Silver
A raucous race in Silver finds Sunday back on top. Today's August schedule is red-hot, with the Drivers facing second place Gear Terrace for 10 games, while the Warriors also add a 3-game set with third place South Holland.

Diamond League
Cary exerted their dominance with 5 straight wins over Paxville, who (despite most of their hitters still being in a major funk) actually had a reasonable month against anyone not called Cary
.Cary are pushing hard for the division crown, which is a safe place to be as Paxville are only just above relegation! Tough week for my OCD

Mad Brewers Maintain Mastery of OL G323
Silly's slight stumble to a 6-6 August renewed the hopes of Sonora High and Annandale However, neither the Broncs, who at 3-4 slipped back a bit, nor Atom Smashers, 10-8, were able to close the gap. Port Ruppert made up the most ground, going 9-4 to move into second, but the Mundys will head to the sidelines for September to root for a Silly collapse because the Rupperts' OL schedule is completed. The Mad Brewers have nine to play, including a season-ending home set against Sonora High. Annandale has a dozen left, while the Broncs have seven other contests besides their three against the Mad Brewers.

Silver
A solid month saw Sunday solidify their lead as Gear Terrace slipped down and HelthWyzer shot up to second.

Mad Brewer Leave No Doubt Who's in First in OL G323
Silly steamed through September at 5-1, then finished with a flourish, adding a three-game October sweep of Sonora High to claim an easy crown in G323. Port Ruppert remained in second, watching it from the bench. With six teams in the PT playoff mix, there will be at least two promotions to diamond.

Any Chance of Bronze .289 Standings?
If PT handled the friends list better, my Terra Incognita team would have given me entrée to take care of them, but...
Anyway, with five teams, we could crown an OL champ. If nothing shows, I'll check in on their playoffs later. There are three OL teams in the playoffs. Left Coast will be headed to silver for sure after posting the B289's best record. |

Diamond League
A hearty congratulations to the Cary Southpaws! A very strong showing from them in the second half.
Not great for everyone else, and Paxville's week of grimness culminated in them going down with an 82-80 record. But I think PT was the real loser this week. Good luck to Cary in the playoffs, they have at least as good a chance as anyone! |

A couple of thoughts...
Not having considered (oops) there could be a tie for the McCarthy or Wooden Spoons, and with Cary and Silly tied so far at .750 for the week, I guess most OL victories will be the tiebreaker for Silly. In keeping with the spirit of the Wooden Spoons, the tiebreaker there would seem to be least OL wins. However,I think that more triumphs over a larger sample, yet yielding the same percentage, would demonstrate more spoon-like performance, so that will be the tiebreaker if it's ever needed. Unless, of course, someone has a more logical way to settle it.
With silver (and, one would hope, bronze) still to be heard from, it could become academic. Just thought I'd mention it in case someone has a better idea. Last edited by Stanley Kuppchaser; 11-28-2021 at 10:53 AM. |

or just make it most OL games played for each tiebreaker there.... figure if your winning percentage is equal, you plowed a harder road to get there playing more games (whether harder to winning more games for the best pct; or losing more games for the worst )side note for career OL numbers: Congrats to Coney Island (1002) and Algoma (1000) for being the first to reach 1000 OL wins this season |

Until later...
Don't imagine there are any bronze standings coming, so until this afternoon/evening, good luck to those still playing. Actually, I may not wish good luck to my Rustlers because, with Asylum getting relegated, I may need both to help create some pull into bronze next week.

Syrups took the top team in the league the distance in the LDS, and stretched game 5 to extra innings but came up short.
Fair warning to Port Ruppert: they have been employing an opener-follower strategy (seems to mainly use a lefty opener of Lee or Haddix for an inning or two, then brings in Maddux/Gooden.... so if you have a significant bias in the lineup of lefty vs righty, you might want to do away with that and force your "vs Righty" lineup in any game that says Maddux/Smoltz/Gooden is the starter, as the actual starter will probably be a lefty opener |

Playoff update and next week's set up
Attached are the gold and silver playoff trees at this moment. In other OL team action, Lumberton is still alive in I349, San francisco is still alive in B366, and Boulder City and Left Coast are alive in B289. All those teams will move up a level. Next week's layout is below. Do your friends list thing well, folks. Diamond will only have three team, but hopefully they'll polay each other enough.
Oh, and thanks for the heads up Jason, but, to be honest, if my team isn't playing another OL team I don't check up on them. Diamond - Carey, Seattle, Port Ruppert Gold - Algoma, Coney Island, Lemp Ave., Brooklyn, Nowhere, Knockemstiff, Annandale, Sunday, HelthWyzer, Waffletown, Sonora High, Silly Silver - Inland Empire, West Burlington, Gettysburg, Gear Terrace, New York, Shinbone, Otsego Lake, Lass Vegas, Daytona Beach, Sugar Hill, Keystone, San Francisco, Left Coast, South Holland, Baltimore, Cleveland, Boulder City Bronze - Asheboro, Asylum, Bluffton, Lumberton, Route 66, Shoebox, Boston, Terra Incognita, Iron Maiden (?) Iron - Hartford Guess I'll handle bronze, unless my teams get put into separate leagues. ![]() I believe this is correct, but do check. Back in a couple of hours to hand out hardware.
