Here's another option for Wieneke, who pitched for a month with the White Sox and was notable for giving up a long home run to Babe Ruth. Despite this, I could not find a single image of him in the Chicago papers. So here he is with the 1922 Buffalo team.

The photo comes from the Daily Illinois State Register, a Springfield, Illinois, newspaper. The date was June 2, 1921. Weineke had been pitching for a semi-pro team in Springfield called the Illinois Sangamos. He's shown in that uniform. He had only lost one game in 1921 for that team, and he went directly to the White Sox from there. I've attached a news clipping showing that he (with his name misspelled) went from Springfield to the Sox on June 15.

I'm not sure if anyone was clamoring for this guy, but I thought the Remini app did a nice job on his 1953 Bowman card.

Also, to answer Jabez, the app typically does not handle newspaper images too well. I tried to run that image through it and the results were not good enough to post.

This is in response to a request for an improved image of this player. This is not a great photo, but may be a marginal improvement. It shows him with the Omaha Buffaloes minor league team. It's from the Omaha World Herald of May 1, 1921.
