My settings are the same in windows.

In the game under preferences, I have all the defaults. The game is windowed and the window size is 1024 x 768

It may not help narrow down the issue but I ran the openGL extension viewer that I downloaded here:

http://www.realtech-vr.com/glview/download.html

and scored 100% for version 2.0

The 200M is an onboard video card for laptops. Is it possible that it could be a mobo issue as well?

Also, I updated my drivers from ATI's Catalyst Control Center found here:

http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/x...grated-xp.html

Following the link in another post in this thread it said that using the "Omega" drivers with that board could cause problems and I notice in QRs screenie that the Omega symbol was prominent. Perhaps a complete driver rollback and re-update via CCC would solve the problem?

Thanks Melo, this is great information! I'm convinced at this point that there's something goofy in QR's setup (through no fault of his own)... Hopefully we can get it figured out!

As I posted earlier in this thread, it could very well be a BIOS issue but I don't like to advise people to mess with BIOS as you can mess your computer up if you do something wrong:

Quote:
From what I’ve found certain runs of the ATI Xpress 200m chips came with Video Firmwares that are somewhat “bugged” and do not allow for proper OpenGL performance. These chips offload most of the Vertex and T&L operations to the CPU and brings it (no matter its speed) to its knees. For the record, my chip identifier is “0×5955″, with a BIOS version of VER008.025l.004.0000.
I did not note the BIOS identifer on this floor model I tested, but did look around HP’s website for some other information relevant to this issue…
Many of the newer Compaq and HP Laptop models have a revised BIOS downloadable. This BIOS lists in its fixes that it “Resolves a Video Firmware Issue”. Unfortunately, my model of laptop is not supported by this download. The link to it is this: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&os=228&pr oduct=1818493&lang=en&softwareitem=ob-39058-1

Could it be a BIOS issue?

Edit: I don't advise messing with BIOS unless u r comfortable with doing this type of thing.

Try uninstalling the game, delete all of the OOTP 2007 directories, then set those graphic settings back to the defaults. Be 100% sure the drivers are updated. Then install the game again. Start a clean fresh game and see if that clears it up.

Also, go to Start, click Run and type in "msconfig". then click the startup tab and let us know what has a green checkmark.

Indeed. Once when I was flashing to a new BIOS version and the flash failed for some reason halfway through. Result: dead motherboard. I've been appropriately apprehensive everytime I've done a BIOS flash since (which thankfully has been rarely).

dola

is it ok to assume QR's issue is resolved, seeing that he is posting about downloading jersey templates and how great they look?

Well, through Battists hard work,my FaceGen issue has been fixed. This fix will be in the next patch for anyone having the same problem. I don't know what he,or Markus, did, but it has worked. The one catch,at least right now in it's non tested state,is that none of my former leagues work anymore. All newly created leagues work flawlessly though.

No,they weren't at the time. I was simply reinstalling drivers over and over till I got one time when the game worked, then left it running all day long. Now,with the fix,it doesn't matter anymore. I just got it fixed TODAY a few minutes ago.

Just to clarify, this isn't a totally done deal. Andreas was just testing out something that could help. I don't want anyone to get their hopes up too far. I've tested with a few people and have had at least one for whom it still doesn't appear to work.

Anyway, we're working on it.
