I think it improves if you don't do the "start every x days" with the backups and just make them "start when starter is tired," but I'm not sure. That requires you to be a lot more hands-on day-to-day, though. And I'm not sure it's a cure-all solution either but it felt like it helped for me.
Doing it like this is the only way I can do it so replacements make sense. My shortstop was exhausted but in the lineup and my star 3B is 100% rested and only playing every 3rd game.

whenver i say you shouldn't play until ~june (in a serious manner), people often contradict that statement, lol. i stick to it... you should play previous years game until patch process is mostly done.. this happens every single year in some for or another.

this is how the gaming industry works now.. not jsut the smaller operations. even ea basically outsources a large portion of debugging to the first week or month of release. they only make sure it operates to some extent then rely on feedback.

i play with real '19 players to pass time before i do my typical fictional league setup. helps learn the new options in the meantime, and i can continue my '18 league on the side too. or, do the opposite if you typically put a lot of time and effort into a real league etc. or historical or whatever.

Where are folks seeing this issue? MLB? Fictional? All kinds of leagues?

I haven't noticed anything like this, but I'm not looking for it either. I pretty much play fictional and sim quickly. I typically look at league leaders and move on.

Mine is a fictional MLB-like league imported from 18

Mine is real MLB starting this year. I should be on to 2019 tonight and will be able to tell much better. (although I might wait if this really an issue/bug)

I haven't really noticed this in my game, but that could be because I play every game and check the lineups to make sure my preferred lineup is in just about every game. Do all of you use the lineup overview screen to set your lineups? I find that that works quite well for me.

I'm not changing the way I play due to a bug, and anyway, it looks like teams around the league are affected as well, from what others have said, so there's really no point trying to find a workaround for player-controlled teams.

i've played a few seasons with '19 too. re-built tigers etc. let it sim on it's own a few years after that.

but, i'm not investing hours of creating a custom league, and running it for 50+ years.

the only problem i saw was when i delegated .. it used a pitcher as teh DH instead of the position player. it was a tosss up, but hte damn ai manager kept using him as a 2-way player and reveretd my plaer strategy unchecking that option, lol. as it should, since i was delegating to the coach.

the fatigue thing could happen anywhere any league type... maybe if you 'force' positions you avoid the problem? i was doing that in the limited use i got in with '19 before delegating, so my guys weren't being subbed and ph'ing when tired.. didn't look closely after that.

if yo uset your lineups, you'll avoid it. but the rest of the league may not.

I'm even seeing players benched who have their 'player strategy' set to force start this player. So, there is a problem somewhere.

The fatigue thing is happening with AI teams though, so it's not a matter of forcing positions. The AI teams are handcuffed by the issue. Definitely needs addressing, but that's not the subject of this thread so I'll leave it alone for now.

I see it happening all to often to players on AI teams sitting star players. I was very surprised to see that. There is no real reason as to why the team sits this guy. IF he was on my team he be playing every game and every inning as I rarely sit my players and only use bench players during fatigue or injuries .., Helps also with salary too HEHE.

I am only 21 games into my season with the 2018 Mets. I’ve got Jose Reyes backing up much of the infield and supposed to play every 10 days. He seems to be in my lineup every day

Let me add that all of my fictional teams are cpu controlled teams. Noticed one of the teams was benching it's mega-star veteran for a young player who was good but not as good as this player. The star was not tired or injured, but the game was making him the backup. So, went into the mega-star's player strategy and toggled the force start. Next game... the cpu still played the underling and continues to do so even though the big star is not tired or hurt. Somethings not quite right here.

No doubt it's ignoring my settings. I have someone set to play every 7 games he plays almost every day.

I think this is due to a combination of both the issues that we're releasing that patch to fix.

So yes, it should be fixed.

Thanks, I just read that it's fixed in the bug forums thread!

I guess I'll have to wait one more day to debut my new RF Bryce Harper.
