I used to always start fictional now I always start the game with the current roster then I switch to fictional. Have never played historical but with OOTP14 I will begin my Historical part beginning in 1960s unless anybody else has a better time period to begin???

I like doing fictional but starting from 1900 and letting the universe and history evolve over time, I think its a great way to play

When I first started playing OOTP it was current rosters, mainly to get to know the players and talk baseball on the forum and in online leagues. I then went the way of historical play again getting to know historical players other than the Ruth's, Cobb's etc and again to talk about baseball history. I then found fictional play and I've never turned back, tried to play current leagues online but I get bored with not being able to write articles about player's like you can't have Babe Ruth being a church going tea totaller can you. So I go down the fitcional route by playing in the PEBA online and I have a solo stats only fictional league that I slow sim.

Straight after the war or 1950's? You could even throw in a bit of fictional by not having the Dodgers and Giants move.

Not really since "current rosters" and historical are both about real rosters.

so it's more like 52% and 43%, only 9% difference in my books.

Not a world league but I create every country so it is on a completely different planet. But I was thinking about doing an Association for each country's main league.

This has made me laugh so much!

Had always played historical love playing in the 60s, have got a 1990 career going on seeing if the Mets can win it and with OOTP development engine on see if the Doc can get to the Hall...I watch a game and stay with the winner until they lose a game then follow the winner and so on this way I should get to immerse myself with all the teams in the NL. Also for the first time have got the MLB season going currently in my 3rd season with the Pirates still can't them past .500 this is easily the best OOTP of them all

Would love to do Fictional and would base it on an online league I used to play in called the United States Baseball League using Front Page Sports Baseball as the owner of the Rapid City Bandits. Great names such as the Astoria Pigeons, New Orleans Titans, Oklahoma Blues, Birmingham Rebels, LA Pacifics and the New York Atlantics. Dennis Machado if you are out there this was a great league!

To get the Yankees to disappear from the universe. I've been on this 26 year odyssey starting with a fictional 3rd major league in 1988, running across multiple computer types, platforms, games. In 2006 I was finally able to incorporate the rest of the universe including the real majors, affiliated minors, foreign leagues, indy leagues, fictional leagues of various types. Then I moved a bunch of minor league teams into the NY metro area to infringe on the Yank$ territory, and recently I had the Continental League's Jacksonville team move to Brooklyn... and finally, after 26 calendar years OOTP's dynamic evolution moved ESPN's darlings to Indianapolis, becoming the random, generic, low-to-mid market Indianapolis Buffaloes franchise.

It was very satisfying. Thank you, Markus. Thank you.

Teams run by the AI actually relocate to "greener pastures"? I am amazed. Is there any "How-to" to manage the financials of your team (not talking about "This is market size, this is fan loyalty, this is fan interest", but about how to actually game it)?
