Game 1 -
![]() Colorado Springs jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, but Hayward's Jon Andrews hit a grand salami to make it 5-3 in the 5th. Colorado Springs tied it up in the 7th on a Joel Andrews 2 run HR, but couldn't come through in the clutch as Mario Reyes hit a walk off in the 9th for Hayward in front of 53000 on opening day. Game 2 - ![]() Another game, another heartbreaker for Colorado Springs. The Springs falls to 0-2 as they score 8 runs, behind 3 hits and 2 RBI from Joel Andrews, but lose in the 10th inning behind a Greg Pauer walk off single. Game 3- ![]() The Cowboys blow their 3rd consecutive lead and lose their 3rd straight game in a walkoff, this time 8-5 in 11 innnings. Colorado Springs gets back to back to back home runs from Camarillo, Torres, and Montes in the 4th inning to take a 3-2 lead, but it isn't enough. Absolutely heartbreaking series for the Colorado Springs Cowboys as they fall to 0-3 on the season. Power Rankings: Colorado Springs Cowboys(0-3) is 262 out of 320. Up Next: at home vs. Union City Desert Dogs(3-0) Currently Union City is in a 3 way tie for 1st place, so this will be a challenge for sure. Union City is 1st in batting average at .392 in the Alpha League, but 45th in starter ERA. However, their bullpen ERA is ranked 1st. If we are going to stand a chance we need to get on top early. Game 4 ![]() The Cowboys finally get their first win, as Willie Montes blasts his 2nd home run of the season, a 434 foot crowd pleaser in the bottom of the 6th to give the Cowboys a 4-1 lead. The Cowboys finally hold on, advancing to 1-3 on the season and closer Josh Lind gets his 1st save of the season. Game 5 ![]() The Cowboys offence, which was batting over .300 with 5 HR's going into the game, comes down to earth as they are shut out by Union City 2-0. Herberto Albornoz went 7.1 innings, gave up 2 ER, struck out 5 and walked 4 in a loss for his first outing, but still a quality start. Game 6 ![]() Joel Andrew's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 5th gives the Cowboys an unexpected series win, and Colorado Springs improves to 2-4 on the season. Tony Munos got his 2nd homer of the season, and Josh Lind got his 2nd save. Here are the standings in my division after 6 games ![]() Up Next: @San Francisco Fisher Cats(2-4) We are hitting .284 on the season and SF is hittiing only .191, so hopefully we can outhit them. Game 7(simmed after 1st inning)
![]() Willie Montes hit a grand slam in the 1st inning, his 3rd HR of the season, and the Cowboys held on to win 6-4 and inch closer to .500 after a dissapointing start. After losing opening night while only giving up 1 run, starter Jessie Nielson gave up 4 runs in 7 innings but still got the win to improve to 1-0 on the season. He had 5 Ks and walked 2. Game 8 ![]() In game 2 of the series vs. San Francisco, the Cowboys lost their 4th walkoff game in 8 total games as Victor Ramirez hit a game winning single in the bottom of the 9th to win it 5-4. Alvaro Hernandez gave up only 2 ER in 5 IP for Colorado Springs, and Andres Garcia had 2 runs, 2 hits, and 2 RBIs, including his 2nd homer of the season, in the loss. The rubber match is tomorrow as Colorado Springs tries to get their 2nd straight series win. Game 9 ![]() San Francisco wins the final game of the series, beating up Colorado Springs pitching in the 7th inning onwards. Lance Bunch got a quality start but lost the game as he went 6 IP and gave up 2 ER. The Cowboys fall to 3-6 on the season. Up Next: at home for 3 games against the Jacksonville Deer, who are 4-5 on the season and tied for 6th place in their division. Their best stats are Starters ERA, where they are 37th, and defensive efficiencey, where they are 41st. They lack power, no one player has more than 1 HR on the season. Their bullpen is poor as they are 144th(out of 160) in the league in bullpen ERA. Week 2 Power Rankings: Despite winning a few games, the Cowboys fell from 262nd to 269th in the power rankings. Game 10 ![]() Colorado Springs gets home runs from Andres Garcia and Alex Carillo, the 3rd of the year for both, as the Cowboys beat the Deer 7-3 in the series opener. Josh Guersney pitched 6 innings and gave up 3 runs in 6 IP, to improve to 2-0 on the season. The cowboys have not commited an error in 4 games. Game 11 ![]() Defense comes through for Colorado Springs, the Cowboys are ahead 3-2 in the top of the 9th, with the bases loaded, the Deer line it to 1st and Carillo catches a line drave and throws it to 3rd baseman Garcia for the game ending double play. The Cowboys errorless streak is extended to 5 games, and Tony Munos hit his 3rd home run for Colorado Springs. Herberto Albornoz pitched 6 innings of scoreless ball to improve to 1-1 on the season, as the Cowboys improved to 5-6. Game 