Due to the new teams the CHL will have the top six teams make the playoffs with the top two having first round byes.

1996-97 Trade Deadline update



CHL President Thomas Dubois announced in a press conference today that the CHL would be expanding by two teams




The Moncton Loggers, who will be playing at the 6,500 seated Moncton Colisium.




And the Regina Mounties who will be playing at the Mile One Stadium with a 6,287 capacity.
