Andrej72, don't worry about stats over small portions of the season. Your player has only had 15 hits and a few walks so far. He has only played 14 games and he has not been on the bases very often. On that scale, just one good or bad decision or play can alter his statistics pretty significantly. It is far too early to worry about how players are performing, especially if their ratings are good.

Here is something I recommend: take some screenshots of your players' key batting and pitching stats, and then create a complete copy of your saved game under a different file name and then load it in OOTP. Then simulate the rest of the season and let the AI manage everything. Then look at your players' stats. You will see that players generally perform as you would expect over a full season, based on their ratings. Of course, there will be standard statistical variations, and some players might overachieve or underachieve a bit. But you will see that statistics and projections don't really mean anything unless you're looking at a large number of games.

So , those are numbers from April 19th. Still early. If you read up on Baseball stats you will run across discussions focused on when certain stats become "sticky". Meaning , when to they actually tell us something. Maybe OOTP is different, as I am just beginning to get into it, but in baseball in general you can have light hitting , all glove, middle infielders on pace to hit 50 home runs at the end of April. That doesn't mean they are going to do it. Conversely sluggers will get off to slow starts. Think more about the end of May as being a time to consider whether a player is going to perform. Maybe they will ? Maybe they won't ? - Who knows , its laptop Baseball ( which is better than no baseball ! )
