllion to spend. He's a great hitter with a cannon, and I think after three years of college he'll be a great player, just not in my system. 1st Round, 38th Overall: SP Eric Richer (2.5): He's nothing more then a number 4 starter, but he's definitely promising. He's got 100 stamina, a plus fastball and sinker, plus stuff, and plus movement. He throws 91-93 from a 3/4 armslot. The southpaw from Philly isn't the best pitcher in the world, but compared to the rest of the draft class, he's a superstar. 2nd Round, 70th Overall: CF Andy White (3): He's versatile, can play five position, and has great speed. He's got the range for center, and can be a top defender there as well. Not Jhon Solarte level, but Daylen Lile level. He's got plus power and decent contact, and can develop into a solid hitter. 3rd Round, 100th Overall: C Jim Davis (3): He's a decent defender, but relies too much on his natural talent. He's got an elite eye, plus power, and decent contact abilities. Despite his great eye, he will strike out a little, but Davis still is an interesting prospect. 4th Round, 130th Overall: SP J.J. Lucas (2.5): He's a borderline starter, but I think he can develop his 44 rated change up enough to start. He's got 88 stamina, a plus-plus fastball and curve, and he can reach 96 with the fastball. His control needs some work, but the Florida native is an intriguing prospect. 5th Round, 160th Overall: CL Mike Reece (3): A closer from Cal-State Fullerton, Reece can toss a ton of innings out of the pen, and tossed two plus-plus pitches. His fastball isn't overpowering, but his curveball has nice break and great control. He's not too exciting, but neither is much of what is available. 6th Round, 190th Overall: 2B Kael Tillery (2.5): He's a verstaile player and a decent devensive infielder who turns the double play really well. He's got decent speed and is a great bunter. He's got a plus eye and plus gap power, and will be a solid offensive player. 7th Round, 220th Overall: RP Mike Butler (3): Another college pen arm, Butler can also toss multiple innings out of the pen. He's got a really nice cutter that averages 96-98 mph, and an average slider that will get it's share of whiffs. He's a durable pen guy who can bridge the gap from a starter who exits early to the back of the pen. 8th Round, 250th Overall: 3B Zach Kofard (2.5): Won't sign. All bat no glove, he likely ends up at first, although he does have a plus arm. He'll hit a ton of homers and extra base hits, and won't strike out too much either. He should do well in college and move up the draft boards. 9th Round, 280th Overall: CF Aydan Hattie (2.5): The Canadian high schooler will likely end up in right, but he could be a decent center fielder. He's got a cannon and will hit a bunch of home runs. He's got a great eye and won't strike out too much either, but he's very slow. 10th Round, 310th Overall: SP Mitch Sadler (2): He's got a ton of stamina, but likely tops out as a long man out of the pen. He's got a great fastball that can hit triple digits and an interesting forkball, but he doesn't excite too much. He's got average movement and control, but I like the young lefty from Dallas. 11th Round, 340th Overall: CF Joe Housand (2.5): Won't sign. He's got great speed and can stick in center, although left is likely his final destination. He's got a great eye, but won't get a ton of hits. He's got nice power as well. 12th Round, 370th Overall: CL Ted Woodley (2): He's got elite stuff, but absolutely no movement. He throws a straight fastball and a change that just doesn't really move much. He can hit 100, but prefers the 96-98 range. 13th Round, 400th Overall: CF Chris Feinerman (2): Already running out of talent, he's a decent and versatile player. He's got great speed, great range, and a cannon, but isn't much of a hitter. He does draw a lot of walks, but he'll realrey put it in play. 14th Round, 430th Overall: RP Josh Siegel (2): He can eat innings out of the pen and glance triple digits. He throws a plus-plus fastball and slider, but doesn't get that much movement with the slide. He just wins by overpowering hitters. 15th Round, 460th Overall: 3B Jamari Maith (1.5): Won't sign. He's got an elite eye, makes good contact, and can stick at the hot corner. College will help him refine his skills. 16th Round, 490th Overall: SP Gael Levann (1.5): He's got great stamina, but likely ends up in the pen. He's got a plus-plus curve, a plus slider, and an average change and fastball. He doesn't throw very hard, but has really good control. 17th Round, 520th Overall: SP Billy Kane (1.5): Another innings eater, Kane boast a plus-plus change up, plus cruve, and average cutter. He also has great control, and is clutch under pressure. 18th Round, 550th Overall: SP Juan Garza (1.5): The last starter worth taking, Garza features a plus change and curve with an average forkball and very hittable fastball. The Puerto Rican lefty tossed 90-92 conistently, but isn't the most intersting guy there is. 19th Round, 580th Overall: C Jeff Kisling (1.5): Won't sign. He's great at framing pitches and has a plus eye, but he has a weak arm. He doesn't hit much either, but has a little pop. 20th Round, 610th Overall: CF Danny Treen (2): I selected the speedy Treen in the 30th Round back in 2024, and took him again 10 rounds earlier. He's an average all around htiter who can develop into a decent outfielder. 21st Round, 640th Overall: CF Nate Waldon (3): Don't let the star rating fool you, he really isn't that good. He's fast and has good range, but will never be the best defender. He's got a great eye and good power, but the dreaded 9 contact. 22nd Round, 670th Overall: CF Kevin Penney (2): He can play all over the diamond, but doesn't really have the arm for third base. He's got great speed, but is a terrible base runner. He also doens't hit much, but has enough power to keep the defense back. He's a native of Crestview, Florida. 23rd Round, 700th Overall: SP A.J. Dailey (0.5): Won't sign. He's not too exciting, but I wanted to burn a pick. Decent stamina and a decent set of pitches. 24th Round, 730th Overall: SS Juan Tapanes (1.5): He's going to develop into a gold glove shortstop, but that will start in college not the minors. He's also got plus power. 25th Round, 760th Overall: CF Kevin Burton (2.5): Why not risk it on a lefty who has 22 gap power potential? He's a decent defender with average speed and an elite eye. He supposedly will have plus contact and power as well, and hits left handed. 26th Round, 790th Overall: 3B Lupe Morales (1.5): Won't sign. He's got plus power, a plus-plus arm, and a plus eye. The Jacksonville native should do well in college. 27th Round, 820th Overall: SS Eric Grone (2): Groan... He's an all glove no bat speedy shortstop. He's got an elite eye, but I don't think he'll ever hit the ball past the pitcher... 28th Round, 850th Overall: CF Josh Fonseca (0.5): I wanted to draft him as a pitcher, but he won't sign... He has intriguing stuff and could turn into a solid reliever. 29th Round, 880th Overall: C Mitch Gordon (0.5): I drafted him as a pitcher. He was selected in the 29th Round in 2024 by the Royals, but 858th instead of 880th. He's not too special, but has decent stamina and a decent curve. 30th Round, 910th Overall: SP Kasey Field (0.5): He's got great stamina, a great curveball, and decent control and can surprise the pundits. At just 17, he has a lot of room to grow, and could become somewhat alright. 31st Round, 940th Overall: RF Ezra Butcher (1.5): A Florida native, Butcher isn't much of a fielder, but has a great eye at the plate. He's got decent pop, but pulls the ball a lot to right field. 32nd Round, 970th Overall: SS Chris Strowd (1.5): A raw youngster, Strowd can develop into a solid defensive shortstop or third basemen. He's got plus eye and a decent contact tool, with decent base running abilities. 33rd Round, 1,000th Overall: 2B Trey Schroer (1.5): I love when I pick 1,000th! An offensive stud, Schroer is absolutley useless as a defender. He could hit 30 homers a year, however, and will make consistent enough contact. 34th Round, 1,030th Overall: SP Jorge de los Santos (0.5): Won't sign, and will liekly come stateside to play college ball. He doesn't have starter stamina, but he features a decent arsenal, including a plus circle change. 35th Round, 1,060th Overall: SS Ben Geigle (1.5): An elite defender, he can turn the double play better then everyone else, and has a really strong arm. Where he lacks in range, he makes up in foot speed. He's not the best hitter, but he's not an automatic out. And he's from Florida! 36th Round, 1,090th Overall: 2B Daniel Coulombe Jr. (0.5): His father played pro ball, so that's enough to get him selected. He's not too good, but everyone loves watching him compete, and he has baseall in his blood. 37th Round, 1,120th Overall: SP Mike Burrows (0.5): Selected by the White SOx in 2024 in the 26th Round, he dropped a bit after not inspriing in college. He does boast five average to plus pitches and throws 92-94 with his fastball, but doesn't have control or movement. 38th Round, 1,150th Overall: SP Jamie Small (0.5): He's got pinpoint control, a nice curveball, and an alright change, but barley has the stamina to start. He also throws like a slow pitch softball pitcher. 39th Round, 1,180th Overall: RF Dave Naulty (1.5): I drafted him in the 6th Round last year. And he fell to 39th? My scout had him as a 4.5*! What happen to this kid? Well, he still has lightning speed and a decent bat, so maybe I got a steal. Or maybe he just isn't good... 40th Round, 1,210th Overall: SP Jon Ross (0.5): A borderline starter with plus stuff, Ross can toss mop up innings in the minors. He's not the worst player I drafted, but he's far from the best. But who knows... And that finishes an uninspiring 2027 class... Here's where my undrafted 2024 guys went: 2nd Round: SP Mike Bookert: Selected in the 12th Round by the Dodgers 6th Round: CF Omari Golatt: Selected in the 4th Round by the Rangers 9th Round: 2B Andy Gibson: Selected in the 4th Round by the Braves 12th Round: SS Rodolfo Silva: Selected in the 39th Round by the Mets, then released 18th Round: CF Jeff McMaster: Returned for his senior year 19th Round: CF Ben Robinson: Selected in the 10th Round by the Angels 28th Round: 2B Amari Grevious: Selected in the 38th Round by the Rangers, then released 29th Round: SP Joe Zumwalt: Returned for his senior year 35th Round: CF Alfredo Garza: Selected in the 36th Round by the Royals, then released 38th Round: SP Sincere Sturrup: Selected by the Braves in the 37th Round, then released At least most of these guys are starting to get re-selected... Anyways, I'll do a quick 5-year flashback of the 2022 class. Next year, I'll be able to do a 10 year and 5 year flashback My first pick was Jonathan Carillo, who I took 25th overall. He's a decent prospect, although I shipped him with Nick Neidert to the Royals in a five team deal. He's in A+ Wilimington currently. Joe Kramer, who I took 36th Overall, looks like a bullpen stud and has already made his big league debut. He's having a rough year in AAA this season, but is rated a 2.5/4.5. 