American scientists have discovered the technology for constructing railroads, which should improve league travel.

A bomber group is being assembled in Houston as clouds or war gather in the south. Due to the Byzantines' refusal to stop sending non-baseball missionaries into American cities, it is expected that war is not far away.

The island city of Los Angeles has completed the construction of their stadium with pride. Poor but hard-working, the citizens of L.A. are renowned for their iron excavation, and they declare their steel-girder stadium 'solid enough to play in for a thousand years.' It remains to be seen if they will be able to afford a competitive club in that time.

The city of Almaty has also completed their stadium. Once an independent city state, they were under threat of destruction by Genghis Kahn. The Americans came to their aid to prevent the Mongolians from gaining a foothold on the continent, but the ruling families of Almaty did not want American assistance. Unable to reconcile, American forces captured and occupied the city. It has been two centuries, but Almaty still cherishes their unique regional flavor. They still recognize their royal family lineage, and are the famous for their skilled jewelers.

The league expands to eight teams, adding the Los Angeles Steel and the Almaty Diamond Kings. The league has been divided into two divisions, with Washington and Seattle moving to the new Legends Division. The playoffs have added an additional round. The 1st and 2nd place teams in each division will play, with the winners advancing to the championship.

There is clearly a gap in talent between the two divisions. The Boston Gold narrowly defeated the Chicago Miners in seven games, and the Seattle Anglers finished off the Los Angeles Steel in six. Boston easily defeated Seattle to win the CBL championship.

An emissary from the league office has arrived in Houston and ousted troublemakers. Baseball is again the major religion in Houston, and their league application is pending.

Our bomber group is assembled in Houston, ready to reduce Constantinople to a smoking ruin if they give us any grief. Ground forces are moving toward the Houston-Byzantine border. They fear our military and have conceded to many of our demands, but their state-sponsored religious zealots are still prowling our shores. We will consider any attack on our way of life an act of war, and will defend Baseball with military force. We may need to stop producing radio towers, hotels, museums and railroads for a few years and shift that production into troops.

Despite the clear difference in talent level between the divisions, the 1916 championship was the most exiting one yet. Bolstered by the rising popularity of baseball games delivered by radio, people followed the drama of the underdog Washington Elephants who lost a dramatic 7-game series against the New York Admirals.

SP Hugo Segovia of the Chicago Miners threw three no-hitters this season, two against the hapless Los Angeles Steel, and one against the Washington Elephants.

WAR!

The Byzantine aggression could no longer be tolerated. Their zealots moved directly into Houston harbor, blocking ships and preaching their false religion. We resolve to use force. Our ships sunk their missionary boat, and our planes took to the air to neutralize their ground forces and navy.

Miami has completed their stadium. Their city was founded on the Western island of Florida, which they share with the town of Detroit. Originally the result of a scouting expedition that was reinforced to eliminate barbarian outposts, these masters of the dye are famous for their colorful textiles and elaborate garments. We look forward to seeing their uniforms.

The league expands to ten teams, adding the Miami Haberdashers and the Houston Citadel.

The Chicago Miners dominated the Almaty Diamond Kings to win their second championship in four years.

Buffalo has completed their stadium. Situated on the eastern end of the continent it shares with Portland, the people of Buffalo have prospered from their many silver mines. Distant from the country they remain very loyal to America, and even spread the religion of Baseball to the neighboring Mongolian city of Hsia.

In an exciting rematch of the 2016 championship, the New York Admirals win over the Washington Elephants again in seven games.

Chicago Miners LF Miles Courtney wins his 4th MVP award.

New York Admirals SP Jarrett Baston wins his 3rd consecutive Most Valuable Pitcher award.

We reaffirm our friendship with Korea.

The Byzantines are suffering great losses and their capital has nearly fallen. They clearly must offer terms of surrender soon or be destroyed.

The Chicago Miners swept the New York Admirals in 4 games to capture the Masters Division, and the Seattle Anglers also won the Legends Division Series over the Washington Elephants in four games. The Anglers were no match for the Miners in the finals however, and Chicago brought home its third championship title.

Chicago Miners Manager Hector Garena has still never had a losing season, and was recognized with his first Manager of the Year award.

The city of Constantinople has fallen to American forces, and league officials have eradicated the heretic stronghold, converting the city to the religion of Baseball! When order is established the citizens may be interested in building their own stadium.

History has been made - the Legends Division has captured its first championship!

The New York Admirals continued their strong tradition of postseason play by upsetting the Chicago Miners in the Masters Division Series, but in the championship the Seattle Anglers soundly defeated them in six games to earn their first title and bring the first taste of glory to the Legends Division.

