Final 2 games
Editor's Note: There were actually a pair of games left around the corner in Sept. The Parrots split the two games, after winning the final game of August against the Sea Gulls. No change on the batting crown finish. 17 W's the top's for pitching. Sorry, for the oversight. Sometimes these young writers get a little excited and forget to turn the page of their calendars.
Same for the Vigilantes so the standing end up like this:

AA Game 1 Playoffs
We committed 3 errors accounting for 3 unearned which is exactly the amount of run differential that would have won for us. At the same time, the Archers gave us 3 runs. So, not a defensive gem, by any definition.
We'll need to bounce back tomorrow. I went 1 for 4 and committed an error.

AA Game 2 Playoffs
Twice we had leads, once by 4 runs, but each time the Archers roared back. Zero errors for the Parrots, but, NINE walks and 13 hits are not the recipe for a W. Tough to lose two at home.
OK, I'll get my shot on the mound next game.

AA Game 3 Playoffs
Here is an excerpt from our Martinique Newspaper, post-game 3.
Reporter: Did you have your best stuff this evening? JH: Not by a longshot. Reporter: But, 7 K's is pretty good, Julien. Right? JH: They were nice. But, the 6 BB's. So, yeah, plus one. Reporter: Describe what you are feeling now that game 3 is in the books. JH: I'm ecstatic. We won a big game and now we're back in it. Reporter: Will Benoit start you in center tomorrow? Or, bench you as he usually does after you pitch? JH: That's a question for our skip. Reporter: Good luck tomorrow, Julien JH: Thanks

Aveze, France
Since we just arrived the night before the game, and it being a pitching day for me the next, I'm a bit late in my information for the paper.
I wanted to show our fans just a glimpse of this wonderful French town. Here is our hotel, and, one of the town streets. And, the ball park. We'll be playing game 4 tonight. It's big. If we win, we equalize the series and reclaim the home field advantage.

Game 4 AA Playoffs
The score was close 8-7, but, I feel like the Archers are just out playing us. Legendre came up big for us going 3 for 4. Luis Balbuena walked 10 Archers and that was pretty much the story. Skip put me in CF to start. I went 1 for 5 with a single.

Archers having a good series
Imbert (no surprise) and Martin (some surprise) are having a good series with the bat.

Game 5 Preview
With our backs against the wall, we'll try and win this final game in Aveze so we can return to Martinique. We'd love to do it for our fans, but, mostly ourselves.

Match ups for the game 6
Here are the scheduled SP's. I'm currently slotted to start game 7 if we can extend the series.

Game 6 AA Playoffs
In the end, we were not good enough when it mattered. Losing in 11 innings after leading in the 9th, at home, is a bitter pill to swallow. Coach Benoit said after the game, "Don't worry about it, lads. You are going to lose a lot more close games like this in your careers before they end. Get used to it! Learn how to come back stronger. You got some good experience this year and it will go along way towards your preparation for bigger games than this one."
Not sure why the skip didn't start me in the final game. I did not ask. I respect his choices. He did put me in the game as pinch hitter. I walked all 3 times at the plate and scored one run. We stranded 16 runners. Well, tomorrow is another day as they say.

The Playoff Tree Results for all FBL levels
Here is how the 1963 season concluded. Some great playoff action. The team we lost to in AA went on to win the championship against the Mad Catz.

Would loved to have seen Julien pitch game 7. Amazing 2nd half of the season for the Parrots. J.H. likely to be in Le Marin next year so it will be the Waveriders that he writes about in the future.

Top Skipper in FBL
Often, unsung, this years winner is from a Martinique franchise. Formerly, a bench coach, Xavier scores big as a rookie manager.

Canada snags POY Award
Two time FBL champion Daniel Tardieu claims an individual award, and a prestigious one, at that.
