Another try with Connor McDavid. He was a UFA, so i offered him another chance. This time for 4 340 000 per season. Sure, his ratings are not great (2,5), but he deserves another chance.

Regular season was good. With 115 points 1. in the table. Mostly thanks good defense and spectacular Goalie Ben McGrogann. Had 12 shootouts and 92,5 %. Played in 74 games.

4 players with 100+ points. But scoring race was very weak. Only 1 guy with 51 goals, and only 7 players with 40+ goals. And thats not all. Four of them had 40 goals, one with 41 and one with 45.

Playoff ended badly. Again lost in the 1. round. In 7 games vs Toronto Maple Leafs. Last game was a true disaster, lost 3:8. Vezina Trophy candidate has a very bad game.
Poor McDavid. It looks like, he will end his career without any Stanley Cup (lets see, ho it will go i real life).

Connor McDavid oficialy retired.
Hart Trophy: 8
Art Ross: 6
World Championships Gold: 3
World Cup Gold: 1
1679 regular season games: 697 + 1338 = 2035
156 playoff games: 59 + 98 = 157

40-years old Patrik Laine has retired.
1744 regular season games: 691 + 977 = 1668

One of the best regular seasons. Young guys performed very well and improved their rating very well. First overall with 59 wins, 121 points and with 121 goal difference (317:198).
Alexandre Faraldeau, 23 years old center, has a great season. He didn't won the scoring race, was 3., but he had 103 points (53 + 50), +40, 22 PPG and 15 GWG!

Unfortunately, no Stanley Cup. Lost in 1. round. Again. What is wrong with this generation?

Ben McGrogann won his 7. Vezina Trophy.

Btw., my team is real mix of various nationalities. Canada, Russia, Sweden, USA, Finland, Slovakia, Swiss, Germany, Kazakhstan, Nederland, Island, Turk. Yes, i have also players from this 3 exotic countries. But the are only roster fillers, not stars.

Cedric Francis from Washington Capitals had a perfect game – 1 goal + 7 assists by 9:2 win.

Austom Matthews, the last of the grand rio (McDavid, MacKinnon, Matthews) retired. He accomplished a lot in his career. But also he didn't won any Stanley Cup. Sad.
Hart Trophy: 1
Maurice Richard: 3
Art Ross: 4
Stanley Cup: 0
World Championships Gold: 5
World Cup Gold: 2
1688 regular season games: 896 + 1053 = 1949
97 playoff games: 45 + 53 = 98

2038/2039
Had to say good bay to 2 long time core players.
Rasmus Dahlin won 6 Stanley Cups with Red Wings, 2 times as a Conn Smythe Trophy winner. He is already 38 years old.
Shane Wright was acquired per trade. He is only 34 years old, but he has no future in my team. Too many injuries in last seasons, very big contract demands and the performance was also declining.
A little bid under performed. Only 1 Conny Smythe and 1 Maurice Richard. Expected more.

Regular season was still good. With 114 points second best in the standings. Robert Brennan with his first Maurice Richard Trophy. He was the only one, who scored 50 goals. And there was only one player with 100+ points.

Karel Danis, 20-years old center, drafted 1. overall in 2038, with first regular season in NHL. And that with 97 points, second best in the league.

40-years old Brady Tkachuk retired. His career could be named as a „International Gold career“. Never won a cup, but he won 8 Gold on WCH, 2 Gold on World Cup, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze on WCH.

Again a good, 54-win regular season. From individual point big disappointment. Only 1 player from my team cracked 30 goals. Leader had only 73 points. Not a single nomination to regular season NHL Trophy.

But in playoffs it works well. Another Stanley Cup, Nr. 18 for Red Wings. Canadiens still on top with 24, Maple Leafs 3. with 13.

Finaly, some player has 60+ goals. 29-years old center Cedric Francis (Oilers) collected 61 goals and 64 assist. Still, not so many 100+ points players. Only 3.

Detroit Red Wings won only 48 games. And that was a disappointment. Looking to the roster, there should be attack to some record.
Lost in 1/2-finals.

WTF? No playoffs this season. Red Wings were 9. best team in Eastern Conference with 91 points and 42 wins. Exactly like the 8. Montreal Canadiens. Big surprise, when we look to our roster. Other side, it is good for the game. In EHM it was simply impossible to be out of playoffs.

