So... what's the verdict on the Jake Smith - left or right photo?

Great updates on the Hughson and Schnell !!

The left is the Remini enhanced image that more clearly defines what is pictured on the right. Also, the 1881 Troy team photo was heavily doctored over the years so the fact that Evans came out so well was shocking to me.
Thanks for the positive feedback!

Oops... I meant regarding to Jake J. Smith... which is the real Jake - L or R...

Yes, I love how you are able to utilize the Remini treatment on Jake Evans which has improved tremendously!

My apologies for misreading that. Smith is definitely pictured on the right. The left, while it possibly could be him, is of dubious origin.

The photo at Baseball-Reference is of Tony Smith and the photo I found is from the 1911 Toronto Maple Leafs of the Eastern League and is on page 252 of the 1912 Reach Guide.

Great work, Dto7! I was convinced this wasn't Jake Smith, and now it is confirmed.

As to the image I'm using for the Facepack, I think the one I submitted is a little easier to discern the facial features.

Jake Jacobs 1960

Jacob's OYW card is given the Remini treatment with decent results.

Jake Northrop 1918

Facepack upgrade, pictured at the beginning of the 1918 season with Indianapolis. A short time later, Boston called him up as a 30 year old rookie. Photo was printed in the April 26th, 1918 edition of The Indianapolis News.
The previous Facepack image features Northrop nearly 10 years earlier while in college.

Zeke Bella 1957

Bella's 1959 Topps card gets the Remini treatment. Not perfect but turned out pretty well.

Bill Voss 1965

As I have yet to see any Angels photos of Voss come out of the Topps Vault, here's a Remini enhanced version of his 1970 card.

James Harris 1884

Does anyone have a reference for the attached newspaper image of James Harris? I couldn't find anything in my searches and am just trying to verify his identity.

I don't have any source detail for that image, but it was shared here without source detail in 2007 by UKBaseballfan.

That image also appears in a story about Frank Harris which is linked from Harris's BR Bullpen page. The image in the Baseball History Daily story is in the style of NY Clipper player portraits, but the story doesn't list the image source and I don't have my copy of the Clipper biographies in front of me right now to confirm.

Thanks, that's very helpful. It makes me nervous when they don't even have the correct name. That article goes through quite a few details, including how and when he died, whereas Baseball Reference has none of that. I wonder if we have the right guy...
