Charles Moran vs.Charlie Moran

The second photo shows I believe is Charles Moran who played for the STL Browns in 1904-05. This photo is Id'ed on Getty as such, but is Id'ed in the photo pack and Baseball Reference as Charlie Moran who played for the STL Cardinals in 1903 and 1908. I believe the second photo very closely resembles the first photo of Charles Moran when he played for the Washington Senators in 1903-04. The third photo I included, which I also got from Getty, is Jim Buchanan who only played only one year 1905 for the STL Browns. He is wearing the same team jacket and hat as the player in the second photo which is another reason why I believe the player in he second photo is Charles Moran and not Charlie Moran. Hope this makes some sense. What does the group think?

Jim Buchanan is the player facing to our left with all of his buttons buttoned. Charles Moran is oriented to our right, but facing the camera, with one top button unbuttoned. I've attached below a group photo from Sporting Life that includes both players.

I believe you are spot on. 2 images of Charles Moran and one of Jim Buchanan. Attached is an image of Charlie Moran who played with the Cardinals.

I think I misunderstood the question. Yes; Baseball-reference.com has a photo of Jim Buchanan on the Charley Moran page and a photo of Charles Moran on the Jim Buchanan page. I've attached below a newspaper image of Charley Moran with the Cardinals in 1903.

Thank You, RUKen and UK

Thanks for the help. I obviously was confused and believe you both straightened things out for me!

The March 2, 1905 edition of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch gives another good likeness of Jim Buchanan, which does seem to confirm the 2nd photo is him.

I found a nice portrait of Charlie B. Moran showing him as Baseball Coach at Texas A&M in 1910.

Does anyone have an only 19th century players facepack? I want to have one with every 19th century player but don't want to use the one with every player ever in it because I have limited space left on my computer. Thanks.

I organise my facepacks by debut year (one for each year), not alphabetically, so they are available in that format, up to whenever you decide you want the 19th century to end, 1899 or 1900. They will include images for playing years into the 20th century for all players who meet the debut year criteria.

I always back-up my images to either a memory stick or hard drive, but you could consider in investing in two or a combination, if viable, and work directly from those to free space on your computer. One every day and one back up. Incidentally I also use the hard drive for storing my entire music collection as I see you are a music lover.

The actual colors for the 1890 Cleveland uniform you will find on Craig Brown's site (Threads Of Our Game) that I referred to previously as a source for player identifications on team photos.

Roberto Clemente Brooklyn Dodgers Uniform

He was originally signed by the Dodgers when he first started his career but never played in the majors with them.

Does anyone have any shots of Fritz Buelow in a St. Louis Browns uniform?

Fritz Buelow (1899) - 1907 St. Louis Browns uniform

The first image is from the St. Louis Post Dispatch, March 30th, 1907. The second (head shot) is a newspaper clipping from a scrapbook that was available at an auction; the source is unknown. Buelow had played for Cleveland in 1906, but had apparently been given a 1906 Browns uniform to wear in spring training. (My heading for this post is a little misleading.)

Just so we are clear here, the Clemente/Dodgers shot is a photoshop. He never appeared at a Brooklyn spring training or on a field in a Dodger uniform.