This season was also very weak in regard to best players. Nobody had a 100 points, Art Ross Trophy winner had only 95 points.

Interesting fact. Karel Danis, best overall player this time, had to sit out from NHL in season 1941/1942. Maybe his contract demands were too high for Rangers. After that season he signed. But hold your breath. He signed for 3 years for 2 650 000 per season! Second WTF.

Another aspect of this game, i starting to like. There are players, so called late bloomers. I have a 22-years old forward with 3 stars (2 stars beginning this seasons). His potential is 5 stars. Interesting.

Now the opposite. Defensman Anthony Kirdy, 31 years old, is now only 2 and ½ stars. But he was a premium Defensman some seasons ago. Maybe he will retire soon.

What a wonderful regular season. After last disappointment, this was one of the best – 60 wins, 127 points, goals 305 : 197, Presidents Trophy.
Ben McGrogann was nominated for Vezina Trophy (54 wins, 9 SO, 92,5 %), Nikolay Tenisov for Norris Trophy (67 points, +46), David Pelletier for Calder Trophy (20+22), myself for Executive of the Year Award and Jack Adams Trophy.

Art Ross won Benoit Droin (Lightnings) with 120 points (35+85). But he was the single player with 100+ points. He was not nominated for Hart Trophy. Hmmmm.
There was only 4 player with 40+ goals, Marice Richard winner had only 44 goals. Strange.

Alexandre Faraldeau won Conn Smythe Trophy. That means, Red Wings won another Stanley Cup!

McGrogann with 8. Vezina, Tenisov with 1. Norris Trophy.

What a disappointment. After 2044/2045 season, when we won with dominant fashion, something similar should happen also in this season. But that was a mistake. Even with almost the same roster, as we had in the 60-win season, this time, we are out of playoffs.
There were issues almost every week with injured players. That was maybe the main reason.

I wanted to arrange a trade with New York Rangers to take Slovak forward Karel Danis (best overall player in current game-time). Offered a lot, but Rangers refused.

Then i wanted to make a trade with Penguins. They drafted wonder kid Cullen Borsato in the 2045 draft (1. overall). He jumped to NHL exactly as it was expected. With 98 points and GR 80. Also this trade wasn't successful.
So, we must concentrate to next seasons.

Good regular season with 54 wins and 112 points. After one bad season, McGrogann is back. Nomination for Vezina Trophy.
In the league, there was only one player with 106 points. And only one with 50+ goals. Scoring race was really boring. There were only 4 players with 40+ goals. But that is somehow normal in this game.

Lost in the second round.

New wonder-kid is heading to NHL. Canadian center Jack Shepitka won Gold on Olympics as a 17 years old. In WHL regular season he had 150 points, another 31 in playoffs.

Nothing special from my team. Playoffs. Lost in 1. round.

Interesting individual performance from 30 years old Félix Montembeault (Canadiens). Scored 63 goals. That is very very good number in my game. And also 28 power-play goals. He is actually the best overall player in the game.

Ben McGrogann, 8-times Vezina Trophy winner, is slowly declining. He is not even in the top 10 in overall rankings and also between goalies there are skilled players.

Successful Season crowned with another Stanley Cup.
Alexandre Faraldeau won Conn Smythe Trophy, his second.
Ben McGrogann with Vezina, his 9. overall.

Cullen Borsato, 21-years old wonder kid won his second Hart Trophy and also second Selke Trophy. That lucky franchise Pittsburgh Penguins had another superstar.

Because im now in a 2049/2050 season, it is good to look back.

At first, WCH U20 history.
As you can see, nothing special happened. Only for one exception. And that was a time, when Slovakia won. Overall, it is almost always between Canada and Russia. Here and there Russia and Sweden. Finland is a rarity.

We are now in season 50/51. Before the trade deadline the Red Wings traded their long time player Alexandre Falardeau to Pittsburgh Penguins for 2. round pick in 2051 NHL Entry draft.
35-years old Falardeau was drafted 2. overall in 2035 draft. Played 1282 games with 1290 points (541+749).
Stanley Cup: 3
Maurice Richard Trophy: 1
Conn Smythe Trophy: 2
Best luck to next seasons.

Last 2 seasons were only average. No Cup, that means nothing to celebrate.
