It's a shame that the game can't balance the levels better. I would love the leagues to consistently be more competitive. Last week's BFF/OL Diamond league was very even and quite largely decided by RNG. The net result? 10 teams relegated. No wonder this week's Gold is a bit mad!

The Shiners stayed hot and have a handy little lead for when the L's come.

New logo for Seattle. They're transitioning to a more Seattle-y team, so not too many crazy base stealers are gonna be left next week.
I couldn't find the logo that the Mariners used in the tribute game to the NL Steelheads, but I think this is the same font. |

Diamond League
It's worth a midweek update to showcase two things. Firstly, Cary are purring like a well tuned V12 and they seem to be in a strong division too. (Maybe the Diamond Series will be between the Cary Southpaws and the Gary Southshores?) Secondly, this week's 'normal' league makes last week look like even more of a farce!
And, please, may Seattle never again darken Diamond's door. |

Ouch!
Just thought I'd check up on the Mundys to see if they needed any tweaking. Unless the tweaking finger is poised above a button to something nuclear, there is no amount of tweaking that will help. Port Ruppert started out the season by winning five straight. Uh, they have not maintained that blazing clip, unless one is referring to a dumpster fire. They have ripped through to the bottom of league, at a pace that would embarrass the '62 Mets, putting up a tidy 17-60 record since game six. Well, at least I needn't bother to check again until Sunday, to make sure that my friends list includes all the teams in gold, if that still makes a difference in PT these days.

Sugar Hill takes over. Lots of teams headed to Bronze unless they turn it around.

Knockemstiff now holding a very slender lead after a strong month from Silly.

Sugar Hill enjoying some baseball delight as they strengthen their stranglehold on Silver. Five of six divisions are led by OL teams.

Knockemstiff recovered a bit of a lead again with a good month. Could be a frantic finish!

NC Central is a hot potato game that no one apparently wants to win, as Waffletown leads the division with a red hot 64-69 record (.481) ![]() if this keeps up, it means one of two things.... the sub-500 Syrups will go down in spectacular fashion in 3 straight games in the LDS.... or.... knowing PT and how funky the RNG can get... the sub-500 Syrups will go on a tear in the post season and win the series for the first time since 2030

Sugar Hill has Silver wRapped up...pretty much. Haven't figured out what their OL magic number is (it's 2 in non-OL), but it has to be low. The Gang has 21 OL games left, but have dominated everyone.
Six OL teams are currently in a relegation spot. |

enjoying the absurdity of this final divisional race still up for grabs (as every other playoff spot has already been claimed), as two worse-than-mediocre teams slow-walk towards the finish to see who is forced to keep playing after game 162 and who gets to go home and forget this year ever happened.... what's truly sad is, the potential that every other team (including the 2 wild card teams) in this conference could have 100+ wins, which means the top seed will play a 100+ win wild card team, while the second best team gets to play a sub-500 dead-from-the-neck-up bunch of slackers who would struggle to defeat the squad from the School of the blind

Congrats to Cary on another excellent season in Diamond and I really wish them luck in the playoffs again, though there may be OL in Diamond next week to fall back on.
Bit of a nasty week for Port Ruppert and Seattle, but they both avoided being the worst team! |

Congratulations to the Knockemstiff Shiners!
We've got 2 guaranteed promotions, but Paxville are about due to lose to the Fighting Chickens. We'll see... The AC West scored 128 more wins than the NC Central, but we have the classic PT cliché of only 1 of them being able to go up. Tough week for the relegated teams. Hopefully Gold will be a bit more balanced when they bounce back up. Good luck in the playoffs, and let's see if either of Jason's predicted scenarios play out! (I'm guessing that Silly are hoping for scenario A )

Playoff Outlook
OL is well represented in the PT post season. Silver will wait for Rev McGator's report. Besides that and the five listed above, here's how it sets up:
D-357 - Cary G313 - Brooklyn B352 - Asylum, which also has a ticket back to silver. B338 - Boston, Bluffton, Lumberton, and Shoebox all make it in. There could be an OL World Series. Too bad there will be no report from bronze, it seems. B291 - Iron Maiden I342 - Hartford Last edited by Stanley Kuppchaser; 12-05-2021 at 08:19 AM. |

it's the ultimate perfect setup for the PT RNG headshaker finish..... EVERY playoff team except the anemic 80-82 Syrups have 100+ wins, so I must be destined to win it all

I think OL/BFF is going to serve us up with plenty of quirks from now on, so I'm just gonna try to embrace it the rest of the way! |
