That was a very Verlander way to start a game. Not only do I think he's always the most vulnerable in the 1st, but he also has a history of starting a bit nervous in "big" games - which I think this is: first game for the Mets, first start in Detroit since 2019.

Feels like a good move. Spencer has struggled and has options. Alex has been doing well at AAA. Might as well give him a shot.

Well, sure. There was a lot to smile about yesterday. Today? Not so much. That 6th inning was brutal. The Tigers let the Cards win. I feel pretty confident that won't happen again.

On a whole other note... that game only took 2 hours and 43 minutes.
