Range is by far the most important defensive rating for CF. Arm has very little to do with the ability to play CF. For real life examples, just look at guys like Bernie Williams, who would have trouble playing catch in a closet, but was an elite defender in his prime.

Also 60 arm isn't bad for an OF.

Really depends on your team and the scarcity of players at certain positions in a save file. I'm playing an online league (Royals) and a historical solo league (Rangers). My Royals are tripping over infielders so this guy would play CF for sure. Meanwhile my Rangers would easily play this guy at 2B, and maybe even desperate enough to play him at SS given my house rules.

You beat me to it. It's impossible to give a definite answer with such limited information on the teammates. Off the cuff, CF or 2B would probably be the better two choices. Then, I'd go CF between those two choices. He'll have great range at either position, but you know that guy is going to hold onto everything he gets his glove on in CF with that awesome OF Error rating. The middle infield is tough enough, to begin with, but with a 60 rating, you'll have to expect him to kick around some baseballs from time to time. 60 is still a good rating, but it's not 80!

I just loaded OOTP to see what Bernie Williams is rated in my saved game. At 26 years old, he is currently rockin' a 70/70/55 -- he doesn't have a cannon, but I'm okay with that.

Please remember to update this post in the future with an update on this guy...

Train him everywhere but C-1B-3B

What are his splits? Is he solid against RH & LH ? If he has a moderate split then get a player that is (hypothetically) a monster against LHers and plays SS well and get a player that is a monster vs RHers that plays CF

Now you made a new 'dual type' player
