Am getting the same bug: typically happens to first round draft pick - signs, gets big signing bonus and is either released next calendar day or at end of season after racking up bunch of awards.

One league in which this occurs the 40man is disabled and in another league the reserve roster is set to limitless.

I found this when researching why leagues were so lacking in parity. Winning teams rarely did this and chronically losing teams typically did.

Meant to add that typically the new team said pick signs with is for a minor league contract. Not always IIRC.
