Yes.. Same here.. Post patch, the game interface was instantly more sluggish.

The original poster was spot-on accurate that offerring contracts is very slow. Everything takes a few clicks, PBP is noticeably slower, and simming is sluggish. This is all post patch.

Yes, I disabled antivirus (AVGFree).
My system specs are: Dell Latitude D810. Pentium M 1.8 GHz proc. 1 GB RAM.

When I run in Windowed mode, with the blue skin, and turn off the ticker, the performance isn't quite as bad, but it's still not where it was pre-patch.

And, the CPU does not pin at 100% utilization; it's typical spiky CPU utilization. The longer I play, the more RAM utilization grows. It starts at roughly 46MB, and can grow up to 500+MB.

Please let me know if I can provide any more information.

As can be seen by my stats, I don't post much, but I do play alot . I don't want it to seem that I am here to complain, but I must add my voice to those that have experienced extreme slugishness post patch.

To read the news I have to click about 5-6 times and then wait about 3-4 seconds to finally move to next news item. Sim speed is still fast, perhaps faster than before, but interface is just sluggish.

EDIT- my machine specs are as follows: P4 2.0 Ghz with over 1GB of RAM. Win Xp Pro. Machine is nothing special but is right around the reccomended specs.

This sounds almost like a video driver issue to me. What video card does everyone have who is having sluggish interfaces?

We're investigating some memory issues at the moment so thanks for the heads up.

GeForce 4 4200Ti

Why would a video card affect PBP engine speed? It's the output that's slow, not the rendering of the output.

Well I'm trying to think what is different here. I have a similar setup to most of the systems listed on my two machines that I've been testing on and I haven't seen these problems. An out of date video driver is the problem in a lot of games, I just thought it was something worth checking out. If everyone had the same series of cards, that would likely be the problem.

dola -

It's only taking me a second or two to simulate a pitch with Very Fast speed and Per Line delay mode.

This machine is a P4, 3.2 GHz with 2GB RAM and a Radeon 9800 Pro. Home machine is an Athlon 64 3500+ with 2GB RAM and a 6600GT. Been testing on both since they cover both ends of the processor and video card spectrum.

Your machines are both towards the high end. I think what's happening is that it's a problem that affects everyone, but it's those of us on the low end that really notice the difference, since you higher end people have more of a gap between what you have and what the game requires.

So now, people like me on the very low end can't play unless they have the patience of Jobe and a book nearby, while you lucky high end people are still fine since you weren't skating so close to the line to begin with.

We're hoping to be able to afford a new PC after our wedding, but in the meantime, I hope they locate the problem and release a patch somewhat quickly, because I want to play me some baseball!

I'm having trouble with speed issues, and my laptop's certainly not low-end, nor high-end either. But it runs everything else great. EHM 2k5, WWSM, PureSim, MLB 2005, Madden, NBA Live, etc., no problems.

Same here..My laptop can run everything perfectly fine, but OOTP06 pretty much kills it...Even when I close the game, my computer runs so much slower. This needs to be fixed. Yes, the simulation is fast, but the interface is not and the game itself slows down considerably after playing for a while.

Since this is being bumped anyway, I'll throw in my system specs:
AMD Athlon 2800XP, 1gig of ram, ATI Radeon x700, Windows XP.

Comp runs Oblivion fine, so this is a game specific issue. Doesn't look like a video card specific problems since it seems both GeForce and ATI cards are being affected. Slows down a bunch of menu's and play-by-play.

There's another thread that talks about the CPU going to 100% on screens that have a scroll bar. I noticed that my auto-sim goes faster I'm I start it from the Standings screen.

I don't know about the other people in this thread, but my biggest problem is that PBP slows to a crawl even when there are no scroll bars on the screen.

My sentiments exactly. Except in my case I only needed to upgrade my video card and increase my memory to 2GB. I also had to increase the memory in my wife's computer to 2GB because she got jealous.

Of course I can't complain much because I work for a computer company and it's good when people have to buy more computers.