12 ![]() The Cowboys scored in 4 straight innings, and their bullpen pitched 4.1 innings of scoreless ball, to complete the sweep against the Deer and finally bring Colorado Springs back to .500 at 6-6. Orlando Torres hit his 2nd home run of the year and had 2 rbi and 2 hits. Colorado Springs extended their errorless streak to 6 games. There was a bench clearing brawl in the 3rd inning after David Carmona hit Tony Munos and as a result, Munos has been suspended for 6 games by the Office of the Commisioner. Carmona was suspended 6 games as well. Week 2 Standings - With the sweep of Jacksonville, Colorado Springs is only 3 games out of first. ![]() Next 3 series: 3 @ West Palm Beach(11-1), 3 vs. Wilminton(8-4), 3 @ Hesperia(3-9) Last edited by monkeyman576; 05-13-2017 at 11:01 PM. |

Game 13
![]() In their first game of star Tony Munos' suspension after a brawl, the Cowboys errorless streak is broken, and the Cowboys lose in a back and forth 14 inning game after a walk off walk is issued. Willie Montes had his 4th home run of the season, and Garcia, Sellwood and Casas all had 3 hits each. Despite the error, the Cowboys had 4 double plays in a good defensive effort. Game 14 ![]() Colorado Springs loses another walk off, falling in the bottom of the 9th as West Palm Beach's Ryan Doty hit a game winning single. Andres Garcia hit his 4th home run of the year for the Cowboys. Game 15(simmed after 4th inning) ![]() Colorado Springs salvages the series with a 19-9 blowout of West Palm Beach, handing them only their 2nd loss of the season. Joel Andrews has a home run and 5 RBI for the Cowboys, Alex Carillo has 3 hits and 5 RBI, and Andres Garcia hits his 5th home run of the season. Luke Sellwood tied the Colorado Springs team record for runs in a game with 4, and relief pitcher Francisco Cardenas tied a league record for walks in a game with 8 walks in 4 IP, but he did get the save. Game 16 ![]() The Cowboys lose yet another extra inning game, giving up 3 runs in the top of the 10th inning to lose the opener against 11-5 Wilmington, who is in 1st place in their league. Bobby Roldan had 3 hits in the loss to increase his average to .364, while Andres Garcia had 2 hits to increase his average to .397. Josh Guersney had 9 Ks and gave up only 3 ER in 6 IP, but it wasn't enough as he got his first loss of the season, and Colorado Springs fell to 7-9. Game 17 ![]() The bullpen fails the Cowboys, giving up 3 runs in the 8th inning to Wilmington, Colorado Springs has now lost 4 out of 5 with the loss of Tony Romos due to suspension. Starter Jesse Neilson went 6 IP and gave up only 1 ER but the effort was for naught. Colorado Springs was limited to 5 hits overall in the game. Week 3 Power Rankings: Colorado Springs makes a significant jump in the power rankings, up to 162nd from 269th. #1 is the Kansas City Blue Knights, with a 14-3 overall record in Division 8. Game 18 ![]() Wilmington jumps to an early lead, then the Cowboys tie it in the 6th. In the end however, the Cowboys bullpen falters again. The Cowboys are 1-5 in their last 6, which is probably expected against superior competition without their star hitter, who should be back next game. Bobby Roldan had 2 hits in the loss, and Alvaro Hernandez pitched 5.2 innings, giving up only 2 ER, but Hernandez got a no decision. Last edited by monkeyman576; 05-16-2017 at 05:06 PM. |

![]() League Leaders ![]() Player Spotlight: Joel Andrews Andrews has been underperforming in the start of the season, batting in the .260s with only one home run even though he has the 3rd highest salary on the team at $17M. ![]() ![]() Game 19 ![]() Tony Munos is welcomed back with open arms after a 6 game suspension for a brawl, going 4 for 5 with a double, HR and 3 RBI in a 7-3 win. Josh Lind got his 4th save of the season. Game 21 ![]() The cowboys have the bases loaded in the top of the 9th down 6-3, with their cleanup hitter up at the plate, but can't convert and lose the series. Andres Garcia, the Cowboys leadoff hitter, has a 15 game hitting streak and .402 average. Josh Guersney has his 1st loss of the season and is injured, expected to be out about a week. Game 25