4th Rounder Whip Mifflen is another decent guy, who has starter potential and can become a 4th outfielder as well. I shipped him to the Braves in the big Mike Soroka trade, and they sent him to the Reds where he plays in A Dayton. Pete Alder was my 2nd Round pick, and he's dissapointed. He's in Greensboro currently, but isn't really exciting at all. 3rd Rounder Jeff Hamrick was so bad that I released him in 2024. He spent a little time with Kansas City and Seattle in their farm system, but is currently a free agent. That's all for the top 5 rounds, as I didn't sign my 5th rounder. Other notables include 8th Rounder Greg Walston who is currently a 4* reliever. He pitched for me a bit before being traded to the Nationals in the Billy Williamson deadline deal. He's having a rough season, but is pitching in the pros. 7th Rounder Mike Seals has bounced around a bit, and was also in the Soroka deal, and is currently in R Ogden in the Dodgers organization. He's a decent starting spec of his own. 24th Rounder Billy Marshall has turned into a 3/3.5* reliever, and I might have let him get away. I released him in 2023, where he latched on with the Pirates. He's currently in A West Virginia, but he tossed 5.2 shutout innings in the big leauges this year with 10 strikeouts and a 0.35 WHIP. 29th Rounder Hunter Gaddis is in AAA New Orleans and has turned into a 2.5* reliever. He has a shot to get called up and despite being 29, could be a decent pen guy in the bigs. More guys are still in the system, and a few retired, but those are the ones worth noting. Some notables around the league include: Athletis 1st Rounder Steve Hayes (16-21, 4.65 ERA, 359 K) Mariners 1st Rounder Luis Flores (14-13, 4.37 ERA, 71 K) Angels 1st Rounder Sergio Ayala (.291/.355/.535, 32 HR, 120 RBI) White Sox 1st Rounder Daylen Lile (.238/.308/.327, 8 HR, 64 RBI, 59 SB) Rangers 1st Rounder Andy Norman (.268/.313/.509, 24 HR, 70 RBI) Reds 2nd Rounder Jerrion Ealy (.262/.315/.398, 19 HR, 97 RBI, 41 SB) Cubs 2nd Rounder Ben Henning (.273/.324/.547, 46 HR, 120 RBI, 26 SB) Cardinals 3rd Rounder Joe Bernal (14-12, 3.15 ERA, 161 K) Astros 3rd Rounder Brad Ford (7-7, 2.82 ERA, 159 K, 24 SV) Reds 3rd Rounder Stephon Canada (.312/.374/.554, 25 HR, 107 RBI) White Sox 5th Rounder Alfredo Ordorica (.295/.343/.498, 7 HR, 35 RBI) Twins 7th Rounder Luis Pastrana (21-20, 3.82 ERA, 383 K) Cardinals 8th Rounder Dana White (9-7, 3.59 ERA, 192 K, 22 SV) White Sox 8th Rounder Jamie Priest (7-7, 3.72 ERA, 12K K, 37 SV) Miami 8th Rounder Greg Walston (6-3, 2.99 ERA, 95 K, 18 SV) Orioles 10th Rounder Gene Hall (13-17, 3.15 ERA, 277 K) Twins 12th Rounder Chad Whye (5-6, 3.75 ERA, 146 K, 3 SV) Reds 13th Rounder Mike Kuhns (11-4, 3.32 ERA, 205 K, 2 SV) Tigers 19th Rounder Robby Steinmetz (5-4, 2.88 ERA, 120 K, 29 SV) More baseball is coming up next! |

June 7th-June 13th
June 7th, 2027: We were bumped up to third in the Power Rankings, although the Phillies are the current #1. At 36-21, we are 3 games behind them.
We started a three game series with them as Devon Peterson (5-3, 5.37 ERA, 1.54 WHIP) took on Francisco Morales (3-2, 4.26 ERA, 1.42 WHIP). Both teams put up runs, but in the end, it was the late runs that pushed us in front for a 7-4 victory. Peterson tossed 6 innings with 8 hits, 4 runs, 4 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Luis Alcantra and Riley Ferrell got holds before Alpha Quivers struck out the side in the 9th to get the save. Mac Horvath was 2-for-4 with a run scored, a walk, and 3 RBI's. Matt Hogan was 1-for-3 with a pair of steals and walks as well as three runs scored. Chris Reid was 1-for-4 with a double and RBI. Thomas Dillard hit a pinch-hit two run homer in the 8th. Peterson was 1-for-2 with a double. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a run scored. June 8th, 2027: Greg Jalpa, my 1st Round Pick, decided he'd attend college instead of signing for a bit more then $4 million with me. I'd get a compensation pick for him next year that would be 30th Overall. The White Sox lost LHP Jorge Rivera for the year with shoulder inflammation. The 23-year-old was 2-0 with a 4.32 ERA and he struck out 28 in 25 innings. Game two saw Ignacio Hinojos (1-0, 3.79 ERA, 1.21 WHIP) who struggled against the Phillies earlier this season, take on Bobby Stiles (3-5, 7.33 ERA, 1.57 WHIP) who has had a tough season so far. He owns a 4.0 K/9 and 3.4 BB/9, both extremely concerning numbers. With help from a 4 run 5th, we cut the division deficit to just a single game with an 8-5 win. Hinojos went 5 innings with 5 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Matt Hogan allowed a walk and two run homer without getting an out. Marc Bjork allowed a run in the 9th with 2 hits, a walk, and a strikeout. Joseph Jarneski tossed 2 innings with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a grand slam in the 5th. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-4 with 2 runs and a walk. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-2 with a run scored, steal, hit by pitch, and 2 walks. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-3 with a run, 2 RBI's, and a walk. Mac Horvath was 1-for-4 with a run scored and hit by pitch. Chris Reid was 1-for-3 with 2 walks and a run scored. June 9th, 2027: 2nd Rounder Andy White agreed to a $510,000 bonus. Cardinals rookie Juan Ochoa ruptured his ulnar collateral ligament, and will miss the rest of the season. In 12 starts, he was 4-1 with a 2.91 ERA and 101 strikeouts in 68 innings. The Mets acquired SP Mashiaro Tanaka from the Giants for 3B Amed Rosario. I like this deal for the Mets, and Tanaka is still a solid pitcher at 38. We looked to finish the sweep and tie the Phillies for first with an ace-off: Jake Florence (5-3, 3.27 ERA, 1.19 WHIP) taking on Jim Gilbert (5-3, 3.06 ERA, 0.97 WHIP). A road sweep against the best team seemed impossible, and they edged us 2-1 to salvage the finale. Florence went 5.2 innings with 7 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Jarneski and Niewald combined for 2.1 innings with 4 strikeouts. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-3 with a solo homer. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a doule. Mac Horvath was 1-for-3 with a walk. We got today off before heading to New York. June 10th, 2027: 1st Rounder Eric Richer agreed to a $650,000 signing bonus. 3rd Rounder Jim Davis agreed to a $350,000 signing bonus. We're off to the Big Apple for three with the Mets. We'll see the newly acquired Mashiaro Tanaka (5-3, 4.31 ERA), Eric Walker (4-2, 5.13 ERA), and Brady Singer (4-6, 4.32 ERA). June 11th, 2027: 5th Rounder Mike Reece agreed to a $200,000 bonus. The Nationals acquired RHP's Steve Vincent and Pat Langridge for RF Rogelio Valenzuela. I really like this deal for the Nationals. We opened the series in New York with Steve Paustian (5-3, 3.63 ERA, 1.30 WHIP) taking on Mashiaro Tanaka (5-3, 4.31 ERA, 1.36 WHIP). Paustian tossed a gem last time against the Mets, and in two starts he has a 0.67 ERA with 9 strikeotus compared to 3 walks. Tanaka tossed the gem today, and they shut us out 6-0. Paustian tossed 6.2 innings with 8 hits, 4 runs, 2 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Joseph Jarneski allowed 2 runs and 3 hits in 0.2 innings. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a double. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-3 with a walk and steal. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-3 with a walk. June 12th, 2027: We looked to even up the series with Luis Ardon (4-2, 3.03 ERA, 1.20 WHIP) facing Eric Walker (4-2, 5.13 ERA, 1.42 WHIP). Neither guy pitched well in their first start against the opposing team. It was another shutout, but we came on top, winning the middle game 2-0. Ardon tossed 7.1 innings with 4 hits, a walk, and 4 strikeouts. Riley Ferrell got the hold, finishing the 8th with a pair of fly outs. Alpha Quivers got the save, an inning with a hit and strikeout. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-4 with a two run homer. Daylen Lile was 1-for-4 with a steal, double, and run scored. Mac Horvath was 2-for-4. June 13th, 2027: Fan vote update: Dillard 2nd. Kelenic 2nd. Quivers 3rd. We looked to finish the series with a win, as the struggling Devon Peterson (6-3, 5.43 ERA, 1.58 WHIP) took on Brady Singer (4-6, 4.32 ERA, 1.35 WHIP). Peterson's struggles continued, and the Mets won the rubber match 7-2. Peterson allowed 6 hits and 4 runs in 4.2 innings with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Marc Bjork allowed 3 hits and 2 runs in 0.2 innings with a walk and strikeout. Joseph Jarneski allowed a run off 2 hits and a walk in 1.1 innings with a strikeout. Chris Reid was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Mac Horvath was 2-for-4. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a double. Matt Hogan had a pinch hit single in the 6th, and also stole second. Blue Jays CF Ron Burk extended his hit streak to 20 games. I optioned Joseph Jarneski to AAA and recalled Jared Taylor. We're headed back home for three against the Brewers, who are currently tied for 1st with the Reds and the 1st Wild Card with us as well. We'll see Rodolfo Espinoza (4-0, 2.01 ERA), Blake Bivens (5-2, 2.76 ERA), and Alfredo Rivera (5-3, 5.17 ERA). |

June 14th-June 20th
June 14th, 2027: I signed 4th Rounder Josh Lucas to a $250,000 signing bonus.
