Hah. No bias against Toronto, I promise you! Donaldson is great at most everything but not legendary at any one specific rating as of now. But the lists in the link above were more than a bit off due to the bug I mentioned that overrated a bunch of MiLB guys.

Markus imports the ZIPS projections and they automatically adjust the ratings.

The we go through and rate prospects, set MLB lineups, rosters and depth charts to match the expected rl lineups etc. In doing that we have to adjust the ZIPS ratings in some cases to make things reflect reality a bit more.
I hear. Does that mean most guys are untouched? For example if I went on Fangraphs and checked the ZIPS projections, what percentage of players will be expected to have the same numbers in OOTP?

Hopefully everyone realizes this is all a work in progress.

We're working like mad to get things sorted as much as possible before release, but I can tell you now that there's plenty we'll be working on, fixing, and updating for some time after release.

There's only so much time in the day to get everything done after all, and when prospect rankings, MLB roster moves, int league rosters etc etc. often don't completely come out till days before or even until after release, there's just no way we can have everything perfect as as March 22nd.

It'll be the best we can get it, and then every patch will improve stuff even further.

Without getting into too many details, for lack of time if nothing else, there's not a simple answer to that question.

Most guys are untouched, but the ZIPS projections import a bit differently into OOTP's environment than they look like in raw format. They're ultimately lead to appropriate statistical results, and players will be rated accurately in comparison to one another, but just going into the editor in game you won't necessarily see the exact same statistical projections in all cases as you'll see in raw ZIPS data.

PECOTA / ZIPS: Screws Royals.

Because they never make contact. Wade Davis has mediocre stuff, etc.

I still love the game. I just have to edit it because there is otherwise no way to reflect the anomaly of baseball that is the Royals formula for a winning team.

Ce la vie!

The game definitely doesn't give Wade Davis mediocre stuff.

I may have some bias going on here, but I believe Sano should be listed for power. The dude just clobbers the ball.

He'll surely be right up there once everything is finalized.

Yeah, the ratings file I created for the SN guys was kind of messed up and nobody realized, hence some of the weird selections. Oh well, another lessen learned

Interesting. If I may ask, why do the ZIPS projections import differently into OOTP's environment?
