I just want to echo what others have said. He was a kind, patient guy who did so much to improve the game I’ve spent so much of my life with. He’ll be missed by me and by many others. Condolences to his friends and family.

Wow, just incredibly sad news. As solely a historical player, I cant tell you how much his work brought enjoyment for me.
Deepest sympathy to his loved ones. |

RIP Spritze
maybe along with dedicating v22 in his honor, put in a visual addition to the default stadium (perhaps something on the outfield wall or scoreboard) |

Very tragic news. I can honestly say that without his help and explanations of how things worked, I would have given up on OOTP several versions ago. Another addition to the long, sad legacy of 2020.

I am not a person who shows much emotion but a tear cones to my eye each team I read a new post in this thread. I never met Chuck, never actually talked to him but I feel from our interactions on this board and our shared love of historical play that I knew him very well and we had an awful lot in common. He did so much to enhance my enjoyment of OOTP over the past two decades and will be sorely missed. My heart goes out to his family.

I will miss him. He will always share a common bond with everyone in the OOTP community and in baseball in general - those who have a deep love and admiration for the history of the game and who want to keep it alive.

I just returned to the community in the past few days, and I just saw this post this evening.
I never met Chuck personally, but he was a truly kind guy and had an awesome personality -- and did many great things for us who have played Historical games all through this game's life. I used his DB's for countless historical setups, and coming back to the community to this news is SO very sad. ![]() I want to leave heartfelt condolences from our family to his family, friends, and loved ones -- and there were many, for sure. Rest in Peace, Sir. ![]()

Very sad to hear. I don't post here all that often these days (except to occasionally share random ideas that come into my head), but Spritze was a fixture of the site.

Every person is unique; but some people, like Chuck, are more unique than others. May he rest in peace.

I havent played historical in many years but I've been on and off these boards since around 2001. I saw many intelligent posts and many contributions from Spritze over the years. I am truly sorry to his family for the loss they have suffered. If he was half the guy around the house as he was on here, his family got a treat every day being around him.
RIP Spritze. |

Does anyone know who his favorite player was and is there a facegen of him anywhere? i want to honor him by putting him in the 2035 MLB draft. Andreas, Marcus & Kev24Fan have all appeared in my league already as Nettles, Maddux & Eddie Collins. Eventually i will ask more to join my league.