![]() Given their recent slump, the Cowboys suprisingly beat a team with a better record on the road, and the starter had an ERA above 8.00 going into the game. This time though, Callender goes 7 scoreless innings to get his 2nd win of the season, Orlando Torres has 2 doubles for the 2nd straight game, and Bobby Roldan has 3 hits, 3 RBI a double and a home run(his first). Player Spotlight: Andres Garica Hailing out of the Dominican Republic, Garcia is having a great start and was flirting with .400 earlier, and had a 16 game hit streak. ![]() ![]() Game 26 ![]() The Cowboys secure the road series win in a 6-1 beating, Jessie Nielson wins his 2nd game of the season, going 7 innings and giving up 1 ER, Alex Carillo hits his 5th HR of the season, and Joel Andrews smacks 3 hits. Game 27 ![]() Colorado Springs loses the final game of the series, but still gets a good pitching performance, as Josh Guersney goes 7 innings and only allows 2 runs. Next 3 series: 3 vs. Clearwater(11-16) 3@Kent(9-18) 3@Wilminton(13-14) [img] ![]() Game 28 ![]() In the final game of April, the Cowboys offence fails to get going in a 6-1 loss, and starter Hernandez gets rocked for 5 ER in 5 IP. Colorado Springs finishes April with a 12-16 record, better than what pundits had expected in the preseason prediction, but beneath where we'd like to be. Game 29 ![]() The opposite result of game 1 of the series, the Cowboys win 6-1. Joel Andrews had 3 hits, including a 433 foot home run in the 8th inning. Lance Bunch went 5.2 innings, gave up 1 ER, and got his 2nd win of the season. Game 30 ![]() Colorado Springs loses the rubber match of the 3 game series to Clearwater in a close 2-1 loss. Jeff Calender goes 6 innings and gives up 2 ER with 7 K's and 1 BB in an excellent start despite the loss. Tony Munos has 2 hits including a double. Game 31
![]() Playing against inferior competition, the Cowboys win 4-1 behind 5 IP and 1 ER from Jeff Nielson, who becomes the first Colorado Springs starter to 3 wins on the season. Alex Carillo hits his 6th home run of the season, and Josh Lind gets his 5th save. Game 32 ![]() The Cowboys continue their domination of the Sox with a 16-4 whooping. Joel Andrews and Luke Sellwood each have 2 home runs, Andrews his 3rd and 4th of the year, and Sellwood his 2nd and 3rd. Josh Guersney has his 3rd win of the season, pitching 6 innings of scoreless ball, Luke Sellwood tied a team record with 4 runs in a game. Game 33 ![]() The cowboys survive a comeback attempt to complete the sweep against Kent. Orlando Torres hits his 3rd homer of the season, and Alvaro Hernandez pitches 6 innings of scoreless ball, striking out 6 and walking 2. The cowboys are within one game of .500 at 16-17. Josh Lind nets his 6th save. Trade Alert: The Cowboys only have 3 players on the bench, and 2 are catchers, so today the Cowboys traded one of their relief pitchers, Ricky Almazar, to Wyoming for outfielder David Gomez. Gomez can play 2 of the 3 outfield positions so he adds immediate versatility to the roster. Almanazar had a 5.00 ERA in 9 IP and there were better performers in the bullpen so he was considered expendable. ![]() 2017 Draft Pool Revealed! Andres Garcia hits his 6th home run of the year. Lanch Bunch goes 7 IP, gives up only 2 ER, but gets a no decision. Wilmington's Jake Pearson ties an Alpha League record with 3 doubles in a game. Note: My computer crashed and I lost a week of games. However, my team had improved the 2nd time I simmed and I was 18-16 instead of 16-18. I am going to full sim mode for a little while to speed things up. 5/7 - 19-16 - CS defeats Wilmington 7-5. The Regular Season of Season 1 is over - The 64 team playoff is upcoming.
Here are some highlights of Season 1: -The Athens Velociraptors were the best team in the league with a record of 117-45, and won their division by 14 games. -The Hesperia Gamblers were the worst team in the league with a record of 45-117, and they finished 45 games out of first place. -My team, the Colorado Springs Cowboys, finished 7th in the division with a record of 75-87, well above their predicted end of season standings. -Despite 320 teams in the league, there were only 3 no hitters pitched. In one no hitter, Angel Rivera of Alameda pitched 12 innings of hitless ball for a perfect game no hitter. -Cortez Costello had the best hitting performance of the season, when he went 5 for 5 with 3 HR, 10 RBI and 5 runs scores. -Todd Minerva of Augusta had the season high for hits in a game with a 7 for 7 performance in a 34-2 win. - 2 players batted .400 on the season, Maurice Mitchell of Reading(.408) and Rogelio Torres of Westland(.402) - 4 players had 60 HR on the season, including the league leader, Chris McCarthy of West Palm Beach(65 HR), and Maurice Mitchell(60HR), who also batted .400 on the season. -Several pitchers tied for the league lead with 20 wins for the season. -Chris Purvis of Wilmington had the league's longest hitting streak of the season with 44 games. This is what a 64 team playoff tree looks like in OOTP. ![]() Last edited by monkeyman576; 05-23-2017 at 12:16 AM. |

I've been complaining for years that the game cannot do 2x50x50 (5,000 teams) as claimed. Never had an official response.
I've just started what I think is the biggest league. The (UKLB) UK League Baseball has 2 conferences of 16 Divisions with 42 teams in each Division. 1,344 teams in total. (Not including the minors etc.) |