Young LF Michael Mazurek of the Almaty Diamond Kings is a rising star to keep an eye on. He had six hits in one game and two hitting streaks longer than 20 games this season. He also has great speed on the bases and at only age 23 there may be a few batting titles in his future.

There is still no word of surrender from the Byzantines, so the march continues against Adrianople and the remaining zealots. One group of radical militants has been executed. We hope that they see their defeat as imminent and agree to negotiate a peace settlement.

St. Louis has completed their stadium. They are situated on the eastern cost of the Japanese continent, directly west of Atlanta. They have fisheries, iron mines and buffalo herds, but are known best for their dedication to archeology. On the southern side of the bay the land is dedicated to the American explorers and adventurers who fought barbarians to establish a foothold.

The league expands to twelve teams, adding the Buffalo Argent and the St. Louis Pioneers, who will begin regular season play in 1922.

The Almaty Diamond Kings reach the playoffs for the second time in their history. The Boston Gold however reversed their recent fortunes and overcame both the Chicago Miners in the division series and the Diamond Kings in the finals to win their first championship since 1915.

It remains to be seen if the Boston Gold will reward starting pitcher Will MacMillan with a new contract, he has been a part of the club for all five of its championships.

After a round of bombing runs and artillery shelling the city of Adrianople has been captured. They did not put up much resistance with their capitol already in American control. A few pockets of extremists were eliminated.

San Francisco has completed their stadium. The city consists of a pair of islands east of Boston, and they have a wide range of wildlife including deer, sheep, buffalo, elephants, and many fisheries.

Portland has also completed their stadium. They are situated on the west end of the continent it shares with Buffalo, and are the half-way point between Buffalo and the California Islands. Their city thrives off the endless herds of deer that swarm the northern island.

The league has expanded by two more teams, to fourteen, welcoming the Portland Stags and the San Francisco Zoo. Play this season will include a total of four new teams:

The Atlanta Bison and the Boston Gold finished in a tie for first place in the Masters division, one game ahead of the Chicago Miners, who missed the playoffs for the first time in nine years. The Bison were determined to be the home team for the series, but Boston was the winner in six games. The Seattle Anglers defeated the Almaty Diamond Kings in five games to win the Legends Division series. In the championship Boston and Seattle traded victories in an even series, with much respect given to both the winning and losing clubs. At the end, the Boston Gold claimed the series, 4 games to 3.

The Byzantine threat has been neutralized, and as part of their surrender they have given America the city of Antioch.

Boston and Seattle made the playoffs again, but both teams were eliminated in their division series. The Chicago Miners recaptured the championship over the Washington Elephants, who were no match for Chicago. Hiring Alex Cruz, the former pitching coach of the Miami Haberdashers, to be their manager proved to be a good move for Chicago. Even though he has a somewhat terrible relationship with his players, he knows how to win games.

Troops are returning home at the end of the war, and production has returned to peaceful gains. The industrial growth has prompted a wave of settlers to look for new lands to cultivate.

Philadelphia has completed their stadium. Situated at the southern end of the main American between the cities of New York and Almaty, it features a wide, warm bay that was once patrolled by cutthroat pirates. More recently in the negotiations with Vilnius it acquired the ancient city of El Dorado with its shimmering gold statues and artifacts and elaborate ruins. Today it is a popular vacation destination for northern Americans and world travelers.

The Chicago Miners and Washington Elephants met again in the championship with the same result, Chicago emerged with another title. The young core of players that the Miners expected to carry them to many titles has matured and their expectations are being fulfilled.

Adrian Noffsinger's legend continues to grow in Chicago. A four-time best pitcher who was drafted in 1911 and played his entire career in Chicago, Adrian is beginning to feel the years catch up to him. He has two years left on his contract with the Miners and will be 38 when his time is up. The fans hope Chicago is able to keep him around indefinitely in some capacity, he is extremely popular in Chicago.

Six-time Platinum Stick Award winner 3B Terry Callaway has left Almaty and signed with the Washington Elephants.

Retired New York Admirals SP Carlos Rijos becomes the first player to be elected to the Civilization Baseball League Hall of Fame.

It looked like Washington's year for sure, but an injury to Terry Callaway in September ground their offense to a halt and they were unable to beat the Los Angeles Steel. The Steel made their first playoff appearance since 1915, but were defeated by the Boston Gold, who won their 7th title.

The Los Angeles Steel prove that the previous season wasn't a fluke and they are a team to be dealt with. They finished with the best record in the Legends Division, but were ousted in the playoffs by an experienced Washington team. The Boston Gold repeated their success in the masters Division but were also upended in the division series by the Atlanta Bison. The Championship Series was no contest, and C Orrel Faustov overcame aching knees to unexpectedly carry the Elephants offense, hitting three home runs in six games.

The Washington fans are crazy about their team's success and plan to build a monument in their team's honor.
