Need Al Lachowicz
Courtesy of Dr. Jteeee I had a perfectly wonderful Al Lachowicz shot from the '83 Rangers. He was in the right uniform and everything. And now, of course, I can't find the damn thing in my files. It's probably in the same place with my '83 Orioles Paul Mirabella and my '85 Cubs Dave Beard. Drives me nuts. A BW headshot of Al was posted here long ago, essentially the same as on his Keebler card, but I am looking for better. Did Topps Vault ever release a shot of Al? Thanks to anyone who can help.

Bill Bailey 1911 New York Highlanders. How they got the name Bill out of Harry Lewis Bailey is odd to me.

Scott Bradley White Sox 1986
Scott Bradley was a catcher-outfielder-infielder out of Glen Ridge, New Jersey. He signed with the Yankees in 1981 and made the big club for the first time in 1984. He was below par defensively as a catcher, but he could help you offensively in the lower part of the order. Among his closest matches were Jim Essian and Geno Petralli, which is about right. Like many other young players of ability Bradley had the misfortune to be in the Yankee chain during the worst of the Steinbrenner era. If Billy Martin had remained as Yankee manager Bradley might have gotten a real shot with the pinstripers, but Billy was canned (again) after the '85 season, the Yankees committed themselves to old catchers (Wynegar, Hassey, etc.), and Bradley was duly traded to the White Sox. Scott spent part of '86 with the Pale Hose but was dealt again to Seattle, where he had a fair-to-middling platoon career for the next six seasons. Photos of Bradley with the Chisox are apparently scarce, but ebay seller duckyboy34 has posted some unused Topps negatives and two shots of Scott as a White Sock are among same. Here they are.

This ebay seller has a ton of old topps vault photos that i don't recall seeing before...plenty of pics of guys you all might need to add to your collection who had photos that were unused in bubble gum cards |