Down in New Orleans, Palban Gamboa earned more hardware, winning American Confrence Player of the Week. He hit .458 with 2 homers and 6 RBI's. The slugging right fielder is hitting .329/.388/.671 with 11 homers and 38 RBI's, and is pushing for a callup later in the season. Now 39-24, we dropped one spot to 4th in the Power Rankings. With the Brewers in town, Ignacio Hinojos (2-0, 3.77 ERA, 1.24 WHIP) pitched in front of a sold out crowd against the youngster Rodolfo Espinoza (4-0, 2.01 ERA, 0.81 WHIP) who's making his 2nd start of the season. We didn't defend home turf, and we were topped 6-2. Matt Hogan left with back tightness, and will be day-to-day for 5 days. Hinojos went 4.2 innings with 5 hits, 2 runs (1 earned), 3 walks, and 11 strikeouts. 11! Hogan allowed 3 hits and 2 runs in an inning with a walk and a strikeout. Riley Ferrell couldn't get an out, and allowed 2 hits, 2 runs, and a walk. Cho-yeong Hyoun tossed 2 innings with a walk and 4 strikeouts. Daylen Lile was 3-for-4 with a walk. Chris Reid was 1-for-4 with a double. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-3 with a double and sac-fly. Mac Horvath was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-4 with a walk and run scored. Jake Taylor was 1-for-3 with a sac-fly. I optioend Hogan to AAA, and purchased the contract of the red-hot Palban Gamboa. Blue Jays 1B Greyson Jenista was 5-for-6 in a 9-7 win over the White Sox. June 15th, 2027: We looked to even the series back up with Jake Florence (5-4, 3.26 ERA, 1.22 WHIP) taking on Blake Bivens (5-2, 2.76 ERA, 1.26 WHIP). Today, we have the position advantage at all spots in the order (all, but 1 yesterday), but we still lost 4-1... Florence went 5 with 6 hits, 4 runs, 3 walks, and 5 strikeouts. The pen combined for 4 innings with a hit, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-3 with a walk, run scored, and steal. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a double. Daylen Lile was 1-for-4 with a double and RBI. Braves SP Ken Harty tossed a 6-hit shutout in a 9-0 win over the Padres. He struck out 6 and walked 1. Blue Jays CF Ron Burk's hit streak was ended at 21 in a 5-4 win over the White Sox. June 16th, 2027: Tylor Megill will beging a rehab assignment in AAA. Yankees RHP Nick Pogue is out for the eyar wtih a damaged elbow ligament. The 27-year-old was 3-2 with a 3.44 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 34 innings. We looked to avoid the sweep with Steve Paustian (5-4, 3.78 ERA, 1.32 WHIP) taking on Alfredo Rivera (5-3, 5.17 ERA, 1.29 WHIP). Thankfully, I didn't have to deal with getting swept at home, and a five run first was enough for the 6-2 win. Paustian went 6.2 innings with 4 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and 11 strikeouts. Jared Taylor and Luis Alcantra combined for 2.1 innings with a hit and 2 strikeouts a piece. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-5 with a solo homer. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a run scored and steal. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-2 with 2 walks and a run scored. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-3 with a walk, run scored, and RBI. Paustian was 1-for-3 with 2 RBI's. Tomorrow is an off day before the Cardinals come to town. June 17th, 2027: Athletics 3B Ryan Vilade hit thre homers in a 9-7 win over the Yankees. Twins 1B Lucius Fox was 5-for-5 as they edged the Phillies 11-10. The Cardinals come to town for three, and we'll see Ben O'Neill (0-1, 9.72 ERA), Logan Gilbert (6-4, 3.58 ERA), and Eric Webster (2-3, 3.91 ERA). June 18th, 2027: The Padres sent RHP Chris Rodriguez to the Giants for RHP Juan Trejo and RHP Sam Orellana. I like this deal for the Giants. The Nationals sent 1B Anderson Franco to the Rays for RHP Jose Almonte and 3B Shamel LeSane. I love this deal for the Rays. We opened the series hosting the Cardinals with Luis Ardon (5-2, 2.70 ERA, 1.14 WHIP) facing Ben O'Neill (0-1, 9.72 ERA, 1.80 WHIP) in a must-win opener. We have the better player nearly everywhere on the field, but we still lose 4-2 as we've had a rough stretch as of late. Ardon went 5.1 innings with 7 htis, 3 runs, 2 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Luis Alcantra allowed a run off 2 hits in 2 innings with 2 strikeouts. Thomas Dillard was 3-for-4 with a double, run scored, and RBI. Daylen Lile was 1-for-5 with a run scored and his league leading 18th steal. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a double. Chris Reid was 2-for-3 with a walk. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Indians 1B Anthony Rizzo hit his 400th career homer. He got his 2,000th career hit not to long ago, but at 37, he's really struggled, hitting .193/.261/.337 with 7 homers and 23 RBI's. This will liekly be his first negative WAR season since 2011. June 19th, 2027: We looked to even the series back up with Devon Peterson (6-4, 5.58 ERA, 1.59 WHIP) taking on Logan Gilvert (6-4, 3.58 ERA, 1.19 WHIP). We have the advantage in every opsition today, but I doubt it will do us much good. I was partially wrong, and we won 4-2 to at least avoid getting swept at home. Peterson looked great, 6 innings with 1 hit, 1 run, 2 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrella and Riley Ferrell earned holds before Alpha Quivers got the save. Quivers allowed a solo homer in the 9th. Eric Kisela was 2-for-3 with 2 doubles, a run scored, RBI, and hit by pitch. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-3 with a run scored, walk, and steal. Daylen Lile was 2-for-4. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with an RBI. More milestone homers today: Red Sox 1B Cody Bellinger hit his 500th and his teammate 1B Rhys Hoskins hit his 400th. I don't think teammates have ever hit milestone homers on the same day. June 20th, 2027: Fan vote update: Dillard 2nd. Kelenic 2nd. Quivers 2nd. Palban Gamboa made his debut in the series finale between Ignacio Hinojos (2-1, 3.60 ERA, 1.28 WHIP) and Eric Webster (2-3, 3.91 ERA, 1.55 WHIP). Former Marlin Rodolfo Medrano hit a solo homer in the 1st, but luckily that's the only hit and run the Cardinals would get, and we won the finale 6-1. Hinojos went 6 innings with just the 1 hit and run to go with 10 strikeouts and 3 walks. He's struck out 84 in 56 innings. The pen tossed 3 innings with a walk and 5 strikeouts. Daylen Lile was 2-for-5 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI's. Mac Horvath was 2-for-4 with a doubel and 2 runs scored. Chris Reid was 1-for-3 with a run scored, RBI, and walk. Gamboa was 1-for-3 with a walk and RBI in his debut. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-3 with a hit by pitch and run scored. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-3 with a run scored and sac-fly. We're off to Arizona for three with the Diamondbacks as we start a 7 game road trip before an off day. We'll see Zach Linginfelter (3-5, 4.56 ERA), Steven Gingery (5-5, 4.72 ERA) and the breakout Jean-Christophe Hernandez (7-1, 2.00 ERA). But first, with the GCL season starting tomorrow, I went to cut my GCL roster from 70 to 40. I made a few trades, the first a normal one, sending four prospects to the Red Sox for C Esteban Moreno. Next, I did something different. I sent prospects to some of the unaffiliated minor league teams (the ones preparing for expansion) to give them some young draftees to add to the system. I sent five youngsters to the Clinton Pilots for someone who I wanted to draft years ago, SS C.J. Abrams. I sent five more guys to the Winnipeg Goldeyes for RHP Rusty Schilling. I then acquired former draftee Jonathan Gettys from the Albany Senators for five prospects. I'll try to pick different teams next year to spread the wealth. |

June 21st-June 27th
June 21st, 2027: The Mets will be without SP Tyler Mahle for the rest of the year with a torn labrum. It might not be the worst of injuries, as he was 2-6 with a 10.07 ERA with just 28 strikeouts in 44.2 innings.
