Just did the same thing and I appear to be up and running. Along the lines of the data folder... I had copied the Arod/Garlon database into that folder. Did anyone do something similar. I'm wondering if that was the cause of the problem. |

ok, d/l'd the patch and got the dreaded black screen.
im gonna try to reinstall the full version of the game; is that d/l now inclusive of the patch or do we need to reinstall the full vers, then patch it again? also, do i need to take the esellerate key out of the folder before i trash it? oh ffs, now i cant d/l the full version from rapidshare for an hour cause i just d/l'd the patch

It looks as if they are still separate files that need to be installed (game original + patch). I'm pretty well screwed because I trashed my original d/l of the game and had deleted everything to try and start from scratch. Well, the rapidshare links tell me I've d/l'd more than my allotment of free d/l's and the one I d/l direct from OOTP gives me a "not recognized" error when I try and mount for the install. Aye, Aye, Aye.
p.s.the other rapidshare link tells me the file was removed by the uploader. This is no fun. |

Geez! I guess I was lucky. I had problems at first, but only because I had moved my original OOTP folder to a different location. The patch created a new folder at the default location with only the patched files. When I tried to open the "OOTP" program in that folder, I got the black screen. When I deleted that folder, moved my real OOTP folder back to its original location, and reapplied the patch, everything was hunky-dory. Been playing OOTP 1.0.2 just fine since.

Guys, I'm sorry about the frustration.
The wonders of the Mac world.I would urge anyone reading this to simply download the full Mac version from the rapidshare link, instead of the patch. That seems to be working well for most people. Unfortunately, we're well into "Europe folks aren't available" time, so licensing issues that need Marc's help may have to wait until tomorrow. Does this sound about right to those of you who have had success? Thanks, Steve |

Well, the OOTP link for the patch worked fine for me, once I got my OOTP folder in the right place.

1. Is there anyone in this thread who CANNOT get the game working by uninstalling and reinstalling the full version?
2. I'm not very knowledgeable about the Mac version. Can someone clarify for me exactly what they did to uninstall and NOT lose their license file? (On the PC, even if you uninstall, the license remains installed, and after the reinstall it just picks up where you left off...) I will post in the main forum suggesting that Mac users, at least until tomorrow, use the uninstall/reinstall method rather than patching. Thanks very much, Steve |

You could probably safely rename the old folder, instead of trashing, but we might need to play with that a bit. |

This file btw can be opened by TextEdit. Its content is: Code:
SERIAL_NUMBER ootpb**** Maybe thats of help for piperclap - try to make an textedit file (without any txt. extension i guess) containing the above mentioned text and your serial number and place it into the config-folder. |
