PHOTO FOUND: William Gleason 1890 Cleveland Infants
No sooner was he lost than he was found.
I had a look on ancestry without much hope that we would find a photo of Gleason, who passed in 1893 due to consumption. But lo and behold, his ancestry.com page had a nice portrait of him, and since many other family members also had old-timey photos, I am left to assume that the photo is accurate. |

Darrell Brown 1981
A horrible photo in terms of getting any view of his face, but this does show Darrell Brown in a 1982 Oakland A's uniform. The action features his getting tagged out at home plate. The photo is from the Sacramento Bee of Sept. 9, 1982.

Wither the Vault?
Not knowing who drops by at this site, I figure it doesn't hurt to ask:
A lot of homebound people would have had a great deal of fun with those images with the world shiut down. Is NYC stlll a decree or two away lfrom allowing them to operate? |

Buck Rogers 1935
Sadly not an image of Rogers in Washington Senators garb, but this is a nice upgrade to the Facepack photo. It pictures Rogers as team captain of the 1935 University of Virginia baseball team.

Buck Rogers 1935
If an image of Buck Rogers in a Washington Senators' uni is desired, here's one, albeit not very good. It's from the Washington Evening Star of Sept. 14, 1935, in which they erroneously labelled him as Orville Rogers rather than Orlin Rogers.

Facepack Upgrade Needs
Here are some more players I haven't found sufficient Facepack images for. If anyone has anything better than what is currently featured by all means share!
Ben Rochefort Bill F. Conroy Bill Bolden Bill Dalrymple Bill Wolff Bob Brush Bob Larmore Brad Springer Larmore supposedly attended the University of Missouri but I have not been able to find him in any of the yearbooks. |

Bob Larmore
Not sure this is of any help, but here's a photo of Bob Larmore with Houston in the May 18, 1919 Houston Post.

William F. Conroy 1923
Both of these images come from the Washington Evening Star and both show him in the Washington Senators' uniform. The first is from the issue of April 16, 1923. The second (the pair of photos) is from the issue of March 15, 1923.

William Wolff 1902
William F. "Bill" Wolff is shown here in a Philadelphia Phillies uniform. The photo is from the Philadelphia Inquirer of April 19, 1903. I got the lead from Marc Okkonen's work as he prepared his book, 2000 CUPS OF COFFEE.

Brad Springer 1925
The image on the left is the original of the one used by Marc Okkonen for his book, 2000 CUPS OF COFFEE. The image on the right was one he gathered and considered for the book, but did not use. Both images were taken from team photos of the Cincinnati Reds.

Bill Bolden 1919
The photo on the left is from the St. Louis Globe-Democrat of March 20, 1920. It shows Bolden in a Cardinals uniform. I obtained the photo on the right from another collector years ago. That collector got the photo from a relative of Bolden. I don't know the identity of the uniform.
Looks like Retrosheet is mistaken in calling Bolden a right-handed batter (unless the newspaper reversed the negative). Last edited by Cusick; 10-04-2020 at 08:42 PM. Reason: Point out that Bolden is shown batting as a lefty. |