My AAA reliever Jimmy Chapman had radial never decombression surgery, and will miss the rest of the year. He's on the 40, so eventually I will move him to the 60-Day DL. At 42-27, we dropped to 6th in the Power Rankings, but we are just half a game out of first. We opened the series at Chase Field with Jake Florence (5-5, 3.50 ERA, 1.25 WHIP) taking on Zach Linginfelter (3-5, 4.56 ERA, 1.33 WHIP). It was a close one, but we managed to escpae with a 6-5 win. Daylen Lile left with groin tightness and Mac Horvath was ejected in the 9th arguing a strike call. Lile is just DTD for possibly 2 more days. He was 2-for-2 with an RBI double before leaving the game. Florence went 5 innings with 4 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Jarred Taylor got the win, an inning with 2 hits, a run, and strikeout. Luis Alcantra, Riley Ferrell, and Alpha Quivers got holds before Ernesto Estrella got the save. Quivers couldn't get the save, allowing 3 hits and a run before being pulled in favor of Estrella, who got the final out of the game. Jarred Kelenic had a monster game, 4-for-5 with 2 runs, 2 steals, a triple, and an RBI. Chris Reid was 1-for-3 with a doule, and walks. Mac Horvath was 1-for-4 with a run scored, RBI, steal, and walk. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a double, RBI, and steal. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-5 with a run scored and RBI. Another milestone homer, C Gary Sanchez hit #300. Now with the Indians, he's a career .241/.308/.473 hitter with 301 homers (he hit two) and 810 RBI's in 4,942 at bats. We're also back in first place, although Philly and Atlanta are both half a game back. June 22nd, 2027: I wasn't ready to give first place back up, so Steve Paustian (6-4, 3.70 ERA, 1.29 WHIP) needed to stay hot against the also hot Steven Gingery (5-5, 4.72 ERA, 1.46 WHIP) in the second of three. Paustian was amazing, and we topped the Sankes 5-1. Paustian tossed 8 scorless innings with 3 hits, 3 walks, and 7 strikeouts. I wish he went out for the 9th, but Cho-yeong Hyoung took it, and allowed a hit, walk, and unearned run in 0.1 innings. Alpha Quivers finished the game with a ground out and strikeout to earn his 20th save of the season. I debated giving Lile the day off (I would tomorrow), and he rewarded me by going 4-for-5 with a run scored and RBI. Mac Horvath was 2-for-4 with a walk, double, RBI, and steal. Chris Reid was 2-for-3 with a solo homer, 2 RBI's, and a walk. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-3 with 2 walks and a run scored. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored. June 23rd, 2027: We looked to finish the sweep with Luis Ardon (5-3, 2.88 ERA, 1.18 WHIP) facing Korey Bell, who's making the first start of his career. He didn't pitch bad at all, but Ardon was too good and we shut them out 2-0. Ardon tossed 6.1 scorless innings with 6 hits, a walk, and 3 strikeouts. Luis Alcantra got a hold and Riley Ferrell a save. Juan Ramirez was a perfect 3-for-3 with a walk. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-4 with a solo homer. Chris Reid was 1-for-4 with a double. We're off to San Francisco for a four game set with the Giants before a needed off day. We'll see most of the rotation, Jhony Brito (1-0, 0.82 ERA), Josh Canseco (0-4, 9.26 ERA), former Padre Chris Rodriguez (4-3, 4.07 ERA), and Jhoan Duran (7-4, 4.38 ERA). June 24th, 2027: The Rays will be without SP Paul Blackburn for the year with radial nerve compression. He was 4-7 with a 5.71 ERA and he struck out jsut 45 in 75.2 innings. We opened the series with Devon Peterson (7-4, 5.26 ERA, 1.51 WHIP) facing Jhony Brito (1-0, 0.82 ERA, 1.06 WHIP) who is making his first start of the season. We were down 4-1 heading to the 8th, and then 4-2 into the 9th, but we got three to take a 5-4 lead in the 9th. Alpha Quivers struck out his ex-teammate Cole Roederer to end the game. Peterson tossed 6 innings with 6 hits, 4 runs, 3 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrella got the win, pitching a perfect 8th. Alpha Quivers got the save, an inning with a hit, walk, and 2 strikeouts. Eric Kisela was 3-for-4 with 2 RBI's. Jarred Kelenic was 2-for-5 with a two run homer. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-4 with 2 runs, 2 doubles, and a sac-fly. Mac Horvath was 1-for-4 with a hit by pitch. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a run scored. June 25th, 2027: We looked to win our 7th in a row with Igancio Hinojos (3-1, 3.38 ERA, 1.21 WHIP) taking on the young righty Josh Canseco (0-4, 9.26 ERA, 1.97 WHIP). We tried really hard to blow this one, but despite allowing 3 in the 9th, we won 6-5. Ignacio Hinojos went 6 innnings with 4 hits, 2 runs (1 earned), a walk, and 10 strikeouts. All the runs were uneared in the 9th, Ernesto Estrella allowing 2 in 0.1 innings with a hit, and Quivers allowing 1 with 2 hits in 0.2 innings and a strikeout. He got the save, while Jared Taylor and Riley Ferrell earned holds. Only 1 of the 5 runs were unearned. Isaac Nunez was 3-for-4 with 2 runs, an RBI, and was a homer away from the cycle. Daylen Lile was 2-for-4 with a walk and RBI. Hinojos was 1-for-2 with a two run double and run scored. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-2 with a run scored, walk, a sac-fly and 2 RBI's. Chris Reid and Mac Horvath were both 1-for-4 with a run scored and double. Twins 3B Lucius Fox was 5-for-6 in a 4-3 win over the Indians. June 26th, 2027: We looked to keep rolling with Jake Florence (5-5, 3.61 ERA, 1.25 WHIP) taking on Chris Rodriguez (4-3, 4.07 ERA, 1.13 WHIP). It was a great all-around game, and we won our 8th straight 7-1. Florence went 6.2 innings with 3 hits, a run, 4 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Luis Alcantra got a hold, tossing 1.1 innings with 2 strikeouts before we broke away in the 8th and 9th. Daylen Lile was 4-for-5 with 2 runs scored and a steal. Jarred Kelenic was 3-for-4 with 2 runs, a walk, RBI, double, and 2 steals. Chris Reid was a perfect 3-for-3 with a walk and run scored. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-5 with 2 RBI's. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a triple, sac-bunt, run scored, and RBI. Isaac Nunez was w-for-4 with an RBI. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. June 27th, 2027: Thomas Dillard is up to 1st in the Catcher vote. Kelenic and Quivers remain 2nd for RF and RP respectively. We looked to finish a perfect road trip with a four game sweep of the Giants, as former Giant Steve Paustian (7-4, 3.39 ERA, 1.24 WHIP) took on Jhoan Duran (7-4, 4.38 ERA, 1.38 WHIP). We ran out of steam, and were shutout 1-0. Poor Paustian... He went the distance, 8 innings with 3 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 9 strikeouts. He could've gone 9, but we decided not to score the entire game. It wasn't Daylen Lile's fault, 3-for-4 with a double and steal. Chris Reid was 1-for-4 and Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3. We'll, we get the day off, but I can't complain at all about the last stretch of games. We'll head back home, before a two game series with the Twins before another off day. |

June 28th-July 5th
June 28th, 2027: Daylen Lile was named National League Player of the Week. He hit .600 with 3 RBI's to improve his season average to an impressive .288.
Angels lefty Chris Villman is out for the season with a torn rotator cuff. Unlikely to retun until July of next season, he was 1-1 with a 1.64 ERA with a save in 33 innings with 29 strikeouts. We're back all the way up to 2nd in the Power Rankings. At an impressive 48-28, we have a decent 1.5 game lead over the Braves. On our way home, we'd get ready for a quick two game set with the Twis. We'd see Blayne Enlow (4-3, 4.19 ERA) and Chad Bradenburg (5-2, 3.30 ERA). June 29th, 2027: We opened the series with the Twins as Luis Ardon (6-3, 2.64 ERA, 1.17 WHIP) took on Blayne Enlow (4-3, 4.19 ERA, 1.52 WHIP) as we looked to start the quick series strong. Ardon was brilliant, and we shut them out 7-0. Ardon went 7.1 innings with 3 hits, 4 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Cho-yeong Hyoun tossed 1.2 innings with a hit and 2 strikeouts. Isaac Nunez was 3-for-4 with a run scored and RBI. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-3 with a run scored, 6 RBI's, a double, sac-fly, and a homer. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-3 with a walk, steal, and 2 runs scored. Mac Horvath was 2-for-3 with a walk and 3 runs scored. Blue Jays 3B Mike Tobler was 5-for-5 in a 8-6 win over the Rays. June 30th, 2027: We looked to finish the quick sweep with Devon Peterson (7-4, 5.31 ERA, 1.51 WHIP) taking on the ace-quality #2 Chad Bradenburg (5-2, 3.30 ERA, 1.26 WHIP). We got almost all the games scoring in the first with 4 runs, and we edged them 4-1 to finish the seriers. Peterson went 5.1 innings with 6 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Jarred Taylor, Danny Niewald, and Riley Ferrell got holds and Alpha Quivers earned the save. Juan Ramirez 3-for-4 with a run scored, steal, and RBI. Mac Horvath was 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI's. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-2 with 2 walks and a run scored. Former Marlin farmhand Luis Padilla hit for the cycle and was 5-for-6 in a 16-7 Rangers win over the Yankees. Tomorrow is an off day at home before the Padres come to town for four. July 1st, 2027: The Padres come to town tomrrow, and we'll start a four game series with Cory Abbott (1-0, 4.87 ERA), followed by Charles King (4-9, 4.41 ERA), Tanner Scott (1-0, 2.31 ERA), and Dallas Wollfolk (2-5, 4.10 ERA). The International Pool is also going to be published tomorrow! July 2nd, 2027: The Internaional Pool is published, and there is one guy I absolutley love, but I only have a bit more then $2 million to spend. We opened the four game set at homer with Jake Florence (6-5, 3.45 ERA, 1.23 WHIP) taking on Cory Abbott (1-0, 4.87 ERA, 1.52 WHIP). We kept rolling, and held on for a 5-3 win. Florence went 5 innings with 4 hits, 2 runs, 4 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Taylor and Luis Alcantra both got holds before Quivers got another save. Juan Ramirez was 4-for-4 with 2 runs, 2 RBI's, and a double. Daylen Lilte was 2-for-4 with a pair of steals. Jarred Kelenic was 2-for-4 with a triple, run scored, and RBI. