I have to remember in my OOTPB league that if I ever have a lockout, I need to disable FaceGen for the duration.

Within minutes of locking out players Thursday amid contentious negotiations on the next collective bargaining agreement, Major League Baseball scrubbed all remnants of player likenesses off its official properties such as MLB.com, replacing player photos with generic silhouettes.

Retired players still have their portraits, or at least Buster Posey does.

Thankfully at least in OOTP the players, the league, and the owners, and certainly general management (me! *cough* *cough*) are all equally dense and mindless and just keep on going.

Or they agreed that the ******* pie is big enough for everybody to have a slice.

I'm pretty sure player pictures belong to the Player's Association, not MLB, and therefore MLB can't legally (just like OOTP couldn't) put their pictures on their website.

I think some people have taken the silhouette images as a snub against the players, but I think it'd actually just a leagl thing.

So between the extreme cost of attending a game and the costs to just watch from your living room, it takes a lot of money to be fan. St. Louis Cardinals had $5 tickets this past year, and they allow you to bring in your own drinks and food.

It CAN be expensive...just like how you can purchase a Bentley instead of a Ford Focus. It's all about making good choices.

No..I don't buy beer, and I bring my own water, and I buy a BIG bag of peanuts from a vendor outside the stadium for $3.

Edit to add..I am fully retired, and the cost for cable to me is less than two percent of my income, and I have a premium package. This is internet AND cable.

Since the lockout began, the MLBPA and MLB have met exactly zero times.

It's enough to get me to turn off "financials" in my league when I start up again with V.23.

If you CHOOSE to spend a vast amount of money to see an MLB game, they you don't have any standing to criticize the cost. Just sayin'.

Maybe college baseball can be brought to the masses, like Disney (via ABC and ESPN) tried in 2020 (damn Covid)...

This could have been followed by "Bwah, ha, ha, ha!"
