The OL teams are scattered to the 4 corners of the league. As things stand, Paxville have 11 games, Cary and Nowhere 10, and Knockemstiff only have 9. I'll check later to see if the fixtures have changed at all.
Edit: OK, so we now have Nowhere with 13 games, Knockemstiff have 12, Paxville 10, and Cary only have 9. With so little difference between the numbers, I'd be inclined to keep Cary in the running for a crown. Thoughts? Last edited by Tinkerman; 01-10-2022 at 01:09 PM. |

I agree with you, given the closeness of the numbers, it makes sense and seems fair. |

Gold league:
Mad Brewers make the most of their one OL game so far to sit atop the standings, with Brooklyn, Seattle, Waffletown, and Port Ruppert playing .700 (or just under) ball vs OL competition to start the season. |

There are 10 OL teams over .600 so it looks like it is going to be a fierce battle this week. Gear Terrace Warriors and HelthWyzer Crakes share the lead. Sunday Drivers' Carl Yastremski went 6-7 with 2HRs against Daytona Beach Tortugas for the OL performance of the month (same player is tied for league HR lead)..
It looks like OL may not dominate the whole league this week but there will be lots of OL teams in the playoffs. I may need to do abbreviated (but complete!) reports on the weekend--otherwise I am happy to do Silver this week. Last edited by Quinta; 01-11-2022 at 09:50 AM. |

If you'd like, I can do Saturday and Sunday morning standings. They've switched around our work from home schedules, so it's a bit harder for me to get to things during the weekdays. Also, if you know anyone in bronze, please reach out to them to ask them to send in team vs team for OL on Sunday morning. It would be a shame for them to be left out now that they're all in the same league. The e-mail to use is kidheckett@gmail.com. All we need is Sunday morning screen shots from the league report menu, team vs. team, for the OL teams. Last edited by Stanley Kuppchaser; 01-11-2022 at 04:57 PM. |

Gold league:
Silly and Seattle starting to separate from the rest of the group, and are currently the only OL teams leading their respective divisions after 2 months. |

Gear Terrace had a spanner thrown in their cogs (had a bad month) and have fallen to the middle of the pack. That leaves Healthwyzer Crakes and the enigmatic Route 66 Hot Rods in a near tie for first place. Algoma Penguins, Babel Librarians, and Gettysburg Bullets are all pretty close should the top 2 falter. The New York Patriots' Phil Niekro had the Game of the Month with a 4 hit, 1 run game in an old school 10 2/3rds inning outing against Asylum Keepers.
The Silver standings has at least a dozen OL teams vying for playoff spots. There are also 5 or so non-OL teams in the mix this week as well. |

Thanks. Right now I can do it but will let you know if that changes. I want to do at least this week as I do appreciate the work you and others here do with the OL tracking.

Midweek update, but there's not much to report so far. I didn't realize that most of the OL games are in the second half...
At the moment it's just 4 wins for Knockemstiff and 2 wins for Cary. |

Gold league:
Mad Brewers on a roll with an impressive .828 OL winning percentage (and .785 overall... 35-4 record at home! ), extending their OL lead.

There is still a close race for OL Silver. The Helthwyzer Crakes have a 1 game lead over Route 66 and a 2 game lead over Babel. The Algoma Penguins and Daytona Beach Tortugas are close behind that. Babel Librarians' Josh Gibson had the Game of the Month going 5-6 with 2 HRs and 9 RBIs against Boulder City. Gibson was aided by the fact it was the 3rd game of series that started with 2 high scoring games and tired out the Boulder City bullpen (he hit his two homers on Johnny Callison and Kent Hrbek).
OL teams lead 3 divisions and are at least tied for all 4 WC spots. Right now it looks like 4 teams will be relegated. |

"Our League" Season 4--Who Wants To Play Our Way?
Gold league:
Mad Brewers "stumbled" a bit last month and "only" went 7-3 against OL competition, so they dropped to just an .800 winning percentage On the more surprising side, Waffletown has moved up into the 2nd position with a .654 winning pct (even though they just managed to claw back to the .500 mark overall with a 7 game winning streak).Overall, Silly on a two month victory tour in the NC East with a 29 game lead, and Brooklyn a solid 11 game cushion for the top wild card spot. Seattle, Port Ruppert, Lemp Ave and Annandale all within 1.5 games of a wild card as well. Last edited by stl jason; 01-14-2022 at 10:54 AM. |

On the home front, Waffletown making a pseudo return to their roots, picking up Jimmy Sheckard (1901) and Charles Bender (1911) to add a couple of old timey players to the squad.
Thinking for next version, I might make that the "theme" again with a little twist.... any historical player will be eligible to join the team from the start, but for them to be replaced, the new player has to be from an earlier year (so if I end up with Iron(51) second baseman - Red Downs (1908) on the roster, he's there until I acquire someone from 1907 or earlier)... probably won't be as successful, but whatever... it's all in fun

It is a very close two team race at the top with two more teams close behind. There are others in the race but they would need the top 4 to falter. Helthwyzer Crakes lead with Route 66 Hot Rods close behind. Penguins and Librarians are a few games back. Performance of the Month goes to Otsego Lake Monsters' Cy Young who pitched a no-no facing 28 batters (2 walks and one DP). The 4 best teams in the Silver 406 race are also the top 4 OL teams. However, Route 66 has best record in the league is ahead of Helthwyzer in their divisional race.

Knockemstiff are done and have actually set a fairly challenging target. Cary are unable to pass them with only 3 games left, but they can scupper Paxville's chances. Paxville also play 3 against Nowhere, with the Men needing to win all 3. The Kings need to win 4 of their 6. Quite an interesting finish for so few fixtures

Interesting finishes? OL Silver has them. Right now my 3 teams lead the OL team standings with the HelthWyzer Crakes holding on to a half game lead over the Penguins. The Crakes and Penguins start the final month with a 4 game series against each other. Babel Librarians and Route 66 Hot Rods are still close enough to make a run. All the teams have double digit OL games left--lots can happen. Performance of the Month goes to Las Vegas Thunder's Jimmie Foxx 3 HR/7 RBI game against Shinbone. I will make OL MVP and Cy Young awards tomorrow--feel free to vote! Route 66's Ichiro and Otsego's Hornsby lead their MVP races with Algoma's DeGrom and Gear Terrace's Cy Young leading the Cy Young.
In the Silver overall, Route 66 and Crakes have been locked in an epic pennant race for 2/1/2 months with less than 2 games separating them. There will be 5-7 OL teams making the playoffs (Otsego is another solid playoff team). There will be 4 OL relegations but it is a close race to decide which 4.