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a double and RBI. Chris Reid was 1-for-4 with a double and RBI. July 3rd, 2027: The Rays will be without LF Travis Swaggerty for the year with a fractured ankle. He was hitting .274 with 10 homers and 34 RBI's. Game two saw the red hot Steve Paustian (7-5, 3.21 ERA, 1.20 WHIP) take on Chrales King (4-9, 4.41 ERA, 1.53 WHIP) who shut us out in his last appearence against us. We tried really hard to lose, but despite allowing two in the 9th, we escaped with a 3-2 win. Paustian went 5 innings with 4 hits, 3 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Luis Alcantra got the win, getting a one pitch out to end the 7th. Riley Ferrell got a hold, and Alpha Quivers had a rough save. He allowed 2 runs, a walk, and a hit, in the 9th, while striking out the side. Mac Horvath was 2-for-4 with 2 steals. Daylen Lile was 1-for-2 with a run, 2 walks, and 2 steals. Chris Reid was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. Jarred Kelenic and Thomas Dillard were both 1-for-3 with hit by pitches. Eric Kisela came off the bench, 1-for-1 with a sac-fly and two RBI's. July 4th, 2027: I re-signed all my personell that woudl accpet an extension. Dillard moved up to 1st for catchers. Kelenic and Quivers remained 2nd. We've won 9 of our last 10, and 4 straight, as Ignacio Hinojos (4-1, 3.19 ERA, 1.18 WHIP) looked to stay hot against Tanner Scott (1-0, 2.31 ERA, 1.03 WHIP). We got three in the 9th, but still fell a little short, losing game three 5-4. Hinojos allowed 4 hits and 3 runs with 5 walks and 4 strikeouts in 4.1 innings. Cho-yeong Hyoun went 2.2 innings with a hit, run, walk, and 3 strikeouts. Jarred Taylor allowed a run in 0.1 innings with 2 hits, a walk, and strikeout. Jarred Kelenic was 2-for-5 with a two run homer. Eric Kisela hit a pinch hit solo shot in the 9th. Jhon Solarte was 2-for-3 with a walk. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-5 with an RBI double. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-5 with a double and run scored. Jon Reird was 1-for-3 with a walk. July 5th, 2027: I signed International Free Agent 1B/OF Juan Meza to a $600,000 bonus. He's a 2.5* prospect with massive power, rated 87 potential. We remained 2nd in the Power Rankings and at 52-29 we have a nice 3.5 game lead. We looked to win the finale and the series with Luis Ardon (6-3, 2.42 ERA, 1.16 WHIP) taking on Dallas Woolfolk (2-5, 4.10 ERA, 1.24 WHIP). It was a close one, but they edged us 4-3 to battle back and take the final two in the series. Ardon went just 3.2 innings with 6 hits, 4 runs, 3 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Mac Bjork tossed 2.1 innings with 2 hits and a strikeout. Riley Ferrell tossed 1.2 innings with a walk and 3 strikeouts. Daylen Lile was 2-for-4 with a double and RBI. The Rule-5 "star" Eric Kisela had a pinch hit double and he scored in the 7th. Chris Reid was 1-for-3 with a walk and 2 RBI's. Palban Gamboa was 1-for-3 with a wlak and run scored. RF Tim Green hit for the cycle in a 7-5 Rays win over the Astros. We're off to Atlanta for three with the Braves, and we'd see Ty Madden (7-5, 2.77 ERA), Ian Beadell (6-5, 4.70 ERA), and superstar Ken Harty (10-1, 2.05 ERA). The draft pick signing deadline is also tomorrow, so I'll find out where my unsigned guys will be attending college. |

July 6th-July 11th
July 6th, 2027: The Braves acquired RF Erick McKeon and RHP Joe Burch from the White Sox for RF Josh Crusan. I like this deal for both teams, although when McKeon was young, I really wanted him. That's a dude who stole 60+ bases in his first four years.
We were supposed to play a game in Atlanta, but it got postponed, and we'll have a double header tomorrow. Cardinals CF Rodolfo Medrano was 5-for-5 in a 6-3 win over the Angels. The unsigned draftees announced where they'd go, and I made my edits to the draft class. Here's where my guys are heading: 1st Round: 3B Geoff Jalpa (Texas 2030) 8th Round: 3B Zach Koford (Covenant 2028) 11th Round: CF Joe Housand (Mississippi State 2030) 15th Round: 3B Jamari Maith (Cal-State Stanislaus 2030) 19th Round: C Jeff Kisling (Cal-State Fullerton 2030) 23rd Round: SP A.J. Dailey (Seton Hall 2028) 24th Round: SS Juan Tapanes (Michigan 2030) 26th Round: 3B Lupe Morales (Florida 2030) 28th Round: CF Josh Fonseca (Curry 2028) 34th Round: SP Jorge de los Santos (Principia 2028) This has to be my smallest unsigned class. July 7th, 2027: The Rangers acquired 1B Bert Robertson and CF Rob Davis from the Cubs for RHP Ryan Dease and 1B Jorge Abreu. It's a good swap for both teams. Game 1 of 2 took place between us and the Braves as Devon Peterson (8-4, 5.09 ERA, 1.51 WHIP) faced Ty Madden (7-5, 2.77 ERA, 1.13 WHIP). Mac Horvath is an impressive 8-for-11 against Madden, and he did his part in the 5-3 openeing victory. Peterson went 6, alloiwng 8 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and he struck out 3. Luis Alcantra threw 1 pitch, and allowed a solo homer. Ernesto Estrella, Jake Taylor, and Riley Ferrell got holds while Alpha Quivers got the save. Juan Ramirez was 3-for-5 with a two run homer, a double, a steal, and two runs scored. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-3 with 2 walks. Horvath was 2-for-4 with a walk and 2 runs scored. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-4 with a homer, walk, and 3 RBI's. Game two took place between Jake Florence (7-5, 3.45 ERA, 1.25 WHIP) and Ian Bedell (6-5, 4.70 ERA, 1.51 WHIP). We swept the double header with a 6-1 victory and we'd go for the sweep tomorrow. Isaac Nunez was hit by a pitch and bruised his wrist, and will be day-to-day for about 5 days. Florence went 6 innings with 5 hits, a walk, and 4 strikeouts. Marc Bjork allowed a hit and run in the 9th while also getting a strikeout. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-5 with a double and run scored. Jake Taylor was 1-for-4 with a base clearing double. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-4 with a run scored and RBI. Nunez was 1-for-3 with a run scored and the hit by pitch. Palban Gamboa hit a pinch hit homer in the 9th, the first homer of his young career. July 8th, 2027: The Red Sox acquired C Jkae Herbert and LF Derek Heinmiller from the Dodgers for 1B Joe Naranjo. We looked to sweep the second place Braves at home, but we had to get rid of the superstar we traded them, Ken Harty (10-1, 2.05 ERA, 0.89 WHIP). Steve Paustian (7-5, 3.06 ERA, 1.21 WHIP) looked to continue his hot stretch for us, although he was hit really hard in his first start against the Braves. It took 11 innings, but we were able to edge them 3-2 to finish the sweep and extend our lead in the division. Jarred Kelenic left with an injury... Paustian went 5 innings with 3 hits, 2 runs (1 earned...), 4 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Jarred Taylor tossed 2.1 innings with a hit and 2 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers got the win, striking out 2 in the 10th. Riley Ferrell got the save, striking out 1 in the 9th. Kelenic was a monster before getting hurt, 3-for-5 with a solo homer and a steal. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-4 with a walk, 2 runs, a steal, and a solo homer. Jon Reid was 1-for-4 with a double. We're off to St. Louis for three, and we'll scheduled to face Eric Webster (3-4, 3.95 ERA), Luis Manzano (5-6, 4.72 ERA), and Logan Gilbert (6-5, 3.72 ERA). July 9th, 2027: The Astros sent LF Kyle Tucker to the Indians for RHP Mike Shawaryn. It's an even deal, although when considering salary, I like this for the Astros. We opened the series in St. Louis with Ignacio Hinojos (4-2, 3.39 ERA, 1.24 WHIP) taking on Eric Webster (3-4, 3.95 ERA, 1.45 WHIP). The pitching wasn't there, and we were topped 7-2, as the Cardinals moved to .500. Hinojos allowed 6 in 4.1 innings off 8 hits with 5 strikeouts. Cho-yeong Hyoun allowed a run and 3 hits in 2.2 innings with 2 strikeouts. Daylen Lile was 3-for-4 with a run scored, double, and his 27th steal. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-4 with a homer and 2 RBI's. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-4. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-3 with a walk. Arizona 1B Iestyn Spreckley launched 3 homers in a 8-7 win over the Rockies. It wasn't the biggest homer news of the day, as Nomar Mazara hit his 300th homer in a Giants 11-3 win over the rival Dodgers. He's a career .292/.370/.506 hitter with 1,018 RBI's in 1,782 games between Texas and San Francisco. But, it gets bigger! 37-year-old LF Giancarlo Stanton hit his 700th career homer in a 5-2 Yankees win over Baltimore. Stanton ranks 4th All-Time and 62 behind Barry Bonds record of 762. Realistically, with 3.5 seasons that will account for his year 40 season, he needs just 16 in the full seasons and 9 to finish the year. He does have 20 on the season, and is on pace for 37. Jul 10th, 2027: I optioned Marc Bjork to AAA to recall today's starter, Tylor Megill (1-2, 3.98 ERA, 1.45 WHIP) from his rehab assignment. He'd face Colombian Rookie Luis Manzano (5-6, 4.72 ERA, 1.33 WHIP). We couldn't even the series, and they topped us 5-1... Megill went 5.2 innings with 7 hits, 3 runs, 3 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Luis Alcantra went 0.2 innings with 2 hits, 2 runs, and 2 walks. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-4. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Palban Gamboa was 1-for-4 with a run scored. Daylen Lile was 1-for-3 with a walk. July 11th, 2027: Dillard remains 1st, Quivers 2nd, and the injured Kelenic drops to 3rd. We needed to salvage the finale with the red hot Luis Ardon (7-4, 2.72 ERA, 1.21 WHIP) taking on Logan Gilbert (6-5, 3.72 ERA, 1.23 WHIP). Somehow, we could handle the Braves and not the Cardinals, and they swept us with a 7-3 win. Honestly, I can't remember the last time we got swept, but it was probably against Arizona... Ardon went 6.1 innings with 7 hits, 5 runs (3 earned), and 4 strikeouts. Jarred Taylor allowed 3 hits and 2 runs with 2 walks in an inning. Palban Gamboa was 1-for-4 with a two run homer. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Daylen Lile was 2-for-3 with a sac-fly. Well, that sucked... It's back home for three with the Braves before a day off. Now 2.5 ahead of the Phillies and 5 over Atlanta, we'll face Michael Doolin (1-0, 3.43 ERA), Ken Harty (10-1, 2.08 ERA), and Lucas Sims (6-6, 5.92 ERA). |

July 12th-July 18th
Sidenote: 10,000 views! That's awesome to see! I hope everyone who's been following closely, just checking in occasionally, or have happened to stumbled upon this thread have enjoyed reading this as much as I've enjoyed writing it! And here's to the next 10,000!
