FIRST YEAR PLAYER DRAFT

There were a couple of errors in the Mock Draft.

The Padres are actually picking first with the Expos second.

The Blue Jays pick 5th in the 1st Round, but have no 2nd Round pick. Starting in the 3rd Round, they pick 4th.

With the 1st pick, The Padres took Manny Ramirez.

Carlos Delgado went 3rd, to the Cubs.

Blue Jays Picks

Round 1. Shawn Green. 19 year old expected to produce plus-plus power. He is listed as a DH, but his defense in the OF is adequate. He also has speed. Very good pick.

It dropped off a lot after that, understandably.

3. Rodney Bolton. 24 year old Starting Pitcher. His upside is mid-rotation.

4. Larry Luebbers. 23 year old Starting Pitcher. He was projected to go int he Supplemental Round, so this could be a steal. He just needs a third pitch.

5. Dave Staton. 24 year old 1B. Has plus power but needs to improve contact. 3rd projection.

6. Mark Ettles. 26 year old RP from Australia.
7. Pedro Castellano. 22 year old 3B from Venezuela.

The last two have already signed.
