Ted Gilje
Anyone have an image of Ted Gilje, who pitched in the Dodgers organization primarily at Bakersfield but also with Ogden, Albuquerque and El Paso between 1968-73? Thanks

Bobby Gene Sanders
rico43, I did not find a Chattanooga photo of Bobby
Sanders but I did have this image of Sanders saved from his time in Williamsport when he was the Eastern league MVP in 1962. It looks like he faded a bit in AA but I'm not sure if it was that or injuries that ended his professional career. https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=sander001bob |

Jesus Lechler 1961
In filling out my Baseball Mogul Diamond rosters while hunting for backup catchers ... I found this player. Jesus played 2 years north of the border in the Giants organization before pursuing his professional career in the Mexican league where he found work into the 1973 season.
From the book "Mexican American Baseball in El Paso" , by Richard A. Santillan, Eric Enders, Pete G. Flores, Donovan Lopez, and Jorge Iber. https://www.amazon.com/Mexican-Ameri.../dp/B074B3KBF7 https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=lechle001jes |

Chuck Knoblauch
I have had this photo saved for a long time. It is of Chuck Knoblauch who for an excellent 7 year stretch looked like a potential Hall of Famer. Here is an image of the young second baseman suiting up for the Wareham Gateman of the Cape Cod league circa 1988. After an outstanding career at Texas A@M , Chuck led the league that Massachusetts summer hitting .361. He hit .304 as a Twin with a generous amount of doubles, triples and stolen bases. Perhaps if he stayed in the Twin Cities ... As a Yankee Chuck Knoblauch was a solid if ordinary hitter . A speedy Tim Teufel. Then his as his bat faded the defense went south and throwing to first base became a mental struggle. Still I remember him as player I enjoyed watching . The poor man's Paul Molitor. An offensive force they were as teammates. His career ended poorly and life after baseball has not been complimentary of him. In my Baseball Mogul Diamond game I build expansion teams incessantly and with this Wareham card I always make Chuck Knoblauch a Washington Senator with brightened colors.

Thank you Cusick for adding depth and information to a forgotten free swinger Wes Kent. I enjoyed reading your research.

Once Upon a Career: Chuck Knoblauch
From 1990 , Knoblauch as an AA Orlando Sun Ray. He made the Twins the following spring without playing Triple A. Included with this photo is a blog entry from 2013 that sums up what happens when a young athlete fades away on the field without ever learning to be a man.

Joey Seaver
I saw this pitcher in the Baseball Reference database and wondered if he was in anyway related to Tom Seaver. He wasn't. Joey Seaver's brief professional career was as far from Tom Terrific as anyone's could be. After being drafted by Detroit , Baltimore and Milwaukee he finally ended up in rookie ball for the Brewers playing in Helena, Montana for the Gold Sox. He struggled and he was gone. But his post playing days were the opposite of a fallen All Star like Chuck Knoblauch. Joey Seaver enjoyed an outstanding career as a college coach and mentor. He was beloved . Does anyone have an image of George "Joey" Seaver from his playing days at Helena or from his days as a Tennessee Volunteer? Much appreciated. The last link is an article from 2018 shortly after his passing.

For me, my lasting memory will be of Knoblauch hitting Keith Olbermann's Mom in the stands behind first base with an errant throw when he was with the Yankees.

Tulsa Oilers
Ted Simmons as an Oiler where he played in 1969 and 1970. Also lefthander Lou Vickey who never advanced beyond AAA despite a fine season for Toledo in 1965 which at that time was a Yankees affiliate. Vickery pitched in 129 games from 1961 through 1964 for Tulsa.

Mike Carruthers
A left handed hitting right handed thrower , Carruthers spent 5 seasons in the Indians organization from 1968 to 1972. He hit over .300 in his first three seasons. In 1968 , Carruthers hit .340 for the Rock Hill Indians. The other photo is of Carruthers in uniform for the Wichita Wranglers where he played in 1970 and 1971. I have yet to identify the baserunner playing for the Denver Bears.

Davey Nelson of course! Before he was called up to the Senators. He was a Royal when I first became a baseball fan at 7. Saw him play. Thanks for refreshing my memory.

Reggie Patterson, Edmonton Trappers PCL 1982
Trappers were the White Sox Triple-A team in 1982. Reggie played with the White Sox in 1981 and the Cubs from 1983-85.