July 12th, 2027: Jarred Kelenic will head to the DL for about 5-6 weeks with a strained abdominal muscle. I called up LF Matt Hogan from AAA. Angels lefty Kris Bubic is out for the year with a torn ulnar collateral ligament. He tossed just 1 big league inning after finishing a rehab assignment from a torn elbow ligamnet last year. We dropped a spot to third in the Power Rankings. We're 55-33 and have a nice 2.5 game lead. We hosted the Braves with Jake Florence (8-5, 3.26 ERA, 1.24 WHIP) taking on Michael Doolin (1-0, 3.43 ERA, 0.76 WHIP). The Braves are scary, with their two, three, four all 4.5 or better The play wasn't good, and we lost the opener 9-2. Florence went 3 innings with 5 hits, 6 runs (5 earned), 6 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Cho-yeong Hyoun went 2 innings with a hit, 3 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Danny Niewald allowed a hit and run in 1.1 innings with 2 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers allowed 2 runs and 3 hits with a strikeout in the 9th. Chris Reid was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI's and a walk. Juan Ramirez and Mac Horvath were both 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored. July 13th, 2027: We looked to even the series with Devon Peterson (9-4, 4.96 ERA, 1.52 WHIP) taking on Ken Harty (10-1, 2.08 ERA, 0.88 WHIP), who I wish I held onto in the Mike Soroka deal... I wish I traded Ken Adeniran instead... Tied at three in the 9th, Chris Reid hit a walk-off double off Drew Smith, and we walked off 4-3 winners. Peterson went 6 innings with 6 hits, 3 runs, and 9 strikoeuts. The pen tossed 3 innings with a hit and a strikeout. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-4 with a double, run scored, RBI, and walk. Matt Hogan was 1-for-3 with a run scored and walk. Reid was 1-for-4 with a walk and the game winning double. Eric Kisela got a pinch hit, two run double in the 8th. Peterson was 1-for-2 with a double. July 14th, 2027: Former Marlin and current Angel LHP Garrett McDaniels is out for the year with a torn rotator cuff. He tossed just 3.2 big league innings in 2 starts, with a 12.27 ERA and 3.27 WHIP. Yikes. St. Louis sent 1B Triston Casas to the Nationals for RHP Logan Gilbert. It's a good deal for both teams. We looked to win the finale with Steve Paustian (7-5, 3.01 ERA, 1.21 WHIP) taking on Lucas Sims (6-6, 5.92 ERA, 1.48 WHIP) before an off day. It was a tight one, but we edged them 3-2 to battle back in the finale after they got 2 in the first. Paustian went 6.1 innings with 8 hits, 2 runs, a walk, and 7 strikeouts. Riley Ferrell got the win and Alpha Quivers struck out 2 in the 9th for the save. Daylen Lile was 2-for-4 with a run scored, RBI, and steal. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-2 with a run scored, 2 walks, and a steal. Juan Ramriez was 1-for-3 with a double and hit by pitch. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-2 with 2 RBI's, a walk, double, and sac-fly. July 15th, 2027: The Giants acquired 3B R.J. Teijeiro from the Phillies for LHP Steve Purpura and RHP Dave Jackson. I love this deal for the Phillies. We got to stay home before the Nats came to town for the final series before the All-Star Break. We'll see Kyle Molnar (7-8, 4.03 ERA), Cole Ragans (3-10, 4.53 ERA), and Sonny Warner (4-1, 3.00 ERA). July 16th, 2027: More trades, as the Pirates set RHP Nick Storz to the Athletics for CF Luis Guerrero. I like this deal for the Pirates. With the Nats in town, Ignacio Hinojos (4-3, 3.95 ERA, 1.27 WHIP) took on Kyle Molnar (7-8, 4.03 ERA, 1.35 WHIP) in the opener. Down 4-0, we got 4 in the 7th to tie up the game and eventually force extras. In the 14th, Victor Robles hit a solo homer off Hyoun, and the Nats evened their record at 47-47. Riley Ferrell left with a mild abdominal strain, but with the Break coming up, it's not worth DL'ing him. Hinojos went 5 innnings with 3 hits, 2 runs, 3 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Jarred Taylor allowed 3 hits and 2 runs with a walk and strikeout in 0.2 innings. Cho-yeong Hyoun went 2 innings with a hit, run, and 5 strikeouts. Chris Reid was 2-for-4 with a solo homer and 2 walks. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-6 with a double and run scored. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-6 with a two run homer. Daylen Lile was 2-for-6. Eric Kisela came off the bench and went 1-for-2 with a walk and RBI. July 18th, 2027: We looked to even the series back up with Luis Ardon (7-5, 2.82 ERA, 1.20 WHIP) taking on Cole Ragans (3-10, 4.53 ERA, 1.37 WHIP). They got 5 in the 2nd, and took this one 6-4 as we had to avoid the sweep tomorrow. Ardon went 4.1 innings with 6 hits, 5 runs, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Tylor Megill tossed 1.2 innings with 2 hits, a run, and a walk. Ferrell didn't let the injury bug him, 1.1 innings with 3 strikeouts, although he did walk 2. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Chris Reid was 1-for-4 with a two run homer. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Mac Horvath was 1-for-3 with a walk and double. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a double. July 18th, 2027: The All-Stars were announced today! Representing your Marlins, will be SP Steve Paustian, CL Alpha Quivers, and C Thomas Dillard (starting). It's the first for Paustian, second for Quivers, and 4th for Dillard. Now tied with Philly for first, we looked to avoid the sweep with Jake Florence (8-6, 3.58 ERA, 1.30 WHIP) taking on Sonny Warner (4-1, 3.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP). It was dissapointing, and we lost 3-1 to get swept at home by a mediocre team... Great way to enter the break... Even better, Daylen Lile left with an oblique strain and will miss 4 weeks. Yay... Florence went 5 with 4 hits, 3 runs (2 eraned), 3 walks, and 8 strikeouts. The pen tossed 4 innings with a walk and 6 strikeouts. Jarred Taylor tossed 1.2 of them with 3 strikeouts. Isaac Nunez had a solo homer. Jake Taylor was 1-for-3. That's all the offense... The Phillies lost too, so we'll head into the All-Star break 57-37 and tied for first place. July 19th-July 25th
July 19th, 2027: We dropped to 5th in the Power Rankings, and will start the All-Star Break 57-37.
I made a big deal with the A's, acquiring star CL Chad Scoles (95% retained) for SP Marc Bjork and 1B Gregorio Briones. Scoles, 30, is a 5* impending free agent who's spent his whole career with the A's since they selected him 9th overall. He has 216 career saves with a 2.85 ERA and a 1.040 WHIP to go with 674 strikeouts in 504.2 innings. He'd become the closer, with Quivers moving to setup. I sent an extension offer to him, one of the best closers in the game. I optioned Jarred Taylor to AAA. July 20th, 2027: The Red Sox CF Jeison Rosario will be out for the year with a torn labrum. He was hitting .275/.327/.421 with 9 homers and 41 RBI's in his first season with the Sox. I placed Riley Ferrell on the DL, since he suffered a setback. He should be back in 8 days (retroactive to the 18th). RF Jeremy Arocho is out for the year with a broken bone in his elbow. He was hitting .252 with a homer and 32 RBI's. The Marienrs acquired 3B Freudis Nova from the Rays for 2B Andrew Vaughn. I like this deal for both teams. The Cardinals acquired RF Micker Adolfo and RHP Jai Hutchesson from teh Cardinals for LF Tim Hannan and 1B Danny Canfield. I like this deal for both teams as well. Today is also the All-Star Game! Tampa's Brendan McKay (5-4, 2.16 ERA, 1.02 WHIP) Took on Atlanta's Ken Harty (10-1, 2.05 ERA, 0.90 WHIP). Thomas Dillard will hit 7th and catch. The AL won 5-2, and my new closer Chad Scholes got the save while representing the A's. Dillard was 0-for-2. Steve Paustian walked 3, allowed a hit, and struck out 1. Luis Alcantra tossed a perfect third. Alpha Quivers struck out the final two AL hitters. July 21st, 2027: I recalled RF Chad Avant from AAA. He's had a rough season in AAA, but he's the only outfielder on the 40. July 22nd, 2027: I made a small swap with the Red Sox, re-acquiring LF Cole Brannen for RF Chad Avant. I needed a nice backup outfielder, and I miss Brannen from his glory days. It's been rough for him, and after his 62 steal season in 2021, the most he got was last year with 38. The second half starts tomorrow, and we'd be in Milwaukee. We'll see Victor Mederos (5-5, 4.40 ERA), Shane Baz (2-4, 4.46 ERA), and Charlie Neeper (2-4, 4.82 ERA). July 23rd, 2027: Scholes will spend at least 2 more years in Miami, signing a 5-year deal with an opt-out after 2029. He will make $22 million the first two years, $24 million for 2030 and 2031, and then a 2032 option. I also recalled Jarred Taylor from AAA to fill the empty spot on the roster. Part two started with Jake Florence (8-7, 3.58 ERA, 1.30 WHIP) taking on Victor Mederos (5-5, 4.40 ERA, 1.38 WHIP). It was a great way to start games back up, and we got a nice easy 5-1 win. Florence went 7 innings with 3 hits, a run, walk, and 12 strikeouts. Scoles made his Marlins debut, striking out 2 in the 9th. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a two run homer. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-3 with a triple, run scored, and hit by pitch. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-3 with a RBI, steal, and walk. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. Chris Reid was 1-for-4 with a run scored. July 24th, 2027: We looked to take the second game of the series with Devon Peterson (9-4, 4.93 ERA, 1.49 WHIP) taking on Alfredo Rivera (7-4, 4.73 ERA, 1.26 WHIP). Another beautiful pitching performance, and we won 6-1. Peterson almost went the distance, 8.1 innings with 5 hits, a run, walk, and 7 strikeouts. Cho-yeong Hyoun only needed four pitches to get the final two outs. Palban gamboa was 3-for-3 with 2 runs, an RBI, a double, and walk. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-4 with a RBI and steal. Mac Horvath was 2-for-4 with a walk and RBI. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. Chris Reid was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Cole Brannen was 1-for-4 with a run scored, RBI, and steal in his 2027 Marlins debut. July 25th, 2027: The Indians sent RHP Aaron Slegers and SS Davon Brundridge to the Cardinals for 1B Miguel Sano. I like this deal for the Cardinals. We looked to sweep the Crew with Ignacio Hinojos (4-3, 3.93 ERA, 1.27 WHIP) taking on Shane Baz (2-4, 4.46 ERA, 1.46 WHIP). We couldn't finish it, and they topped us 7-5 to salvage the finale at home. Hinojos had a rough outing, 2.2 innings with 6 hits, 4 runs, a walk, and 3 strikeouts. Tylor Megill tossed 2.1 innings with a hit, run, and 5 strikeouts. Jarred Taylor allowed 2 runs and 3 hits with 2 strikeouts in an inning. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. Matt Hogan was 2-for-4 with 2 runs, an RBI, hit by pitch, and steal. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-4 with a walk and run scored. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with a sac-fly and 2 RBI's. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with 2 RBI's. Rays RF Tim Green extended his hit streak to 20 games. Angels LF Pete Crow-Armstrong went 5-for-5 in an 8-5 win over the Athletics. We're off to Colorado for four, where we'll see Eric Warren (3-5, 5.92 ERA), A.J. Puk (7-4, 3.74 ERA), Forrest Whitley (5-5, 3.41 ERA), and Juan Coira (10-5, 4.22 ERA). |

July 26th-August 1st
July 26th, 2027: Toronto will be without SP MacKenzie Gore for the season with a damaged elbow ligament. He'll likely miss most of next year as well, and struggled in his first season with the Blue Jays. He went 8-7 with a 5.56 ERA and struck out 121 in 115 innings.
