OOTP 5 will probably win,
Because it's been free for a while now,
so I would think many more first started with that one.

OOTP '99 (the first one). I still have the CD and a few years ago I pirated a copy of it to Markus because he did not have it anymore!

P.S. I bought every one (because I bought every baseball game that ever came out), but was not a huge fan until 6.5 and then I quit buying every game that came out.....

Well, my first one was OOTP 2006 (which would have been "version 7" if there was one, so I chose that.)

OOTP 12. Used that until very recently, until a certain dog had a quest for me to drop it.

STB which IIRC was a re-branded OOTP 3??? Did get OOTP3 then up thru 6.51 (as others have said it was my fav for a long time) then skipped 7 (2006) thru 12.
...
I was in an OOTP 6.51 online lg that lasted from 1901 (1911 started online after simming 10 yrs for history) till 2023 ish in game, finally ended sometime around when 14 came out.
....
still my fav lg of all time

Season Ticket Baseball 2003(???) $10 from a computer store in the mall

Loved that game.

I always thought Season Ticket and OOTP were similar in feel. Had to laugh at myself when someone on the boards clued me in that ST was OOTP.

Let's see. In '99 I was 13. And I wouldn't have known a baseball even if it had struck me right between the eyes.

Picked up Season Ticket Baseball (OOTP3) at EB Games in 2001. Joined the boards the following year and have been hooked ever since.

Season Ticket. Found it at a Best Buy, I think. I bought it on a whim because in those days I was into FPS: Baseball Pro '98. I got hooked and have bought every version since. The 2006 version was a rough transition. That version turned me from a "Play out every game" player to a simmer. Still don't play them out.
I still have the Season Ticket disk. It's even installed on my older laptop. Every once in a while, I fire it up and tinker a little. Memories...

OOTPbb 06 or 6 was the best one I ever played though. I still go back to it from time to time.

The trading AI in none of them is good though. It's always been the downfall of this game and other games in fact. Very few games out of the thousands out there ever make a quality ai.

Why is 14 your favorite?

First one with the away jerseys and team pictures. Last one to not have all that 3D junk that I don't want or need, which takes up way too much space. It also seems to be the least crashy on my ancient laptop.

16 is a close second, thanks to the ability to make baseball cards for whole teams and manager/coach personalities. 15 added foreign leagues, though, so it still has a soft spot in my heart, too. There are no bad ones that I've seen.
