OHL Round 1 Game 5 Results

Sudbury 4 Peterborough 2 (SUD leads 3-2) - MAJOR UPSET ALERT!!
Niagara 5 Kingston 2 (NIA wins series 4-1)
Oshawa 6 Mississauga 1 (OSH wins series 4-1)

Owen Sound 6 Saginaw 0 (OS wins series 4-1)
Windsor 3 Sarnia 2 OT (WIN wins series 4-1)
Guelph 2 Erie 1 (GUE wins series 4-1)
Kitchener 3 Flint 2 (KIT wins series 4-1)

The only series left going in the OHL is Sudbury-Peterborough where the Wolves are looking to score a major victory over the heavily favoured Petes. The Wolves are riding the back of Brennan Cook, one of the best goalies in the OHL.

Western first round is done with the Guelph Storm pulling off a big upset over Erie.

Fulgham pulls off a 16 save shutout as Owen Sound exorcises their 1st round demons from last year and send Saginaw packing.

If anyone was ripe for an upset it would have had to have been the Windsor Spitfires. Playing against a young, upcoming and talented Sarnia squad and missing it's 3 best players (Ralph White, Matt Bast and Pete Van Dyk) all to long term injuries, Windsor still proved to be too much for the inexperienced Sting. We will see how far the Spitfires can go despite these key injuries.

For a closer look at star defenceman, Ralph White, see this thread. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=316136

The Gatineau Olympiques continue their quest towards the Memorial Cup with a big Round 1 takedown of Drummondville. Star player, Dale Dahl (2nd round pick (45th overall) of the Bruins in 2023 NHL Draft) leads the way for Gatineau with 11 points in 6 games.

The Victoria Royals will go as far as their superstar player, Kalan Lind (Sharks 1st round pick - 19th overall) will take them. His 6 points in only 3 games was enough to help the Royals fend off the Kamloops Blazers.

Steve Kardashian is going to be a top pick in the upcoming 2025 NHL draft but right now he is dominating the WHL giving his opponents nightmares trying to stop him. Just ask the Kelowna Rockets who lost to Kardashian and the Tri-City Americans in 6 games.

Can anyone stop Kardashian?

Brennan Cook and the Sudbury Wolves score a major upset over Peterborough in 6 games. Peterborough was clearly the best team in the Eastern conference throughout the regular season. Cook and the Wolves will take on the Niagara IceDogs in the 2nd round. Can they score another upset?

Charlottetown had a strong regular season but Acadie-Bathurst gave them all they could handle in the first round, taking them to the limit in 7 games. The Islanders will have to play better than that in round 2 to avoid elimination.