We moved up to 3rd in the Power Rankings, but are now a game out of first. Three trades were made today, with CF Enrique Bradfield foinf grom Arizona to San Diego and RHP Jeff Slezak going the other way. It's a fair trade. The White Sox acquired RHP Keiron Emberey from the Diamondbacks from RHP's Chris Komar and Mike Steele. I like this deal for Arizona. The Cubs acquired RHP Pedro Araujo and LF Branden Cook from the Pirates for RHP Rogelio Rosales. This is a pure salary dump. We opeend the long series in Coors field with Steve Paustian (7-5, 3.00 ERA, 1.23 WHIP) taking on Eric Warren (3-5, 5.92 ERA, 1.33 WHIP). Tied at five after nine, we had to take it to extras. In the 10th, Thomas Dillard hit a two run homer off Sam Howard, and we took the opener 7-5. Paustian went 5.2 innings with 5 hits, 3 runs (2 earned), and 5 strikeouts. Matt Hogan got a hold, 2 runs in 0.1 innings with 4 htis. Chad Scholes got the win, an inning with a strikeout. Jarred Taylor got the save, striking out 2 in the 10th. Dillard was 2-for-3 with the two run homer and two hit by pitches as well as a stolen base. Palban Gamboa was 2-for-5 with 2 runs, a triple, 3 RBI's, and a homer. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a run scored and RBI. Mac Horvath was 1-for-5 with a double and run scored. Jake Taylor had a pinch hit double in the 10th, and scored the go-ahead run. July 27th, 2027: The Nationals will be without recently acquired Logan Gilbert for the rest of the year with a torn flexor tendon. Likely to miss most of next year as well, he made just 2 starts and tossed 4.2 innings with the Nationals. We looked to hit the red hot A.J. Puk (7-4, 3.74 ERA, 1.19 WHIP) who would do battle with Luis Ardon (7-6, 3.15 ERA, 1.23 WHIP). Puk stayed hot, and they evened the series with a 3-2 win. Ardon went 5 innings with 7 hits, 3 runs, 5 walks, and 2 strikeouts. The pen tossed 3 innings with 3 hits and 3 strikeouts. Jhon Solarte was 2-for-2 with a double and a walk. Jake Taylor was 1-for-4 with a double and RBI. Matt Hogan was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Mac Horvath was 2-for-5. July 28th, 2027: I desiganted Tylor Megill for assignment, and activated Riley Ferrell from the DL. We looked to jump back in front with Jake Florence (9-7, 3.45 ERA, 1.26 WHIP) taking on Forrest Whitley (5-5, 3.41 ERA, 1.32 WHIP). We couldn't limit the offense, and they owned us 9-3. Florence tossed 5 innigns with 8 hits, 4 runs, 4 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Matt Hogan, who is now no logner a two-way player, allowed 4 runs in 2 innings with a walk and 2 strikeouts. Juan Ramirez was 3-for-4 with a double, steal, and walk. Mac Horvath was 2-for-5 with an RBI. Chris Reid was 1-for-3 with a walk and two run homer. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored. Florence was 1-for-1 with a sac-bunt. July 29th, 2027: In an effort to boost the pen some more, I acquired former Marlin Victor Arano from the Brewers for RP Ernesto Estrella and 2B Nate Bell. Arano, 32, will take over the 8th inning job. Rated a 4.5*, the impending free agent has a 2.84 ERA and 1.08 WHIP with 19 saves and 52 strikeouts. The Nationals acquired 2B Willi Castro and RF Luis De Valle from the Rays for RHP Kyle Molnar. It's a fair trade. We looked to finish the series with a split, as Devon Peterson (10-4, 4.64 ERA, 1.43 WHIP) got Jeison Coira (10-5, 4.22 ERA, 1.22 WHIP). It took 13 innings, but Cornelius Randolph hit a walk off single off Jarred Taylor and the Rox won 2-1. Peterson tossed 5.1 shutout innings with 4 hits, 3 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers blew the save, 2 hits and a run with a walk and strikeout in an inning of work. Taylor got the loss, 2 walks, a run, and a hit in 0.2 innings. Jhon Solarte was 2-for-3. Palban Gamboa was 2-for-6 with a solo homer. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-5 with a double and hit by pitch. Juan Ramirez was 3-for-5 with a walk. Mac Horvath was 1-for-4 with 2 walks. We're headed home for three with the Pirates, as the deadline approaches. We'll see Ken Haugen (5-6, 3.68 ERA), Mike West (6-6, 4.86 ERA), and Caleb Barnsley (0-0, 4.50 ERA). July 30th, 2027: The Astros acquired RF Jeff Aimone from the Angels for RHP D.J. Myers and RHP Danny Lain. It's a good deal for the Astros. Chris Reid has food poisioning, and will miss 3 days. I tired really hard to find a trade I liked, but I couldn't find anything. More will be done tomorrow... We opened the series hosting the Pirates with Ignacio Hinojos (4-4, 4.25 ERA, 1.31 WHIP) looking to turn things around against Ken Haugen (5-6, 3.68 ERA, 1.19 WHIP). We couldn't win the opener against the awful Pirates, as Chad Scholes allowed 3 unearned runs in the 9th. Yay... And to make things better, Thomas Dillard left with an injury... Hinojos had a weird stat line, 8 walks and 7 strikeouts in 4.1 innings with 2 hits and 2 runs. Scoles allowed just 2 hits and the 3 unearned runs... Cole Brannen launched a pinch hit two run homer in the 8th that tied up the game at two. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a steal. Dillard was 1-for-3 with the hit by pitch that knocked him out of the game. Green's hit streak is up to 25 games! Mariners SP Dave Capetillo tossed a 3-hit shut out in a 7-0 win over the Twins. He struck out 9 and walked just 1. July 31st, 2027: Happy deadline day! Two big injuries before the trade news. RHP Brad Roney of the Mariners will miss the remainder of the year with radial nerve compression. Giants RHP Stiward Aquino has a bone spur in his elbow that will cost him the rest of the season. The Pirates sent RHP Steve Martin and 3B Dan Owen to the Cubs for 1B Kevin Martin. It's a good deal for the Pirates. The Jays acquired RHP Alex Cunningham from the Indians for SS Zack Prajzner and 1B Juan Herrera. I like this deal for the Indians. The Orioles aquired SS Isaac Rodriguez and 1B Manuele Vivarini from the Reds for LHP Cullen Dana. I like this deal for the Reds, but it's a fair one. My turn... And I couldn't find anything... We looked to even the series with Steve Paustian (7-5, 3.01 ERA, 1.21 WHIP) taking on Mike West (6-6, 4.86 ERA, 1.44 WHIP). I think we suck, and we lost 6-1. At home. To the now 43-60 Pirates... Paustian allowed 5 runs in 6 innings wtih 6 hits, 3 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Jarred Taylor allowed a run in 0.1 innings with 2 hits and a strikeout. Eric Kisela was 2-for-4. Mac Horvath was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Jake Taylor was 1-for-3 with a run scored and a double. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-3 with a steal and walk. Don't panic... August 1st, 2027: Thomas Dillard fractured his finger, and will head to the DL for 4-5 weeks. That means catcher of the future Jackson Miller will be recalled to make his big league debut. I also optioned Taylor to AAA and added Megill back to the active roster. Washington will have a bigger loss, losing star 3B Tanner Kohlhepp for the year with a ruptured medial collaeral ligament. The 28-year-old was hitting .293 with 25 homers and 59 RBI's. We looked to avoid the pitiful sweep with Luis Ardon (7-7, 3.26 ERA, 1.29 WHIP) taking on Caleb Barnsley (0-0, 4.50 ERA, 0.83 WHIP) who is making just the 2nd start of his career. Jackson Miller will hit fifth and catch in his MLB debut. He's probably the 4th best hitter in the lineup... Luckily, we salvaged the finale with a 5-2 win. Ardon went just 4 innings with 4 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Not sure why he was pulled with just 80 pictches... Cho-yeong Hyoun got the win, 2 innings with 2 hits, a run, walk, and strikeout. Alpha Quivers and Victor Arano earned holds. Not sure where Scholes was for the save, but no one got a save. Jhon Solarte was 2-for-4 with a double, run scored, and 2 RBI's. Miller was 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored in his debut. Eric Kisela was 1-for-3 with a double, walk, and run scored. Palban Gamboa was 1-for-3 with a two run, two out double, and a walk. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with an RBI double. Tim Green's hit streak was ended at 26. Hopefully August will be better then the pitiful 10-15 July, as we welcome the last place and 53-51 Mets for four. We'd see Brady Singer (7-8, 3.70 ERA), Noah Syndergaard (6-3, 2.48 ERA), Livio Montella (4-9, 4.72 ERA), and Mashiaro Tanaka (7-7, 4.07 ERA). Last edited by ayaghmour2; 08-02-2018 at 01:14 AM. |

August 2nd-August 8th
August 2nd, 2027: Greensboro RF Alfredo Gamez won South Atlantic Player of the Week. He hit .522 with 2 homers and 7 RBI's.
