"Craig Wright" photo and Topps Vault GZ

Hi Folks,

Could you tell me who this photo is? The listing said Craig Wright and I looked on Baseball Reference and I did a search here to no avail.

Also, could someone supply me with the GZ Vault zip and GA from 351 on please? I'd be in your "debt".

Thanks a million guys!

Gas House Gang

There seems to be a lot of photos out there depicting members of this iconic St. Louis group, but almost none have accompanying keys to ID all the players. Does anyone have keys to go along with either of these photos? Many thanks!

I don't see any photo in your posting, so I can't identify who is in your photo. I can tell you. however, that the only Craig Wright who comes to my mind in association with baseball is a Craig R. Wright who writes a weekly column about the sport. It's a subscription service and I subscribe to it because he is an excellent researcher and a fine writer. Some background about the man is available at:

https://baseballspast.com/radio.htm

He frequently includes player photos in his weekly offerings, so I suppose it's possible that your photo has his name on it as a credit line, especially since all his material is copyrighted.

Thanks Merkle! I saw this one on Ebay years ago and I didn't buy it. Great photo and a great find!! I appreciate it.

Billy Wynne 1967 And Remini

I'll confess. I'm a convert.

Year before last a seller appeared on eBay who had several dozen small snapshots taken from the front rows of Yankee and Shea Stadium in the 1964-69 range.

There were some startling names for photo collectors: Bill Stafford with the Kansas City A's, Ed Connelly with Cleveland, and, incredibly, two of the White Whales of the 1967 Mets: Dennis Bennett and Billy Wynne. The problem was, a lot of the shots were blurry and the Bennett and Wynne were among them. Sigh.

But this is where the Remini App came in. Between what it can do to focus faces out of bad light, or blurry photography, or the bad dot matrixes of newspaper printing, and a little clean-up work from a friend of mine who is an expert with photoshop, I give you Billy Wynne, before and after:

Can Remini make something decent out of the old gnarly Vault shots (like folder AP, for example)?

Thank you Merkle, that is impressive.

Did anyone see the message on the Ebay Topps Vault page? I have seen it empty before but there is a message there now that says they are sold out. Might this mean they are done from here on out and never bringing back the old images? I had thought they had 100s of years worth still in the warehouse.

The Topps name, the sports card division and the entertainment division were sold to "Sports e-commerce company Fanatics" in early January.

I wonder if we'll ever see those Vault shots again?

Tom Morrison 1895 MISSING PLAYER

I found Morrison pictured with the 1892 Belleville Clerks team. The team photo was printed in the October 25, 1939 edition of the Belleville Daily Advocate.

John Ricks 1891

Also pictured in the 1892 Belleville Clerks team photo was John Ricks, long-time St. Louis amateur player and brief major leaguer. Chickazoola previously posted a photo of Ricks as a business man later in life.

I just did a quick tour of their website - for a number of reasons I am not enthusiastic about the future of the hobby. Maybe I'm just a curmudgeon; it's possible. It notes something about the change coming in 2022 as opposed to 2026 - does this mean there won't be a true Topps flagship set (i.e. one not under Fanatics banner in some way) starting in 2023?
