July 3rd 1901 Update
Cleveland has stumbled of late, but still have a five game lead. In the National League, the Superbas are still hot at 48-18. Rube Waddell is 18-4 to pace Brooklyn.

Senators have won 10 straight to claw their way up the standings. Cy Young (13-6, 2.78) was named Pitcher of the Month for June. And Ed Delahanty (.371, 2 HR, 31 RBIs) was named the June Batter of the Month.

July 24th Update
Brooklyn has been cooled off a bit, but still has a six game lead over Boston. The Athletics are inching their way closer to Cleveland, thanks to Washington

Senators made a dent in Cleveland's lead, by sweeping a three game series. Christy Mathewson, at one point was 0-7, has bounced back to 10-11. Cy Young has won 7 straight games.

August 11th 1901 Update
The lead in the National League got wider as Boston faltered. Brooklyn now leads by 12.5 games. At this point in the season it is a game of trying to catch the leaders.

September 1st 1901 Update
The last time the league had a Triple Crown winner was in the 1888 season when James Burke done the feat. This season, Rube Waddell has possibility of doing the same feat.

Detroit continues to lead the American League, despite being recently shut out by Senators' Christy Mathewson. Over in the National League, the top leader keeps changing.
Pittsburgh is now on top with a surging Cardinals and New York getting their act together.

The same two team lead both league, but it is getting crowded at the top. Athletics are a single game back of Detroit. While Pittsburgh has a two game lead over the New York Giants.

The Pittsburgh Pirates were looking to pull away in the National League. New York went on a free fall, 3-7 in August so far. But the Philadelphia Phillies are taking on the Pirates
with a 3-1 series win. The Athletics overcame the Tigers in the American League. Detroit was swept in their most recent match up.

The New York Giants got back into the National League race. 8-2 in their last 10 games to stand at 3 in back of the Pirates. The American League race is still up for grabs as Detroit and
Philadelphia are tied for the league, with Washington and Baltimore 5 games back.
