Game crashes/freezes during load - Page 2

I have invested a ton of time buillding two separate franchises only to have the game not load with the same message noted above. The game is pretty much useless to me and I don't want to invest the time again to only get the database corrupt message upon start up.

What can I do?

I'm on a Mac with Leopard and all of my league files freeze up while loading at 16%. It freezes up my entire computer for like 5 minutes before it becomes functional after a force quit. My OOTP9 is basically dead weight on my harddrive right now.

Running Windows Vista with plenty of storage. Surely there will be some type of patch for this in the near future.

My crash is happening at the 22% mark. It happened 25 games into the season in one franchise and 1 week (7 games) in another. Sounds like its happening on both PC and Mac.

please explain the type of league you saw this happen in; i.e. historical, fictional, MLB, MAL, imported and any other settings that could have caused it. Is your league in its first season?

I play on Windows XP. This happened for me with the MLB league created from a new game, and happened the first time about 25 games into the league. The second time it was off the MLB All in One modded mlb league about 60 games into the first season. I have created a third league now with the same settings and fully expect this one to blow up. Instead of playing every game which is how I prefer to play, I will sim to 60 and continue playing from then on, if I can get that far, and if my team's record is close to what it was.

first season, mlb 2008 league...didn't change any settings or import anything

did you start the league with the original release and then try to continue it after patching your game?

Thats probably the reason for the error; the file was changed for the patch.

sorry, I misunderstood. No, the error message appeared BEFORE I patched. After I patched I get the SAME message.

can you run a new MLB league without incident in the patched version of the game?

I'm running Windows XP.

The crash happens one week into the free agent signing period following the conclusion of my first MLB season.

I'm not going to import my OOTP 7 league or start a new league until this is resolved. Has anyone tried the drastic message-eraser toolkit yet?

do you have hidden players enabled?

I'm running MLB 2008 rosters with no imports.

Crashed prior to the patch and I started new seasons after the patch and had the same result.

I'm really gun shy about starting a new league again knowing that I may lose everything.

Seems like a great game but this corrupted database error is a big deal.......

I'm going to uninstall everything and clear the cache and reinstall. It takes forever but maybe when I patched the new database somehow is pointing to an original database and causing issues.

I'm not the programmer of the game and don't ultimately know the answer, but at this point I think the file isn't fixable. I'll (or another one of my colleagues) will point this thread out to Markus and see if he can do anything when he gets back into town.

If you can start another league and avoid the error we could be able to determine the original is done for. If you can't start another league without the error theres a bigger problem thats needs to be fixed that could fix the original file.

Please FTP your files to us following the instructions in this thread: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...-files-us.html. You'll need to send us a zipped up copy of your .dat files while letting us know the file name.

Started a new season after the patch and had same error. However, I did not uninstall the original game/download before installing the patch. I assumed the patch would just replace the orginal download automatically. Could that be causing the error? I'm in the process of uninstalling and will reload the patch and start a new season. I'm hoping that will fix the problem.