We dropped to 5th in the Power Rankings. At 61-43, we are 4.5 games out of first. Yay... We opened the series against the Mets with Jake Florence (9-8, 3.67 ERA, 1.30 WHIP) taking on Brady Singer (7-8, 3.70 ERA, 1.17 WHIP) as we looked to make up ground in the division race. I don't think any team had a bat today, and we won a pitiiful 1-0 game. Florence was great, 6 innings with 3 hits, 2 walks, and 6 stirkouets. Alpha Quivers and Riley Ferrell got holds and Chad Scholes got the save. After two singles, Scholes ended up striking out the side for the first of likley many Marlins saves. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-4. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-2 with a walk and steal. Jackson Miller was 1-for-3 with the only run scored. August 3rd, 2027: Game two of four saw Devon Peterson (10-4, 4.42 ERA, 1.42 WHIP) who has pitched well of late, take on Noah Syndergaard (6-3, 2.48 ERA, 0.97 WHIP). More good pitching for the staff, and we won 4-1. Peterson tossed a gem, 7.1 innings with 3 hits, a run, a walk, and 7 strikeouts. Scholes got another save, an inning with a hit and strikeout. Palban Gamboa was 1-for-3 with a walk and three run homer. Mac Horvath was 2-for-3 with 2 runs, a walk, and double. Chris Reid was 2-for-4 with a double and RBI. Jon Reid was 1-for-3 with a run scored. August 4th, 2027: San Diego will be without SS Michael Perez for the year with a torn ACL. He's not a big part of the team, hitting just .188 this year. We look to keep rolling with Ignacio Hinojos (4-4, 4.25 ERA, 1.37 WHIP) taking on Livio Montella (4-9, 4.72 ERA, 1.38 WHIP). With a lineup full of backups, just Horvath, Reid, and Hardamon from the Opening Day lineup, we toppled the Mets 7-2. Hiojos went 5.2 innings with 5 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and 11 strikeouts. Danny Niewald and Victor Arano both got holds. Arano struck out 3 in 1.2 innings with a hit. Jhon Solarte went 3-for-4 with a double, 2 runs, and 3 RBI's. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a two run double. Cole Brannen was 1-for-3 with a run scored, double, and sac-fly. Jon Reid was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Chris Reid was 1-for-2 with a walk and run scored. August 4th, 2027: The recently promoted Pirates righty Greg Sankoh will be out for the year with a torn UCL. His first 2 innings have been rough, allowing 5 htis, 4 runs, and a walk with 2 strikeouts. We looked to finish the sweep (still 4 out since the Phillies don't lose...) with the red hot Steve Paustian (7-6, 3.21 ERA, 1.22 WHIP) taking on Mashiaro Tanaka (7-7, 4.07 ERA, 1.28 WHIP). We got four in the first and finished a nice home sweep with an 8-2 win. Paustian allowed an unearned run and 5 hits in 6 innings with a walk and 8 strikeouts. Cho-yeong Hyoun went 2 innings with 2 hits, a run, 2 walks, and a strikeout. Chris Reid was 2-for-4 with 2 runs, 3 RBI's, and a homer. Jackson Miller was 2-for-4 with 2 runs and a double. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-4 with a run scored, a double, and 3 RBI's. Mac Horvath was 2-for-3 with a run scored, walk, sac-bunt, and RBI. Matt Hogan was 1-for-3 with a hit by pitch, steal, walk, run scored, and RBI. Palban Gamboa was 1-for-3 with a run scored and 2 walks. The Indians will come to town for three before we have a day off. We'll see Josh Luzius (2-2, 3.41 ERA), Caden Monke (0-2, 6.48 ERA), and Daniel Norris (2-8, 7.58 ERA). Before I continue, check out how good the Phillies are: At 69-39, they have won 6 in a row and 9 of the last 10. They have the best record in the league, and one of the best offenses in the recent past, leading the NL in everything except ectra base hits, homers, and steals (which is the only category we lead). August 6th, 2027: We opened the Indians series with Luis Ardon (7-7, 3.22 ERA, 1.29 WHIP) taking on Josh Luzius (2-2, 3.41 ERA, 1.29 WHIP). Another great pitching outing, and we topped Cleveland 3-1. I think our rotation is planning on caring us to another ring... Ardon tossed 6.1 innings with 2 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 8 strikeouts. Luis Alcantra and Alpha Quivers got holds before Chad Scholes picked up the save. Deshawn Hardamon went 2-for-4 with a double and run scored. Jhon Solarte was 2-for-3 with a run scored and 2 RBI's. Jackson Miller was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Mac Horvath was 1-for-3 with a walk and RBI. Palban Gamboa was 1-for-3 with a walk. August 7th, 2027: We looked to keep winning with Jake Florence (10-8, 3.50 ERA, 1.28 WHIP) taking on Caden Monke (0-2, 6.48 ERA, 1.68 WHIP). Our perfect August ended with a 7-2 loss. Florence went 5 innings with 6 hits, 4 runs, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Riley Ferrell allowed 2 runs and 2 hits with a strikeout. Danny Niewald went 1.1 innings with a hit, run, and walk. Jon Reid was 2-for-4 with 2 doubles and a run scored. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-4 with a solo shot. Cole Brannen was 2-for-4. August 8th, 2027: We looked to take the finale with Devon Peterson (11-4, 4.23 ERA, 1.37 WHIP) taking on Daniel Norris (2-8, 7.58 ERA, 1.80 WHIP). Up 2-1 in the 9th, Chad Scholes allowed a two run homer to Nolan Jones, who hit a solo shot in the 7th, and we lost 3-2. Nice... Worst thing is, I've been complaining about a 66-45 team like they are 45-66... Peterson went 7 innings with 2 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Luis Alcantra and Victor Arano got holds in the 8th, with Alcantra striking out both hitters he face. Scles allowed 2 hits and 2 runs with a walk and 2 strikeouts. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-3 with a walk, double, and RBI. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-4 with 2 doubles, a run scored, and RBI. Juan Ramirez and Cole Brannen were both 1-for-4. Baltimore's Luke Leto launched three homers in a 7-3 win against the Mariners. Jumbo Shrimp 2B Antoni Flores hit for the cycle in a 12-3 win over the Jackson Generals. I acquired him in the offseason, but he was eventually a 40-man casualty. We get tomorrow off before heading to Pittsburgh! |

August 9th-August 15th
Sidenote: I'm going to be on vacation from today until Monday, so I might not have too many posts until then
August 9th, 2027: We bounced up to 4th in the Power Rankings. At 66-45, we're 4 games out of first. We got today off and will head to Pittsburgh. We'll see Ken Haugen (5-7, 3.55 ERA), Mike West (7-7, 4.47 ERA), and Eric Crawford (3-2, 3.72 ERA). August 10th, 2027: White Sox righty Mike Vasil is out for the year with radial nerve compression. He finished the year 0-2 with 6 saves and a 4.50 ERA. We opened the series at PNC Park with Ignacio Hinojos (5-4, 4.18 ERA, 1.36 WHIP) taking on Ken Haugen (5-7, 3.55 ERA, 1.15 WHIP). Hinojos has struggled of late, and I wasn't able to acquire a starter to replace him, but today was a solid outing, and we took the opener 4-2. Hinojos went 6.2 innings with 4 hits, 2 runs, a walk, and 9 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers got the hold before Chad Scoles got the save. Palban Gamboa was 2-for-4 with a walk. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-3 with a triple, run scored, walk, and RBI. Jackson Miller was 1-for-3 with 2 runs, a walk, and steal. Chris Reid was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Mac Horvath was 1-for-4 with a walk and run scored. August 11th, 2027: We looked to take the series a game early with the red hot Steve Paustian (8-6, 3.07 ERA, 1.21 WHIP) taking on Mike West (7-7, 4.47 ERA, 1.38 WHIP). Both guys have pitched against the opposing team, with West tossing a gem and Paustian struggling. We kept rolling with a 4-2 victory, despite Paustian's rocky start. He went 6.1 innings with 5 hits, 2 runs (1 earned), 6 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers got a hold and Chad Scoles the save. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-4 with homer and 2 RBI's.
