Well, look at that I'm still in OOTPXX, so I guess it's been added for 21 Awesome! Yeah, when there are 30 or 35 or 40 players at a level it's hard to get them all in. So limiting them to fewer innings helps. I haven't noticed that it hinders development at all, as long as the true prospects are identified pretty quickly and then ramped up. I do 75 for my high-end prospects in the lower levels and 45 or 55 for others. Don't eve on get me started on hitters. Too late Then I make sure all my hitters get experience at every position they have a rating for. All my infielders play all 4 spots. Outfielders play all 3. Every season, to build those ratings, or keep them from decaying. One never knows where a player will be needed at the big league level. Again, the higher end prospects get more care and focus at a single position,. If they look like a potential starter at 3B, they focus on 3B. While players who look like longer shots to make the majors, I focus more on diversifying. If the below average bat, speedy infielder can play 3 positions, there's a lot more chance they'll be useful to the big league team. And, yes, I probably spend 75% of my time in my minors most OOTP sessions. I sim a week, look over the nig league club, then redo my minors. Rinse and repeat. Then dedicate a few sessions to the big league club when they need it. |

I'm baffled when I see players who play 160-162 games a season in OOTP. I don't know how non-pitchers stamina works, but a typical starter who plays all 9 innings on my team eventually gets tired and needs a day off. If I took a starter out for a replacement after 6 or 7 innings a couple of times each week, would he get more games in before needing a rest? I'd assume so, but I don't want to manage that way. Maybe it's just one of those things that the AI can do that we can't? If that's the case, that's totally fine...I just wish I knew for sure what is or isn't going on to allow AI players to play 160+ games per season.

Lima First Playoff Game Win
The Lima Puma win their first playoff game
Over division rival Belo Horizonte who eliminated us in a 101st game last year, and came from behind this year to knock us out of the division lead. Surviving a bases loaded bottom of the eighth, when Watanabe struck out my former third baseman Jorge Nunez EDIT: In Game 2 Nunez goes 2-3 with 3 RBI including a bases loaded two-run double that broke open a 3-1 game. EDIT2: Game 3 - A 4 run first against us. We battle back to 5-3 and the game ends with out best hitter, Ricky Lopez on deck. EDIT3: Game 4 - Our strategy of not having a starter, and throwing our best pitchers, holds Belo to 1 run. However, Julio Mrtola gives up just 2 hits in 7 innings. In the 9th we get our leadoff hitter on. Ricky Lopez strikes out. Ronquillo steals second and third with one out. I don't bring in contact hitter Jesus Tello and Baro K's. Cortez grounds out to end the season. EDIT 4: We were the only team to win a game against Belo this post season. EDIT 5 (At least in one reality. Due to a computer issue, I had to re-sim the last 2 playoff rounds. Belo still won the World Series, but lost some games along the way Last edited by CBeisbol; 12-11-2020 at 10:31 PM. |

I think we are in similar years, I'm in 1993. I find if I don't take some control too many of my players never get a day off. I also try and, when I play games out, usually September, take guys out late in games. I don't know if it keeps them fresher, but if they aren't playing, they are less likely to get injured. |
