Series Preview: CHI Cubs @ Wrigley Field (3-Games)

Maybe the biggest series of the year so far as we head to the Windy City for our meeting with the Cubs.
Could be a possible playoff preview.
Kris Bryant, Addison Russell and Ian Happ are the hitters to look out for.
Jose Quintana, Yu Darvish and Jon Lester are the pitchers to look out for and we are supposed to play all of them.
It will be Kluber, Syndergaard and Kershaw for this HUGE series.
Even though this will be our last meeting with the Cubs this season, we might not have seen the last of them.
The way things are going, they will be playing the LA Dodgers in the NLDS.
They have to get past them first.

NY METS 4
CHI Cubs 3
Wrigley Field

One of the more exciting games i played this year!
Corey Kluber had an average night, going 6 and giving up 2 earned runs on 7 hits.
Giving the Cubs a 3-0 lead early.
But we battled back thanks to 2 HRs by Gary Sanchez (15,16) who gets the Golden bat.
He was 2-4, scoring twice with 2 RBIs.
Kenley Jansen got his 1st win on the year and Zach Britton his 3rd save.
We take the 1st game of this huge series.

MLB Injuries:

The Blue Jays lose ANOTHER pitcher for the season.
Suddenly they are snake bitten as they continue to chase the Red Sox in the AL East!

NY METS 10
CHI Cubs 2
Wrigley Field

A much different game than yesterday as we destroy the Cubs .
Thor was pretty good, even though i needed him to go much deeper into the game because of a very tired bullpen i have.
But he went 5.1 and gave up 2 runs on 5 hits.
The bullpen closed out the game.
Bryce Harper (37) and Jose Altuve (20) smacked the long-ball tonight.
But i am going to give the Golden Bat to Corey Seager, who went 3-4, scored twice, 1 RBI and a BB.
With tonight's win, we take the series versus the Cubs and it will be Kershaw trying to sweep them tomorrow night.

Do i really need to comment on this game?
Just read the box scores below and you will see what i just played today.
Oh yeah, the Mets did win this one by a very narrow margin.
This is the kind of game you get when you have two very tired bullpens.
Thank goodness we have the day off tomorrow.

Series Preview: SF Giants @ AT&T Park (3-Games)

We now head to the Bay Area for a three game rematch series with the Giants.
This is where the 2017 NLCS took a turn for the worse and once again, i want to crush SF.
Strasburg, Sale and Kluber are the starters for the weekend.

Just an awesome game by the whole team.
Stephen Strasburg goes 7.1 innings and gives up 4 hits and strikes out 7.
Mike Trout blasted his 38th HR of the year.
But the Golden Bat goes to Freddie Freeman, who goes 4-4 with 1 run scored, 2 RBIs and 2 walks.
He was in the zone tonight.
Always good to start off the weekend with a win.

I will have a month end report on Sunday.

A lot closer this time and the Giants almost did what they did to us last year, but we held on for the win.
Chris Sale gave up 2 earned runs on 6 hits.
The Mets committed two very bad errors, but we over came it.
Josh Donaldson hits his 10th HR as a Met and Bryce Harper smacked his 40th!
Ill give the Golden Bat to Donaldson though, who went 2-4 with a run scored, a HR and 3 RBIs.
It will be up to Kluber to get us the sweep tomorrow afternoon versus Bumgarner.

MLB Injuries:

TB Chris Archer is done for the year, pretty much as well as the TB Rays.
There will be NO repeat as AL Champion this season for them.

Corey Kluber does well, but the bullpen blows the game.
The Mets left 12 men on base as we could not sweep the Giants. (AI CHEATS!)
But it may have been my fault though as i should have taken out Luis Severino and had NOT used Andrew Miller to pitch in that situation.
Anyway, we do take the series in SF and now prepare to play a team that won a series over us, the LA Dodgers.

This Week/Month in Baseball---NY METS

As we head into September, i did make some roster expansion moves just to give players a rest if necessary.
They were called up from LVG.
I'm not going to mention them, because they are just filler to rest a starter or two if need be.
Our schedule for the month is brutal.
Only one day off because of a make up game versus ATL on 9/24.
We have already clinched the NL East and i still want to get as many wins as possible to pass the PrePredicts of 118!
I thing we can do it and still win the whole thing.
Of course, the cheating AI might have other plans!
For the month we have on the schedule: LAD, PHI, MIA, BOS, WAS and ATL.

No Rules changes as the AI Trading and AI Injury Frequency remains the same!

2018 Pennant Chase---Week 1

Welcome to September and the 2018 MLB Pennant Chase!
For the rest of the season, we only check on the teams that have playoff possibilities.
However, this season is pretty much of a let down as FOUR divisions are pretty much decided and one has been already clinched.
ALE: The BOS Red Sox have a 3 game lead on the TOR Blue Jays, so this division is still pretty close. BOS has HOU on the schedule and TOR has CLE.
ALC: The Twins have a 6.5 game lead here. Is it enough to hold off CLE? MIN plays HOU this week!
ALW: This is the most interesting division race. TEX, LAA and HOU are still very much alive. OAK is just barely hanging on. The Rangers have the Angels this week and then the Athletics later.
NLE: The Mets took this division very early. Not much to say here.
NLC: The CHI Cubs are in complete control here.
NLW: The LA Dodgers own this division. They have a HUGE series with the Mets coming up.
ALWC: Five teams have a shot at the Wild Card, but in reality, the Blue Jays need to win the AL East in order to get in. The Angels are trying to host the ALWS and have a 2 game lead on the Astros.
NLWC: This has been pretty much decided. The Padres and the Diamondbacks should win the Wild Cards. It remains to be seen where the NLWS will be played at. They do have a short series against each other this week.
