Jim Stroner 1929

From the Pegasus UIN files, here's Stroner during Spring Training with the Pirates in 1929. His picture was printed on March 12, 1929 in the Kenosha News.

Jim T. Walsh 1921

There were quite a few Jim Walsh's playing at or around the same time in the late teens. I'm not 100% the baseball reference image depicts the correct player, but here is Walsh with the 1919 Elmira Arctics that is at least an Facepack upgrade.

Bud Black Seattle Mariners 1981

Bud Black needs little introduction. He was a southpaw without especially great stuff, but he had pretty good control and he could get the ground ball when he needed it. He never got a lot of respect, but he had a long and fairly good career with the Royals, Indians, and Giants and subsequently became a manager. Bud came up for a cup of coffee with the 1981 Mariners, but his time in Seattle was so brief that I had given up on finding him and so I suspect had many of you. Well, the other day I was searching for Mariners on Gettyimages when Bud popped up. The photo is a little funny looking and the stadium behind him may just be a backdrop, but since it is Getty I can also presume that the image is genuine.

John Michaelson 1921

Michaelson has long been on my Facepack upgrade list, and I just noticed that his SABR bio includes a clearer photo than the one in the Facepack. Although I don't have the original source for the image, the bio is well researched and sourced, so I have no reason to doubt the authenticity of the image. I've reached out to the author for additional source information.

Here's the same photo from the Ironwood Daily Globe June 24, 1921, in Michigan.

Ed Farmer - Brewers

Aside from the TV image and the Miller Beer card, I don't know of anything else with Farmer with the Brew Crew. Currently listed on eBay from seller hockeymonkey10 here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/37356076929...0AAOSw-I9gitpJ

Now, if anyone has a color image of him in the teams new-for-1978 unis, it would be greatly appreciated.

This is so awesome! I needed a pic of him that was with the correct hat on! (I have a color photo of him from the minor league Missions with the yellow trident, but that's the wrong logo from when he played in the MLB for the M's).

I SOOO wish this was in color!

Jimmy Woulfe 1884

Facepack upgrade, pictured much closer to his playing days than the current entry. The occasion for his photo being printed in the February 19, 1913 edition of The Times Democrat was his arrest on forgery charges. The paper lists him a "prominent former athlete."

Joe H Brown 1927

From the Pegasus UIN files, here's Brown with the 1927 Chicago White Sox. He started 1 game and didn't record an out. Pictured in the May 18, 1927 edition of the Chicago Tribune.

Another option from the March 1945 training camp. Joe Antolick is in the center.

Podge Weihe a Missing Player Again?

I'm uncertain how SABR confirmed Weihe's woodcut portrait that is currently represented in the Facepack and on Baseball Reference. It appears to me that they are in error, as the image comes from the 1892 Joliet Giants team composite and features Left Fielder Jake Weihl.

Podge Weihe 1883

Here's the real Podge Weihe, pictured while he was employed by the Cincinnati Police Department. His photo was printed in the March 26, 1904 edition of the Cincinnati Commercial Tribune.
