Can't install, Help :(

That's very, very odd. Unfortunately, it's pretty clearly something related to your system, so at this point anything we can suggest is no better than what your friend might suggest!

Often, if you post a good description of your problem, they will respond very quickly, especially the second site.

I'm just about at a loss here. Have you managed to come up with anything else?

I'm sorry, I've been unable to come up with any further ideas. At this point, I believe the only possible next step, if you're still interested in pursuing the installation, would be to reinstall your operating system. I know that's not a great option, but unless you've been able to find a workaround using any of those other sites I mentioned, I'm afraid I'm out of ideas...
