Online League Passwords - Page 2

I'm one of the GMs that is having corruption problems. I've tried opening the saved games in both 2.02 and 2.01, and neither have accepted the file. When I select the file to load, the progress bar goes to about 40%, then resets to 0% and goes to 100%. It then reports the error.

Does this sound like any known issue?

I am running multiple single and online leagues in OOTP 2007 perfectly fine.

One problem that came up before was the ISP for some users (though never on a commish side yet). Is the commish getting his internet service through Rogers by any chance?

According to the user info on every one of my posts, it says I live in Silicon Valley. That's California, not Canada.

Assuming the commish can open the league, then as an owner you should get a completely fresh full copy of the league file as a basis. Then tell us exactly what it says when you try to import in-game.

In speaking with a couple of commissioners with way more experience, the suspicion is that the league file size (62 megs+) is what's causing the corruption problem. The players.dat is 55 megs alone and this is an MLB (32 team) setup with full minors and a col/hs feeder league. Their suggestion is to restart (since this is a brand new league) with just the MLB +2 and full minors, but dump the feeder leagues and reduce the pre-sim from 45 seasons to 10.

Now, I'm willing to do this, but let's say this league goes on for 45 seasons... won't I just run into the problem later on down the line? Hopefully OOTP2008 will fix this
