Jerry Standaert 1925 UIN Dodgers/Robins
It's not great, but here is Standaert, as shown in a team photo that was published in the 01-May-1926 Brooklyn Standard Union.

J.D. McCarthy color
Ebay seller Fedxit had some great McCarthy color images listed. The Bob Oliver with the Orioles has been sought after by me for years. Also posted a Marcelino Lopez-Orioles, John Sullivan-Tigers, and Thad Tillotson-Yankees. Would be nice if more of the McCarthy color images would turn up for public consumption.

Rick Bosetti 1976
Yeah, yeah, so Merkle eventually found those Tom Underwood Cardinals pics. .
But what about the REAL prize in that 1977 Bake McBride deal? Whither Bosetti in Cards gear? From Larry Fritsch Cards on eBay. (Desaturated and sharpened, as I've been doing, lately.) Bosetti chilling at Spring Training 1978, before the March 15th trade that sent him to Toronto for Tom Bruno. Now we have something other than that quarter-panel on the Topps card. Woo-hoo! Robinson and Robinson, Spring Training 1966
Brooksie and his new teammate in Miami, 1966. We can date this, because the uniform (with its block-lettering and woodcut bird on the cap) was only in use through the 1965 season, as the Orioles went back to script on the jerseys and debuted "Happy Bird" on the cap for the 1966 season. From somebody's Etsy shop; I don't know the original source for the picture. |

Alex Kellner 1949, Walt Kellner 1952
September 6, 1952. A's pitcher Alex Kellner welcomes his kid brother Walt to the Philadelphia clubhouse. Walt was bombed to pieces in the Western League in 1950, but during his two-year stint in the Air Force, he'd impressed in service games. Presumably a wire-service photo, but I don't have the proper credit. (Apologies.) |

Bill Laskey 1982
Bill Laskey did not go gently into that good night. After the Giants cut ties to him after his second stint by the Bay (after the 1986 season), he signed with the Tigers, but spent the 1987 season in the minors. Then he signed with Cleveland for 1988, made 17 relief appearances, and was released, again.
For 1989, Laskey and his mustache turned up in BoSox camp, as seen in this image from Larry Fritsch Cards. I guess he was an NRI, as there's no indication he signed a contract. He didn't make the team, but did enough that the Royals signed him for Omaha. And in 1990, he ended up at Richmond (Braves) and in 1991 at Oklahoma City (Rangers). That's six different franchises in six consecutive seasons, not including this Spring in Winter Haven with the Sawx. Points for determination, at least. (Bill's still connected to the game; he's a long-time radio host for KNBR in San Francisco and had been a post-game host for Giants games on NBCSN-Bay Area.) |

Ben DeMott 1910
Here's a nice uniformed profile for DeMott, who pitched for Cleveland sporadically between 1910-1911. He was pictured upon his final release in the 6/5/1911 edition of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Bob Higgins 1909
Here's a uniformed Cleveland option (which I did not have previously) for backstop Higgins. Most images of him I have feature him with Brooklyn. This was pictured in the 2/27/1910 edition of The Cleveland Plain Dealer at the beginning of Spring Training.
