Whale is first a sales and marketing term - so you'd have to ask OOTP what's technically a whale in this game. In any case, if you're paying for the most expensive single purchase once a week (in this case $100 worth of PP), you're probably what sales and marketing would consider a whale. That might not buy you a rotation of the 5 best guys, but it definitely buys you a special place in the plans and affections of OOTP.

OP I hate your team you beat me in the Gold level series after I was up 3-1... And then you were in the same diamond league as me the very next week and you won that too...
As far as I'm concerned, you're a whale. At the time I had never seen a better team. I'm glad you're getting wrecked in perfect. Although now I'm seeing this guy in my diamond league this week with an .800 winning percentage and a team of all historical diamonds and perfects. So there's that. But seriously look at this bs arrogant quote. I was up 3-1, with the last 2 games of the series going to extra innings so in truth you barely pulled it off. AND I already hate Cody Bellinger irl:

My team is interesting in that I've spent a fair bit of money on packs - this is my "collectors" team so I bet I've spent at least $150 opening packs if you add it all up. I've not had great results from that though. While I've gotten some good cards out of the packs (live Yelich being the best one by far), my team is anything BUT a whale team. I guess if I'd spent all the money buying PP and then buying high-end cards I might have ended up with a better team but that's sort of antithetical to collecting a lot of cards. Or maybe $150 isn't enough to be considered a whale (while it's more than many spend, it's definitely not enough to get a roster full of diamonds and perfects)

What about a team that has 15 perfect cards that couldn't even make the active roster this week? If so, I have a legit whale in my league this week.

This. I eyeballed the rosters of the top four or five teams in the two perfect leagues I'm in and most had at least 10 perfect cards and the rest high diamonds (or a gold meta card or two like Maddox). If a hundred bucks gets you 175,000 PP and many historic perfect cards are around 200,000 PP, that's a big investment in a video game. Must be a lot of lawyers, doctors, and stock brokers who play this game... |

I've got 6 Perfects, 17 Diamonds, and 2 Golds on my F2P team which is F2P. I'm in a Diamond League playing .500 ball - and certainly not a Whale even though the roster looks like one.
I would think a Whale would have a minimum total OVR of 2450 whether free or by investment. That's an average of 94/player.

Craft beers...somewhat off topic, but with a good suggestion included.
Those of you seeking craft beer should try Manitou Amber Ale (Traverse City, MI), or Horny Monk (Petoskey, MI) or Bellaire Brown (Bellaire, MI) or even Dead Bear (Grayling, MI). TC & Petoskey are also two of the better Michigan vacation locations.
OOTP World Tournament in TC? Eh? Beer drinking & baseball for a week? Great golf course for those who enjoy walking around chasing their own balls. Nice little airport in town. Great fishing! Sleeping Bear Dunes, Mackinac Bridge (and the Island), Mackinac Fudge. Swimming, boating, nature...and a yak farm within an hour's drive! <<I hear ya now...'yak farm?' WTF is he thinking?>>

I believe I passed through there once in my younger days and had some craft beer although I not recall the beer itself.
