At 53-57 2.5 GB we may not make the playoffs but we are too close to have a fire sale and have fans left after it. i still made several moves, getting a better hitting C and strengthening my bench. With Landa & Cassini back, we have a chance at making the playoffs. Lopez gives us a better leadoff hitter with some speed. doubtful that any FA will be back next year.

i am committed to my pitching staff, at least til next years FA.

We are 70-69 1 GB AL East. We are also a .5 GB Boston for the 2nd AL WC.

We held down 1st p;ace for 4 days or so. We still have a chance to make the playoffs but losing 2 sluggers is going to hurt us.We can only bring up 5 players in September, so i brought up 2 pitchers and 3 hitters.Cf Jeff Ferguson comes up, he was our 2nd rd pick and can play 1b, 3b and all 3 Of spots. excellent D & speed.

AL East Champs!

I was really tempted at selling off everyone in late July when we were 2.5 games back. I decided i couldn't pull a 1997 White Sox White Flag sale. We won the Al East and will face the angels in the ALDS. We did lose several good players due to injury, so i do not know how deep we will go in the playoffs but this is a good place to be in. Hopefully my Owner gives me $$ to re-sign several FA like Bauer & Behrens.

Eddie Cicotte will pitch out of the pen in the playoffs and Ferguson will make the playoff roster. He gives us an elite defender in CF with great speed but offensively, he's not there yet.

Overall, the Knuckleballers who i know are good, did well overall.

Jim Bouton - hoping he improves on his rookie season to be a solid #2 or #3.

Tom Candiotti - Should be my #4 next season.

Eddie Cicotte - 1-2 years away from being my ace.

R A Dickey - solid rookie season.

Mickey Haefner - i had no clue who he was prior to this. as a LHP i hope he does well next year.

Gene Beardon - He needs to improve his K/BB otherwise i will part ways with him. doubtful my Owner would let me re-sign him anyway.

Ryan Feierbrand - Was used mostly only as a LHP Specialist.

Jared Fernandez - he needs to improve if he wants to stay here.

Eddie Fisher - i will try to give him more PT in 2021, hopefully he pitches better.

Eddie Gamboa - he was good overall.
