Again thank you for your best wishes Gentlemen and now with a bit of luck this thread will slide down way out of sight and any new guys will think they are still talking to a twenty one year old. On a last note i have heard that buying an exercise bike can put your age back 10 years. So i have ordered three of them

Now if only 50 were the new 30, I would be on top of the world.

Happy birthday, Danny!

Of course me being me far as i am concerned i am just in the prime of my life at 70 but i think my wife would tell you different i am sure. Problem with my wife like most wife's they have this annoying habit of telling the truth which shatters our fantasy day dreams.

I got to tell you this, all through my life in one way or another my friends have always said i lived on the edge and take to many chances, but looking back i don't regret many of them. Also today a nice surprise was the chairmen of the WBHOF has asked me to become a member of his selection team who of course decide which fighters will go into their Hall of Fame. To be honest i was quite flattered and more then a little surprised. Perhaps he has been secretly reading my long boring posts on here Who know if my luck keeps up next year i could be on the panel of the IBHOF or perhaps even sitting along side some of the so called experts broadcasting the fights live Well at least i would tell it as it is. Not like some of them who at times you would think by their remarks there was only one man in the ring during a fight. Then you watch the fight on video and you realize that the fight was in fact pretty even.
Whoa! Happy Birthday and congrats on being named to the selection team! I think you are very deserving and,my friend, you are never boring. I usually agree with you about 99.999 percent and have always found you to be a decent, fair and intelligent man. Good luck with the newfound responsibility and here's to 70 more great years!

Happy Birthday, Danny! Seventy years old... that would mean -

-Joe Louis was champion for only two years
-Melio Bettina had just stopped Tiger Jack Fox for the Light Heavyweight Title (only weeks before you were born)
-Fred Apostoli was recognized as the Middleweight Champ
-Henry Armstrong still had the title at Welterweight (until October of the same year
-Henry Armstong still held the Lightweight title (He wouldn't lose to Lou Ambers until the end of the "Summer of 39')
-Joey Archibald was the Featherweight King
-Sixto Escobar occupied the Bantamweight Throne
-And the little slugger, Peter Kane was the Master of the Flyweight division.

You've seen a lot a great fighter and great fights!

So now, the only question that remains is... if Ray Robinson were a Heavyweight, would he have beaten Joe Louis? And, if Joe Louis were a Welterweight, would he have beaten Ray Robinson?

Having seen them both, 35 years from now your reply my still be saved within the archives of Google....

Hope you celebrate your birthday for the entire month! Happy 70th!

Let me add my congratulations, Danny! I turned 60 on the 1st. With Prof getting ready to hit 61, I am starting to feel young again!

One thing's for sure. I don't know of anyone, on their deathbed, that wished they could have just worked one more day in their life! Keep on posting, and maybe soon this thread will pull a Cheshire Cat imitation and slowly fade away.
