Ham Iburg - 1902
This image is from the April 19th, 1902, edition of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Iburg (whose name was spelled Iberg in the newspaper) was a pitcher in the Phillies rotation that season, and finished with a record of 11-18. He did not play in any other major league seasons, but pitched in the Pacific Coast League for three more years.

Looked at the UNI list for the first time in a long time. Is that package even available anywhere? Anyway when looking at the Marlins list, I saw one name that I have a photo for, Willie Fraser. It is a Getty Image.

Thanks for Fraser! I'm not sure how I missed him in my Getty search. As for the Pegasus pack, to my knowledge the last time it was made available for download was in 2011. It's been several years since he was active here, so I'm not sure if he's even updating any more, but the UIN list has been an easy way to track the missing player/team combinations over the years.

Help IDing photo location

A number of Topps cards of Angels in the 1978 set - including Flores and Solaita, shown here, were taken in a couple different dugouts; one with concrete backing, the other looking like it had something resembling beadboard on the back wall. I am trying to determine what stadium(s) this was in - many Angels cards that year were taken in Oakland, so I assume the likeliest candidates are the Coliseum and Anaheim, or perhaps a spring training site? I've search images on Google and cannot come up with any clear dugout views of either location to confirm. Can anyone help ID the location?

Solaita and Flores

The Solaita photo was taken at Jackie Autry Stadium, Palm Springs, Spring Training 1977.

The Flores photo was taken at Yankee Stadium, presumably in August '77.

I think that's right - Mulliniks.

Unlikely to be Hartzell or any other pitcher, because pre-game pitchers usually stood in the outfield shagging flies, and on the slight chance it's an in-game shot, Hartzell would probably be in the bullpen.

Joe Straub 1880 MISSING PLAYER

I found a sketch of Straub in the 7/29/1900 edition of The Rocky Mountain News. In that edition they also were kind enough to print the pre-season team of the 1886 Denver Mountain Lions. Straub is almost certainly in the much clearer team photo that has been posted earlier.

1978 Topps Image Inventory

For any obsessives who might be interested, over at Net54 I've started to post the results of my attempt to ID the location and timeframe/date of all the images used in the 1978 sets. Thanks to Merkle for some valuable insights.

Here's the link to the thread -

More to come in the days ahead.
