This type of baseball league does not interest me... I like leagues that resemble real baseball in league names, town names and nicknames.

As you know from dealing with my quirks the last two years, I'm not into weird town names with weird nicknames in weird leagues... I like Lions, Tigers, Indians, Yankees, Bears, Pirates and traditional names like that... a nickname has to have an "s" on it for me to use it... names like Power, Eclipse, Thunder and Action are not my cup of tea... nothing wrong with them... I just don't care for them myself in my leagues.

Sorry to be so set in my ways, but that's just me... luckily, I can play OOTPB my way with the team town names and nicknames that are in the traditional style of baseball.

Well, Culver City is real, and so are Hollywood and Burbank and Santa Monica. All in California, of course. For this league, I'd put the teams in the cities/towns the related shows were taped in or are being taped in, obviously.

So far, my proposed team names all have S's at the end of them, in terms of the nicknames, as you can probably confirm easily enough here. I might be able to do the Santa Monica Chasers, inspired by the American version of the British game show The Chase, but I'm not totally sure about that. Or at least I'm not yet, anyway. Finding the closest possible free font may be difficult, if I haven't already found it, but I'll try my best to approximate the show's text, of course, if and when I'm able to do such a team here.

Press Your Luck and Card Sharks-inspired teams may be hard to do here, mainly because of font-related matters, I think. But hopefully I and/or someone else will be able to do at least halfway decent work with such teams, at least, somehow.

Very well, then, if you don't have any game show-related suggestions for me and/or others here, that's fine. But I was wondering, at least, what your favorite game shows might have been when you were much younger than you are now, even thirty-some years ago when you were my age, circa 1987 or 1988, at least, more or less? If not even younger than that. That's all.

I'd also like to try and do a movie studio-themed league, but of course, I may still need help with that sort of idea, in truth, folks. Among other ideas I have for various teams and leagues, obviously, whether I can do anything related to them or not, that is.

First, though, let's see if we can't figure out how to do things with this proposed game show-themed baseball league, folks, if we can, somehow. I've done items related to three prospective teams for it so far, to the best of my current ability, but I still don't know if I'll be able to do items for six teams in a proposed league like this, to be completely honest with you all here.

With your permission, and with your help, I would like to try and make some team-related sets for the teams you're eliminating from your recreational leagues, so that anyone who may want to use those teams in their leagues in the future may perhaps be able to do so, Eugene. Sorry, CD... my memory ain't what it used to be back in my good old golden days of the 1940s and 1950s... don't remember or recollect much prior to 2000... I think the new millennium damaged my memory.

I enjoyed the $64,000 Quiz in the 50s... sadly, to increase ratings, they gave answers or hints to the questions prior to the show so they would have big-money winners... but we didn't know it at the time.

If I had been on the show I might have won it in the category of Sports or Baseball... I really knew my baseball as a teenager... I rarely missed a baseball or sports question on the show.

My family never missed You Bet Your Life with Groucho Marx in the 50s... he was one of the greatest comedians ever...especially great at ad-libbing... the contestants didn't play for much money... a few hundred dollars at most... a big part of the show was the secret word, a common everyday word that they would tell the TV audience at the beginning of the show and if one of the contestants used that word, a toy duck resembling Groucho—with eyeglasses and a mustache—descended from the ceiling to bring a $100 prize, which would then be divided equally between that segment's two-person team... but it was Groucho that you watch... he could say some very funny things.

Another favorite in the 50s and 60s was I've Got a Secret, hosted by the great Garry Moore with a really good panel of Bill Cullen, Henry Morgan, Faye Emerson and Jayne Meadows... the panel tried to determine a contestant's "secret": something that was unusual, amazing, embarrassing, or humorous about that person... Cullen and Morgan were very funny guys... Cullen went on to be a game-show host and star himself... the show ran until 1967.

That's about it... never was a fan of game shows after I finished high school... was too busy playing baseball and basketball to watch game shows on TV.

Okay, thank you for the information. Maybe I'll be able to make something inspired by those game shows later on, of course. Yes, I am aware of the game show-fixing scandal. It was a major thing about 60-70 years ago, which would probably explain a considerable dearth of game shows for a while until certain other shows began that could be monitored better and all, I think.

Too bad a lot of shows nowadays aren't as funny or as clean as many of the shows were back when you were younger, of course. You must have loved watching shows like Rawhide and Have Gun, Will Travel, for example, among others.

Match Game, for instance, might be a bit too out there for me, however, considering what many of the questions and related seem to have been like, from what I've been able to see of its episodes so far. But there are probably any number of other game shows around that are cleaner and all, of course, that may still have viewable content, if it hasn't been lost. Maybe games like Classic Concentration or Dick Clark's games, for instance, might be more up my alley for possible inspiration, I think. Don't you agree?

Hopefully, someone else will be able to help me with the proposed Hollywood-based teams, but we'll have to see here, of course. I think I have a decent enough look, though, for the prospective Santa Monica-based Chasers, which I will post here momentarily.

Some new uniforms and caps for the prospective Santa Monica Chasers in this proposed Game Show Baseball League will be in this post. I'll post the resized potential logos in the next post. As with the other logos already posted in this thread for the relevant game shows, I will claim no unwarranted and unlawful credit for them, et cetera, simply because the original picture from which the resized versions of the logo were derived are not of my own making, of course.

However, as far as resizing them to the appropriate sizes for potential legitimate and legal use by anyone in-game and choosing certain colors from them, at least to a degree, I will claim credit for that work, under fair use principles. It wasn't easy to pick the colors, mind you, but I was able to zoom in close enough in places to be able to do so, fortunately enough, folks.

With no further ado, then, here is what I currently have for the prospective Santa Monica Chasers baseball team in this proposed game show-themed league of sorts. Post 310 in this thread has been updated again to show everyone here just which game shows I've most likely completed work on well enough so far, or at least to a degree, if not perfectly well. All six prospective teams' looks for this proposed game show-themed baseball league so far have now been done, to the best of my ability here, however limited or however great it may be, in truth. While there are currently six teams put together for this proposed league, there may be room for teams inspired by other game shows to be included for it as well, depending on which ones they might be, and all.

The next two posts should show you all what I've made or resized so far in relation to a prospective team called the Hollywood Luck-Pressers. This time, the proposed team is inspired by the game show Press Your Luck. As with all the other original pictures used to come up with the appropriate potential team logos in the needed sizes, the only credit I will take for my work here with them is for resizing them and for picking colors from them to at least some degree, and nothing more than that, according to fair use principles.

As far as the creation of the required team uniforms and caps to this point, I claim them as my own original work, for sure. Although the font that I've just used for the text on them may not be 100 percent true to the actual font or fonts seen on the known real-life show's versions at any time, of course, folks.

That was a bit of a challenging concept for me to work on in such a short period of time, after Trebek's departure from this world, I think. But I still hope these items will actually look fairly good in people's games, just the same, of course.

If anyone decides to use them for a potential appropriately-themed league, starting around 1980 or 1985, at the earliest, I'd really appreciate it a great deal here if they'd take some screenshots or something, so I can see better what they might look like in-game sooner, of course. Thanks in advance to anyone who does so, of course.

In the meantime, I may eventually decide to create another sufficiently-related thread to them, so that they can be seen all together in one thread, hopefully without any other teams' items being posted to that thread that I've already done or will do that don't really fit the theme here, folks.
